It's easy to feel overwhelmed and frustrated when your plans don't unfold the way you expected. But deviation from the original path may actually be the best thing to happen for you!Instead of seeing obstacles as signs to give up or sink into a victim mentality, view them as an opportunity to step into your creative potential. Even in the face of extreme adversity, you get to choose whether your wounds break you or make you.In many cases, we have to surrender to trusting the process. It's healthier to view everything happening in your life as happening FOR you instead of TO you.In this episode of The Wellness Wave podcast, I share my thoughts on how to cultivate a resilient mindset and accept what we can and cannot control. I read a passage from The Creative Act: A Way of Being by Rick Rubin and pull a card from The Herbal Astrology Oracle. If this podcast sparked any provoking thoughts, please be a doll and share!Instagram | @slocksounds TikTok | @slocksoundsYouTube | Slock SoundsTune In to My NewsletterAmazon StorefrontAffiliate LinksTo book your free coaching consultation or inquire about other business opportunities, say hello@slocksounds.com

Most of us are guilty of over-apologizing for things that aren't really our responsibility at some point. Unfortunately, chronically apologizing can make you feel less confident and dim your inner magnetic radiance. In this episode of The Wellness Wave podcast, we explore how over-apologizing might be hindering your success and how you developed this destructive habit in the first place. The good news is it's just that: a habit! Always saying you're sorry is NOT a personality trait. :) Tune in to some lessons from my week in NYC on chronic apologizing. Are you an addict?

Your first instinct might be to say no, but I bet as soon as your phone dings your eyes are darting to it faster than you can consciously process it. You habitually grab your devices and spend hours a day scrolling.

Social media is a WONDERFUL tool. I've found a way to express myself, connect with like-minded individuals, and even meet my partner of 4 years.

But when does this dependency cross a line and take over your life? How often do you lose the present moment because you're consumed by whatever is on your screen?

In this episode, I chat about how your phone usage overwhelms your nervous system. More importantly, I share some tips for you to cultivate healthy boundaries, live more in the moment, and THRIVE!

We're constantly seeing content about becoming "that girl" across Pinterest, Instagram, and YouTube, but I personally feel I've reached a point of evolving past that. I'll be 25 in August (where are my Leo babies at?), and I feel that I've been transitioning into womanhood. In this episode, I share what that means to me. That woman is aware and present. She takes responsibility for her actions. However, she also has grace for those around her and grace for herself. She sees beauty in imperfection but still has standards and expectations. BOUNDARIES are the essence of "that woman."That woman doesn't have to be aggressive in order to get what she wants. She just naturally attracts her desires through her vibrant energy. She knows what is meant for her will find her. Do any of the traits I mentioned in this episode resonate with you? Let me know! I'd love to hear your thoughts, as always.Stay ConnectedInstagram | @slocksounds @thewellnesswavepodTikTok | @slocksoundsTune In to My NewsletterAmazon StorefrontTo book your free coaching consultation or inquire about other business opportunities, say hello@slocksounds.com

Ahhhh summer! The vibes this season are coastal Grandma meets chic cowboy, and I am here for it. This time of the year we're getting excited for our vacation plans, afternoons lounging by the pool, late nights in deep conversation with crickets chirping in the background, giant bowls of fresh fruit, and living in a bikini and baggy cutoff shorts. I'm living for it! At the same time, a lot of people romanticize this time of year or have extreme plans to lose 20 pounds in hopes of feeling more confident in a bikini and then feel super disappointed when their expectations aren't meant. I'm here to remind you: you're human and as long as you're showing yourself compassion, that's enough. That being said, feeling good feels good, so here are my tips to have your healthiest, most abundant, and most GLOWY summer yet. I share my favorite habits grouped into MIND, BODY, and SPIRIT categories. But of course, they're all interconnected, so no matter what category you focus on, you'll be caring for yourself holistically. I hope you love this episode! Let me know on Instagram or TikTok if you feel called to build any of these habits into your own life! xxStay ConnectedInstagram | @slocksounds @thewellnesswavepodTikTok | @slocksoundsMy Amazon Storefront Tune In to My NewsletterTo book your free coaching consultation or inquire about other business opportunities, say hello@slocksounds.com

Life has gotten a bit chaotic for me lately. I can't complain because it's all good things! However, I'm realizing a few things:1. I definitely spent the past few years recovering from a bad case of burnout. 2. When life gets busy is when it's more important than ever to take care of yourself. 3. The fundamentals - sleep, water, and nutrition - really make all the difference.

In this episode, I dive into my personal experience with burnout from a heavy workload and how I'm learning to navigate a lot on my plate today so I can prevent getting burnt out again. I'm fired up about this multi-part series because we're diving deep into the concepts this podcast was fundamentally inspired by: the cycles of life and how honoring these rhythms is the true key to wellness.Nearly everything in nature operates in some type of cyclical or wavelike pattern, and we as human beings are no exception. Learn how to biohack your highs and lows as we explore cycles from a macro-to-micro scale, from seasonal cycles all the way zoomed into breathing and quantum particles. In the first part of this series, we're talking all things Ultradian rhythms. These are the productivity/stress cycles that occur throughout the day. We rise and fall and rise again. We take a look at the physiology of why listening to our bodies when it's telling us it's break time is way more productive and efficient than hustling without breaks. As always, please let me know what insights you found most interesting. I hope after listening you feel inspired to take more ultradian breaks throughout your days!Stay ConnectedInstagram | @slocksounds @thewellnesswavepodTikTok | @slocksoundsTune In to My Newsletter To book your free coaching consultation or inquire about other business opportunities, say hello@slocksounds.com

Do you want to know the secret to a HEALTHY and THRIVING life?! Having fun! When we take everything too seriously, we put pressure on our circumstances in a way that takes away our sense of safety rather than giving us a dose of healthy stress that turns us into DIAMONDS!For the majority of us, our basic survival needs are met. This can lead to boredom, which can lead to us actively seeking out stress and friction in unhealthy ways.In this episode, we discuss the relationship between pleasure and pain and how navigating these highs and lows with the energies of playfulness, connection, and flow can help us live a life of longevity. Having fun is a HEALTH INTERVENTION!Stay ConnectedInstagram | @slocksounds @thewellnesswavepodTikTok | @slocksoundsYouTube | Slock SoundsMoreFor all business inquiries, email hello@slocksounds.com

What is intuition and what causes us to lose touch with this innate sense? How do we reestablish our connection to this kind of guidance so we can make our lives easier?

These are the questions we tackle in this episode of The Wellness Wave. In order to listen to your intuition, you must overlook all of the noise being thrown at you from all directions. It's the season of love, baby, so we're chatting all things self-love and self-worth. It is so important to cultivate a healthy relationship with yourself through self-pleasure, connecting with your inner world, and taking yourself on dates. If you can't get to know yourself, you can't jump into getting to know others to your full potential. I also talk about why it's essential to view our emotions from a neutral perspective, rather than labeling them as 'positive' or 'negative.'

I know Valentine's Day can trigger people, either reminding them of their solitude or toxic relationships, but learning to love yourself without needing to fill any void is such a valuable journey! By self-regulating, we can parent and comfort our inner child and truly move towards balance, acceptance, and gratitude for where we are in the present moment. Your mental health, physical health, and spiritual health will thank you. You will feel nourished and be able to show up with full vitality & abundance in your relationships with others!

Thanks for listening, my sweet Valentines! I hope you enjoy this episode.

Why do we struggle so deeply to stick to our routines and stay consistent with the systems we set to achieve our goals? At the core, it's because we lack self-respect. We don't believe we are truly worthy of achieving our goals, so we fail to be a parent to our wounded inner child. From subconscious programming and trauma we've acquired throughout our lives, we might fall victim to limiting beliefs that prey on our insecurities.

We're saying goodbye to this mentality in 2023, and we're staying dedicated, disciplined, consistent, and focused to bring our dreams into reality. In this episode, we chat all about steps you can take to let go of what's holding you back so you can embody your most delicious, spicy, hot girl self!

I'm SO excited to announce that I am officially enrolled in The Institute for Integrative Nutrition and am on track to become a Certified Health Coach! I can't wait to see where this journey takes us. Until next time, cuties!

Welcome to 2023! In this episode, we reflect on some key takeaways from 2022 regarding mental health, manifestation, self-love, self-respect, holistic wellness, and more.

A breakdown of what we cover:

  1. It's ok to let go of people, places, and things that are no longer serving you. Not just ok- essential.
  2. Desperation is the greatest block preventing you from manifesting your goals.
  3. When you feel a visceral reaction in your body, pause and analyze before acting on impulse.
  4. Most entities in life are neutral. It is your perspective that polarizes.
  5. Slowly is the fastest way to get to where you want to be.
  6. Your desire for growth only works if rooted in love for the present moment.
  7. The outcome doesn't matter if you aren't having fun in the process.
  8. If you don't hold yourself accountable, the universe will. Period.
  9. It's important to make decisions and let go of alternate possible outcomes. You're allowed to change your mind later, but decision paralysis serves no one other than those who want to watch you fail.

That's all for today, beautiful friends. I hope your year is full of joy, abundance, consistency, focus, and expansion! Until next week - love, Sarah.

Have you heard people say "we're stuck in the matrix" or felt a need to "escape the matrix?" If so, you're probably feeling trapped in a world that isn't aligning with your needs. The mold is too small for you to expand to your full potential, so you need a change.

You might want to escape your current matrix, but without a clear vision of where you want to land once you exit, you may end up somewhere you don't want to be. In this episode, we chat about how everything is connected through frequencies, why need to reframe our mindsets around "escaping the matrix," and how to lean into your energetic field in order to embody your healed, healthy self. Plus, we get a literal message from our spirit guides. My jaw literally dropped, you guys.

Let's be honest- following your dreams is f'ing scary, even with the right mindset. But are you using escapism to avoid disappointment from not making your dreams a reality? Whether you want to start a business, get into a new career, start a family, or move across the country, you are more than capable of bringing your manifestations to life. The only person holding you back is yourself.

In this episode, we talk about navigating life under pressure, how the only way to grow is by breaking through that pressure, and most importantly, the fact that this doesn't have to be a painful struggle! It's so much simpler than you allow yourself to believe. You are worthy of your dreams, so stop trying to escape them!

Escapism is necessary when performed with healthy coping mechanisms and in moderation, but it can quickly spiral into addictive behavior that can consume your entire life. Stop falling into the trap of instant gratification and tap back into your internal wisdom and divine spirit. Here's how.

We are constantly presented with opportunities to compare ourselves to others thanks to modern market and media. Our unrealistic expectations and pressure we place upon ourselves are often the root of our suffering in life.

You heard it here first, ladies. YOU ARE GOOD ENOUGH! In this episode, I talk about how you can shift your mindset to start feeling content and satisfied in the hear and now. At the end of the day, the present is the only thing that matters, so it's important to learn how to enjoy the process instead of always waiting for the next big thing to "make us happy." No more saying "I'll be happy when..." You are good enough, right here, right now.

Let's chat about it.

In the modern era of Amazon Prime and the iPhone, our willpower is being challenged to the max. Instant gratification, the urge and compulsion to satisfy cravings the second they arise, is a major blockage for many people on the path toward achieving their goals.

In today's episode, I explore how to stay present and patient in order to delay gratification and ultimately create better systems to meet your intentions. 'Everything in moderation' is a good phrase to live by, but instant gratification directly combats this.

It's not always a problem to satisfy your cravings. We deserve a treat sometimes! But when it becomes a habit, it can quickly spiral into a problem. Let's talk about it.

OMG! 10 episodes! Although it may seem like a small accomplishment, this is a huge milestone for me. I think celebrating the smaller accomplishments is so important for staying present and enjoying the process. I feel so thankful that I have the tools, knowledge, and growing community to make this podcast a reality, and that's what this episode is all about - gratitude!

Science is showing more and more that cultivating gratitude can have massive benefits for our physical and emotional health, and I can confidently say I've experienced that first-hand. Counting our blessings can improve our mood and overall sense of optimism, expand our perspective and sense of belonging, lower our blood pressure, and so much more!

I paint a picture of what's been going on in my life recently (hello hypertonic pelvic floor flare-up) and how gratitude and my past experiences are making it so much more manageable. I am proud of my growth, and I am proud of yours! I hope you enjoy this episode!

In today's episode, I explore death, the fear of death, what I think happens when we die, and how we can release fear of this natural part of life,

The thought of dying can be straight-up scary, but that doesn't mean we have to let it consume us. When we go, we go alone, but we get to join all of those who have gone before us, wrapped up in the energy of the universe.

I hope this episode helps you let go of any anxiety surrounding the transition to the next phase and why it's essential that we ground ourselves in the present moment to live life to the fullest. Love you <3

Welcome back, friends. Today's episode is all about the difficult emotions we all inevitably face at some point in life: the complexity that comes with grief. I share some of my personal experiences, how grief can show up in your life, perspectives to move forward, and how to handle complex emotions without fearing them and driving them deep into the subconscious.

We handle some difficult topics in this blog, so brace yourself if you decide to listen. I hope whatever you are going through, this episode helps you feel a little less alone. You are so much more capable than you give yourself credit for. You don't have to heal in a day. You have permission to rest and take up all the space you need. Let's talk about it.

Welcome back, my dears! I know I've been gone for a few weeks, but I have to practice what I preach and rest sometimes! I had the most beautiful experience traveling through France and feel incredibly refreshed with a newfound perspective.

In this episode, I talk about why slow living is so important for us to build the momentum we want to see in our lives. I tap into retraining our minds to view certain words in a neutral light.

Happy Monday, beautiful people! How does the manner in which we talk to ourselves and others impact us on an energetic level? Why are affirmations so powerful? How can we shift our everyday language to manifest everything we desire and live with more gratitude?

These are the questions I attempt to answer in this week’s episode. We talk about how words are literal ‘spell’ magic and can suppress or uplift us. There are simple awareness practices you can implement and language adjustments that can maximize your potential instead of holding you back.

Women, and even some men, have been taught that modesty is the best policy, so using direct, demanding, affirmative language is seen as an ‘unseemly’ thing. I say F this mindset! In order to get what you want, you have to demand it with your words. That doesn’t mean you have to be an a**hole.

How has your mindset around certain words, such as “demanding” been molded based on your experiences?

Welcome back, beautiful friends! Ahh, habits...we love them and we hate them (hate's a strong word that I try not to use, but you get the picture). In fact, we sometimes love to hate them (i.e. Saying 'I'm so busy I got no sleep last night' like a badge of honor). Healthy habits are essential for success so you don't burn out from inefficiently draining yourself of energy. Building positive and uplifting routines and habits is as difficult or as easy as you make it for yourself.

In today's episode, I share my perspective on why habits are so important for our physical, mental emotional, and spiritual health. I go through 7 steps to build new habits to set you up for success!

These are:

  1. Find Your Why
  2. Evaluate Where You're At
  3. Envision Your Ideal Habits
  4. Start Habit Stacking
  5. Remove Obstacles
  6. Track Your Progress
  7. Reward Yourself
