I've learned that taking a pause to reassess and differentiate between reality and the negative chatter in my head is crucial.
Whether you're feeling like nothing in your life is going well or you've hit a bump in a specific project, this meditation can help you recenter and regain perspective. Remember, sometimes a small pause is all it takes to get back on track.

As you begin to practice meditation, it's normal to want more space in your meditations to practice returning your focus to your chosen anchor (breath, body, sounds). While the silence can be challenging, it's in those moments that the real work of meditation takes place. This meditation gives you more silence and provides an opportunity to continually return your attention to your anchor. By practicing this skill, you'll not only improve your focus and clarity during meditation, but also in your daily life. I encourage you to try to embrace the silence and use it as an opportunity to strengthen your brainpower. Enjoy it!

We all want that noise in our head to be more gentle, but it can be tough to quit the negativity. By relaxing and introducing thoughts of compassion and forgiveness we start to see all of the good within ourselves and life gets easier. This meditation is a great gift to self for valentine's day and it's a practice that is useful when we're being a bit too hard on ourselves. Enjoy the recording.

This podcast was born from an attendee's profound insight shared during my recent wellness event. They had previously viewed self-care as just another task on their to-do list. However, after experiencing the simple act of taking a few deep breaths and pausing, they realized that self-care doesn't have to be extraordinary or burdensome. In fact, it can be seamlessly integrated into our daily lives. Join me in this guided practice as we explore the path to a more easeful and enjoyable self-care journey.

Hey meditators! I am frequently asked, “How do I stop the noises in my head?”. The good news is that we all have an inner narrator who worries and makes lists and can be really negative! The even better news is we don’t need to stop the chatter to quiet it down. All we need to do is treat it with kindness and give it space.

Do you want to live passionately but you’re afraid to do the thing you LOVE to do/must do/were born to do? I was there too.
I've worked for 6 companies in the last 13 years and for 10 years I’ve been moving closer and closer to doing what I LOVE full time. I found yoga because I needed a tool to manage my burnout from work. Over time, my wellness journey evolved from yoga to reiki energy healing to mindfulness meditation so I could learn to calm my racing thoughts and take better care of myself.
"We teach what we need."
Meditation worked wonders for me because it helped me focus on my wellbeing. In 2019 I knew that in order to make a positive impact in a BIG way, I needed to work in healthcare. Through dedication and hard work, I began managing wellness events, became a life coach, and worked for almost 3 years in hospitals supporting employee wellbeing.
And here we are today! I'm just a human who didn't give up. I'm a person who has been on the other side of anxiety and exhaustion and hopelessness and I want to remind you that there are tools (like meditation) that can help reduce the brain fog, increase focus and help you accomplish your goals.
I'm also here to announce that I am officially doing what I am most passionate about! As of August 2023, I am running my wellness company Liz Coaches full time!!
After years teaching the benefits of taking a mindful pause, I'm going to take a one month pause from the podcast, my newsletter and social media to reset my mind and body as I prepare for this big transition. I encourage you to do what you need to do this summer to take care of your wellbeing too.
Thank you so much for your support over the last year and a half of running the podcast. I'll be back with even more aliveness and excitement to bring you meditations in the fall.
For now, sit back and relax todays short meditation and remember that there are almost 150 free meditations on this podcast available 24/7 to help ease your racing mind! See you soon!

It's International Self-care Day today and I'm excited to practice pausing together. I have busy days where a lot is expected of me from wake-up, to bed time. I've found that taking mini-breaks is the most effective way for me to stay positive, focused and connected to myself. Enjoy this short pause and plan times throughout your day for more 5-minute pauses.

Over the past 6 months I keep hearing, "trust the process" from wise and successful people about my business, my career and my wellbeing. I'm starting to think they are all onto something.
We tend to over effort and expect immediate results but good things take time. Meditation can and will change your life if you let it AND it takes time to see the rewards of patience, relaxation, focus and kindness. Today we lower our expectations of the practice and allow ourself to enjoy the ease of breathing and sitting.

Anxiety presents as an alarm in the body that drives thoughts of worry and overthinking. Doctors see anxiety as a body issue of old wounds that we try and make sense through the mind. Therefore, anxiety is a feeling based issue instead of mind based process.
Most of us know anxiety can be completely paralyzing so today I offer tangible tools to heal.

When you don't believe in yourself remember that it's just a thought! Thoughts propel us into the unknown future and back to the past. The BODY tells us how we are now. Pausing to still and listen to the body is the first step to trusting ourself.
In this mediation we reflect on our values and use them as a guide toward believing that we know what we need.

This week we use a meditation called open monitoring to increase creativity.
Did you know...?
One way to support creativity is open monitoring mediation where you start by focusing on your natural breath and then you open up to all experiences without preference and judgement.
Here is the basics of the practice :
Open monitoring meditation reduces involvement in brain regions related to memory function. When you suppress memory, there are more possibilities of what could be.
Now that you know the why behind this style of meditation, give it a try!
Let's connect!
If you love my meditations, I invite you to join me live on 3/18 where I'll be teaching open monitoring.

Today I’m bringing you a 5-minute mindfulness exercise to reduce distraction and increase focus. (The fist 2 minutes is the explanation of what we are doing!)
By practicing this technique for even 1-minute during the day, you are strengthening your ability to be more present.
If you're new to the podcast, welcome to Liz Coaches! I’m Liz Gluckstern Frydman and I’m here to show you that meditation can help improve your focus, reduce anxiety and sharpen your brain. Each week, I’ll teach you a simple mindfulness meditation to keep you in control of your wellbeing.
Press play if you’re ready to meditate!
If you’re new to practice or if you’ve never understood the definition of mindfulness, I’ll make it easy. Mindfulness is the practice of paying careful attention to what’s arising on its own. When you are not mindful you may feel detracted, on autopilot, not present in your own life, and you might miss the beauty of the blossoming buds. In meditation we practice the skills of mindfulness by choosing to be aware of an experiences such as breathing or sitting and when you're lost in thought, you kindly come back to the chosen experience.
That’s it!
This practice quickly opens you up from being mindful of breath, body sensations and emotions to being mindful (without judgement) of thoughts themselves. Thoughts are not your enemy, they are simply arising, changing and disappearing. Once you’re able to be more gentle towards the thoughts that arise, you’ll be free to live your life.

My offerings are available on lizcoaches.com
Keep meditating!
We are the least focused and most overwhelmed in human history. Most of our plates are already full with work, home, and care taking responsibilities and distractions like cell phones, news, social media and information overload make it hard for us to get clear.
To combat distraction we must calm the body and focus on one thing at a time. In today's meditation we use the breath as our anchor and use the mental label "in" and "out" to keep our focus on our breath.
Is distraction preventing you from getting what you want out of life? If your team burnt out and unfocused? Let's work together.

A racing mind is the 2nd most common barrier that keeps people from meditating. We just have too many thoughts!
We don't have 1 million (which is the most common guess), but we DO have around 60,000 thoughts a day. YIKES!
There is something you can do, and that's calm the body and meditate. We can not take thoughts for facts, we can let thoughts go and we can practice not judging thoughts. Let's do this together.
Want to meditate in community? You're invited to learn meditation with us on February 18th at 10AM EST.

Ah gratitude. It's SUCH a beneficial practice. In today's mindfulness session we will cultivate feelings of gratitude for our body and the ordinary. Taking in the good around us is one of the many ways to practice gratefulness.
I promise that by practicing gratitude (out loud, in a notebook or sharing with others) regularly you will feel happier and more connected.
Let's try it!
I know what you're thinking. Loving kindness?! Eek!
Studies confirm that by extending thoughts of safety, health and happiness to others makes us less of a jerk. Here we feel what comes with wishing well upon others and ....(here's the hard part) ourselves! We finish the mindfulness meditation by extending warmth to ourselves. Don't worry, it won't hurt you or make you weak.
I hope these phrases of love (may you be well, may you be at peace, may I be happy, may I be healthy) leave you feeling a bit more connected to all of humanity.
Keep up the great work.

Life's a lot more pleasant when we are kind to ourself. Am I right?!
In this meditation I make it easier to express compassion to ourselves when we experience difficulty. Challenges are a part of our human experience and having a self compassion practice makes us more resilient and confident.
Thank you as always for meditating. The actions we take every day matter. As they say, "how you do anything is how you do everything". When you take action and meditate regularly, patience and kindness will naturally be your outcome.
You've been through everything hard so far. You got this!
So beautiful! Take good care.
Our bodies need to be relaxed in order for the mind to clear. There's no better way to relax then by becoming aware of the experiences in our body.
Use this meditation when you are feeling stressed, anxious or before bed.
Thank you for practicing mindfulness meditation!

In today's session we put it all the focused attention work together. ** I recommend you listen to breath, body and sound meditation before moving on to open awareness. Here we allow our attention to change and move from body to sound to breath to thoughts.
Give it a go! This is a nice practice to have in your repertoire because you can use it at any time.
I hope these meditations bring you 1% more peace and happiness. Thank you for practicing with me.
Want to practice live together? I'd love to see you on January 28th at 10AM EST. More details are in the link below.

Welcome to sound meditation. Sound is a useful focus (preferred by many) because sounds are always here.
In this sound meditation we will place our awareness on sound without judging or being bothered by it.
Thank you for practicing mindfulness.
As always, send me your thoughts - lizgcoaches@gmail.com.
Our bodies are always here ... making them an excellent focus of meditation. Today we will find a plesant or neutral place in the body to place our awareness.
Let's give it a go. Enjoy!
Welcome to my meditation 101 series (FYI these meditations are great for any level, especially beginners!)
We are keeping it simple and focusing on the breath today. By choosing to place awareness on the breath we are training our brain to focus and calm.
I recommend you listen to these meditations in the order they are posted and starting with breath, body, sounds and open awareness, however you choose your own adventure.
Thank you for practicing mindfulness meditation.
I know you guys will love this meditation/visualization because it's a fun one. Imagine what the snow globe of your life looks like right now. Is it chaotic, is it falling calmly? Is it settled.
You'll want to get seated in a comfy position to enjoy this one!
I'm wishing you many settled moments in 2023.
It's common to get thrown around and attached to thoughts. But thoughts are not facts. This meditation give us a chance to be with thoughts without being owned by them. When our mind is as big as the sky, experiences (like thoughts or sounds) just come and go.
Enjoy the peace and space that this meditation allows for.
Thanks for practicing.
Happy New Year! Let's kick 2023 off right and get clear on our values, goals, intentions and supports. After listening to this reflection you'll learn what steps to take toward living the best year of your life.

Love you all.
Everyday someone tells me "I'm doing meditation wrong" or the ask "what should I be doing?". And the answer is ... nothing! Meditation requires us to BE and not do. So today, I'll make this simple for you as I walk you through the process of becoming aware of your seat and your breath and your thoughts.
Enjoy the ease of just being here.
Thank you for practicing with me. It's a gift to know thousands of these episodes have helped you guys out there. It's my 1 year anniversary (according to Anchor) and we are at episode 99. I couldn't be more happy.
Take good care everyone and happy holidays!
We live in a "comparison culture" and it can be hard to feel secure when social media glamorizes others experiences. We can even compare our meditation with a "better" meditation. In this short and sweet mindfulness meditation I'll help you come back to the present moment which mitigates mind wandering and comparison.
Keep being you! Keep being great! Keep meditating!

Oh anxiety. How rude is stress, right?! Although it's here to stay, I'm bringing you a fun and realistic meditation to help mitigate anxiety.
This episode was inspired by a touching conversation I had with a Rabbi who responded to my obsession with productivity and challenge slowing down by saying, "Liz, I too am Jewish" which makes me laugh every time I think about it.
Let's calm our "Go, go, go, do, do, do" nervous system with this relaxing meditation.
Thank you for tuning in from around the world and carving out 10 minutes to take care of your brain and body.
Sending my love!
Let's GO! Happy Monday dear friends. Alright, we've all heard about self care. "You can't pour from an empty cup". And it's all true, but the whole "self care" thing can loos its luster.
We are reframing it. Life's all about community care. In order to be well we need to be in a community of positivity and health and inspiration. We can't be well without each other.
I challenge you to think differently about how you care for yourself this week. Start learning more about what others are working on. What are the goals of the people you live with or work with? How can you pick each other up? In what ways can you lift each other up? Who can you ask for support this week?
I've been loving teaching community care at work - this concept is resonating with hundreds of people which is why I wanted to share it with you as well.
Let me know how this topic is landing for you and have a powerful week of wellness with your community.
Subscribe to this podcast and give me a bunch of starts - that's how more people will find out about our community and that's how we will change the world.
Love you lots. Email me lizgcoaches@gmail.com if 1:1 life coaching feels right to you!
Happy Thanksgiving for my American friends! Geez, there is no better day to publish episode than today.
It's time to rest and if you're anything like me, you might be thinking..."what the heck is rest?!" Yeah, I get that.
Our bodies need rest and not just at the end of the day, and not just a 1 hour nap on our day off - if that's even possible for you.
Our brains need rest and our bodies need rest - so take 1% of your day and let's rest together.
This podcast was inspired by a podcast I heard with Tracey Heresy, author of Rest Is Resistance, and she's an expert in setting boundaries and resting.
Today (on a day that is very hectic for many) we pause to use the mental note "I'm resting". Try this out in the meditation and give it a shot when you're going about your day and feeling a bit panicky. Just taking a deep breath in and gently saying to yourself "I'm resting" can reset the nervous system.
Enjoy this one. It's been REALLY helping me at work when my schedule is packed and I'm feeling stressed.
As always, keep meditating. Please share this podcast! Share the practices! Keep me posted on what you're loving here.
I love you even if I haven't met you! Thank you for your practice.

Today we are celebrating (about) 5000 listens on this podcast in less than a year! I want to send a huge thank you to YOU. Thank you for continuing to meditate and thank you for making the world a more happy and safe place to live.
As an FYI, I record the podcast in the suburbs of NJ (that's why you might hear birds in the background!) and I'm a wellness coach at a NYC hospital and I coach employees and teach mindfulness to front line workers. Life coaching is amazing and my work inspires me to serve audiences beyond healthcare.
My mission is to make mindfulness and meditation FUN and more accessible. I love to teach people small mindset practices that lead to BIG results.
We are almost at 100 episodes SO please holler at me! Tell me what you're liking or want to hear more of! What topics interest you? Do you want to see mindfulness content in youtube videos? Let me know. I'm here to serve and I can't wait to connect.

Happy Monday! I'm starting a new segment - Motivational Mondays - because many of you have asked for me to share my positivity via life coaching. So here we go - I'm excited!
I'll be bringing you bursts of happiness, motivation, joy and LOVE on Mondays (as long as you guys like it!)
Today we are starting with a topic that comes up daily in my coaching sessions - how to get the mind to stop storytelling.
Good news and bad news. Our minds think. AND they go from one small problem to blowing it up out of proportion. This is normal AND this is very annoying and draining - I'm sure you feel me here.
One fun way I deal with my mind once I've noticed it's wandered off into a drastic story is by ramping it up into SUCH a far fetched and silly drama that I make myself laugh and am able to step back into reality. After you learn this practice, apply it and see if it works for you.
Let me know your thoughts about motivational Mondays - lizgcoaches@gmail.com, @lizteachesyoga.
Thank you for showing up!
This podcast was inspired by my mom - shout out to Arlene! She had an incredible insight that channeling her future self when she was having a hard time helped her find her center and reminded her of her power and strength. NAILED IT MOM!
I'm bringing you a beautiful (if I do say so myself) reflection where you'll connect with your future self and that will guide you to the truth.
Enjoy this time with the wisest you. You won't regret it.
Let me know your thoughts in the comments and keep practicing! Your mindfulness practice makes the world a better place :)
This focusing technique will have you feeling more calm in an instant - I guarantee it. While this is not a "mindfulness" meditation, it is a relaxation practice created by Herbert Benson that does the exact opposite of the stress response... AKA try it yourself! Choosing an easeful word or phrase on your exhalation puts quiets the mind and I can't wait to hear what you think!
Sending love and light and thanks for practicing. Keep up the great work!
Friends! Meet BOB. BOB has saved me and dozens of the employees I work with from panic and anxiety. BOB is a simple technique you can do before meditation to calm your nervous system or do during the day. It's a life savor. Let's practice together and let me know in the comments what you think.
Body
Observe
Breathe
We relax our body (because our brain can't calm down if our body is not at ease), we observe our surroundings to take in feelings of safety and we deliberately breathe out longer than we breathe in, Then we are ready fo our 5 minute meditation.
The point is to share BOB with others so that more people can be grounded and kind.
Thank you for practicing and making the world a better place! Love you!

Sending love and good vibes!
We have dozens, (if not hundreds) of parts of us. You know, there’s the part that’s happy and the part that’s confused. The part that’s organized and the part that’s creative. And there is always a part of us that wants the best for ourselves.
Today we pause and notice the part of us that knows how we feel and knows what we need. Let’s acknowledge this part of us by supporting what it needs to be well.
Let me know what you think of this reflection. I LOVE parts work - it helps me feel like vibrant and whole human being.
I love you all! Thanks for practicing :)
In today's mindfulness meditation I give you more time between short prompts to practice the simple and beautiful practice of sitting.
Enjoy the moments of peace.
When life feels scattered it's important to ground down and experience your body connected to the earth. By touching down we acknowledge the reality of the moment and create more space to be aware and alive in the world.
Enjoy this deeply relaxing meditation!
In today's meditation we appreciate the body and breath and when our minds wander off to memories or zooms to the future, we choose to focus our mind and reflect on our strengths.
Deliberately choosing to acknowledge our goodness is a practice work doing!
Being in the present moment means committing to bring your awareness back to your breath and body. But it's more challenging than it sounds! Todays mindfulness practice we have you use the mantra "how am I right now" to kindly bring your attention back from past and future thinking.
Give it a shot... I promise you'll learn something about yourself!
Thanks for practicing.
Today we practice being gentle with ourselves by reframing our negative, pervasive or judgmental thoughts. Notice how the invitation to re-language a thought with acknowledgment, appreciation and support reduces the sting and weight of the thought.
Try this mindfulness meditation when you are seeking ease and peace and a greater perspective.
Keep practicing and be good all!
Much love :)
To be patient we must choose to slow down. The more deliberately we move and witness life as it unfolds, the easier it is to notice how patience and compassion naturally arise.
I love you all. Thank you for meditating and thanks for being patient with me!
@lizteachesyoga
Life moves fast. There's a lot of noise happening inside heads and outside our lives. By taking a moment to pause and notice the steady pace of the breath and the feeling of weight in the body, we start to feel safe enough to slow down.
Thanks for chilling out with me today and as always ... thanks for meditating.
We all think. Experts say we have 60,000 thoughts a day. To free ourself from worry, fear and anxiety we need to practice having a thought, recognizing the thought, and bringing attention back to this moment.
Here I give you two present moment experiences (breath and body) to choose from as your anchor. I increase the time spent "meditating" to give you a chance to notice thoughts and gently guide your attention back here.
This one is fun! Let me know what you think.
Think good thoughts and thanks for your practice. You are healing the world!
Most of us are familiar with worrying. Sometimes we think worrying will prepare us for life, but it's not the case.
To eliminate worry we must come back to the present moment and remind ourself that we are safe right now.
I wish you less and less worry. Reach out for help with anxiety @lizteachesyoga
Thanks for practicing.
Warning - might cause drowsiness and extreme relaxation!
This mediation uses deeply soothing techniques commonly found in NSDR (Non-sleep deep rest) practices.
Enjoy in a safe and comfortable environment.
For once you don't need to try, to exceed, to produce, to progress,....you don't need to do anything.
The continual "doing" is exhausting. In meditation we don't have a goal. We see what life is like if we let everything be. Give it a shot today.
Thanks for your practice. Good luck out there :)
We're doing it all wrong! In order to reach our dreams we need to be prepared for the challenges we will face, vs obsessing about the actual end result.
I find this manifesting practice revolutionary.
Can't wait to hear about the goals you achieve and most importantly the journey you've had.
Thanks for practicing.
We spend most of our day thinking about what we think others are thinking of us.
It is not?!
Powerful.
Let's spend time noticing how we are today, without comparison to others or how we were before.
Thanks for practicing to think like yourself!
It's break time! Give yourself permission to spend half a percent of your day reflecting on how you're feeling. Trust me, it's worth your time!
Thanks for practicing.
Meditation isn't fancy! Today we take a quick break to get back to the fundamentals of meditation. All we've got to do it sit, breathe and be.
IT sucks to feel burnt out - like we are giving too much all the time. A lot of us know what compassion fatigue feels like.
Good thing is ... there's another perspective. We're always receiving. We receive breath and body sensations and kindness and sunlight. We can even receive gravity and be thankful for being supported by a chair or cushion or the ground.
Today we tap into receiving and allow our heart to open to what's here so we can spend less time in the ego world and more time living.
I heard a great quote from Brene Brown that went something like, "You don't need to walk in someone else's shoes. You need to believe how they feel walking in their own shoes. And to do so, you must believe in yourself".
Today we trust how we feel and we see that we can be with whatever that is.
Trust me, you're gonna like this mindfulness meditation!
Thanks for practicing :)
Mindfulness isn't a big production. It's not a mysterious state of mind and it's not something out of reach.
We focus our awareness on the exhale of the breath as a first step toward being mindful of this moment. If you're new to the practice, the breath is a great option of an anchor to point awareness towards because we have so many each day!
So see if you can catch each exhale, and forgive yourself when you miss a few :)
Acceptance doesn't mean complacency or denial and it doesn't mean we're a push over.
Accepting opens up space in our minds and hearts for what's importance. It helps us move. Let go.
Let's sit and accept this body and these thoughts and this moment as it is so we can let in the good.
Today's 5 minute practice reminds us that we don't need to fix anything to meditate.
By taking a moment to find a comfortable seat, taking a few deep breaths and noticing our experience we are on our way to freedom.
Enjoy and thank you for practicing mindfulness meditation

I've got bad news - we don't meditate to stop thoughts and meditators are not fake people with no thoughts.
We use meditate to become aware our thoughts. Meditation helps us see our thoughts content, their flavor, their charge and eventually we notice that thoughts change. They come and go. They aren't facts.
Today we explore experiencing thoughts without judgement which can take a heavy load off our plate!
Thanks for practicing.
In today's mindfulness meditation we see if we can tap into the feeling of spaciousness. We put down distractions and anything that pulls us away from feeling flow and we tune into space in the body and breath.
This is a good practice to use during the day when you're feeling tight and constricted.
I'm thinking of you all, sending love and freedom.
In this mindfulness meditation we move slowly from awareness of our breath and body, to feeling friendliness from another, all the way to atempting to feel love for ourselves.
Set aside 10 minutes for self worth. It's always worth it. I love you all! Thanks for praciting!
Our brains are designed stick to the negative ... It sucks but we do it to survive. What does this mean for you? It means you need to consciously practice inserting positive thoughts when you're stuck in rumination.
As soon as you notice a negative thought just count down 5,4,3,2,1 to zap that thought in real time! It's quick, easy and free. Even a 2 year old can do it.
Let me know how it goes and thanks for listening! We've got 2000 downloads!! We are changing the world!
Waking up is hard but starting our day with gratitude can significantly orient our day towards the positive. In this short and sweet meditation you'll bring to mind those you love in a new and improved way.
Have a great day!
I hate to break it to you, but you're not perfect. There is no such thing! We tend to think our body or our posture or our breath or our thoughts are supposed to be perfect but the reality is that's not possible.
Today we will practice having the most exquisitely imperfect meditation. Trust that you'll feel better once you let yourself off the hook :)
Need to relax? Lessen anxiety? Take a few minutes to get out of your head by downshifting. You can use this mindfulness meditation technique at any point in your day to feel more grounded.
Thank you for all 27 countries that are listening to my meditations! Your practice makes the world better!
Recently I heard therapy explained In three parts.
Be vulnerable enough to truly feel your feelings
See if you can sit with the feelings
Change perspectives.
I found this REVOLUTIONARY!
In today's practice we open to the possibility of being with emotions, we touch into the experience of feeling (perhaps a more challenging feelings) and we shift our view so we can see ourselves as we really are and not how we think we are. This is a new tool in your tool kit and the coolest part is you can practice during the day when life is feeling overwhelming and you're in need of some compassion.
Check it out ... I swear you'll see the power of this one!
Humans are story tellers. That's what makes us so unique. We use language to share experiences and connect.
Unfortunately we use the same story telling expertise to self narrate our lives. And sometimes the stories we tell each other (and believe) are mean and horrible and just plain incorrect.
Here we see if we can catch ourselves mid way through a story so we can note the tone and the content to perhaps teach us something about ourselves off the mat.
Let's see what stories you're telling yourself and try to choose new ones.
We're mostly always safe, but our brain tells us otherwise.
Try this meditation when you need a reminder of how okay you are. Right now. In this moment. You are mostly okay. And safe.
I'm sending love and safety to humans across the world. Thanks for listening all.
There's a lot going on globally. Sometimes, it can feel out of control. We can feel out of control.
Today we intentionally worry and then investigate how we are actually feeling - wether it's fear or anger or overwhelm.
When you're feeling like there's chaos In the air, try and pour attention into your breath or body.
Thanks for practicing and take a second to think of one small thing you can do today to bring peace and stillness into your life so you can take right action out there in the world.
Love you all!
We spend a lot of time up in our heads. In order to self regulate we've got to move our energy down.
Try this practice when you're feeling anxious and need to ground in the body.
Love you all! Thanks for practicing..
Enjoy this game changing practice. First we start by choosing and easy focus - the breath, body or sounds. Then, imagine yourself as your most chill friend. Take on that as-ease energy.
Finally the magic begins when we act as if we were being paid (you choose the amount!) to relax. Fake it till you make it. Would a $1 million incentive help you relax. Let's see! Let me know what you think ... this practice normally helps me relax AND laugh. it's a win win.
Love you all. Relax! We get the day to live and that's amazing
There's a difference between trying to breath and allowing the breath to breathe in and out. Notice when happens when you sit back and you aren't actively trying to change your experience. It's refreshing to just breathe, I promise ;)
Isn't it the worst when someone demands you "relax!"? We tend to retreat and get more tight when we try too hard to relax.
So today, no need to relax. We lean back, watch the breath, witness the body and then maybe all of a sudden when we aren't trying at all to relax.... we relax.
Try it for yourself.
Thanks for meditating. You're healing the world. Love you all!
When life gets crazy and we're pulled in too many directions, the best next step is to pause and work on just one thing. One thing at a time.
In this meditation we continue to tap in to the exact one thing we need right now so we can meet that need and keep on livin'
Thanks for practicing with me.
New things can be scary. Let's move back and forth between what we know (the breath and the body) to the feelings that come with newness.
This morning we drink coffee together mindfully by sensing the cup in our hands and the coffee (or tea) on our lips. Yum!
When it's feeling difficult to tap into how you feel and trust yourself, tune into this mindfulness meditation. I'll give you simple tools that you can integrate into your day to being about more self compassion and trust.
Trust me!
On Apple Podcasts I'd love if you wrote me a shinning review and rated the podcast!
Thanks for over 1000 listens y'all! You're the best and keep practicing.
Ah, being in flow state is so good. But lots of things keep us out of flow, like deadlines and mean people and stress.
So how to we get into more flow? When we are balanced. When we are exerting just the right amount of energy and getting just the right result in return.
Join me and go with the flow and feel more ease now.
One glimpse of peace, calm, joy, or gratitude is all it takes to remind us that states of serenity and quiet are possible.
Pause for 6 minutes and glimpse your basic "okayness" for a.half a second or one pause or one breath.
You got this! Thanks for practicing.
Difficult people stink. And they are everywhere! Since we can't get ride of them, in toady's meditation you'll view a difficult person with a different lense and this technique will open your eyes to new possibilities.
Thanks to over 20 countries tuning in!
Please take a moment to write a review on Apple podcasts. Your positive reviews and ratings helps get these teachings to more humans!
Worry isn't useful but we tell ourselves it is because it might prevent something bad from happening or at least we are doing something.
Incorrect! Worrying does nothing.
You know what does?! Action!
Take 6 minutes to see the benefits of what life is like without worry.
It's time to rest. You've done a lot today. You deserve the experience of deep sleep.
Sweet dreams listeners.
When you're in an expansive mood, open awareness is for you. Here we include experiences of sound, body and breathe in our sit. We welcome all experiences and when the awareness moves to thoughts we gently guide it back to whichever experience is most present for us.
By practicing you're making the world a more pleasant place. Thank you.
Shout out to my listeners from 18 COUNTRIES as of 1/25/21!!
Love you USA, Slovakia, Germany, Switzerland, Canada, Indonesia, Sweden, the UK, Ireland, Italy, Estonia, Puerto Rico, Kazakstan, Thailand, India, South Africa, Spain, and Australia!
Sounds simply arise and pass away, making them excellent anchors in meditation. We'll use soft mental notes such as "hearing" to acknowledge when we notice sounds.
Sound meditation is a fan fav, so see if it's good for you!
"Sit and know you're sitting"
Let's use the experience of sitting as the way to point our awareness from worries, rumination and mental wandering to our physical body.
P.S. Keep subscribing, reviewing, listening and sharing this podcast! We are almost at 1000 listens!
Thanks for your practice.
Meditation is really simple, I promise. We aren't trying to DO anything. We are just practicing choosing our awareness. Today we continually point awareness back to the breath. Try it with me ;)
You did it! You practiced cultivating and exploring joy for ten days which is simply incredible.
On our final day together we take it easy. We practice simply being here. Sitting and knowing we are sitting. Breathing and knowing we are breathing. Life's really simple (surprisingly). Since we tend to make it harder for ourselves, we finish up our joy practice by just loving the moment for what it is.
Thank you for taking time to learn about joy. Let me know what you liked by writing a review and rating the show so more people can find joy!
Practicing meditation is important AND taking action after reflecting can be equally critical. Here we will come to terms with what matters with us and bring to mind small steps we can take today to bring us closer to our goals.
I can't wait to hear what you want YOUR local and global contribution to be. You can do anything you aspire to!!
Almost done with the 10 day challenge! I am so proud of you!
"Little by little, little becomes a lot"
Life can be hard. It can suck. Relationships are messy. This is all true AND everything changes. Using soft mental notes in meditation such as "anxiety arising" or "anxiousness feels like this" VS the detrimental rumination that goes something like "I'm the most anxious person in the world and that means I'm a bad person" reduce the attachment to a state of mind. We are not responsible for our thoughts and we don't need to identify as a particular type of state of mind because it's all subject to change.
When we can better deal with difficulties in meditation, our whole world can open up and become much less scary.
Thanks for listening today, you're nailing it.
We feel better when we are seen, heard, appreciated, happy and healthy. In this mindfulness meditation we experience universal feelings and we connection with others ... even if they aren't near us.
When we see how similar we all are, it opens our hearts to treating each other with respect.
Take good care!
In todays reflection we'll learn techniques to identify parts of our worlds that are going well and parts of us that we love (or at a minimum don't dislike).
Grasping the concept of self worth will help you both on the meditation cushion and in the world.
Thanks for practicing!
Some of you know I LOVE this practice. Letting go. It's so hard! That's why it must be practiced.
Wether you need to let go of negative thoughts or fears or worries or of attachments to people or experiences, you're in the right place.
Let's let go distractions and useless stories so we can let in joy, beauty and kindness.
Thanks for showing up AND you're half way there! Are you feeling more happy?! Rate and review the podcast to let me know how you're doing!
What do you value? Pause for a sec. Please! What do you really, really value?
When we live in alignment with our values, life is much easier to live. Trust me on this. I am blessed to Coach full time and bring positivity, encouragement and knowledge to employees and it's the most meaningful work I've ever done. Being a Full time Wellness Coach allows me to practice what I preach all day, and therefore I'm living my truth and in alignment with my values.
We explore how to investigate and live our values in this mindfulness meditation. I hope it opens your mind to how amazing you are and the endless possibilities we have to live the life we want to live.
Great work. Thanks for valuing yourself by being here. See you in tomorrow's session on letting go.
Good old gratitude. Did you know gratitude changes our brains? And it's a PROVEN way to be happier?
Yup. In this meditation we dive into what we are grateful for and how it feels to be grateful. You don't want to miss this practice. It's a life changer.
Let me know what you're loving about this 10 day challenge by posting a review
Thanks for practicing.
It's all about mindfulness. Mindfulness (and love) is all we need. Seriously! That's it! Since what we focus on becomes our reality we must take advantage of our attention. Attention is one of the only things we can control... so why do we feel so distracted all the time?
Attending to our chosen object (like the body or breath) takes PRACTICE. P.S. anything worth while takes practice. The good news is with as little as 10 minutes (only 1 % of your day!!!) of practice a day you can sharpen focus, increase resilience and become happier. Just try it ;)
Enjoy day 2.
It's day 1 of our "10 days to joy" challenge.
Sit back, relax and set the intention to be happy. Research proves that the more we intend to be joyful and the more we practice happiness the sooner we will truly be happy. See if you can reflect on why it's so important to you to live authentically and what first step you can take today in the direction of these goals.
P.S. please never read the podcast content or close your eyes if you're driving.
Thanks for staying safe.
We could all use a bit more joy, so let's get there in just 10 days together. For ten days we will explore what happiness feels like, what it really is, how to find it from within and how to get more of it!
P.S. I'm thrilled to announce that the podcast has almost 700 listens from views around the world! Keep sharing the love and subscribing and reviewing so more people can get happy today! Shout out to my listeners from Canada, Italy, Switzerland, Ireland the US and five more countries. Love you all.
Get excited for 10 days of the below themes (inspired by the meditation teacher James Baraz)
Intention for happiness
Mindfulness
Gratitude
Integrity and values
The joy of letting go
Learning to love (ourselves)
Opening to difficulties
Connecting with others
Compassionate action
Joy of simply being
Along the journey please take a second to tell me what you're learning about yourself AND about happiness by writing me a review.
Thanks (as always) for your practice.
Anxious? Not feeling well? Worried about others? You are not alone - 7 billion of us feel your pain AND thankfully there are techniques to reduce anxiety.
Follow me as we begin with this mindfulness meditation with the Silva Method (a style of breathing to mitigate anxiety) and explore what anxiety feels like. News alert - anxiety is not bad, it's actually useful. We don't need to change how we are feeling, however we can continue to remind ourselves of present moment experiences instead of being off in story telling and worrying.
You'll feel better soon (I promise) and you can handle this challenging moment. You've gotten through everything hard so far!
You got this.
We tend to self edit or fix ourselves which is exhausting and not necessary. The do-do-do, go-go-go culture doesn't help us live in our present moment experience and todays meditation will counteract that.
By witnessing breath and body with non-judgment we notice that we don't need to meddle with our own lives. YAY! We can just sit back adn relax and allow everything to happen.
P.S. This 10 minutes meditation equates to only 1% of your day and it will surely make you feel more than 1% better, so take the few minutes to chill out with me! You deserve it :)
Missing someone you love can be painful, but the ability to miss or grieve only means you are capable of love - and this is a gift.
Wether you are missing the old way of living or you're missing a person, the feeling of missing changes. In today's mindfulness meditation we notice the changing nature of missing and we take care of ourselves by remembering that there is strength in being capable of love.
Yup. Walking meditation is legit. It's one of the four types of mindfulness meditation.
No matter if you walk around your home or spend hours walking around a city, you can be mindful of every step you take. This practice can revolutionize your life.
In this meditation we walk together and practice focusing the entirety of our awareness on our feet or our body moving as we walk.
So walk this way and have a GREAT day!
You asked and you received! Less words, more space! This short meditation gives you more space between guidance to attend to your chosen focus. It's got just enough guidance and quiet time.
With multiple one minute moments of silence you're able to practice the process of kindly guiding your attention back from thoughts and to the breath or the body. Try it for yourself and enjoy the glimpses of peace.
@lizteachesyoga
You'll be calm, cool and collected after listening to this deeply relaxing mindfulness meditation. Your body and mind will thank you.
From the archives (Please pardon the recording quality - this was not recorded on a professional mic)
Most of us have no idea how to start meditating so we don't even try. UG! If that sounds like you, that makes you normal and I'm here to help.
You're not doing it wrong! Start here. Begin with a comfortable seat and an intention to focus on one thing - like the breath or body or sound. Then be REALLY nice to yourself when your attention goes to your to-do list and wanders off to past conversations.
Sit, focus, think, come back to your focus. Repeat! We keep it simple in this beginner meditation.
Got too many apps open? Is your system processor running slowly? Today we X out of the unnecessary tabs, delete unnecessary downloads and install positive programs.
Viewing your brain like a computer is extremely beneficial and allows us to utilize new and useful hardware.
I bet you'll be using this methodology and your system will be running smoothly in minutes!
It's ALL about process. Process process process! Without going step by step we won't reach our goal.
The tiniest changes make all the difference. So since it's a new year (which means you might already be making or breaking resolutions), maybe it's time to do something NEW and quit focusing so hard on the final destination.
Let's realize that the path is the prize in this New Years Meditation.
Meditation is simple. Choose a focus (like the breath) and when you notice your attention goes to the past and future, just say in your mind, "oh well!" and gently allow yourself to attend to your focus.
That's it! I know, sounds easy. Let's see how it goes ;) One breath at a time.
Our bodies are always with us - making them the perfect area of attention. By choosing the body as our point of focus, our mind is able to stay in the present. Rest in the experience of having a body and find peace quickly.
Thoughts are normal. We have 60,000 thoughts a day! The more we resist thoughts when we sit, the more the brain thinks they are dangerous and allows the thoughts to keep looping. Although it might sound backwards, we must accept our thoughts warmly in order to find peace.
Today let's notice and accept thoughts and feel more settled in our minds.
Sleep is hard. Meditations (like yoga nidra) make falling asleep and staying asleep easier.
Rest soundly my dears.
In mindfulness meditation there are 4 postures - seated, reclining, walking and standing. They are all equally great and it's important to find ease in your chosen posture. We'll spend a few minutes today finding the right fit for you so you can have easeful meditations.
Thanks for treating your body like a great friend!
Practicing gratitude is good for our brain (no matter if we are having an awful or wonderful day). Here we'll feel into gratitude and take in the good.
You've been through every life challenge so far - try these meditative technique when fear takes over.
Feeling unsupported and burn-out? Life is hard, AND there's more love out there than you think. Taking 6 minutes to visualize the love out there can drastically improve your day and help you feel more connected. You got this! I'm cheering you on.
Burned out / pulled in too many directions / no time for anything? I get it. As a hospital employee we're so used to taking care of others that it's challenging to care for ourselves. Pausing to choose our mood and remember our impact gives us our strength back.
Thanks for the work you do and for practicing.
In this mindful approach to pain, we won't resist or encourage our pain; we'll notice that it changes and find solace in different areas of the body.
Life can be overwhelming. Maybe we're sick, our loved ones aren't well, perhaps we are stressed with work or personal obligations ... it's A LOT.
Today we get clear on how we're feeling, we rest in ever changing feelings and we treat ourselves like a good friend to find ease.
Thanks for listening!
In a rush? Feeling overwhelmed? Learn simple techniques to slow down (even if life is moving fast!)
Setting intentions and reflecting on the good will positively change the trajectory of your day. I guarantee it!
