Masonia Traylor is a mother of two, and an internationally recognized Community Champion for HIV/AIDS. She dedicates herself as a passionate HIV/AIDS Activist and Advocate, focusing on youth, Black Women, and reproductive justice. justice. During a routine medical visit in late 2010, she was told by the provider that she “was not at risk” for HIV. Since then, she has served as a youth representative of the states, Georgia Community HIV Prevention Planning Group, Sister Love Inc., Aid Atlanta (Ask Us Teens Program), Red Pump Project, Atlanta Area Outreach Initiative, Georgia Equality, and Ryan White Planning Council, The National Fetal Infant Mortality Rates HIV/AIDS case review team for Georgia, Positive Peers of Georgia, Patient Advisory Board od Absolute Care Medical Center, Empowerment Resource Centers, The Heather Ivy Foundation, and the Black Womens Health Imperative. She is also a participant in National HIV/AIDS awareness campaigns CDC, “Stop HIV Together” and Georgia’s/ Kaiser Family Foundation, “Greater Than Aids- Empowerment & We Are Family,” with appearances in Essence Magazine, TIME Magazine, and the cover of PEOPLE Magazine, on Divorce Court, radio stations, BET, UPN, ESPN, and Fox 5 News Channel. She is a graduate (B.S.) of the Andrew Young School of Public Policy Studies with a concentration in Nonprofit Leadership & Management at Georgia State University. Masonia currently sits on The Sustain Advocacy Group for The University of Houston Compass Initiative where she assists in funding organizations across the South’s 9 Deep states to focus on HIV, Community Advisory Board Member for Global Organization The Well Project, and as Advirsory Board member on the health committee for National Council for Negro Women. As CEO and Founder of non-profit organization, Lady BurgAndy Inc., a creative brand for health & wellness initiatives with a specialty focus on the intersectionality of Youth, Women of Color, & HIV/AIDS, she helps black women leading in HIV/AIDS leverage their leadership so that they can secure their legacies.
