Yellow Soul is an interview-based podcast holding rogue conversations for you to know “if it defined you, it matters, let’s talk about it."
In this episode my Co-host, Brit Albin, shares her origin story of artistry, what keeps her going, and why she believes stepping over lines of fear transforms your life. We both talk about rhythms in our lives which shape our day to day creativity and inspiration. A fascinating detail about her story is how she learned to create beautiful legacy pieces in the form of texture art! You've been waiting for a sign, I know you have.
When I released my book, a dear friend said to me, "Juliette, the unedited journal entries in your book help me realize what's possible in my relationship with Jesus." Reflecting on her words inspired me to pull this audio from the vault recorded on April 4, 2022, at 1:53 a.m. I recorded this in real-time right after I hit "send" to my editor on the final manuscript, the typeset, to be sent off to the printer. It's raw and vulnerable and I didn't fight the tears, I let them flow with you (pardon the sniffles).
A year ago today (how has it already been a year, people?), August 29, 2022, a little 13 year old's dream, of becoming a published author, was fulfilled. My first book, Watershed Warrior, was published with The Fedd Agency, and released to the world. On the last day of my audiobook recording, I was sitting in the studio with the audio engineer, JJ Plasencio and his beautiful wife, Melissa, and he said, "Jules, you just breathed-out a book!" God has taken my words to places my feet have never been and to people I have never met. Relishing in His goodness, reflecting on His faithfulness.
Pause with me for a moment and feel the rhythm of your own breath moving through your lungs. Maybe Shania Twain said it best in her song Inhale/Exhale AIR, "What you gonna do with that air?"
You were looking for a "sign" to write your book, right? Since the beginning of my writing process in 2020, countless people have said to me, "I know I'm supposed to write a book." Here's my question for you fellow humans, "What does it feel like to have a book inside of your soul unwritten?" Can you take anymore? I write because I must. The pen is my sword I steward with utmost care and I wield it in hopes of igniting fire inside of every willing reader to pioneer their freedom!
I hope you enjoy this bonus episode of Yellow Soul and if you're ready to write that unwritten book, I've included some information in this ep to help you get started!
Thanks for listening!
xx,
Juliette

Welcome to our first segment of Groundtable (Sit Down Look Up) on Yellow Soul! You'll meet my incredible co-host Brit Albin! Learn who she is from this previous interview. In today's episode we have the honor of listening to the unfolding of a miraculous story from our guest Susan Binkley, Author of My Front Row Seat A Collection of Stories From My Time Working Alongside Women In Recovery and Founder of non-profit, Blue Monarch. Susan and I were beautifully connected through Tyler Bertola, Literary Agent, with our publisher, The Fedd Agency.
Blue Monarch recently celebrated their 20th year as an organization! Blue Monarch's mission is to provide a long-term, residential and therapeutic Christian community for women and their children to break adverse cycles and rebuild their families. They assist women and their children who are overcoming addiction, abuse, and economic hardship to transform in mind, body, and spirit. Their program focuses on the child’s recovery as much as the mom’s and Susan shares more in depth with us just how important these children are to her! They also provide hands-on coaching for mothers learning to parent their children sober. They believe destructive cycles can be broken, families can be healed, and freedom from addiction can be found through Christ.
Susan and her team have supported families since 2003 through Blue Monarch and has served nearly 1,000 women and children and close to 350 children have been reunited with their mothers who had previously lost custody!
A few of our favorite pieces Susan shares with us is how she and her team prevent burnout, pivots in her organization that were a game changer, and why it's so important to say, "yes," to your mission! We adores Susan's grace, grit, and gumption which has shaped her conviction to do some really hard things that became beautiful in her life.
If you are a non-profit owner or looking to get started, have your pen and paper ready to write down her pearls of wisdom!
We believe this could be the best part of your day!
Thank you for listening friend!

If you love this mini, please drop me a note and share this with a friend who could use this same filter :)

A few months ago my right hand-woman and confidante, Shallan Lichnovsky, created the gift of a getaway to celebrate finishing my new book, Watershed Warrior! In this episode come sit with us on the cabin deck tucked away in beautiful Bailey, Colorado. Shallan and I were mesmerized by the goodness of God all around us and so our dialogue began. A few minutes in we were talking about all the beautiful souls we prayed could experience Him the way we were in that moment. So, we pressed record. Life is messy and incredible, yet in the midst of it all we learn to find the solace our souls need by inviting the most important parts in. This episode only contains a few edits and we hope you enjoy the vulnerability of our time with you.
Also, I would love to hear from you on Instagram, find me @juliettemarhoferdugger Thanks again for holding space for this conversation today and sharing it with your girlfriends! Together we are inspiring others to begin their own Yellow Soul dialogue!
