Season 5 begins with a bittersweet milestone. After four years of sharing a vision, a microphone, and so many unforgettable moments, I’m saying farewell to my incredible co-creator.
Working together has shaped not only this podcast, but a huge part of my life. I’m deeply grateful for every laugh, every late-night brainstorm, and every bit of heart they poured into Pole on the Call.
This episode is a celebration, a thank-you, and a tender goodbye all at once. Though our paths are shifting, the impact of what we built together will stay with me always. 💛✨

Pole on the Call — Season 4
Pole Coach and Performer, JazzyBee
In this episode, Cris Rivers & Mændy Mac interview pole coach and performer about her pole dance journey, traveling, and pole community!
BIO:
JazzyBee grew up playing softball and dabbling in other sports throughout college and beyond. She began her pole journey in January 2020 and has enjoyed teaching since 2022. JazzyBee is a self-proclaimed goofball and enjoys teaching all levels and styles, but her own style leans towards acrobatic and artistic tricks and combos. Her teaching and training focus is on building strength and mobility for proper progression for anything from flexibility to powerful tricks to occur safely. Her favorite aspect of pole is the community built around everyone learning to express themselves and cheering on others as they do the same. When she's not doing pole or in the gym, she's working towards her PhD in Immunology or probably outside somewhere.

Pole Coach Molly / Burlesque Performer & Producer Ladybird Vixen
In this episode, Cris Rivers & Mændy Mac interview pole coach Molly, aka Ladybird Vixen as you may know her Burlesque Performer & Producer persona! We learned all about her pole dance journey, her new love for the art of hair hanging, and what it's like to produce a burlesque show!
BIO:
Molly started her pole dance journey in 2013 in Fort Collins, Colorado. She quickly fell in love with the combination of strength and grace that pole offered. She has huge thanks to give to her OG home studio Vertical Fusion for shaping her as a student, performer, and instructor.
Molly is also known as Ladybird Vixen when she takes the stage as a Burlesque performer/emcee/producer. Her show “Pints and Pasties” occurs throughout the year across Connecticut, with multiple shows at New England Cider Company in Wallingford, Connecticut. You can find her at her happiest when she is preparing a new routine (for herself or assisting a student) and getting to unleash her creativity.
One of the many reasons she loves Pole in the Wall so much is because of the variety of classes offered here and she encourages students to give all of the things a try whenever possible!

Best Practices for Pole Studio Owners, with Lauren of Sky High Studios
In this episode, Cris Rivers & Mændy Mac interview Lauren, Owner of Sky High Studios in MA in this special second interview to complete part 2 of our Best Practice series when the topic is about Pole Studio Owners.
DISCLAIMER:
I am not a Legal/Financial/HR Professional. You should consult one before making any changes to your business. All the information I have has been learned through research required to conduct my own business and to correct mistakes I’ve made. The purpose is not to scare other business owners, but to educate to strengthen the pole industry as a whole.
Things every employee should remember:
Pole is a largely unregulated industry and is generally lumped in with gyms/fitness centers when it comes to industry classifications. Most business owners are just trying to do their best. We usually have to be all things to our business and can’t know everything all the time. Have empathy and try to work with your studio as much as possible to resolve questions and issues. All fields have business owners who do shady shit. Be as knowledgeable as you can to protect yourself (regardless of any job you have).
Helpful Documents & Checklists for Pole Teachers & Studio Owners: https://drive.google.com/drive...
BIO:
I’m Lauren and owner of Sky High Studios. I opened the studio in 2013 to provide a safe and supportive environment for those who wanted to experience pole dance.
I started in 2010 after a long illness and I needed something that wasn’t the gym to help me regain strength and confidence in myself. I found that not only through pole dance, but through the people I met, many to this day who are still my closest friends. I started teaching in 2011 and decided to open my own studio with the vision to offer people the same life changing experience I had.
Today, my favorite pole things are rolling around on the floor, telling people they need more booty into their pole moves, and breaking movements down to small bits that help people gain strength and confidence in their movement. And freestyling. Did I mention more booty? I believe that everyone has in them an authentic, expressive self, and I want to help every student find that within.

Pole Dancer and Competitor, GeGe
In this episode, Cris Rivers & Mændy Mac interview the world traveling pole dancer and competitor, GeGe who is a student at Pole in the Wall and Fly Club.
BIO:
I started pole as a form of practicing self love. As a single traveling mom this became a space for me to let out all my emotions. It gives me a stage to show my creativity and also gain strength at the same time. Doing this has challenged my flexibility, strength and mobility. I love the pole community because they are always accepting of your journey. This is something I look forward to continue to do no matter where I land.

BIO:
Michelle Stanek is an internationally-recognized pole dance performer and instructor known for her signature "sexy contemporary" style that blends sensual movement with the grace, extension and control of her classical dance background. An early competitive pole dancer, Michelle won 5 out of the 6 competitions she entered including the 2012 United States Pole Dance Champion title. Her industry-changing performances are notable for their movement innovation, artistry and fluidity.
A passionate and dedicated instructor, Michelle co-created elevatED: pole dance fitness and flexibility teacher trainings, to help instructors provide informed, thoughtful experiences to their students. When not immersed in dance, fitness, and art, she loves exploring the NYC art scene, dancing, bike-riding, adventuring with her adoring and adored husband, a good rooftop pool, and snuggling her son Rocco to the max.

Pole on the Call Podcast — Season 4
Pole Competition Survival with Champion Amandalyn Morighan
In this episode, Cris Rivers & Mændy Mac interview the incredible Pole Coach & Champion Amandalyn Morighan who shares her helpful guide for pole competition survival.
BIO:
Amandalyn started pole in 2020 after seeing someone perform a flying body when she became obsessed with learning the skill. She started classes and began teaching herself reverse grabs in her garage. From the very start power spins were her passion because it feels like flying. She progressed very quickly in her first year, thanks to her background in gymnastics and dance.
In 2021 she competed for the first time in Level 2 at the PSO Atlantic competition and won. The competition bug had officially bitten her. That same year she won a virtual PSO competition in level 3 and by the next APC in 2022, she competed and won level 4 championship. Later in 2022, she also competed in the semi-pro level at The Pole Championship Series at the Arnold. The following year in 2023, she won again at PSO Atlantic, this time in level 4/5 Low Flow with a guitar prop in hand (may that category rest in peace). She also had the honor of performing in the creepy showcase at PoleCon as the killer doll. These are still her top two favorite routines to perform because she gets to really lean into the characters.
In the fall of 2023 Amandalyn competed in her first Professional level competition as a finalist in US Pole Champions. Then in 2024, she competed in Pole Theatre USA and won her first professional title, winning in the Pole Art category and the Overall title. A few months later she competed again as a returning Pro finalist at US Pole Champions, this time winning first place and her 2nd professional title! She also had the opportunity to perform at PoleCon a second time, in the sport showcase.
Amandalyn teaches classes and private lessons at Phoenix Fitness & Dance in Manassas, Virginia. She offers a variety of workshops and would love to come teach them at more studios! Reach out to her on Instagram (@amandalyn.morighan) if you are interested in more information about her workshops.

Pole on the Call Podcast — Season 4
Pole Entrepreneur & Founder of Misfit Aerial, Zoe Bentley
In this episode, Cris Rivers & Mændy Mac interview the amazing Zoe Bentley, who is a Pole Entrepreneur & Founder of Misfit Aerial in Montgomery, IL.
The topic was about changing the way a studio is structured from the typical employee or contractor relationship to instead a network of independent businesses that are able to provide services for their customers within a shared space.
BIO:
Zoe stepped into her first pole studio experience after the birth of her second child in early 2012 and hasn’t stopped since. She’s been a student and member of many local studios in that time and began her teaching career in January 2020.
She specializes in beginner to intermediate level skills for pole, sling, and Lyra with an emphasis on building strong physical foundations to support her students’ aerial journeys.
Zoe’s experiences and observations over the years is what led her to open her own studio where the members are the instructors themselves to conduct their classes for their students with autonomy and the ability to make decisions based on their own customer base.

Pole on the Call Podcast — Season 4
Pole Coach Laura, Owner of Elevated Aerial
In this episode, Cris Rivers & Mændy Mac interview the amazing Pole Coach Laura, who is the Owner of Elevated Aerial in Montgomery, IL.
BIO:
My passion for pole began in 2014 as a student trying a class for the first time. Being a runner who had faced a lot of competition, I was immediately humbled and fascinated! I quickly realized this was not an “instant gratification” sport and if I wanted to chase this passion of mine, I had to connect to myself emotionally, mentally and physically.
Slowly but surely, I grew; from a student going around, up the pole, upside down and eventually as I like to say to my students, doing “all the things.” It felt so amazing I decided I wanted to give that feeling to others and 5 years after starting pole I chose to become an instructor.
In 2019 I became certified as a Vertical Arts Athletics Instructor, since then I have helped hundreds of beloved students from Beginner to Advanced Levels connect to themselves and find their passion for pole and dance movement.
We dance through our seasons of life- growth, change, challenge and happiness! My specialty is finding ways to help you connect with the movement and tricks that are authentic to your body, celebrating what you can do and developing yourself for what you want to do… elevate with me!

Pole on the Call Podcast — Season 4
Pole Dancer and Coach, The Vontastic Poler
In this episode, Cris Rivers & Mændy Mac interview the amazing Pole Dancer and Coach, The Vontastic Poler!
BIO:
The Vontastic Poler, better known as Von, hails from Memphis, TN, but currently resides in the Greater Boston area. She has been poling for almost 6 years and teaching for almost 4 years.
Though never classically trained, she has always had a passion for dance and the way it's allowed self-expression through movement and music. Her movement background spans more than 2 decades and includes liturgical dance, step dance, majorette dance, and unarmed drill team.
Von decided to pursue pole because it looked fun and challenging and felt it would help her tap into her sensual side. Now that she is 6 years in, she has attended pole conferences, taught hundreds of classes, trained with world-renowned pole dancers, performed, and even competed, winning her first competition in the PSO Northeast 2021 DTF Level 3 category. Though it's been more than half a decade of pole, Von feels like she is just getting started and feels excited for where her pole journey will take her in the future.

Pole on the Call Podcast — Season 3
Pole Coach & Performer, Andrew
In this episode, Cris Rivers & Mændy Mac interview Pole Coach & Performer, Andrew about his pole journey and so much more!
BIO:
My name is Andrew Alvarado I’m 27 Years old and I have been a dancer my entire life! I was trained first and foremost by my mother who was an apprentice at Boston Ballet and owned her own ballet studio when I was a young kid! She taught me until she retired the studio and my training continued in tap, jazz, contemporary, and theater! My sister and I followed in our mother’s footsteps with dance as we also fell in love with the art form!
When I was 18 I started substitute dance teaching kids jazz, tap, and contemporary! I then proceeded to teach dance full time in my early 20’s! When I was 24 I discovered pole and my journey from then to now is truly amazing! Being a Dancer and dance teacher has added and continues to add so much electricity to my life! I wouldn’t change it for anything!
I started Pole in 2019 and took my VERY first pole class at North Shore Pole Fitness where I subsequently teach at now! My number one dance influence / idol is Jennifer Lopez! She is the reason I fell in love with pole after seeing her 2019 movie “Hustlers” which was the soul inspiration that caused me to start Pole!
After I started after a year and some change I started teaching at the very studio I started at which is very special and very full circle for me! My students would probably best describe me as the energizer bunny! My passion for dance is definitely reflected in my classes! I get so excited seeing my students progress and grow into artists! In my classes you can expect challenges, growth, and a lot of sweat!
I love seeing myself in my students when I teach knowing their excitement they get when they achieve certain moves remembering how I felt when I unlocked certain moves! I can’t wait to see where my students end up in their artistic journey!
And here’s a link to a professional video of me poling!

Pole on the Call: Pole Dancer Lindsey, Owner of Wonderland Pole & Dance
In this episode, Cris Rivers & Mændy Mac meet Pole Dancer Lindsey, who is the Owner of Wonderland Pole & Dance in Richland, WA.
Bio:
Hey you, I’m Lindsey, owner of Wonderland and I’m also very much a misfit, rebel, not so ladylike, boundary pusher who is passionate about doing things that scare her {YOLO!}, the golden rule, rainbows, butterflies, laughing, and being kind. Raised a Texas girl who never quite seemed to fit in anywhere, I left the moment I could to follow a Soldier around the world and along the way become a mother of 4, a published boudoir/glamour photographer, a licensed trauma informed lifestyle coach and a pole dancer.
In 2021, our family firmly planted roots in Tri-Cities and I felt utterly lost without a dedicated pole studio like I was used to. For me, the pole studio is a place I can always go to just be me, let go of the drama, have fun, be silly, cheer others on, learn from passionate instructors, do crazy stuff that leaves bruises, shake my booty and reclaim my sanity in a brave, welcoming, judgment free environment.
I made a promise to myself, to the women I’ve already met and to all the people I’ve yet to meet to build that brave space with the goal to empower you to dance, grow muscles, make friends, find community, seek joy and flip the world upside down whenever it doesn’t make sense. My sincere hope is for YOU to unleash your inner badass within Wonderland & that I have the privilege of cheering you on as you do!
I hope you dance.

Pole on the Call: International Pole Coach, Sasja Fierce
In this episode, Cris Rivers & Mændy Mac meet International Pole Coach, Sasja Fierce and learn about her amazing pole career and where she currently teaches.
Bio:
Sasja embarked on her pole journey in 2009 with no athletic or dance background, becoming an instructor within 4 months. She later became 2013 California Pole Dance Champion, 2014 National Aerial Pole Art Champion, 2014 Ink-N-Iron Champion and 2017 Pole Theatre Iceland Classique Pro Champion.
Pole dance opened many doors for Miss Fierce, including the opportunity to perform at Coachella Music Festival with recording artist Halsey and music video with Fergie, under the guidance of world renowned choreographer, Fatima Robinson. Sasja also choreographed a pole segment for the French Montanna tour, as well as appeared on Telemundo, Lifetime, Justin TV and a Fiat commercial.
Sasja has shared her love of expression through movement across the nation and abroad, teaching workshops with emphasis on technique, as well as the necessary mental component, as she believes true growth occurs from the inside out. Every human deserves the opportunity to find their true passion and to live unapologetically fierce.

Pole on the Call: Meet Pole Performer & Coach, Kelly Anne
In this episode, Cris Rivers & Mændy Mac meet Meet Pole Performer & Coach, Kelly Anne of Fly Together Fitness in MA.
Bio:
Pronouns: she/her/hers
Kelly Anne is an instructor at Fly Together Fitness, local performer, and nanny. Kelly Anne joined Fly Together Fitness as a student in January 2020 and later became an instructor in January 2022. Although a classically trained ballet dancer the discipline was beginning to aggravate her newly diagnosed physical disability. This change lead her to find a new way of movement and creative expression via pole dance and fitness. In a domino effect Kelly Anne then also began to better understand her physical and mental needs to keep her healthy, both on and off the pole.
Through pole Kelly Anne has learned how to carve her own path as a creative, at her own pace in a rushed world. As a dancer her passion is slow, sensually embodied movement. As an instructor Kelly Anne enjoys challenging students in ways that may typically be overlooked, but further encourage the mind-body connection (like, if I want to end the combination in a handstand how high up on the pole do I need to start?)

Pole on the Call: Meet Savvie & Vickie of RevolVT!
In this episode, Cris Rivers & Mændy Mac meet Meet Savvie & Vickie of RevolVT in Vermont.
Bios:
Vickie - Vickie began her pole journey after seeing a pole dancer perform in an opera (yes, opera) and since 2016 has made pole a passionate part of her identity. She studied and taught pole with Bohemienne Fitness in Burlington, Vermont, has studied with over 20 different pole studios across the world, and placed 1st in the 2019 Level 3 Dramatic Pole Sports Organization (PSO) competition. Her love of pole comes from the amazing journey of watching her body evolve, her self-confidence blossom, and sharing the joy and struggle of pole with other diverse and beautiful humans!
Vickie’s teaching style is one of positive vibes, honesty, and healthy, balanced athleticism. She teaches from a place of humble skill and works to help students find their own unique connection to each trick and movement.
Savvie - Savvie comes to RevolVT as a former student of Bohemienne Fitness and member of Green Mountain Cabaret. They perform under the stage name Ruthless Retribution, and have studied and performed burlesque, stripping, and cabaret under multiple tutors since 2012. They came to pole dance in 2016 with a love and reverence for the stripping community and all things seductive. Savvie’s teaching style incorporates sultry elements of performance and collective choreography to release the sensuality within.

Pole on the Call Podcast: Strength & Conditioning Coach Fran of Body By Fran Training
In this episode, Mændy Mac & Cris Rivers catch up with Fran of Body by Fran, who is a Strength & Conditioning Coach. We met with her a year ago and were so happy to catch up again to learn more about her flexibility training using weights, as well as her PoleStrong Method and Certification.
BIO:
Hi, I'm Fran! I started my pole journey after working in the health & fitness industry for over 25 years and I am passionate about helping you reach your health and fitness goals.
When I first started pole dancing, I had a hard time balancing my pole training with training off the pole and there was no one out there who understood my dilemma!
So I put my sports conditioning experience to work and developed the PoleStrong Method of Training, which I use personally and in every Body by Fran program.
I'm 55 years old and my body feels better than ever. My method is your key to doing pole for life.
As a professional pole athlete, I have traveled the world performing and competing and I’m super proud to say that I am the 2017 World Pole Art Championships Silver Medalist, as well as the 2017 PSO Seaboard Championships Bronze Medalist.
It's my goal to help you build the body of your dreams. A body that feels strong, looks healthy, and resists injury from this demanding activity that we love!

Pole on the Call: Season 2, Episode 16
Pole in the Wall's New Studio #PoleDownTheHall
In this episode, Cris Rivers & Mændy Mac give you a tour of Pole in the Wall's new studio space, called Pole Down the Hall…right down the hall from our Main Studio at 95 Mill Street in Springfield, MA.
The new studio has 2 permanent Lupit poles that are 13' tall (taller than our Main Studio!) and one XStage Pole that we have the LyraPole and Silkii attachments for, as well as a Silicone Pole which has been a wonderful tool to use along with the stainless steel poles.
Pole Down the Hall is kind of like a club house, with a bean bag area to chill and charge your phone, and even a private outdoor space if you need to get away from your pole tricks for a moment and clear your head looking at the Mill River flowing right outside.
The new studio has classes running at the same time as the Main Studio, so you can plan your visit to us and enjoy both studios in the same day. We offer morning and evening classes during the week, and morning and afternoon classes on the weekends. And we have lots of classes offered online too!
We love the new space because it also has a larger dance floor, so we can have different dance and fitness class options for our students, like POUND Fitness, Flex Fit, Gentle Pole Yoga, Heels Dance, Conditioning & Mobility, Ballet, Zumba, and Bachata.
Check out our schedule at https://poleinthewall.punchpas... and sign up for a class with Cris Rivers, Mændy Mac, or any of our amazing Pole in the Wall coaches in Springfield, MA or online via Zoom.

Pole on the Call: Season 2, Episode 13
Meet Pole Coach & Recording Artist, Matthew!
In this episode, Cris Rivers & Mændy Mac meet Pole Coach & Recording Artist, Matthew!
Let us know how you like our episode and share with a pole friend!
About Matthew:
Matthews journey began when his/her/their grandfather traveled from Palermo, Sicily thru Ellis Island in pursue for a better life to provide for his family. Matthews family eventually settled in Brooklyn NY.
The Queensboro Institute of Music & Dance was acquired by his/her/their Grandfather and ran for over 50+ years where inside, Matthew’s movement & music journey began. While growing up Matthew had occasional visits to his/her/their Aunt Sandra Aldini’s dance classes at LaGuardia HS, learning along side some of New York’s most iconic artists of our time.
Matthew knew that they did not fit the mainstream artist mold from an early age which made him/her/they/that bitch more passionate to be authentic. After relocating from NY to Texas- while still in high school, Dec 2004, Matthew continued his/her/their dance journey in the ‘Dirty South’ learning different styles of dance, eventually acquiring his/her/their Fine Arts Degree In Fort Worth TX, with Velocity Dance Company, dancing alongside well known artists like Leon Bridges.
Student by day, Matthew had to get creative to pay for tuition, simultaneously dancing inside Uptown Dallas’ gay bars thus meeting the pole inside the club, self-teaching to pole dance while earning tips. In 2010, Matthew was turned down from Dallas’s only pole studios thus making it impossible for him/her/them to learn formally inside a pole studio, forcing Matthew to be a self taught stripper, until moving to Austin Texas in 2014. Brass Ovaries, in Austin TX was the first studio known to openly accept male pole dancers.
Since 2017, Matthew has trained at many studios formally throughout the US & Mexico, acquiring titles as Worlds First Pole Pageant Queen & Worlds First US Pole Sport Federations Male Classique Competitor and many more competition wins under his/her/their belt.
Better known for their raw feminine energy and sultry, unique ways, it is clear that Matthew has absorbed a sense of style and shapes within the lights & shadows of the raves and the gay strip bars throughout his/her/their one of a kind movement journey.
Currently Matthew studies digital audio in Austin Texas while traveling to teach pole throughout the United States.
Book Matthew at your studio for your next workshops!

Pole on the Call: Season 2, Episode 12
Meet Lacin Keles of Magnetic Pole Fit!
In this episode, Cris Rivers & Mændy Mac meet Lacin Keles, the Owner of Magnetic Pole Fitness in San Jose, CA.
Let us know how you like our episode and share with a pole friend!
Lacin Keles is the founder of Magnetic Pole Fit. Born and raised in Turkey, Keles lived in Russia, stayed in Costa Rica, and traveled to various countries until she moved to California in 2015. Keles has a diverse dance background and besides her pole dance training in Russia, she has trained in flamenco, ballet, modern, and contemporary dance. As a multicultural dancer with a diverse movement lexicon, she uses movement and dance to explore her identity as a woman and to empower women around the world to realize and reach their full potential.
Lacin has been performing and choreographing around the Bay Area since 2016. She has founded her dance & performance company Lacin Keles Movement in 2021. In her artistic work, Keles merges the strength and artistic expression of pole dancing with contemporary dance and uses somatically-driven contemporary pole dance as a medium. She has a BS in mechanical engineering and MFA in Dance – Creative Practice from St Mary’s College of California. Lacin worked in corporate world for 9 years as a mechanical engineer until she quit and shifted her profession to what she loves! Keles is a AFAA certified group fitness instructor, XPERT certified pole fitness instructor, ballet and contemporary dance teacher.
Keles has developed a unique movement practice by applying multiple somatic movement principles to pole dancing functionality and expressivity. Her MFA thesis is the first in the literature on somatic movement applications in pole dancing performance and choreography. She has been invited to speak at prestigious national and international somatic movement conferences and symposiums. Keles has been featured in media and her work has been covered in the Content Magazine.
Keles finds immense joy in bringing dance to everyone regardless of background, body type, gender, and age. Her pedagogy focuses on the importance of: finding connections within our bodies, personal uniqueness, building relationships with the pole and our environment, moving with ease and flow.
She believes that anything is possible at any age. She believes that with continuous practice and hard work, we can achieve any task. Lacin has built Magnetic Pole Fit around these beliefs. She says: “We, women, are stronger than we think or we have been taught. We only need motivation and encouragement. We need to reconnect with the wild woman we have inside! Again!”
Magnetic Pole Fit was first opened its doors in 2018 with the aim of empowering women through pole and dance. Until the pandemic hit in March 2020, we offered pole, dance, lyra, and flexibility classes to hundreds of people in San Jose, CA. Pole studios remained closed for almost a year in San Jose due to the pandemic. It was a very hard decision but we had to close the physical location late in 2020. In May 2022, Lacin started offering pole classes in a small space in San Jose and finally we started fully operating again in our new location in September 2022 with our instructors and variety of pole & off-the pole classes.
Magnetic Pole Fit is an exclusive space for pole, dance, and movement located in San Jose, CA. Our small class sizes ensure that our students receive a personalized training experience and individual attention. Magnetic Pole Fit is not a traditional pole dance studio. We use X-Stage Lite poles and we offer small class sizes with 1 person per pole for most of our classes.
Lacin Keles, mover, teacher, and owner of MPF, applies a professional somatic background in her approach to pole dance functionality and expressivity. Her MFA thesis is the first in the literature on somatic movement applications in pole dance performance and choreography. Honoring all bodies, we encourage moving with ease, finding joy & flow in pole dance and movement.
We appreciate personal uniqueness and encourage creative movement. Magnetic Pole Fit welcomes all movers, dancers, aerialists, and extended community members regardless of background, body type, or skill level.

We learn all about Reel Pole Dance Studio in Billings, MT!
In this episode, Cris Rivers & Mændy Mac interview Cody Reel, Owner of Reel Pole Dance Studio in Billings, MT and learn all about what they offer to the pole world.
Let us know how you like our episode and share with a pole friend!
About Reel Pole Dance Studio in Billings, MT:
Reel Pole Dance Studio offers private lessons, open pole hours, and group classes. Our current goals are to offer alternative fitness options, create a healthy social environment, and support those looking to express their competitive and creative urges through pole dance competitions and showcases.
All ages (18 and up), genders, and identifications are welcome at RPD Studio. Members have access to all training and safety equipment at all times. These include crash mats, resistance bands, foam mats, and yoga blocks.
The owner and main instructor Cody Reel has been pole dancing full time for over five years and coaching pole dancers for a little over three years. Her background is in sparts as a collegiate athlete, athletic trainer, and personal trainer. Her personal goal is for her dancers/athletes to become self aware of their bodies and learn how to train safely and efficiently toward their own goals.
A current project of the studio is called "Operation Silhouette", we are currently curating pole merchandise that represents real pole dancers. We want it to be common knowledge that pole dancers do not have a singular body type. In our future online shop everything will have options for different shaped dancers and we hope people feel represented and connected knowing that the awesome silhouette of a dancer on their shirt is a real person who is an actual pole dancer just like the buyer.
Fun Fact! The dancer on the logo is a member of RPD Studio named Shay.

Pole on the Call: Season 2, Episode 3
Aerial Arts Fitness in Jewett City, CT
In this episode, Cris Rivers & Mændy Mac interview the owners of Aerial Arts Fitness in Jewett City, CT and get a tour of their pole and aerial studio.
Let us know how you like our episode and share with a pole friend!
More About Aerial Arts Fitness:
In 2012, a friend called me and said she wanted to try pole dancing and would I come with her. She said I was the ONLY person she could think of adventurous enough to try it. Well, I tried it and was instantly hooked. Something about this art form grabbed hold of me and wouldn’t let go.
The power, strength and beauty of the women in the class blew me away and I knew this wasn’t just a passing hobby. We opened our first studio later that year and little did I know then that I would find a whole new family of like-minded women and men.
People who pole aren’t looking for a traditional gym workout. They are looking for something challenging mentally and physically and something fun! Pole is a form of athletic expression unlike anything else. I truly believe that as physical strength and health grows, so does emotional strength.
I am amazed every day watching my students blossom into confident, happy, healthy people. Find something you love and it’s no longer a workout. It’s play, it’s art, it’s fitness —Angela Chabot Founder Our two room studio offers 40 classes a week.
Our pole room has 10 poles with heated floors. We just purchased a XFly pole this past month. In our aerial room we offer hammock, silks, Lyra, static trapeze, lollipop, aerial moon. Two studio cats- Cashew and Hazel.

Meet Pole Coach & Studio Owner, Emily Aygun!
In this episode, Cris Rivers & Mændy Mac interview Emily Aygun, Pole Coach and owner of Altius Pole Studio in Bend, Oregon.
Let us know how you like our episode and share with a pole friend!
Emily Aygun's Bio: My name is Emily Aygun, and I am a pole studio owner in Bend, OR who opened our doors in the midst of the pandemic in 2021. We are a trauma-informed pole studio space that focuses on progressive & accessible pole for all identities, sexes and people.
All of our instructors have gone through a trauma-informed pole instructor training and we have become a safe space and haven for a lot of people especially during COVID. Having gone through a large amount of trauma within my life time and developing CPTSD and later being diagnosed with ADHD in my 30s, I found that pole dancing had become an incredible outlet not only for me to use movement expression as a form of therapy, but also an incredible way for me to utilize vestibular movement to help control my ADHD.
My goal with pole dancing and my studio is to give a voice to everyone who enters my space or trains with me as a form of self expression and to release parts of ourself we didn’t even know we needed to. My background stems from being a personal trainer and corrective exercise specialist for 15 years, specializing in watching and identifying incorrect movement patterns and helping break the mold on how exercises are not a one size fits all.
I’ve worked extensively with all different body types and ailments to help my students and clients achieve their fitness goals by finding new and individual pathways to achieve their goals (and/or) moves. It’s easy for us to get a weekend certification and learn how to teach a ballerina. But can you teach it to all body types? That is what I do!

Pole on the Call: Episode 27
Meet Pole Dancer and Instructor, Mallory Nicole!
In this episode, Cris Rivers & Mændy Mac interview the amazing Pole Dancer and Instructor, Mallory Nicole of Tease Dance & Fitness in Aurora, IL.
Let us know how you like our episode and share with a pole friend!
Mallory Nicole's Bio:
So a little about me…. The first time I ever tried pole dancing was in 2006. I was barely 19 and needed some extra cash for a trip I was going to be taking. I was a single mother and had my daughter while I was still in high school. At the time of my first experience, I was a licensed hair dresser barely making ends meet. I figured I would do an amateur night as the first place prize was $500 and I needed it. I had zero idea what I was doing. I spent the last of my extra cash on some dance heels and got my butt on stage. I actually won the prize but what I realized was I felt at home on stage. I quickly realized that working in a gentleman’s club was what I needed to do for my daughter and I.
I worked in a couple of clubs during my early twenties. But then I got married and had more children. My love for the pole was so strong so I installed a home pole. I was not properly trained and only knew a couple basic spins. In 2013, I set a five year goal of starting classes, doing a competition and becoming an instructor. Unfortunately, one of the things I had fallen into while being a stripper was the lifestyle. I lived fast and I lived hard. My goals were mere dreams at that time as I was battling alcoholism.
I got sober in May of 2018. I was getting myself back but lacked any confidence to start taking classes. It wasn’t until 2019 that I decided to take the plunge. I signed up for beginner classes as Tease Dance and Fitness in Aurora, IL. I fell in love with the studio and the classes. But what I gained was so much more than fitness. I gained my sexy back. I gained my confidence back as a woman and a mother. I also gained a community of strong, badass women whom I now consider family.
I was only a few months into taking classes when the world shut down due to covid. I ordered a Lupit pole and self taught for a couple of months until we re-opened. Then we got shut down a second time. I fell into a deep depression and barely poled at home. Even after we re-opened again… I was having feelings of not being as far along as I would have liked. I was angry and discouraged but I kept showing up to classes. Some days at home, I would pole for hours. Other days I would touch it and then walk away because I wasn’t feeling it. What I have learned through this journey, is to give myself grace during the difficult times.
Pole has always been there for me in one way or the other. I just finished my instructor training and taught my first intro class last night. That is a whole new level excitement that I can not explain. I am reaching my goals. Maybe not on the timeline my ego would like but I am attaining them as and when I should. I have yet to do an in person competition but I did do an online comp during covid shutdown.

In this episode, Cris Rivers & Mændy Mac interview Pole Coach, Competitor, and Entrepreneur Sara of Bee's Knees Kneepads.
Read Sara Bee's Biography:
Sara Bee is the solopreneur behind Bee’s Knees Knee Pads. She’s been pole dancing since 2013. Her first class was at Love Pole Fitness and Aerial Arts in Bellingham, Massachusetts, and she became an instructor there in 2015. Teaching an intense floorwork class every week is what led her to create Bee’s Knees Knee Pads, the sleek and sexy pole dance knee pads that strap on and strip off. They are the only pole dance knee pads on the market that are specifically designed for pole dance and the people who do it.
These days, she’s busy teaching 6 pole dance classes per week at Love Pole Fitness, while also working to turn her small business into a brand that goes beyond pole dance knee pads. The newly branded BKKP is your go to source for pole dance essentials. The energy that went into creating The Bee's Knees Knee Pad is what's behind The Pole Instructor Planbook, The Ultimate Pole Goal Notebook, The Pole Bag, and The Floorwork Shrug.
As a pole dance instructor and business owner, she’s a busy bee, but she still makes time to be a student. Her 2022 goal is to visit a new pole studio each month, which brought her to Pole in the Wall at the end of May.

Meet Pole Dancer and Competitor, Roman Dominate
In this episode, Cris Rivers & Mændy Mac interview the amazing Roman Dominate, who is a pole dancer, and competitor.
Roman Dominate's Biography:
My name is Roberto Manuel (RoMan Dominate)
I started with Pole because my fiance suggested I attend a class with him to try to get my mind off of personal and professional issues that I was going through at the time and I thought to myself why not? My life at the time consisted of my three sons, terminally diagnosed father, working as a Case Manager for a Substance Abuse Recovery Program, home life and my CADAC class. To say that participating in Pole has done wonders for me, not only physically, but mentally and emotionally would be a huge understatement. I am a Veteran of two deployments who has issues with PTSD, while battling the image society has boxed me into for being a homosexual man.
I have been doing Pole for nearly three months now and I truly enjoy it. It allows me to show off my strength, creativity, self expression and feeling comfortable with my body in public. Participating in Pole has allowed me to improve my body with the physicality of Pole, it has allowed me to be less self conscious of my body, to just enjoy the moment as life too short.

An Excerpt from Scarlett Inferno's Bio:
I retired from a career as an alcohol and drug addictions professional on January 1 2000. just in time to experience the covid 19 pandemic with the rest of the human race! Being that I had been diagnosed with diabetes and high blood pressure and was entering my late 60's, I knew I was at elevated risk for my health. So, I went on a health kick . At first I walked/hiked almost every day. Then when things opened up a little more I joined a senior hiking group. I actually lost weight during covid! I then began to take beginner ballet classes designed for people in my age group. I had had someone in my class that also took pole dancing classes in the same town.
So in January of 2021 at age 67, I took my very first pole dancing class. Being that I had some medical issues the owner of the pole studio required me to obtain medical clearance from my physician. Fortunately, he was all for it as long as "you're not upside down for 1/2 an hour!"
At my first class I barely survived the warm up. II was such a newbie that I did not even own a yoga mat so I brought a beach towel ( I live at the Jersey Shore after all!). The instructor/owner graciously lent me a studio mat to use. 95% of the exercises she had me do I had never done before, so I was quite a bit lost. I have never been an athlete ,never had a gym membership, never took any regular exercise classes. So just the warmup was new to me!
So, I managed to get through the first class in one piece even thought I could not even get up on the pole. I mentioned to the instructor that attempting to climb the pole brought back my bad memories of failing to climb a rope in gym class as a kid. I had forgotten all about that. Then she said , well "this is harder". So one of my best pole successes happened about 8 months later when I was finally able to climb that same pole all the way to the top and back down several times with the same instructors help!
Ok, this is not turning out to be so short but to continue: I didn’t give up and actually joined two local pole studios. One of them offered a beginner performance series which I was able to join. Five of us who had never performed before worked on a group routine every week for two months and then performed at that studio's spring showcase last year. Well that was so much fun, I have been in six more performances since then, three of which were actual competitions.
Besides pole, I also do chair and incorporate chair into my performances and competitions. I now have my own performance chair which I have decorated with pole dancer decals. I brought it to Boston and had two other really good dancers borrow it for their acts. So my chair got way more stage time that I did! And, my chair won three medals Besides our bronze, the two dancers who borrowed the chair both won gold!
As I note on my Instagram page, I identify as trans (transgender). So, I have whole lot of history there! I am not the type of trans person who has had any gender confirmation surgery or has taken hormones. At times I identify as gender fluid. I used to be very politically active in the trans community. I am also 34 years sober and still go to 12 step meetings.
I have been together with my wife, Marybeth, for over 32 years and we have been married for 6 years. We started taking ballet together in the fall of 2020 but when I started pole she just rolled her eyes and said "You're on your own with that!" Except, after she saw me perform and saw how supportive, friendly and enthusiastic everyone in pole seems to be, she started taking some pole classes herself!

Baby_stud_Muffin is a competitive pole dancer and an aspiring performance artist based in New York City. Without any previous background in movement or dance, he started his journey in pole dancing at Body and Pole 4 years ago. In no time, pole art, with its diverse art form and inclusive culture, became the air he breathe and the one thing that he could not live without. To him, pole dancing gifted him a way to express himself artistically and to develop a sense of community and friendship. Over the past 4 years, he has performed in various public and virtual performance venues, including Body and Pole Showcases, Summer Street NYC 2019, and Let Them Eat Cake. In November 2021, he competed in the PSO Boston Dramatic category Level 4 section. Profoundly affirmed by the comradery and dedication showcased by his fellow competitor, it is his goal to persevere in his pole journey by competing in PSO Championship Level 5 by the end of 2022. In Episode 4 we interview The Pole Dance Life Coach and Boston Pole Fitness Instructor Jamie Wong.
From small-town Virginia, Jamie has been pole dancing for 10 years. She started off in the club, but quickly realized she wasn’t cut out for that life. She signed up for pole dance classes to see how she could build on her existing pole skills.
She has competed at PSO many times, earning a few silver and gold medals. When she’s not getting slinky, flexy, and strong on the pole, she enjoys reading, eating authentic Chinese food with her hubby, and spending time with their cat, Charles.

Mændy started her professional performance career out of high school as a Stripper in CT & VA, and after college toured with modern dance companies Clark Dance Theatre and Soma Dance Company. She was a founding member of the Beat City Beauties Burlesque Troupe, and the Director of circus troupe, Cirque To Go. Mændy and her business partner Maryna opened dance studio Pole in the Wall in Springfield, MA in 2018, and then Mændy became sole owner in 2021.
With her degree in Dance, Mændy has a background in ballet, modern, tap, and jazz styles. Mændy has also trained for aerial arts on trapeze, lyra, and of course the pole where you can find her exploring her love of low flow, floor work, and sensual styles.
In the competitive pole dance world since 2015, Mændy and those she has coached, have won medals from Pole Sport Organization and United States Pole Dance Federation. Most recently, Mændy qualified for PSO Nationals and competed as a finalist in the 2021 PSO Artistic Professional Championships in August. Mændy volunteered as a judge for the PSO Northeast Championships in Boston, MA in November, 2021.
Mændy is certified to teach pole and flexibility from the elevatED training at Body & Pole in NYC, and takes every opportunity to continue her education in this ever-evolving sport.
