Our Enemy The Flesh Every follower of Christ has a sinful nature. It wages war with our minds and makes us prisoners to sin. God’s provision to overcome the flesh is His grace through our union with His death, burial and resurrection and His Spirit. As we walk by the Spirit we will not fulfill the deeds of the flesh.

Forgiveness Brings Freedom Unforgiveness breaks our relationship with the Father. It holds us in bondage with an ever increasing anger and resentment. Through forgiveness of those who have hurt, wounded or offended us, we are set free from the bondage of unforgiveness.

Listening to God’s Heart Through Journaling When I want to hear God’s heart on a matter, I often find that I need to first listen for what is going on in my heart. I surrender it to the Lord. And then I am ready to hear what’s on God’s heart. It is through the spiritual discipline of journaling that I hear my heart and God’s heart.

Jesus exhorts His followers to pray and not lose heart. He tells the story of the widow and unrighteous judge. In so doing, Jesus is contrasting the Father as a righteous judge who answers prayer quickly.
