Jesus said that the anointing of his feet with oil by the woman in Bethany will be told wherever the gospel is proclaimed. What she did has rarely been preached. Hell and the devil have been the motivation for our gospel instead of calling people to pour out surrender and worship at the feet of Jesus.
When we start asking, "how far is too far?", "is it a sin?", "is it wrong?", we are already in a compromising position. Instead, ask, "how does this affect my life union with God?"
As children of God, purposed to bear His image, we are agents of joy to creation. Yet, also, we must grieve and sorrow in the brokenness of this world to be seasoned priests with a heart for others. Creation truly longs for the manifestation of the sons of God. But how do we deal with such seasons of mourning? Manmak Vontau is my beloved fiance. Having lost her biological mother at a tender age, she has gone through the thick and thin of recurring moments of grief. Our dear friend, Pauline, leads a ministry called Fathered By Abba in Nigeria which is a fellowship for those who are healing from the heartbreak of loss. Spiritual blindness. Such was the state of Israel during Isaiah's time. It is a good description of the state of the church today and the world at large. In this episode, Sharon speaks about the various implications of Spiritual blindness both in the Old and the New Testament. And also, how it can be cured through our seizing the moment of a personal encounter with Jesus (Luke 18:35-43). Just as blindness touches many parts of a man like his mind (Ephesians 4:17) and his understanding (Luke 24:13-35); so can a man see the varied sevenfold depths of God whose sight is restored to see Jesus. Sharon Fletcher is one of the leaders at Proclaiming Jesus Ministries. I consider her as a behind-the-scenes servant who always propels others in the body of Christ to go forth and shine. I have benefited a lot from her wise counsel and relational-based leadership as her Spiritual son. Without a doubt, she is a genuine prophetic woman of God that is driven by one thing and that alone -- the Glory of God. She is the mother to Chad Wilt whom I hosted in the last podcast.
"In the year that King Uzziah died I saw the Lord sitting upon a throne, high and lifted up; and the train of His robe filled the temple." - Isaiah 6:1 ESV I can, with absolute certainty, say that Chad Wilt is an exemplary man. He is the Senior Pastor of Proclaiming Jesus Ministries in Harrison, AR in the USA. His genuine heart in ministry has seen him and His wife Tehillah together with their fellow leaders maneuver through the stormy waters of church modernism with apostolic wisdom. In this episode, Chad explores the vision that Isaiah saw which made a seasoned prophet like him shaken by the Holiness of the Lord in His temple. This clarity of vision only came after the death of King Uzziah. This king symbolizes many things in our lives and in the church today that make us lose sight of Jesus and get confused by the patterns of the world. All springing from an Adamic nature that needs to die.
We continue to unravel the King so promised. Righteous and gracious He is. And the only hope for fallen humanity. Historical backgrounds, Worldviews, and Thematic approaches will help you study the book of Isaiah better. All in the hope that you will have a personal encounter with the King and be converted as in Isaiah 8:18 - 9:2.
In this series, we study the book of Isaiah. In the hope to unpack, through the Holy Spirit, what God has for our local community and the global church.
This episode focuses on the first chapter of Isaiah up to Chapter 2:5. We see the jealousy of a Father-King over His children who have lost their identity and are left wounded in selfish pursuits (1:2b-3, 1:5-6). The fatherly-king gives hope to her bride that is left as a remnant mentioned in Romans 9:29. The remnant is the people of Israel who have chosen God over idols. The righteous king will use judgment as a way of purifying her bride and restoring her to glory. But the judgment will consume all those who refuse His mercy.
We are given a glimpse of the Messianic reign through Christ Jesus in Chapter 2:1-5. And are begged for an eschatological perspective in life where we live as passers-by walking in the light.
