Las Vegas comes to East Lansing as hosts Dan Krier and Ryan Smith look at college football lines locally and nationally.
It’s the final Walk the Line of 2014. What a great year this was! Now it’s on to the 2015 Cotton Bowl for the Michigan State Spartans football team, who will head to Dallas for a New Year’s Day matchup against the 3-point favorite Baylor Bears. Will it be a fourth-consecutive bowl victory for Mark Dantonio? Dan Krier & Brooks Laimbeer break down the best bowls, including the playoff pairings of the Rose Bowl (Oregon -9.5) & Sugar Bowl (Alabama -10), and NFL Week 15 (Detroit -8 vs. the Minnesota Vikings).
Now that the Michigan State Spartans football team has finished the 2014 regular season with a commendable 10-2 record, Dantonio & Co. must sit at home and wonder “what if” as a depleted Ohio State squares off with Wisconsin (-4) at the Big Ten Championship Game in Indianapolis. Is a spot in the College Football Playoff still a possibility for Sparty? Other games this week include the SEC Championship (Alabama -14.5), the ACC Championship (FSU -4.5), and the Pac-12 Championship (Oregon -14.5). Plus there are a couple great NFL games to talk about, like Seattle @ Philly and New England @ San Diego.
One more regular-season game for the Michigan State Spartans football team as they head into Happy Valley as 13-point favorites over Penn State on Saturday afternoon. A win by any means takes Dantonio’s squad to a praiseworthy 10-2, but can the crew cover the spread and establish their right to a Selection Committee Bowl for this holiday season? Orange Bowl, Fiesta Bowl, Peach Bowl…whatever man. Otherwise this Saturday, there are only like 100 other games that are worth watching. Rivalry week for NCAA football. It’s on! So great!
After grinding out a win at Maryland (and covering the -12) last Saturday night, the Michigan State Spartans football team returns to East Lansing for their final home game of the season, favored by 22 points against Rutgers. Do the Spartans have enough motivation to blow out the Scarlet Knights, or will this be a rainy noon kickoff game that sees Rutgers keeping it too close for comfort? Dan Krier & Brooks Laimbeer look at this week’s games (including the Lions +7 @ New England) and discuss the probable NCAA Football Championship Final Four.
There’s no looking back now; only forward to what needs to be done next. After suffering a devastating and deflating home loss to the underdog Ohio St. Buckeyes last week here in East Lansing, the Michigan State Spartans football team must regroup and get the season back on track as they travel to Maryland as 12-point favorites for a night game against the Big Ten newcomer Terrapins.
Now the real season starts! With the Michigan State Spartans football team staring up at both TCU and Kansas State in the most recent NCAA College Football Playoff Poll, it’s going to take a win over the Ohio State Buckeyes on Saturday and a cover of the -3.5 to leave a lasting impression on the selection committee. In a rematch of last year’s Big Ten Championship game, MSU is in need of a convincing victory over Urban Meyer for the second straight season. Other great games Saturday include Notre Dame +2.5 @ Arizona St. and a death match between the aforementioned TCU, who sits at -6 versus K-State.
Happy Halloween from Walk the Line! It’s a bye week for the Michigan State Spartans football team. It’s also a bye week for ex-Michigan Wolverines athletic director Dave Brandon, whose former team was pummeled last week 35-11 by a Spartans squad who showed the world what it’s like to shove it up into someone's misplaced sense of superiority. Props to Dantonio. No more need to be diplomatic.
So some football team with a losing record from Ann Arbor is coming to East Lansing as 16.5-point underdogs on Saturday. That in itself is humiliating, but a cover by the Michigan State Spartans would be even better. Rivalry week is here at MSU, so Dan Krier & Brooks Laimbeer break down the big game on this week’s Walk the Line. There are some other great NCAA and NFL matchups to talk about, but the Spartans vs. the Wolverines is all we students here at MSU really care about. Go Green!
This year’s Michigan State Spartan football team is indisputably impressive, but are they destined to fail out of sheer boredom? The trend became reality last week with yet another 4th quarter filled with mental errors, causing MSU to yet again not cover the spread after holding a considerable lead. Winning alone is not going to be good enough to get into the College Football Playoff. Teams need to win big and establish themselves as the best of the best. A relatively easy road test Saturday vs. the Indiana Hoosiers has MSU -15.5, and the Spartans better play 60 minutes of football at 100%.
The MSU football team survived Nebraska last week by the skin of their teeth, and now it’s on to West Lafayette, where the Spartans are favored by 21 points against the Purdue Boilermakers. There’s potential for trouble, so see if Dan Krier & Brooks Laimbeer think Michigan State can cover the spread.
Overall, this is a fantastic week of college football. The push to the Championship Playoff has truly begun. Here is this week’s menu of games…
Michigan State is ready to roll Wyoming. What a delicious fall menu on this week's Walk the Line. Why say anything else?
Time for Michigan State to wreck a couple people. The Spartans head into Saturday as 45.5-point favorites vs. the Eagles of EMU from Ypsilanti. Yes, that’s a lot. Brooks Laimbeer & Dan Krier discuss this week’s NCAA football top games, wondering if Jameis Winston’s unnecessary public display of deviance will cause FSU to let Clemson stay close. Ryan Smith drops in at the 16min mark to talk NFL Week 3 lines, allowing Dan & Ryan to vent about poor coaching that makes point spreads seem arbitrary. Can someone in charge please act like you deserve it? Thanks!
Brooks Laimbeer joins Dan Krier to discuss this week’s NCAA football point spreads and last week’s tough Michigan State/Oregon game in Eugene. The Spartans played valiantly in a hostile environment and came up short, but the season isn’t buried by any stretch. At the 23min mark, Ryan Smith stops by to talk NFL Week 2 lines with Dan, where the Detroit Lions have a chance to get to 2-0 on the season in a road test at Carolina. Always tough to be right early in the season, but it’s a fun time every week on Walk the Line!

The question is, will they cover? Dan and Brooks break down the most relevant stats to predict their final scores.
