Baldur's Gate 3 is a 2023 role-playing video game developed and published by Larian Studios. It is the third main installment to the Baldur's Gate series, based on the tabletop fantasy role-playing system of Dungeons & Dragons. A partial version of the game was released in early access format for macOS and Windows in October 2020. It remained in early access until its full release for Windows in August 2023, with versions for PlayStation 5, macOS, and Xbox Series X/S releasing later that year.
Baldur's Gate 3 received critical acclaim, with praise for its gameplay, narrative, and production quality. It won many Game of the Year awards and became the first game that won GOTY awards at all five major video game award ceremonies at the Golden Joystick Awards, The Game Awards, the D.I.C.E. Awards, the Game Developers Choice Awards, and the British Academy Games Awards.

Hellblade: Senua's Sacrifice is an action-adventure game developed and published by Ninja Theory. Set in a dark fantasy world inspired by Norse mythology and Celtic culture, the game follows Senua, a Pict warrior who must make her way to Helheim in order to rescue the soul of her dead lover from the goddess Hela.
Self-described as an "independent AAA game", Hellblade: Senua's Sacrifice was created by a team of approximately twenty developers. The game blends different gameplay mechanics and concepts like puzzle solving, psychological horror and melee combat.
The game's narrative serves as a metaphor for the character's struggle with psychosis, as Senua, who suffers from the condition but believes it to be a curse, is haunted by an entity known as the "Darkness", voices in her head known as "Furies", and memories from her past. To properly represent psychosis, the developers worked closely with neuroscientists, mental health specialists, and people living with the condition.

The neighborhood watch is back! On this episode Andrew and Dylan talk about a bunch of fun games they've been enjoying over the last month or so! Dylan gives some thoughts on Baldur's Gate 3 and how he'll probably never stop playing it. Andrew has been filling in the gaps of his Dragon Ball Z knowledge by playing through Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot and having a great time with it.
Along with that, Andrew played and finished the rogue-like mode for God of War: Raknarok, called Valhalla. He talks about how it is a great experience for someone new to this genre. Dylan has been playing Factorio and talks about what he enjoys about that game. And both hosts have been playing Fortnite. The game has finally clicked for Andrew and he's been enjoying his time in the most popular game in the world!

On this episode of Your Friendly Neighborhood Gamers Andrew and Dylan take a deep dive into Remnant 2. Remnant 2 is a third-person shooter action role-playing video game developed by Gunfire Games and published by Gearbox Publishing. A sequel to Remnant: From the Ashes, the game was released for PlayStation 5, Windows and Xbox Series X/S on July 25, 2023. Like its predecessor, Remnant 2 is a third-person shooter inspired by Soulslike video games. Players can wield up to two guns, alongside their melee weapon. And at the beginning of the game, players can select their character archetypes. While the first game features procedural generation by changing a level's layout and enemy spawn points, it has been significantly expanded in Remnant 2. According to Gunfire Games, enemy types, the aesthetic of a region, boss characters, non-playable characters and the game's storyline and quests are also randomly generated. Players can play through the entire game solo, though the game also supports a three-player cooperative multiplayer mode.
The hosts break down what they thought about the gameplay loop and whether the procedural generation worked well or not. They also discuss the puzzles in this game and discuss if they added to the overall experience or not. They tackle the question of whether or not this game should be called a soulslike game or it there could be a better category for it to fit in. And lastly, they talk about their individual builds and how they approached the game as a far as weapons and gear.

The Game Awards is an annual awards ceremony honoring achievements in the video game industry. Established in 2014, the show is produced and hosted by game journalist Geoff Keighley, who worked on its predecessor, the Spike Video Game Awards, for over ten years. In addition to the awards, The Game Awards features premieres of upcoming games and new information on previously-announced titles.
The bulk of this episode is dedicated to breaking down the winners of each category. This is a big episode of the Neighborhood Watch! On this episode, Andrew and Dylan talk about how much fun they are having playing Remnant 2 together! Andrew also talks about how great Evil West and Cyberpunk 2077 Phantom Liberty are. Dylan played Cocoon and had a great time as well.
But it can't all be nice, Andrew started playing Assassin's Creed Mirage and has a lot to say about it. Most of it is not good. Dylan has been playing Destiny 2 again and having fun with the game (as always) however, Bungie has hit a bit of a rough patch lately and the guys discuss what's been happening with the studio lately.

Andrew has been playing Lies of P, a Bloodborne inspired game based on the world of Pinocchio. It received generally favorable reviews from critics who praised the gameplay, writing, and open world, although criticism was given to some aspects of the story and technical glitches upon the game's launch.

The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt is a 2015 action role-playing game developed and published by CD Projekt Red. It is the sequel to the 2011 game The Witcher 2: Assassins of Kings and the third game in The Witcher video game series, played in an open world with a third-person perspective. The games follow The Witcher series of fantasy novels written by Andrzej Sapkowski.
The game takes place in a fictional fantasy world based on Slavic mythology. Players control Geralt of Rivia, a monster slayer for hire known as a Witcher, and search for his adopted daughter, who is on the run from the otherworldly Wild Hunt. Players battle the game's many dangers with weapons and magic, interact with non-player characters, and complete quests to acquire experience points and gold, which are used to increase Geralt's abilities and purchase equipment. The game's story has three possible endings, determined by the player's choices at key points in the narrative.
It holds more than 200 game of the year awards and has been cited as one of the greatest video games ever made. Two expansions were also released to critical acclaim: Hearts of Stone and Blood and Wine. The game shipped over 40 million copies, making it one of the best-selling video games of all time.

Destiny 2 is a free-to-play online-only multiplayer first-person shooter developed by Bungie. It was originally released as a pay to play game in 2017 for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and Windows. It became free-to-play, utilizing the games as a service model, under the New Light title on October 1, 2019.
Set in a "mythic science fiction" world, the game features a multiplayer "shared-world" environment with elements of role-playing games. Activities in Destiny 2 are divided among player versus environment (PvE) and player versus player (PvP) game types. In addition to normal story missions, PvE features three-player "strikes" and dungeons and six-player raids. A free roam patrol mode is also available for each destination which features public events as well as other activities. These activities have an emphasis on exploration of the destinations and interactions with non-player characters (NPCs). PvP features objective-based modes, as well as traditional deathmatch game modes.
Players assume the role of a Guardian, protectors of Earth's last safe city as they wield a power called Light to protect humanity from different alien races and combat the looming threat of the Darkness. Like the original Destiny, the game features expansion packs which further the story and adds new content across the game.

Andrew rounds up a fantastic group of guests to talk about one of the biggest games of 2022, God of War Ragnarök. Timestamps below if you want to skip the spoiler section of the conversation. God of War Ragnarök is an action-adventure game developed by Santa Monica Studio and published by Sony Interactive Entertainment. It was released worldwide on November 9, 2022, for the PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5, marking the first cross-gen release in the God of War series. It is the ninth installment in the series, and the sequel to 2018's God of War.
Loosely based on Norse mythology, the game is set in ancient Scandinavia and features series protagonist Kratos and his teenage son Atreus. Concluding the Norse era of the series, the game covers Ragnarök, the eschatological event which is central to Norse mythology and was foretold to happen in the previous game.
The gameplay is similar to the previous 2018 installment. It features combo-based combat, as well as puzzle and role-playing elements.
Ragnarök garnered universal acclaim from critics and was praised for its storytelling, characters, visuals, level design, and overall improvements to the gameplay over its predecessor. It won Game of the Year at the Titanium Awards and was a nominee for the same award at The Game Awards 2022, where it won Best Narrative, Best Action/Adventure, and Innovation in Accessibility, among other awards and nominations.
The game was a commercial success, selling 5.1 million units in its first week, becoming the fastest-selling first-party game in PlayStation history.

The FN Gamers review Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice and discuss whether or not the relentless difficulty takes too much fun away from the game.
Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice is a 2019 action-adventure game developed by FromSoftware and published by Activision. The game follows a shinobi known as Wolf, who attempts to take revenge on a samurai clan that imprisoned him and kidnapped his lord. The gameplay is focused on stealth, exploration, and combat, with a particular emphasis on boss battles. It takes place in a fictionalized Japan during the Sengoku period and makes strong references to Buddhist mythology and philosophy.
Sekiro was released for PlayStation 4, Windows, and Xbox One in March 2019, and for Stadia in October 2020 (RIP). Lead director Hidetaka Miyazaki wanted to create a new intellectual property that marked a departure from their Dark Souls series, looking at games such as Tenchu for inspiration. Sekiro was praised by critics, who complimented its gameplay and setting, and compared it to Dark Souls, although opinions on its difficulty were mixed. It won several year-end awards and sold over five million copies by July 2020.
