Each week we will upload our Sunday message from Pastor Jeff. Our goal is to Engage People, Connect Them to Christ, and Empower Them to Serve.
Galatians 5:22-23. James 1:14-15. Self-control isn’t about trying harder—it’s about learning to abide in Jesus and allowing the Holy Spirit to lead us in the space between impulse and action. In this message, we explore how unchecked desires can become our masters, but how God gives us the strength, wisdom, and “way of escape” to choose what honors Him. The good news is that we don’t have to fight for self-control alone: when we stay connected to Jesus, His Spirit produces the fruit we could never produce through willpower alone.

Galatians 5:22-23. Ephesians 4:1-3. Gentleness is often mistaken for weakness, but Scripture reveals it's actually strength under the control of the Holy Spirit. In this message, we discover how Jesus modeled true gentleness and why it's essential in our relationships, our witness, and even our hardest conversations. Learn how the fruit of gentleness can transform the way you respond when you're challenged, criticized, or called to stand for truth. Because the greatest strength isn't found in overpowering others—it's found in surrendering yourself to God.

Galatians 5:22-23. Hebrews 10:19-25. This week we continue our Fruit of the Spirit series by exploring what biblical faithfulness really means. Faithfulness isn't just about being dependable, it's about confidently drawing near to God through Jesus, trusting in His unchanging character, and allowing that trust to transform the way we live. Join us as we discover why God's faithfulness, not our performance, is the foundation of a life that bears lasting spiritual fruit.

Galatians 5:22-23. Titus 3:4-5. This week in our Fruit of the Spirit series, we explore goodness—what it is, how God perfectly demonstrates it, and how the Holy Spirit produces it in our lives. Discover why goodness is more than simply being nice; it's doing what is right for the good of others and the glory of God. Most importantly, see how the goodness of God is revealed at the cross and how, through Christ, we are called and empowered to reflect His goodness to a world that desperately needs Him..

Galatians 5:22-23. Luke 10:29-37. Kindness is more than being nice… it is the fruit of a life that is rooted in Christ. In this message, we explore how the kindness of Jesus transforms the way we see, approach, and impact the people around us, especially those who are difficult to love. Through the story of the Good Samaritan, we discover that kindness notices people, moves toward people, and puts the love of Jesus into action. When we abide in Christ, His kindness becomes visible through us and points others toward Him.

Galatians 5:22-23. 1 Timothy 1:15-16. Patience isn't just waiting well—it's reflecting the heart of God toward people. In this message, we discover that biblical patience is "long-tempered," choosing grace over anger because God has first been incredibly patient with us. As we abide in Christ, His patience begins to grow in us, transforming the way we respond to frustrating people and difficult moments. Listen in and be encouraged to connect more deeply with Jesus so His character is revealed through your life.

In this message from Galatians 5, we explore the Fruit of the Spirit called peace—a peace that comforts us in tribulation, guards us in anxiety, and ultimately reconciles us to God. As we begin our summer series on the Fruit of the Spirit, discover how abiding in Christ empowers us to fight the flesh, bear lasting fruit, and become the people God has called us to be.

Acts 2:1-41. The life of Peter was full of highs and lows, victories and failures, bold faith and painful mistakes — just like many of ours. In this message, we explore how the coming of the Holy Spirit at Pentecost transformed an ordinary fisherman into a fearless proclaimer of the Gospel, reminding us that when the Holy Spirit is present, life change happens. Through Acts 2, we’re challenged to break down barriers, boldly share Jesus, and trust God to move in ways we cannot. If Jesus truly is who He said He is, then that changes everything — for Peter, for the early church, and for us today.

Mark 14:66-72 & John 21:15-19. In this message from our series The Colorful Life of a Regular Dude, we take a raw and honest look at the life of Peter — a passionate follower of Jesus who experienced incredible spiritual highs and devastating failures. Through Peter’s denial, restoration, and renewed calling, we discover that Jesus does not abandon broken people, but meets them with grace, forgiveness, and purpose. Whether you’re walking through a season of victory or failure, this message is a reminder that God can still use imperfect people for His glory.

Matthew 17:1-8. Peter gets a front-row seat to the glory of Jesus on the Mount of Transfiguration—not because he earned it, but because Jesus brought him close anyway. In this message, we explore Peter’s highs, lows, interruptions, and failures, and the powerful reminder from God the Father: “Listen to Jesus.” If you’ve ever felt like your mistakes disqualified you, this message is an invitation to stick around, listen up, and discover that Jesus is still forming you.

Matthew 16:21-27. Peter’s life with Jesus was anything but predictable—fisherman, water-walker, bold confessor, and then suddenly… “Get behind me, Satan!” In this message, we dive into Matthew 16 and the powerful moment where Peter says “Never!” to Jesus, only to discover that resisting God’s plan can put us in dangerous territory. Sometimes following Christ means choosing God’s concerns over our own comfort, safety, and plans—and learning that when it comes to Jesus, we should never say never.

Matthew 16:13-20. This week in The Colorful Life of a Regular Dude, we follow Peter to one of the most important turning points in Jesus’ ministry. In the middle of a pagan city filled with false gods, Jesus asks the question above all questions: “Who do you say that I am?” Peter boldly declares that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of the living God—and that answer changes everything. This message challenges us to consider our own response and reminds us that eternity rests on how we answer that same question.

In this message from Matthew 14:22-33, we explore what Jesus actually means when he calls his disciples people of "little faith" — and why little faith is not the absence of faith, but a shift in attention away from Christ toward our circumstances. Through the story of Peter walking on water, we see how fear, doubt, and sinking moments don't disqualify us from Jesus's rescue — they invite it. When Peter cries out "Lord, save me," Jesus doesn't hesitate. This message is for anyone who feels like their faith isn't enough — because the good news is that Jesus meets us in the middle of the waves anyway.

Matthew 4:18-20. Peter’s story is proof that Jesus loves to choose the people the world overlooks. From failure and doubt to bold faith and explosive impact, Peter shows us that ordinary people can live extraordinary lives when they follow Jesus. In this message, we’ll walk through Peter’s biggest highs and lows and see how Jesus transformed a fisherman with no special pedigree into a rock of the early church. If you’ve ever felt basic, unqualified, or passed over, this message is for you.

Matthew 28:1-8. This Easter, we’re looking at the angel’s message to the women at the tomb in Matthew 28:6-8, where he gives us three steps to apply in our own lives: Recognize who Jesus is, Investigate and explore the evidence of His resurrection, and Go and share the good news with others. “He is not here, for He has risen, as He said.” Join us as we unpack this powerful call and discover what it means to see, believe, and tell others about the risen Christ.

James 5:13-20. In this message we discover what it means to follow Jesus together when life gets real. Walking through James 5:13–20, this message unpacks how we respond in every season: pray in suffering, praise in joy, call on others in weakness, confess in sin, and pursue those who wander. Instead of numbing pain or handling life alone, we’re invited into a powerful, honest connection with God and one another. This is a vision for a church that doesn’t hide—but heals, prays, and restores together.

James 5:1-6. In a world of uncertainty, frustration, and waiting, this message calls us back to a simple but powerful response: be patient and focused. Drawing from James 5, we’re reminded that like a farmer trusts the process, we’re called to trust God’s timing while faithfully doing His work. Patience isn’t passive—it’s active, purposeful, and rooted in the hope of Christ’s return. He’s worth the wait, and He’s worthy of the work.

James 5:1-6. In this message, we dive into one of the strongest warnings in the New Testament where James the Just confronts the dangers of wealth, complacency, and injustice. Through James 5:1–6, we wrestle with a difficult truth: in a global sense, many of us are the “rich” this passage speaks to. The message challenges us to examine how the pursuit of money and comfort can quietly corrode our souls and dull our compassion for others. Ultimately, it points us back to the generosity of the gospel, calling us to repentance, gratitude, justice, and lives marked by radical generosity.

James 4:1-6. We’re jumping back into the book of James to explore how everyday disciples can point to Jesus wherever they go. In this message, we uncover how selfish desires and the pursuit of “more” fuel conflict, disrupt peace, and pull our hearts away from God. James calls us to examine our motives, align our desires through prayer, and choose humility over pride. Discover how God’s greater grace transforms our hearts, restores our relationships, and leads us to lasting peace and contentment in Him.

1 Timothy 6:17-19. Money isn’t the problem—but the love of money can quietly take God’s place in our hearts. In this message, we build on the idea of freedom from the love of money and explore God’s way of keeping money in its proper place: as a tool, not a master. Through Scripture and real-life stories, we see how contentment, generosity, and giving to God actively combat greed, fear, and misplaced trust. Jesus reminds us that where our treasure goes, our heart follows—and real freedom is found when our hope, trust, and worship belong fully to Him.

In this message, we uncover how money can quietly become an idol and compete for our hearts. Philippians 3:12-15. It’s the first Sunday of the year and we’re launching a new series called Fresh. In Philippians 3, Paul teaches us something vital for a new beginning: if we’re going to move forward, we have to stop living backward. Forget what is behind, strain toward what’s ahead, and press on toward the prize. If you’re ready to release last year’s mistakes (and even last year’s successes), fix your eyes on Jesus, and chase a closer walk with Him in 2025, this is where it begins. Let’s start the year fresh and run our race forward.

Luke 2:27-32. Christmas is a season of waiting—waiting for family gatherings, favorite traditions, and yes, the presents. But what happens when the waiting feels long… or even exhausting? In this message, we step into the story of Simeon in Luke 2 and rediscover the heart of Advent: waiting with hope rooted in God’s promises. This message reminds us that real peace doesn’t come from perfect situations, but from promises fulfilled in Jesus Christ. Together we explore what it means to truly see Jesus—not as an idea or inspiration, but as our salvation. We’re challenged to remember that Jesus saves all people, to move toward those far from God, and to hold fast to the peace that comes from knowing Christ.

Luke 2:8-21. In this message we turn up one of the most iconic songs of all time—the angels’ “Gloria in excelsis Deo.” Before it became a lyric we stretch out in “Angels We Have Heard on High,” it was heaven’s announcement that God Himself had stepped into our world. We explore how the angels’ song reveals the true purpose of Christmas and the result of Christmas. As we revisit the shepherds, the manger, and the miracle, we’ll rediscover the wonder we often lose in the routine of the season. Slow down, receive His peace, and learn how to carry it into a world desperate for the hope only Jesus brings.

Luke 1:57-77. This week in our Original Christmas Playlist series, we explore Zechariah’s song—The Benedictus—a response born not from doubt, but from restored faith. After months of silence, Zechariah finally speaks, and his first words are worship: “Blessed be the Lord God of Israel.” His song declares God’s mercy, His faithfulness to His promises, and the unstoppable truth that what God has spoken is already as good as done. Jesus is the sunrise to those sitting in darkness—and His tender mercy still pursues us today.

In this message, we explore The Magnificat, Mary’s Spirit-filled song of praise in Luke 1, and discover why the church has long celebrated it as a powerful declaration of God’s greatness. Tracing the foretelling of John the Baptist, the announcement of Jesus, John’s first testimony, and Elizabeth’s blessing, we see what prompted Mary’s worship and why her response stands in contrast to Zechariah’s disbelief. Mary magnifies the Lord for His personal mercy, His justice toward the humble and those who fear Him, and His faithfulness to Abraham and His people across generations. This sermon invites us to join Mary in a life of reverent praise as we trust the God who scatters the proud, lifts the lowly, and remembers His promises forever.

In this Thanksgiving message, Pastor Andy walks us through Psalm 34 and invites us to “taste and see” the goodness of God through a four-course spiritual feast. Using humor, storytelling, and gospel-centered teaching, he reminds us that the main course of God’s goodness is His rescuing grace through Jesus. We then explore the side dishes and vegetables of God’s blessings and sanctifying work, even in seasons of struggle and uncertainty. Whether you’re preparing for Thanksgiving or longing for a deeper experience of God’s presence, this sermon will help you savor the grace, faithfulness, and life-changing goodness of God.

James 3:13-17. Everyone wants wisdom, but few understand what it actually is. It's not what you know, but how you live. This message is a charge to trade in "man's wisdom"—which only creates jealousy and disorder—for the transformational Wisdom From Above. We break down the 8 traits that define wisdom from above and issue a serious call: Imagine your home, work, and relationships being defined by God's wisdom. It’s time to stop the confusion and start living the life of peace and righteousness God intended.

James 3:1-12. Ever said something you wish you could take back? Maybe this week… maybe this morning? You’re not alone. In James 3, we’re reminded that our words have the power to direct, destroy, and reveal what’s truly in our hearts. Like a small spark that can set a whole forest ablaze, our tongues hold tremendous power—for life or for death. This week, we’ll unpack why the way we speak matters so deeply to God and how our words reflect who really rules our hearts. Because the truth is—you can’t fix your words until Jesus first transforms your heart.

James 2:14-26. In this message we explore one of the most debated topics in church history: faith and works. From Martin Luther’s bold stand at Wittenberg to James’ challenge to believers, we’ll wrestle with timeless questions: Is faith enough? Do works matter? And what does a living faith really look like? Join us as we dive deep into Scripture to rediscover that we are saved by grace alone through faith, yet that very faith should move us to action. Because faith without works is dead—and a living faith changes lives.

James 2:1-7. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. dreamed of a world where people would be judged not by the color of their skin, but by the content of their character. That dream wasn’t new — it echoes God’s heart revealed throughout Scripture. In this episode, we look at James 2 and the call to “show no partiality” as followers of Jesus. The church should be a refuge from the world’s divisions, a place where rich and poor, powerful and overlooked, are treated with equal love and dignity. Join us as we rediscover what it means to reflect an impartial God in a world obsessed with status, appearance, and success. Because in the Kingdom of God, the ground is level at the foot of the cross.

James 1:26-27. In the previous message we looked at James 1:22 which instructs us to be doers of the Word, not hearers only. In this message, we unpack what that really means and how we do it. True faith isn’t measured by what we know—it’s revealed by how we live. James contrasts worthless religion with pure and undefiled religion as he gives examples of controlling our tongues, caring for the vulnerable, and keeping ourselves unstained by the world. What we believe should shape how we behave.

James 1:19-21. The scripture text in today’s message challenges us to move from simply hearing God’s Word to living it out — because knowledge without application is foolishness, but obedience brings freedom. Pastor Jeff reminds us that the Bible isn’t just a mirror showing who we are; it’s a call to become who God created us to be. When we apply God’s truth, we’re not just doing something — we’re becoming someone: people marked by action, obedience, and love.

James 1:19-21. Life is full of trials, and while they can feel overwhelming, God uses them to shape us into people who persevere and stand firm in faith. In this message we’re reminded to be quick to listen, slow to speak, and slow to anger. These simple but powerful rhythms help us strip away sin, humbly receive God’s Word, and let it take root in our lives. When we choose Christ over the world, real change happens—and that’s where true strength and salvation are found.

From Galatians 2:20 to Romans 8, we’ll dig into Scripture that reminds us Christ lives in us, that we were created for His love, and that our freedom came at a great cost.

James 1:9-18. Temptation isn’t just an external struggle—it’s an internal battle of our desires, whether through self-exaltation, self-sufficiency, or chasing things that can never truly satisfy. We unpack how sin lures us in like a fisherman’s bait and why Scripture warns that unchecked desire always leads to sin and death. But the good news of the gospel is that temptation isn’t simply resisted—it’s replaced when we fix our hearts on Jesus, the only one who fulfills and transforms our desires. If you’ve ever wrestled with temptation and want biblical wisdom on how to overcome sin and live out everyday discipleship, this sermon from the book of James offers hope and practical truth for following Christ.

In this week’s message we’re reminded that ordinary moments can have eternal impact—and that our mission as the Church is actually very simple: make disciples, love God and love people. Because to Jesus, every number has a name, and every person has value. Listen in as we unpack the parable of the lost sheep, challenge ourselves to join the search, and discover how joy in heaven starts with just one more.

Matthew 7:24-27. This parable is not just a story about construction; it’s a call to action. In this message, we dive deep into the Parable of the Wise and Foolish Builders and explore the difference between merely hearing Jesus’ words and actually living them out. Storms will come. Trials will shake us. But Jesus makes it clear: only those who do what He says will stand firm. It’s not about how much you know—it’s about how much you obey. Your foundation determines your future. So we ask: Are you building on rock or sand? Join us as we talk about obedience, repentance, and what it truly means to be wise in the eyes of the Lord.

Luke 18:9-14. Remember the sting of getting picked last? In this message, we’re looking at one of Jesus’ most surprising parables—the Pharisee and the Tax Collector—and what it reveals about pride, humility, and how we try to justify ourselves. Whether it’s through religion, morality, politics, or performance, we all fall into the trap of trusting ourselves and looking down on others. But Jesus flips the script: the one who seemed the least worthy walked away justified because he came in humility, not self-righteousness. If you’re exhausted from trying to be good enough—or from comparing yourself to others—this message is for you.

Luke 1:13-21. The odds of winning the lottery are about 1 in 300 million — and even then, money can ruin more lives than it blesses. But this isn’t new — Jesus confronted this very issue in Luke 12. 1 Corinthians 1:1-31. In this message, we dive into the opening chapter of 1 Corinthians to explore the beautiful tension between God’s logic and human logic. What looks like foolishness to the world—the cross, grace, unity among diverse people—is actually the unmatched wisdom of God. We unpack how grace sustains us, how pride divides us, and how the world’s standards don’t determine God’s calling. In a culture that celebrates the powerful, the polished, and the put-together, we see how God flips the script—choosing the weak to shame the strong and calling the unqualified to carry His glory.

Ephesians 4:1–6. This message kicks off a brand-new series called Misfit Community. Let’s be honest — we’ve all had moments where we felt like we didn’t belong. But the Church is meant to be different. In Christ, our differences don’t divide us — they’re united under the cross. Matthew 21:1-11. This week, as we step into Holy Week, we’re walking the dusty road into Jerusalem alongside Jesus… and a donkey. Jesus’ triumphal entry isn’t marked by warhorses or royal fanfare—it’s marked by humility, intention, and the borrowed back of a simple beast of burden. But why a donkey? And what does that tell us about Jesus—and about us? In this message you’ll see how the humility of Christ, the provision of God, and the sovereignty of His plan are revealed in one simple story.
And more importantly, we’ll ask the question the city of Jerusalem couldn’t stop asking that day: “Who is this?” Prophet? Teacher? Savior? King? Who is Jesus—to you? Because once He enters your life as King… everything changes.

Hebrews 12:1-4. In the face of persecution, isolation, and hardship, the message is clear: we aren’t the first to face it and we won’t be the last. Just as the cloud of witnesses who have gone before us remained faithful, we too are called to "run with endurance" by laying aside weights and sin, focusing on Jesus, and supporting one another. This message challenges us to evaluate what hinders our walk with God and how we can live more fully for Him in our daily lives.

Hebrews 10:24. In this message, we explore the powerful message of Hebrews 10:24, where believers are called to "spur one another on" to love and good works. Using the metaphor of spurs in rodeo, we dive into how, like a rider communicates with a horse, we too are called to gently encourage and inspire each other to live out God's purposes. We discuss the importance of spurring each other toward love, good deeds, and faithfulness, while also reflecting on how God stirs us up to fulfill His will. Tune in for a heartfelt conversation about how small acts of encouragement can make a big difference in the lives of others.

Will we wait as hopeless individuals or will we wait as people of great hope? In Scripture we are given reasons that we as followers of Christ should be living and waiting with a “thrill of hope.” In this message we look at two of those reasons that should enable us to wait with hope until Christ returns.

If all of our gratitude stays in our own mindand never turns into the outward action of thanksgiving, then what good is it? Ourresponse when faced with the love of God and his blessings in our lives should beabsolute worship and thanksgiving, and having a life built up in thanksgiving isgoing to change the way that we live. In today's message, Pastor Andy highlights 2 things: Reminding us again of the ridiculousblessings that God has given us to be thankful for and the understanding of these blessings of God and how it shapes our life, and how we display ourthanksgiving to the world.

In today's message, Dr. James Spencer addresses the connection between theology and politics, emphasizing how underlying political issues often stem from theological concerns. He highlights the challenges faced by ancient Israel, particularly the corrupt leadership of Eli's sons and how their desire for stability led them to reject God's authority.
Most importantly, he shares how we should maintain our faithfulness and trust in God amidst changing political landscapes, reinforcing that true hope comes from God alone.

Luke 19:1-10. Football is kicking off and every team has the same goal: WIN. Every team wants to win, but not every team does it the same way. While the goal is the same, the playbook for each team is different. It’s much the same with churches. We should all have the same goal: TO MAKE DISCIPLES. How that is accomplished differs depending on the church. In this message we look at the mission of Skyline Church as we attempt to make disciples of Jesus.

Matthew 7:12-14. If you’re looking for the easy way through life… the way of Jesus isn’t it. The way of Jesus is the way of sacrifice, service, and surrender. But the way of Jesus is also the way of fulfillment, peace, and hope. More than that, the way of Jesus is the only way to eternal life. In this message we look at what makes the “golden rule” so difficult to live out and why it’s a keystone mile marker on the narrow road of following Jesus.
Matthew 7:7-11. As Jesus continues teaching in the Sermon on the Mount he begins to show us what we should do when we are having trouble living out our faith. We should pray for his help. The vast majority of Americans—no matter their religious affiliation or non-affiliation—participate in some kind of prayer activity.” While it’s great that people are engaging in prayer, the questions we have to think about are: WHO are they praying to? WHAT are they praying for? The question many Christians wrestle with is HOW do I pray? In this message we look at what Jesus says about how we should pray.

Ephesians 5:15-17 & Mark 1:35-39. We all would love more time. But if God magically gave us an extra hour a day, most of us would not spend that extra hour doing the things that matter most. William Penn said, “Time is what we want most, but what we use worst.” Since we can’t go back in time or make more time, we only have one choice: to make the most of the time we have. Psalm 77:11-14. It is so easy for us to forget things. We forget keys or wallets at home. We forget to send that text or reply to that email. Forgetfulness is normal and usually the consequences aren’t too bad. But what happens when we begin to forget things about God? Well, that definitely has an impact on our life. In this message we explore the importance of remembering what God has done and recognizing what God is doing.

Acts 9:1-19. Some stories in the Bible teach us about how to live, how to love, or how to seek direction from God. However, some stories just teach us about who God is. As much as we love to get immediate answers from God in the Bible, the most important truth we can uncover is who God is and what He is like. In this message we look at the incredible conversion of Saul and ask, “What can I learn about God in this text?”

Acts 8:1-25. While walking through the ups and downs of life people often wonder if God is in control. Some people, in a desire for power or money, try to control God for their own benefit. Is God in control? Can God be controlled? Those are great questions that we have to answer if we are going to truly understand the God that we serve. In this message we take a look at those questions in the life of the early church.

Acts 6:1-7. Sometimes problems in the church are simply a result of people in the church. Whenever a group of people of various ages and from different backgrounds come together, there is bound to be issues. However, the same people involved in the problem can become a part of the solution if they seek the Lord. In this message we take a deep dive to see how the early church handled one of their first in-church problems and ask ourselves what we can learn from their example.

Acts 5:12-42. Every person has a belief system. Some have a belief system based upon things they were taught, books they read, and laws that are made. Others have a belief system based upon their religious beliefs. The belief system we hold matters because it determines what we will be faithful to when we are pressed. In this message we look at where the early church chose to put their faith when they were pressed and how we can learn from them today.

Ephesians 5:21-33. What makes a marriage work? We could come up with a million answers as to what contributes to a happy marriage, but nothing is more valuable to a healthy marriage than two individuals committed to fulfilling their God-given roles in marriage. While culture may have hijacked God’s definition and plan for marriage, Christians still have an opportunity to reclaim marriage for God’s glory by demonstrating their obedience to God’s plan for marriage. In this message we look at what God’s Word says about how the husband and wife ought to love one another in marriage.

Genesis 2:20-24. Marriage wasn’t created by culture or simply for convenience. Marriage was created by God and therefore serves a great purpose. But how do we enter into marriage? What are some mindsets that we need to have as we enter into this holy union? In Genesis 2, Matthew 19, and Ephesians 5 we see a simple plan for marriage reiterated in Scripture. In this message, we look at how we can implement this plan into our marriages.

Matthew 7:24-27. Every home has a foundation. More specifically, every house has a physical foundation and every family has a spiritual or philosophical foundation. To the house and to the family, the foundation determines the longevity and stability of everything that is built upon it. An unstable foundation will lead to an unstable house or family. In Matthew 7 Jesus gives us some important words to consider when we are deciding what we are going to build our life upon.

Matthew 5:17-19. As time goes on computers tend to accumulate junk. Eventually this junk that has been accumulating impacts the performance of said computer. Would you believe that principle is not unique to computers but also true with our life? If we aren’t purposeful we accumulate thought patterns, habits, and routines that impact how we live out our purpose. The best way to fix a computer is a reboot. People often think of the Bible as a collection of individual stories about good moral people and their relationship with God. However, this thinking is incomplete. Acts 2:1-13. You’ve been following the Son of God in the flesh for three years and now He has returned to heaven. What do you do if you’re the early church? They did exactly what Jesus instructed them to. They waited for the promise of the Holy Spirit. Acts 1:1-11. In Acts we get a picture of a critical 30-40 years in history (starting in AD 33) in which we see the Way of Christ, Christianity, became the largest religion in the world. Any person, organization or business can potentially drift from their original mission if they aren’t careful. The church is no different. We tend to shift from that which was core to the early church and it’s best we get back to our most pure example of what being the church should look like.

1 Corinthians 1:10. Our world is full of division. Social media has amplified our division. Politics are fueled by it. But in the church, it should not be so. We should not be like the rest of the world, in fact, we should set a better, more united example. One way we can do that is with the words we use. In today’s message Pastor Jeff shares three things to not do with our words if we want to pursue unity.

It almost seems natural to use our words to elevate ourselves above others and that usually happens by putting them down. It’s great to know that even though being “godly” seems difficult, God has made it possible for us to live godly lives when He is in His proper place. The ability to control our impulses and desires is easier said than done. We live in a world in which many people have given up pursuing self-control. Daniel 6. Perhaps the most popular story in the book of Daniel is the story of the Lion’s Den. It’s a story that reveals to us the type of character and faith that Daniel possesses. The term “lion’s den” is often used to describe a situation in which you are faced with antagonism or hostility. In many ways, that’s the world we live in. In this message we look at what type of faith we should have so that, like Daniel, we can not just survive, but thrive in the lion’s den.

How can the follower of Christ be faithful to God when facing threats and consequences from society? Our faithfulness is dependent on our belief in God’s power and our trust in His promises. In this message we discuss how we can be bold and unashamed as we face off against cultural idols.

Daniel 1. The morals of society seem to be deteriorating at record speed. Things that were once viewed as shameful, are now celebrated. Sins thought to be unimaginable are now commonly embraced in our world. A Bible-believing Christian used to be respected for their “heartfelt beliefs” and are now condemned for “hateful opinions.” In today’s message we explore the question: will we do what is socially acceptable to people if it is spiritual unacceptable to God?

Luke 24:1-8. Life is full of questions. At every stage of life we have what we feel are extremely important questions to be answered. The older we get, the more difficult the questions seem to get. There is one question that supercedes the rest: Do I believe in the resurrection of Jesus? The answer to this question changes everything. In today’s Easter message we will look at some biblical and extra-biblical evidence that give us hope that Jesus is who He said He was and did what He promised He’d do.

Hebrews 11:32-38. We read many stories throughout Scripture about the faithfulness that leads to success. But what happens when faithfulness doesn’t lead to success? Were we not faithful? Did God not come through? Being faithful to God has two faces. Sometimes it leads to doing great things, however, sometimes it leads to suffering great things. In this message we look at both sides of faithfulness and how God is honored in each.

Hebrews 11:32 & Judges 6-7. Faith isn’t faith if you got it all figured out. What about trusting God when you are uncertain? It takes faith. What about trusting God to do the unexplainable? It takes faith. That’s what makes faith, faith. When you trust God even when you don’t fully understand. In this message we look at the story of Gideon to see how each little step of faith led to a big victory.

Hebrews 11:8-19. Faith is like a muscle; it grows when you use it. That seems simple, but using faith is often not easy. Faith isn’t easy when it takes us into the unknown but it’s in the unknown that we see God make Himself known. It’s when we make a decision to trust God when He leads us into the unknown or when He leads us to do the unimaginable that our faith muscle grows as we witness His faithfulness. In this message we look at Abraham and Sarah to see how their faith in God lead to a legacy of faith we follow today.

Hebrews 11:7. When does faith become hard? When it is put to the test. When we are going through something we’ve never experienced before, it can be difficult to keep the faith. When we are doing something we’ve never done before, it can be hard to stand firm in our faith. However, it’s in these unprecedented times that we find out how much faith we really have. In this message we look at the example of Noah to explore how we can have faith in unprecedented times.

Hebrews 11 & Matthew 17:14-20. Faith is to have complete trust in something or someone. We have faith that the chair will hold us when we sit down. We have faith that the car will stop when we push the brakes. We can say we believe in the chair or in our brakes, but until we sit down or try to stop we aren’t exercising our faith. We will take a deep dive into faith throughout this message series but today we start by answering the simple question: What is faith and why does it matter?

How is it that the church has managed to stay relevant and grow throughout the generations? It doesn’t happen on accident. It only happens when followers of Jesus stay future focused. In this message we talk about how we can be intentional about investing the most important news (gospel) to our most important resource (kids).

Luke 10:30-37. As followers of Jesus we follow the example of Jesus. In Mark 10 Jesus is pretty clear that if you want to be great, you must be a servant. He continues to say that even He came to be a servant, not to be served. Therein lies that mindset for the follower of Christ. We must be servant minded. In today’s message we will look at questions that help us understand who we should serve, when we should serve, and how we should serve so that we might be difference makers for Christ.

Hebrews 5:11-14 & Colossians 1:9-10. We want to see and celebrate when people take that “next step”. The Bible speaks of Christians as being “renewed” and “transformed.” Both of those words indicate an initial change of heart and a continual change of mind. As Christians, we are to be continually taking next steps to become more like Christ. In this message we look at God’s Word to see that heaven celebrates taking next steps toward Christ and so should we.

Matthew 2:1-12. As we explore the depth of a classic Christmas carol each week, this week we ask ourselves, “how do I approach Jesus?” As we look at the first Christmas we see examples of how we can approach Jesus from several different groups of people. Some were anti-Jesus. Others were indifferent about Him. Still others were passionate in the adoration of Him. It’s good to learn from them but it’s great to ask ourselves, “how am I approaching Jesus in my life?”

Mark 16:1-8. Throughout our journey in Mark the goal has been to know and be discipled by Jesus Christ. To see how he lived, loved, and served others. To watch him respond, react, and reach out to those who have hurt him or been hurt themselves. If not for the resurrection, none of that matters. The resurrection changes everything. In this message we look at Mark’s account of the resurrection and discuss what it changes for us.

Mark 15. We talk about WHAT Christians should do a lot. We should love God, love others like we love ourselves, generously give, graciously forgive, consistently pursue holiness and always remain humble. But WHY? WHY should we live that way? Mark 14:53-65. We have all faced situations in life that made us think, “life’s not fair!” That is an absolute fact. Life is not fair. That’s never been more true than in the life of Jesus Christ. As we look at the trial of Jesus we see unfairness, but we also see wisdom from Jesus as he carefully chooses when to be silent and when to speak. Most importantly, in this story we see that even though life’s not fair, God is still good.

Mark 14:10-11, 43-52. It was a total misunderstanding of who Jesus was that led to his betrayal, arrest, and crucifixion. Those who acted out in these ways didn’t understand that He was the Son of God and that led them to miss the mark pretty badly. Anytime we misunderstand who Jesus is and what His Kingdom is about… it can lead to us missing the mark. In today’s message we look at the betrayal and arrest of Jesus to consider if we are really that different from Judas who betrayed him or the disciples who deserted him.

Mark 14:12-26. Why do festivals or holidays exist? Usually, they are created to remind us of someone who was great or something great that was done for us. Throughout the Bible we see examples of festivals and celebrations that point toward God and His provision for His people. There is no greater example of this than the one who Jesus gave to His disciples (and us) the night He was betrayed. In this message we will look at what He gave us and why it matters.

Mark 13:1-37. The discussions over the end times never seem to cease. When will it happen? What will it be like? In Mark 13 Jesus’ disciples ask him these questions and while Jesus doesn’t give them the “when”, he does give us a lot of wisdom on “what” we should be doing until then.

Mark 12:41-44. It may surprise you that God’s evaluation of a person is drastically different than man’s evaluation of a person. While man looks at the outside of a person, God sees deeper. God sees the heart. The truth that God sees your heart will either excite you or scare you depending on the condition of your heart. In the context of today’s scripture we recognize that God sees our heart when we give to Him. This message is a quick dive into why giving matters to God and what kind of giving impresses Him.

Mark 12:28-31. “First things first.” We tend to say or hear that phrase a lot. Each time it is used the speaker is trying to convey that they need to do the most important things before they do the things of lesser importance. In this text Jesus is asked a big question, “What is the most important commandment?” They want to know what needs to go first in this life. In this message we look at what Jesus says we need to prioritize as we put “first things first.”

Mark 12:18-27. What is God like? What is heaven like? Two very big questions. If we don’t look in the right place for the answers to those questions then we will never get an accurate understanding of God or heaven. So where do we go? In this passage of Scripture Jesus reveals that great misunderstandings happen when we don’t understand God’s Word. In this message we look at how God’s Word can inform and reform our understanding of Him.

Mark 11:12-21. There are some things in life that really catch our attention. They are big, bright, flashy, busy, and engaging. They appear to have all the answers or at least have things figured out. But many of those things, as we get closer, we are disappointed to find out they have no substance to them. Mark 11:1-11. We have heard some incredible stories of past kings, pharaohs, monarchs, or emperors. Many of them struggle with humility in their never-ending pursuit of sovereignty. When we think of a king, many times we think of an egotistical person who wants to control everything even though they can’t. Those are earthly kings. Acts 2:42-47. In life we often want amazing results without putting in the effort it takes to achieve them. We want to be in great shape without eating well and exercising. We want more money without working harder or longer. In Acts 2 we read about an incredible move of the Holy Spirit as it says, “And the Lord added to their number day by day those who were being saved.” But what came before those amazing results? In this message we look at what the early church was doing when God moved mightily through them.

Mark 10:31-45. In the movie Talladega Nights, Ricky Bobby famously says, “If you ain’t first, you’re last.” While hilarious in the context of the movie, it’s a sad truth that many people live only to be first in the eyes of others. But are the eyes of others really what matters most? What does it take to be first in the eyes of God? We all desire greatness. We spend so much of our time seeking out people we think are great and trying to model our lives like them so we can become great. But what does it mean to be great. Mark 7:1-23. It’s hard for us to know the heart of another person. It’s easy to see what they do and hear what they say but to know what they truly feel in their heart can be difficult. For that reason, many religious people have created man-made traditions to judge the spiritual condition of others. In this passage of Scripture we take a look at what Jesus says about that and learn how we can care for the thing that Jesus says matters most: our heart.

Mark 2:23 - Mark 3:6. What happens when we take what God has called “good” and add to it? In a word: legalism. If we aren’t careful, in our pursuit of holiness we will create an additional list of rules or demands and hold others accountable to them as well. Our pursuit of Christ becomes a pursuit of following rules and we falsely believe that it’s our obedience that saves instead of Christ alone that saves. In today’s message Pastor Jeff explores Jesus’ take on the Sabbath and legalism.
