So many of us are wandering through life disconnected, unfulfilled and craving deeper meaning.
Jenn and Holly, two spiritual, yogi Mama's, connected at a soul level, are here to share our experiences, life journey, wisdom and how we live our yoga "Off the Mat".
Join us bi-weekly as we talk about the philosophy of yoga, consciousness, spirituality, beliefs, life purpose, and so much more.
This episode dives into the huge topic of stress. Stress has basically become a baseline for so many of us, and consciously or unconsciously we are just accepting this. We are choosing to live in a state of stress. Stressful events, and stressors are usually not a choice. But how we respond to stress, and whether we hold onto it is a choice. This is not meant to be a shame trigger. Most of us have not been shown how to move through, and release stress. We have not been taught how to regulate our nervous systems. Our culture loves to glorify stress, and busyness. But as conscious beings, we don't think we are just here to live in a heightened state of reactivity. Know that you deserve to feel aligned, and at peace. Even amongst the ups and downs life hands us.
***This is not professional advice, simply a perspective. There are so many effective tools available to help us learn to deal with, and release stress. Please talk to a health care provider, or a professional if you are feeling overwhelmed by stress.
Just a quick little episode to remind you, that you are enough. You are worthy or love, of life exactly as you are. When you begin to fall into a space of self-doubt, this is a cue to turn inwards. To release anything holding you back from inner acceptance, love and peace.
It is okay to change your mind, and your mindset. Not only are you allowed to change your mind, you are also allowed to change your mindset. This episode is a reminder to ourselves also, as we share some exciting new about big things happening at Open Hearts. We had to give ourselves permission to change our minds. As you evolve, as you change, as your life circumstances shift certain aspects of your life may longer feel aligned. But society does not always make changing our minds easy. Whether it is starting a new career, leaving a relationship, or simply wanting to feel differently there are so many things that can feel like resistance.
We talk through what this looks like from our perspective, and how money plays such a huge role in people staying stuck in places that are no longer for them. This is because our world is built around currency.
Are you needing to give yourself the space to change your mind?
We get a little existential in this episode, and take you behind the scenes into an ongoing conversation we have. Buckle in as we chat alternate realities, the expansiveness of the universe, limitations of the human ego, exploring consciousness, 4D/5D, and so much more.
We encourage you to open your mind, let go of expectation, and just simply notice what comes up for you as you listen.
*Disclaimer; everything in this episode is simply our personal opinion, and our interpretation of information. Always conduct your own "research", and consult trusted practitioners prior to exploring plant medicine.
We all hold both Feminine and Masculine energy within ourselves, and one is not superior to the other. In this episode we break down what that means to us. And how we can begin to recognize and honour our own unique energy formula. When we do this, we can truly begin to step more fully into self acceptance and within that find our potential. In a society that highly values masculine energy traits, even to the point of celebrating toxic masculinity we have often been made to feel that feminine energy is weak. But both energies hold their own type of strength.
It's okay to not be okay. Really what does "okay" even mean? We are all messy, complex, feeling beings. Here for a human experience, which we truly believe includes all emotions, including suffering. Perhaps our expectations, or attachment to non-suffering is what creates even more unease in ourselves.
We ramble in many directions throughout the episode, but it fully encapsulates our theme today. No one is perfect, we are all messy in our own way. Feel what you feel, reach out and connect with others. Remember that you do not need to have it all together. And it is okay to ask for help.
We begin to unravel the concept of "The Pursuit of Excess". The idea that what we have is never enough, and that we are constantly in a space of seeking more. And not only the seeking of materialistic items, but also the never ending pursuit of new information. We live in world filled with so much choice, endless choice. Which can often make it difficult to value what we have, and celebrate this current version of ourselves. Perhaps its this pursuit, and these choices that are contributing to the overwhelm, the anxiety, the feelings of defeat. Where in your life could you simplify things? And how would this contribute to living a more fulfilled, and vibrant life.
In this episode we dive into the act of "throwing shade", as we have been observing this in so many different ways lately. Energy is like a boomerang, what we put out into the world is going to come back to us. When we are caught in an ego driven state, it can feel easy to blame everyone and everything else around us for our circumstances. But when we put negative energy about someone else out in the world, we create a negative energy cycle for ourselves. When we engage is reactive behaviour to someone else's negativity we just engage in their negative energy cycle. So how do we begin to shift these cycles? Tune in to hear our perspectives on this topic.
Every human interaction is an exchange of energy, whether you realize it as such or not. When we begin to understand this, we can be more mindful about how our energy flows to and from other humans. We dive into protecting our own energy, recognizing when we might be impacting others vibration, and start to scrape the surface of vulnerability (oooooh, such a big juicy topic). From romantic relationships, to parenting, to interactions with strangers and everything in between. As we deepen our understanding of this, we can begin to raise our own vibration and therefore the vibration and frequency of those around us.
Continuing on the topic of energy (our favourite), we begin to explore how to begin to recognize and acknowledge our own unique energy cycles, and patterns. We discuss our experience in learning to recognize when our energy is not flowing, and to honour our nature and understand that nothing in nature blooms constantly (including humans). From here have the opportunity to get honest with ourselves about what increases our vibration, and what takes away from it. Once we start to understand this on an energetic level, we can really start to change our lives. Change your energy, change your life.
Tune is as we share our own experiences with the ebb and flow of energy.
Everything is energy, and that is just science. But how many of us know how to mindfully connect with and shift our energy.
In episode #4 we start to dip our toe into this huge topic. We chat about energy and how is affects everything in our lives. How our beliefs, thoughts, and behaviours impact our energy and therefore our experiences. And we share some fun little stories about our children, and how they seem to understand the energetic world more deeply than most adults. We are so attached to the physical, we want to feel, touch and comprehend everything. When we begin to work with our energy, there is a huge element of trust and surrender.
Today we continue our conversation from Episode #2; Should vs Must, and begin to explore how to connect with your Dharma
We share some of our practices, and how we explore the idea of Dharma or purpose in our every day lives.
The hardest part is getting quiet/still enough to turn inward, and then to be brave enough to follow those little whispers from within. We believe it is life long work, and a continuous practice. But our biggest take away from this episode, is give yourself permission to change. Give yourself permission to explore, and change paths if you're feeling called to do so.
In this episode we are diving right in; Should vs Must. Today we explore the big, juicy topic of Dharma, or life purpose.
How many are living their lives based on others expectations, societies expectations? And how many are living a life aligned with themselves, and their deeper purpose?
We set off on a life path, perhaps thinking we know what we are doing, but how often do you give yourself the permission to pause and evaluate if that is actually the direction you want to continue on? We encourage you to explore those inner whispers, to go against the grain, to change your mind, to change your life. Dream big, choose an aligned life, and give yourself permission to change.
