This podcast will take a deep dive into the wide variety of military units that served during WWII, both on the Allies and Axis. Here, I will discuss the training they went through, the unit's campaign, key battles, and include first hand accounts from veteran transcripts and memoirs. In the future, I hope to add a visual aspect showing the gear and uniforms of each unit, and maybe interview others who are well researched in other units.

The 4th ID fight through the Siegfried Line. Here, they experience new battle conditions, but nothing could prepare them for their next grueling campaign: The Hurtgen Forest.
Continuing on through France, the 4th ID advance slows due to the heavily defended hedgerows. The chaos of war becomes more and more apparent as the 4th ID help liberate Paris after 4 long years of occupation. Their advance continues onto the Siegfried Line.

With the drums of war beating in Europe again, the 4th ID needed to be reformed and re-trained as a major build-up of US military forces. Training and reorganizing took place from 1940 up until their first deployment in WWII: D-Day.
