Steve Kay Show: Recent Episodes

Steve Kay

Good day to all listeners and participants. This is somewhat of a variety talk show, sometimes I have guests on of various backgrounds whom I help to promote and reach new audiences whom previously were not aware of them. Other episodes I practice my stand up comedy which I often think of but do not usually perform on stage, or news snippets that I find, or just thoughts of the day, pet peeves. Some episodes you will l hear music and talk. I realize that there are many other podcasts out there to listen to, I could not listen to all the podcasts myself, so if you find me, please enjoy. In November, 2022, Nicholaus Cruz was sentenced to multiple life sentences for the horrific murders at Marjorie Stoneman Douglas High School. The families of the victims made very powerful victim impact statements. I did not write all of them down, but I am sharing what I did copy. You can find more of the statements on U Tube. This episode is to help to give a voice to the victims and their families, and in hopes that changes are made so that nobody ever has to go through this type of tragedy again.

I hate it when someone responds with "Ok" it is such a dismissive way to treat someone.

For example, I told a manager once that Sunday would be my last day, all he replied was curtly "ok"

I saw a passed a neighbor once, his dog walked up to greet me, I smiled and said "all the dogs like to say hello" He curtly replied through his cigarette "Ok"

But folks have no problem walking up to you and saying "my man, do you know where this is or hey boss? can you spare a dollar?"

People can be.................

"Greed is Good"

If it is so good then why do we have a country so divided by hate, and countries ready to blow each other up at no limit to living sacrifice?

Because of greed and lack of gratitiude.

We let the evil take the wheel a long time ago.

Should penal institutions facilitate a mechanism to voice complaints about treatment? and should families be allowed to advocate for their family member?

Or does that undermine the purpose of the incarceration, which can be to teach inmate discipline and learning to abide by rules?

Does encouraging advocacy strip the effects of the prison sentence? or is it a legitimate set of checks and balances to prevent injury, death, and mistreatment of human beings?

These are ethical questions which warrant a dialogue.

Criminality, deceipt, profit, greed leading up to murder or as an after effect of the murder, such as profit from life ins policies.

Good morning all,

Good morning listeners,

I am just sitting here making some chit chat with you all.

Hope all is doing well out there.

I was just thinking about how detectives give suspects a fast food meal in the interrogation room, and how it really is not worth it to commit a crime, throw away your life just to get a free Burger King meal.

As you can see I dont have much to talk about, but its 12:38am, who the heck is up now on a weeknight? only people who are at their job or people who are making love. I am unemployed and single, so I am the walking dead.

Thanks for tuning in.

Good evening listeners,

Just wanted to share a little laugh with you.

I had recently applied for a little gig, the guy organizing it e mailed me about what I should wear for the gig (acting extra)

He wrote "just pretend your on a night out with your boys"

But he does not realize, that he made an assumption, that I have a crew of "boys"

There are some true loners out there, not everyone is part of a "crew"

There are some Eleanor Rigbys and Father Mackenzies, so please be mindful.

Good evening all

Just kicking back here on this July 7, wow, that was my grandmother's birthday, if she were here today she would be 119 years old, now that's some trip.

Anyway, just trying to sharpen my verbal chops here, you know, use or or lose it before I have to say "I tossed it and I lost it"

Don't lost it folks, unless you want to. And remember what DNA stands for, "do not associate" meaning, stay by yourself, don't touch others and less chances of being accused of a crime.

Thanks for tuning in out there in radio-land.

Hello Folks,

And if not, thats okay too, why do you think I keep it "low"? Cuz I am not on same note with everyone either.

Good afternoon listeners,

I know it has been a minute.

I had a one month writers block, at least that is natural as compared to a possible writers's strike.

And it is unfortunate that one particular TV host had to announce during the previous writer's strike that this individual did not have any words on their teleprompter.

And it causes me to think, why could this host not write their own material? were they not permitted to? or did they lack the ideas to put on paper?

Food for thought folks, food for thought.

Anyway, on this episode I just update you a little on where this podcast is going, and jazz out for you a little.

And That's All Folks!

Good day to all,

Hope everyone doing well.

Here is an archived episode I had not published, as I was reading my lousy handwriting at times, and in my opinion, did not sound professional. However, if you can tolerate the 3 minutes or so of my stuttering (peppered throughout the episode), the majority of the time there is continuity and flow.

I will make a better effort to write my legibly so that my dialogue is smoother to your ears.

Hello Folks,

In this episode, we explore how there are some good changes with technology and we cover the following here:

1) Comedy-with the advent of the internet and social media platforms, a comic no longer needs to pound the open mics and worm their way into an oversaturated scene.

2) Publishing: An aspiring author no longer needs to win the approval of a publishing house, one can self publish now.

3) Single parenting. In the past Parents without partners was the go to place if you were divorced or widowed and had  children.

Now today with meetup.com,  match.com, e-harmony, facebook, reddit, etc. The options are easier to meet new people from your own living room.

Hello everyoe,

This was intended to be another episode in the Open Mic Blog Series.

However, I did not make it to the open mic last night, as there were delays on the train and so I got off and went to my local pub to spend whatever money I had on me.

My observations in the bar are what I am going to talk about, just how people can all be engaged in a conversation at an event or room and a person can be all alone and its like being invisible. Perhaps I should embrace this invisibility rather than feel angry about it and use it to my advantage, much like a scientist studying behavior on other planets.   Except only one problem here, I live on this planet !  LOL   Hello? is there anyone to talk to ?

In no way to I glorify these cases and I wish these crimes never happened. Nevertheless, they do and we continue to have these situations, so I am having a conversation about some of factors, and impact upon others as well as who is to blame. I do not go too deep into detail as it is a very complicated issue.

Anyway, I hope you all make the most of your day.

Thank you for listening.

Good evening all,

Thank you for tuning in, as I share my 6th day of not embibing in alcoholic beverages. My reason being that my body can not currently metabolize it, it is just causing me to become more bloated, tired, and out of shape.

In trying to regain my youthful physique, I find that the old ways of losing weight no longer work, the Superman days of fasting all day and then having a liquid dinner  and staying at a slim weight are over. And so I share my journey on how I take the baby steps.

Best regards

Steve

Good morning listeners,

In today's episode we discuss a movie recently seen on U Tube called "The Beach" In this movie, a young Leanardo DiCaprio plays a 20 something American with a zest for adventure who heads out to Thailand and is first seen in Bangcock walking around the city and staying in a local boarding house or hotel, whatever it is.

He learns of this exotic enchanged beach with white sands and clear water that nobody knows about and is supposed to be kept a secret, and he decides that he is going to venture out to see this place.

And that is what the movie is about.

Thanks for listening.

Good afternoon listeners,

In today's episode, we talk about the Darrell Brooks trial.  Mr.Brooks is facing several homicide charges for allegedly mowing down several people at a parade in Wakashua, Wisconsin resulting in 6 deaths and several injuries.

He has chosen to represent himself, in addition, we draw a comparison to some similiarities between Mr.Brook's self defense, and that of Colin Ferguson, the convicted Long Island Railroad Massacre shooter, during Mr.Ferguson's trial in 1995 when he represented himself.

Thank you all for listening.

Good evening all,

As we approach the midnight hour, I am burning the podcast oil.

Harping on a favorite pet peeve of mine...................the people on the road, or as  I call them "The People of the Earth" who want to go faster, and want you to get out of their way or speed up, so you can all flip over your cars and collide together.

I have been on both sides, at my leisure driving with people of earth in a rush to go to work or do their jobs, and I have been on the job or going to work having the people of the earth up my ass so they can go shopping or to the beach.

There is nothing I can do to change them, but I am allowed to rant, its one of my ammendment rights (First ammendment?)yes I believe so. I cannot gesture to them out the window because many of these alpha males and females also believe in 2nd ammendment rights and pack heat.  Did you read about the two Florida fathers engaged in road rage recently who shot each others daughters through car windows? thank God both girls survived.

Crazy Crazy world that we live in, and I think that it just keeps getting crazy.

Thank you all for lending me your ear for a little while.

Best wishes

Steve

Good evening all!

In this episode I unveil or reveal, admit to, concede, acknowledge, my own egotism and how......if unchecked and unfiltered, can actually cause me more harm than good.

True, one must have confidence in one self and believe in one self, but that must be combined with humility, patience, perserverance, and limited expectations of how others will receive you.

As a wanna be stand up comedian, I am guilty of being jealous of other comics who get real stage time or just are acknowledged in general.

And I discuss this here, as part of my healing process and moving forward in my spiritual journey.

Thank you all for listening!

Steve

Good evening listeners,

First off, wanted to tell you all that I am expermenting here with lengthening the time of my episodes to 20 minutes. The platform actually allows me up to 30 minutes for solo episodes (more for episodes when I have guests) but I will start with 20 minutes, just to see how folks respond.

I also go off on a little mini rant today as I just got fired from my job as an Uber eats driver, so I discuss why I think that happened and I tell you a little bit about the business for those who would like to know or those who can relate to being a driver.

And that's about it for now folks.

Best wishes to all of you, keep living the best life that you can lead, and be kind to others.

Good morning all,

Happy Holiday to those in USA and greetings to al my global friends.

This is just an update, a few months back I had mentioned that I was going to start an open mic audio blog chornicling my experiences as a comedy open micer.

Well, its been a few months and my procrastinating  "guy on the couch"" self has not attended one open mic.

But I still continue to prep and organize, I have a list of local open mics and I keep them updated with the most recent active ones as well as e mail contact for the hosts ("call before you haul"-quoted from Badslava.com)

In addition, I also keep written comedy material with the date that I wrote it, and I try to write my ideas down nice and slow, as I learned that if I jot down comedy ideas quickly and in brief sentences, I never understand the humor when I look back, so I try to write my sets slowly now, and emphasize punchlines. It is all much akin to eating, if you eat slow you will digest your food. If you eat quick, all kinds of problems will ensue.

Thank you all.

Be well and safe.

The Doors were a phase in my life, for about 3 years culminating in some of The Doors posthumous (Jim Morrison) releases including: The Doors album which came out without Morrison, and the song released late 1983 or early 1984 "Gloria" sung by Morrison.

Nevertheless, in this episode we review some of Morrison's lyrics from a few songs  and discuss how memorable they are.

Thank you for tuning in.

Good morning all,

In this episode, we talk about comedians, how, in my opinion, the subjects that comics talk about are often areas that cause the comedian a great deal of stress and unhappiness, so talking about it is therapautic to the comic. However in order to get laughs, the comic must put a humorous twist on the story, whether that be bending the story a bit, exaggerating, or creating a good punch line. It must be first relateable to the audience, and second it must tickle their spirits, so that it compells them to laugh.

I am sticking to my lap top computer now for episode production, I tried using my smart phone and I had no sound whatsoever.

Time for a new phone soon!

Thanks for listening.

Good evening listeners, Well today I discuss  in this episode my impressions after seeing a Lifestime Special on U Tube dated Jan 2021 which showed Wendy Williams and takes us into a glimpse of her life. Most of us have heard of her, she is a well known earned name, like she said in the video, she wanted to be #1, and so she can be viewed as that, a trend setter, pioneer with many mimicks and knock offs now. Let us explore what I have learned from this video, or check out the U tube video yourself! As always. Thank you.

Good morning all,

Yes, I am getting back into writing.

Before this whole comedy obsession and now podcasting, my main goal was to become a published author.

And by my own lack of action, I am not yet I am getting back to the basics of writing but not for the audience but merely for the excercise and discipline of it. Fo writing is a conduit and not as obvious as a camera or video.

I hope to infuse my new an improved writing with my more verbal and video type performances.

BFF's a term that has been around for a little while now, I am not sure exactly when it began, but I recently became aware of it a few years ago.

Personally, I do not know it myself, I had a friend who acted like we were going to be "BFF's"  when we met in 2nd grade, but by the time 3rd grade rolled around, he had completely discarded me.

What are your experiences? do you have a BFF? or friends from childhood until today? or are you a loner? or somewhere in the middle.

Here is my story, or at least part of it, on experiences that I remember growing up as a child, and how I still remember vivid details that most folks my age have long forgotten. I hope that by talking about it, I can move on, stop grinding an axe and living in the past and become a happier more well developed person with  healthy acquaintenships.  That is a good term, "acquaintance" ideally that is what one should aspire for initially in socialization, for that can develop into a good friendship, or it can stay the way it is, but at least being "acquainted" with others is better than being disconnected.

Hey folks, thanks for listening, and have a great day!

Good morning listeners,

Ahaaaa, I caught some of you, that word "comedy" is a catchy phrase, that's why some of you out in cyberspace surfing the web found this episode, looking for some laughs......eh????

Well, sorry, I have no immediate laughs up my sleeve at the moment. But I am working on it, bear with me please.

The purpose of this episode is to launch my comedy open mic blog series. As I plan to return to the much dreaded dungeon's of comedy work out for aspiring comedians (much akin to the casting calls and auditions for actors and actresses)

But anyway, it is a necessary evil, in order to build my stage persona and get good at comedy, I gotta go back to square one, but this time, I plan to take you all along on the journey, by talking about it with you, sharing my experiences, both before and after the mics.

It is therapautic for me as it gives me the inspiration and motivation to keep going, and it may be entertaining and educational for you.

Anyway, thats all for now folks, thanks for listening.

Talk to you soon.

Good evening listeners,

I hope all is well this today, hope everyone is staying well hydrated and cool is this global heat wave.

In this episode, I talk about the crappy treatment received as a life long renter, how basically you are treated in a way that a property owner is never treated, and how the term "homeowner is used with reverence and adoration, for example, when I was applying to rent the second floor of a house, the broker who I was paying treated me like dirt yet put the property owner on a pedestal. "let me ask the homeowner, I do not know if the homeowner will like you having cats, don't be late, we don't want to keep people waiting, don't say you are waiting or your tax return to pay the deposit, then homeowner will think that you can't pay the rent"  its like I did not count to this real estate agent because he was only making 1,000 commission off of me, where as he could be making a 6,000 commission or more off a house sale from someone who is borrowing to pay him that commission anyway. Yet I am seen as a peasant to talk down to.

More stories I could tell, perhaps on other episodes, if you wish.

Thank you for listening.

Just wanted to give you a little update here on the direcdtion of this podcast.

Right now, it is on a "limited Sat/Sun and Holiday Schedule"  Now what does that mean?  will I only be broadcasting on weekends and holidays?

No, not at all, what it means, is that for the most part I will only be producing sporadic solo episodes about once a week, maybe once a month until around March 2023, when I will have the tools necessary to start brining guests on the show and then really burning up the air waves.

So hang in there listeners, I have not jumped ship, this is more  like a sabbatical, or a siesta, for now.

Good evening listeners.

This episode is a spur of the moment sort of thing, as I had someone from my past reach out for me today, and it kinda blew my mind. I am on the fence as to whether to respond to this old friend from childhood or remain in my comfort zone of anonymonity, which although very lonely at times, is apparently what I know and what I am comfortable with.

If you ever saw the movie "Moscow on the Hudson" Robin William's character talks about how he misses being in the Soviet Union because although he was miserable there, he was comfortable in his misery.

Anyway folks, thank you for listening.

Good Afternoon listeners,

Today is 6/27/22. Thank you for tuning in! Make sure you give Anchor FM a try! it is a great platform to start your own podcast.

In today's episode, I talk about the agressive impatient selfish drivers on the road, of whom I coined "The people of the earth" although they really not are people, yet I cannot call them "animals" either as animals in general are kinder, wiser, simpler, more peaceful creature. So therefore the people of the earth are warped beasts so self involved and never learned how to play with toys and share at the age of 2, that they wreak their havoc upon the law abiding drivers on the road who drive cautiously. And law enforcement allows this, and only comes after drivers for minute offenses when it is time to meet their quota.

Thank God I have this platform, otherwise I would engage in hand gestures to the beasts on the road which would make me a shooting victim, as a  lot of these "roiders" pack weapons now too.

Happy Monday folks, thanks for letting me vent, hope you enjoy the rest of your day.

Good morning listeners,

Today we had the pleasure of having Dan Chodorkoff, PhD in Cultural Anthropology, and the co-founder of the ISE (Institute for Social Ecology).

Dan is originally from New York City, and relocated to Vermont in 1967.

In addition to being a Professor, he is also a published author of two books:  "Loisada"   and "Sugaring Down" (his most recent work).

I really enjoyed talking to Dan, as he is very passionate about making the world a better place, and he has not given up hope on that, and he also took me back to an era (the late 60's) when I was too young to know what was going on.

I hope that you will lend you ears to this dialogue, and as always, thank you all for listening.

Good evening listeners,

In this  evening's episode, we discuss the term "bullet" as it applies to stand up comedy.

And what it is..........is basically the word simple, or simple premise, or just a premise.

Whatever, it is a one line set up, to which is to be followed  up by what is called the "punch line"

When I was a telemarketer decades ago, I remember some prospects (usually older men), interrupt my "canned script" to  say to me."yeah, so what is the punchline"?  meaning, cut through all the  B.S. and just give me the bottom line.

And so I say, practice makes perfect, in little steps if being a comedian is what you aspire to achieve.

Regardless I say,

Thank  you for listening.

Good evening listeners,

Happy Sunday to you all!

I hope that you all had a wonderful weekend.

In this episode, we discuss  how it is to socialize  with strangers and meet new people, whether it be a romantic interest, a one night stand, or just making friends.

For  women, it is very tough, as they are often a target for agressive guys who do not take "no" for an answer, and thus ruin it for the nice  guys. Women have to be on their guard and travel in packs.

For guys the same, they travel in packs too, "wing men" and guys pumping  each other up for confidence.

So for a guy, who is alone, and does not feel that he is "Don  Suave", life  can be  very lonely. That guy has to grow callouses and learn to accpt rejection, he has to build himself up because nobody else  will, guys do not want to be his friend and  women are all guarded  against him.

But hey, I am just saying..............that is my perspective from my experiences.

Let's talk about it, lets have a discussion, share your viewpoints and experiences with me. Be a guest on the show,

Send me an e mail at Stevekay06@outlook.com.

Good afternoon listeners,

In today's episode, I briefly review a book that I had read back in 1980 by Lou Cameron called "The Subway Stalker" it was about a character named "The Ferret" who  walked through the tunnels from New Jersey to Manhattan to commit murders, then return to his normal life in Hoboken as the owner of a Hardware Store.

In the book, there is a prostitute who gets interviewed by the police  often, as a witness, her name was "Twin City Kitty" I talk about how I became obsessed with the name "Twin City Kitty" and how that name took on a whole  new meaning for me, and I even coined a term, in my mind called "Twin City Kittyism"

Anyway, hope you all enjoy. And have a wonderful Friday evening.

In this episode, we analyze the relationship between Gunnery Sgt Hartmann and Gomer Pyle (Leanord Lawrance) in "Full Metal Jacket"

As you recall, the Drill Sgt. came down very hard on Gomer Pyle during boot camp, however in retrospect, it seems that the Sgt saw potential in Gomer Pyle, that is why he rode him so hard.  Unfortunately, all of that backfired on Gunnery Sgt. Hartmann and there was the tragic result, which we will discuss.

However, I question the motives of someone who is already rich and running for office. Why do they need this? why can't they be happy with their already rich life? what do they hope to achieve? is it for the common good? or is it to make themselves even more richer and powerful?

In this episode we talk about reciprocity. It  sounds as though I am stomping on sour grapes  in the beginning, lamenting on how  I do this and do  that  for  others. But  you will see, that I am just trying to correct myself on my slanted thinking, as to truly be a giving person, one must  not expect  reciprocity for their  actions.

I  still need to remind myself on a daily basis to let go of expectations of others, to wipe the slate  clean and let go of  angry thoughts, as these  thoughts are toxic, and only hurt oneself.

So true spoken a word to me by a friend, who helped to clarify things and put them into light for me.

As a youngster, and unlike many of my peers, I was fascinated and intrigued by walkie talkies, I found it magical, mystical that I could push a button to talk on a tiny hand held box and talk to someone around the block. And when I found out I could hear truckers on the radio I was dying to talk back to them, but they could not hear me, they had real "juice boxes" I was a small 5 Watt hand held  box.

Radio is still magic to  me, no visual candy or  disractions, no rejection, no exclusivity, and free for all, to do their thing, and make their mark, on the world that is listening.

In this episode, we discuss how memory is very instrumental, for  example, stand up comedy: At least 50% of the battle towards success involves memorizing your set. The other 25-50% involves sanding and finessing your material so that it does not sound like you are reading a script.

Build your memory, work that muscle, in any way you can, pictures, codes, symbols, whatever, your memory is your mental weapon.

I also  talk about bicycles, how I am starting to ride again recently and how it is rejuvenating me and bringing me back to the innocence, and curiousity of my youth.

Good morning listeners,

In this episode, I mention that I am an "idea man", I am always writing down ideas as they come to me in spurts, whether through sober clarity, or in a booze and weed induced fueled spiral, its all the same as it is all part of some sort of human cycle of indulgence vs abstinence.

Getting back on track here, I am starting to think about diving into some topics that are worthy of discussion and will require me to use my brains and do more  research and open up my mind and ears, but here they are for starters:

Lets talk about Criminal Justice, I am a crime buff, I follow all  crime or as much as I can learn about and I  speculate and obsess on it.

Lets talk about gun control, I do not know a lot but I am willing to learn.

Lets talk about the economy

And lets talk about politics

Now.................how's that for starters folks?  keep on grinding, keep those creative thoughts going, harness   them and nurture them when the sprouts show  their litttle heads through the soil, form your own green house of thought.

Thank you all for listening.

Have a great morning.

Hello  All,

In this episode I talk about how I have seen change in my several decades on this earth, since the mid 70's when I was a child. Back then everyone jumped on the Citizens  Band Radio and you could talk to anyone, and people drove station wagons, a family friendly car.

Today people drive monsterous SUV's  (Sport Utility Vehicle) yet there is no "utility" in the vehicle other than the driver, who is in a heated conversation on their cell phone while they try to "push" the person in front of them to drive at their desired agressive speed.

Is technology making us better as a human race? maybe in some regards, but actually it is making people more  self centered, cliquesh, and oblivious to others voices.

As always, thank you, for lending me your ears, or ear.

Have a great day. Take Care.

I am not much of a dog person. I am an animal lover, though and would never harm an animal.

Just wanted to write my thoughts on dogs as pets, more directed towards the pet owners themselves actually, how I feel that they are getting a little bit carried away taking their dogs with them everywhere, and how I am getting tired of stepping off the sidewalk to make way for  dog walkers.

Plus my feelings that dog ownership is a sign of class status, at least where I lived most of my life, as renters often are at the mercy of the landLORD as to whether  or not they are allowed  to own a dog.

In this episode, I talk about a facebook friend who  puts out these postings  which induce thought and interaction amongst others thus  creating a forum. I find this to help me in learning social interaction, as I never really knew how to socialize  effictevely, I was awkward, sheepish at times, over modulating at times, and just, well to put it fair............too out there for  other people.

What I also  like about his forum is that he replies to every comment, or as many as he can, too  many folks  out there  on social media posting stuff and not  interacting with others, almost  like  they are the almighty or something and should only be heard and not spoken to.

Anyway folks, enjoy the rest of your day.

Take care.

Thanks

Good evening all,

On this  cloudy,  dreary, adamsesque Friday night, I  run down for you a few quotable and revered lines from well  known movies of our time. I talk about how I have weaved them together to create a collage  of some sorts, and how I used to take it to  the physical extremes which caused damage to property, as well as  my body when falliing.

Thank you for sharing this little trip down memory lane  with me, as I warm myself up, to encore with a more toned down, acceptable form of meme's.

Oh Hey Sorry

Almost  left you guys without my little written dialogue here.

So.............in today's episosde we talk about Eminem, 313 scene at end of the movie 8 mile, how it impacted me I make fun off enimem a bit but also remind everyone that this is comedy, a comic has right to say things that might be offensive and not have to risk getting punched in the face.

Free speech, free expression of art, pass the keg, pass the joint.

Talk to you all soon.

Thanks.

In today's episode  we talk about the musical era of 1990-2020, my favorite in terms of hip hop and  Rap. And a particular station which plays that format, and I give a shout  out to that station,, no disrespect intended.

I hum a song or two, and then we keep the good vibes going, until the next  broadcast, whenever...................................

Good evening listeners,

in this episode I talk about my mental illness which is OCD and anxiety. But I do not have the "clean type" I got the dirty, hoarder type, the type that cannot shower for days because  the tub is too dirty, I am like a reclusive skun who gives off odors because he wants to be alone to protect himself.

Stay tuned, and laugh at me, do not feel sorry for me, I do not.............just help me to laugh at me, and if you have a sense of humour, I shall laugh at you too.

Thanks  all.

Be well.

Good evening all,

Although I do not proclaim to be the most moral of all people, I do discuss my limited experiences with the education of morality and ethics and I mentioned an experience or two that I had in which I could not betray my own morality and thus did not reap a profit.

I also continue upon my journee'  to cleanse myself of toxic thought: harboring grudges, hurt, animosity, jealousy, rage, as it is nursing a wound and perpetuating it in a viscious unwinnable  cycle.

Be the better person, let it go, and move on.

Thank you all./

Be well.

PS: Must  continue to be committed towards professionalism, that is the root to success here.

Good  afternoon all!

In this episode we discuss purging ourselves of some of the deadliest 7 sins which include  many bad thoughts for the soul.

I try to redeem myself, in a way that rids me of self lamenting, angry, or angry at world, feeling left out, those thoughts are evil. A positive mover, an achiever, would have non of those thoughts.

A mover and a shaker, would continue to roll the dice, play the checkers, dress up, tighten up his bow tie, and keep on producing.

That is what a winner does, never give up folks.

Thanks for listening.

Good day folks!

Hope all are  getting through the week ok?

relax,  its Thursday, unless  of course you work  on weekends, then I understand your dread.

In this episode I talk about some of the side hustles I  did to help  make ends  meet, from Valet Parking, to working on call in a group home, and  eventually earning a Taxi  License (TLC), limousine driver license, and how Uber knocked out the taxi  business and my transition into Uber.

I do not  go into detail as much as I should  as I try to limit my episodes to  10 minutes in hopes of increasing listenership.

However I would like to continue on this series in other  episodes to   describe some of the part time gigs I  have  had throughout the decades.

Be well, stay dry, not too hot, not to chilly.

Thanks at least for reading the description! I appreciate you all! (or you one LOL)

A Belated Happy Mother's Day to you all too!

I had a few moments of privacy here, I do not like to record when another family member is present, so while this person was out, I took the few minutes I had to record a sloppily put together episode.

But in summary, here is what I talked about:

Monetization, flipping a profit

Hobnobbers and Schmoozers

"I am not a robot" to authenticate yourself on a website

Controversial Asian joke

Why I do not promote my solo episodes on social media.

Thanks for listening!

Enjoy your day or what is left of it!

Good  day to all,

In this episode, I continue to try to keep it under 10 minutes is my solo rule unless of course I have a guest.

Nevertheless I crack a few jokes, about begging for a smile and a hello, I mention a few episode ideas I am working on such as "unusual news" continuation, as well as "an interview with Steve Kay by Steve Kay". I also mention how, by my observations working the streets of NYC (no, not as a prostitute, but as a street musician and by selling comedy tickets in times Square) that people are self absorbed and have a limited attention span except for bright lights, free food, and $$$$$$$$$$.

Hey, thanks for listening!

Stay tuned! Keep the spirit up!

In comedy, the basic structure for  the effective delivery of a comedy set, is a formula they teach you in class:

Premise -Set Up-Punchline

OR

Set-Up  -  Set Up- Punchline

Either way, that is how to make your basic set, simple "bullets" one liners.  A  comic should have about 7 minutes of solid set that they have memorized, after they have conquered that, they can build  upon that to develop their own style.

As always, thank you for your ears, or ear.

After that we discuss Social  Media, how unfortunately it often replicates real life where you have the "cool and popular " people, and  the people who are on the sidelines.  Remember "Breakfast Club?" ?    "if you did not come to school they probably would  have to close the whole school down"

Good evening One

Good Evening All:

In today's episode we explore the pros of doing things solo, whether it be podcasting or just  making deliveries on your own, to the other side of coin which involves the presence and interaction or lack of  interaction with other individuals.  We harp on this subject for a good 5 minutes, and then we transcend the subject to a movie review  of  "Officer and a Gentleman".

I also am pledging, at least for the time being, or untold I am told by popular demand otherwise, to keep these episodes around 10 mins or under in hopes of gaining some listeners. I know for a fact that I myself are reluctant to listen to other lengthy podcasts, therefore why would I except some random stranger to donate their time to 45 minuts of  me rambling on?

Now of course, with guests on, that  is a different story and I explain why this is.

Thanks all for your 5 minutes, or 2 mins, as the pandhandlers always say "1 penny helps"  Well I attest the  same query to  you, "One minute of your time listening to my episode is better than no minutes, and so I thank you for that minute"

Hello all,

In this episode, I continue to develop my "sea legs" getting back into the vast ocean of podcasting, with my talk and my jokes, I am exploring and finding my voice and I really believe the solo thing is going to work, being with yourself and building yourself is of no comparison to relying upon the validation of others.

Thank you all, for allowing me to have my voice, and this glorious platform upon which to spew my thoughts (not venom LOL) maybe Vile, okay, just joking.

Adios

Good morning to all,

Sorry, I have not published or created in a while. I guess it was a time of reflection for me, what do I want to do?

So I decided that I just want to create solo episodes, I will not be aggressively seeking guests on the show for the time being, just do me, you know, find my voice, and hopefully some of what i say may resonate with you.

I plan to just chew the rag here and practice some comedy sets I have been writing up.

Thanks for llistening!

In this  episode, we  explore Noah's family background, rooting back to Poland, how  his parents  met, and how his father influenced him and shaped  him to be man that he is today.  Although Noah's father  is no longer  here  in  bodily existence, his spirit lives on in Noah, you can see it  in his practicality, measurement of  actions, prioritzations of  importan matters, but yet  he still carves out  that  time in his life for laughter, expression of creativity, and connnecting with other earthlings, or non earthlings as well.

Enjoy, please  share  your  thoughts, and  pass  the word on about  DinoDad.

Today we had Noah, AKA DinoDad  back on the  show.  Was a new  experience  as  the interview started  out with this  DinoDad fellow, who  does not  take any crap from anyone, but he is a likeable funny guy, just a little rough  around the edges and not  letting  anyone mess with  Noah.

But I also  got to talk to  Noah, what a  great guy, on  the cusp of  some new, creative, ingenuitive  moves in the  comedy art scene.

We got cut off  due to  internet issues in The Hotel California, but  we  kept  it  moving, tune  in to  part  2 next.

Good afternoon listeners, as promised, the much anticipated part 2 to interview with Mr.Anthony Sessions, AKA Mad Bus Driver Part 2.

We just picked off  where we had left off when we got  cut off on first episode, we did not sweat it, because we were having fun.

As we discussed  in our dialogue, "It's all about the journey" having fun, enjoying what you are doing, appreciating everyone we speak to, whether they be a big shot or a hidden gem.

I learned that Anthony is one of  those who have a "committee"  in their head, I thought I was the only one, it was nice to know  that there are  others out there. He has a very patient wife  as well, she is aware  of all the charactes  swimming around  in Anthony's head.

Hope you all enjoy, this part is about 55 minutes long, we will have to figure out some sort  of a prize for those who listen to the whole episode and  then give us a report  on all the details.

Thank you all!

Good afternoon listeners,

This evening I had the pleasure of speaking with a very  personable young man, Anthony Sessions of  Washington State, a survivor of  over two decades as a public bus driver. Anthony deals with the public every day, and he chooses  to see things in a humorous light, his daily travails  working with the public. He has  forged some very nice friendships with his passengers, and is now building up momentum on his second career, which is stand up comedy. He is a comedic force to be reckoned with.

I sincerely enjoyed talking to Anthony, he brought me back in "the game" of interviewing people as I had stopped over the holidays.

We had gotten cut off due to my lovely internet, so please do not be disheartened, just tune into  part 11 which follows this segment.

Good Afternoon listeners,

Today we explore some of the music of Bill Conti, best known for his composition of the Rocky Soundtrack.

But Bill has other movies in which he has produced the soundtrack, and  today we will explore two that I am aware of:

Gloria (1980 starring Gena Rowlands and David Adames)  and

Bad Boys (1983  starring Sean Penn and Esai Morales)

In both pieces you can hear a similiar symphonic type arrangement which makes it rather unmistakable that the same artist has composed both pieces (much like the trademark sound of Louis Armstrong on the trumpet)

As always, thank you for listening, and enjoy your afternoon!

I do cover some movies that are long forgotten or maybe never even known, such as made for TV movies or HBO Movies.

The two movies and songs that I cover today are:  Uncle Joe Shannon starring Burt Young, and The Jericho Mile, starring Peter Strauss.

Both of these movies came out in the 1970's.

In this particular episode, I talk about how I became fascinated with radio at about 1 years old give or take.

And about how my interest in radio as a listener, and a participant transcended through CB Radio and eventually into amateur radio  as well as scanners.  This fascination in talking on a radio brought me to my current endeavor as a podcaster.

I further elaborate on my most influential radio show host, the late Phil Schaap of WKCR 89.9fm, and about the depth of hearing a voice as opposed to flashy images.

I play one song from Mel Torme called "That's All'  and in conclusion I would like to say,  "That's all Folks."

Hey Folks,

Just lamenting here, on my idea of  the way things  should be in society, on how  people should  behave and respond when someone  else needs help. I  recall having a teacher back in HS who  used to write on the blackboard  "Real" or "Ideal"?   Meaning, we all have  ideals on the way things should go smoothly, and then we have reality.  He  also used to put a big dollar sign on the blackboard and say "Is this this what  it all  about? yes? no?  maybe..................hey, I don't know the answer"

But now several decades later I see what  he was talking about, the almighty dollar sign, billing, profit, that is what it is all about, get that deposit or fee from your customers, then dump them, ignore them and focus and drawing new clients or suckers.

And that permeates into various forms of business but today I am focusing on healthcare, being a caretaker  for a person with mental illness, I go through a  personal hell and a lack of  response, callousness, BS from "trained professionals"

Let's get into it.

Thanks for listening.

Good afternoon listeners,

Today I was discussing "platforms"  As I recently attended a comedy open mic in my neighborhood, and came to realize that I do not need to do comedy as much as I used to, because I now have other platforms to get my voice out there.

In the past, all I had was comedy as a platform and to be honest, often I felt like I was limited and not heard, kinda like a circus act kept in the back in a cage while all the other stars of the show were in the limelight, only to be given bread crumbs on stage.

And with that being said, just wanted to say I  am happy to have these social media platforms, and I thank you for taking the time to listen.  For me, its not about the money, its about being heard. If the money should follow....................well hey, I am not going to refuse it LOL, but i do not count on it, I am a hustler, always trying to find a legitimate reasonable way to make a buck.

Enjoy your afternoon and evening.

Best Wishes

Steve

Good  afternoon listeners,

Just had very interesting and deep interview with Mr.Justin Careesi, a comic and a musician who is currently residing in California and is orginally from the east coast.

We touched on a lot of  subjects including comedy, music, politics, health, spirtiuality. But what we talked about a lot was  human behavior, which unfortunately, we cannot change the behavior of  others, but we do have control over ourselves.

A lot of what Justin told me enlightened me, as I am not  from the area that he is currently living and I am appreciative of his candor.

I hope that you will enjoy the interview, and I hope that you will look him up, follow and befriend him on social media, and above all, support your up and coming artists, as that is what this whole series is about.

In part 2 we picked up where we left off. We talked about live comedy vs. virtual comedy. How at this time it seems to be hybrid, some folks doing live, some folks doing virtual. And we get to hear  Ashley's contagious laugh, which would make any struggling comic's night a relief.

We digressed a bit and talked about schools and violence and the Oklahama City bombing, Ashley knows her history very well, very smart person in my opinion.

And "that's all she wrote"

Thanks again for lending us your ears, they  mean more to me than you will ever know.

Tune in again soon, we have some more guests lined up this week, I look forward to many more conversations and dialogues here.

Good evening listeners,

In part one of this interview, we meet Ashley, a California comic, artist, and education professional. Very polite and easy to converse with young woman.  We had some internet sluggishness so please bear with a few moments of silence here and there. Eventually we got cut off at the end so we started a part 11. But we picked right up where we had left, talking about Boston, Mass, the history there and how Ashley would like to visit there one day.

Please enjoy and check out part 11 at your leisure.

And as always, thank you for "tuning in"

"stay- tuned boppers, stay tuned"

Good evening listeners,

In today's solo episode, I announce to you all that I am launching a new zoom comedy open mic. It will be  called "The  Social Hermits" Open Mic. and I am hoping to do it this coming Sunday 12/12/21 at 9pm EST.  Still trying to iron out some technical issues including fact that Zoom only gives us 40 minutes to run a meeting. So I might start off with a small amount of comics and eventually break the mics into two sessions so that we can get more comics on board.

In today's episode I spun a few songs for you, the blue tooth was not working so I just did my best for amplification. I played Peter King "Ajo",  William Onyabear "You looook sooooooo gooooood.....fantastic man"  and DJ Format  "The Turning Point"

On a final note, we have a few guests coming on the show, comics and a film-maker/actor.

Stay tuned and thanks for listening!

Every once in a while, you meet someone who knew at a very young age what they wanted to do for a career. Andrew is one of them, check out his U Tube Channel(Andrewfilms22)

This gentleman has been producing films since he was in High School, some are comedies, some serious, some are tributes, or an analysis of a scene from a TV show.  But it all boils down to creativity, which is quite apparent in Mr.Maresca's dedicated work.

I hope you will enjoy listening to this episode and do not forget to check out his channel.

Keep  the arts alive, support your ascending artists (film makers, comedians, writers, actors, documentary makers, improvisers, etc.)  keep hope alive I am not going to say "hit the like button down below" or please subscribe, or see my merchandise (I have none).

All I ask is that you listen, and enjoy and check out the work of my guest.

Have great day folks!

Hello Again,

Just talking to myself, tried to keep it simple, kept it down to 7 minutes hoping that someone out there might listen. Or not, it really does not matter, I feel I have a few comedy sets now, just need to sculpt them  and I will be ready to try a virtual open mic, my very first!!!!!

Hi all!

Just getting back my stage chops, you know in order to face that audience, whether it be virtual or live, you gotta have some nerve, some fluidity and some verbal chops.  I am rusty, so I am practicing over here, on the platform.  No applause please, thank you for listening.

Hello.

Welcome to my wonderful, whacky, solo world of working out my jokes.

Some of these jokes are repeats from my other episode, however, like an open mic, I am sanding the material down, re arranging, orchestrating, sandblasting, and besides, who cares really anyway?

On a footnote, I just want you all to know I am spending a lot of time watching U Tube videos about people who are incarcerated in prison, and amongst many things, including Prison Politics, I am learning that while in solitary it is possible to get used to talking to yourself.

And truly, not really by choice, but rather by the high maintenance of other people of the earth, I have elected, to enter this alternate world, in which other human members need not be present.

Thank you all for listening.

Good evening listeners,

Today we had the divine honour  of a very lovely person on the show, Ms.Cat Brewer, who is an educator, story teller, advocate, and a fitness instructor.

Cat is a self made person, being an accomplished college professor, she has used much of her spare time to work on a documentary film called "Sign  The Show"(check out the trailer on Sign the Show.Com)   This is a film about hearing impaired people in USA who attend  live events and the services available to them so that they can enjoy what is being performed. It is a growing awareness for this service, and Cat became intrigued with the subject around 2013, her interest soon fueling her  to interview several performers, as well as hearing impaired persons.

Please enjoy, and put the word out about what she is doing, this subject needs more awareness, and a little backing by the industry gatekeepers to push it up the hill. But Cat is very resilient, she does not look down or behind, just keeps putting in the mileage.

Thank you all for listening.

Best wishes.

I really have to  thank Mr.Keith Brokenshire, an English Comic for joining us today. I  do this podcast to have  fun, sometimes like anything else I am not having fun and do not  want to do it anymore. Mr.Keith changed that for me today, he motivated me to come to my microphone and join him in dialogue, he was pleasant to talk to and made me feel better today.

And so I am hoping his humour will make you feel better as well. He has a U tube channel which he will announce or you can find him on facebook or  instagram.

If any of you listeners wish to hear the burping contest between Mr.Keith and I, please cast your votes, we still might do it anyway because freedom of speech=freedom of burp.

Amen.

Had a nice conversation with Jean-Pierre Giagnoli today, he is a man of many talents, which include:

Founder/Lead Detective/parapsychologist at Southern California Paranormal Detectives.

Actor, Rapper, Comedian, DJ, and writer.

Very down to earth, friendly person who was easy to talk to and very ambitous,  but not putting all of his eggs in one basket, so to speak.

Please enjoy, and share with anyone who may be interested.

Good evening listeners,

We had the honor of having Malik  Smith AKA Big Leak  kick back and talk with us this evening. Malik is a very determined, creative and ambitious young man. He does not sit and wait for an acting gig to come his way, he keeps it moving, always networking and finding ways to make ends meet. In addition, being a role model is important to him, he cares about how the adults of the future view him and are impressed upon by his roles that he plays.

Please enjoy, and look him up, he is a funny guy, and might be our next super hero on film!  Or perhaps he  might produce the  movie himself! One never knows.

Thank you all for listening. Please share and spread the word about Big Leak, we need more morally decent actors out there playing roles.

Good day LIsteners,

Today I start out with some sad news about the passing of Phil Schaap, longtime radio personality on WKCR 89.9fm of whom I was a great fan of, and whom I just learned passed away last month.

We cover some news stories as well that I found. And you may hear some background music, that I play for my cat, whom I believe is my grandmother reincarnated, and this was the type of music that you would hear when you visited my grandmother's house. So I am playing it all for her.

Good Afternoon Listeners,

Was just sharing some thoughts I had this afternoon, about how I got into this  podcasting thing, and how much I am enjoying it, and how it gives me   freedom of speech.

Also, I am thinking about posting some videos on my facebook page, I have done so under aliases, for the most part they were ignored unless I went live, which I might get back into in the near future.

Nevertheless, I seem to have a nice  little group of 250+ FB friends, so maybe some of them will at least view the videos.

But anyway, enough of the egotism and narcissism, you know why I am writing all this negative stuff?  its for shock value, I want to see how many people are actually reading this. Believe me, if I knew that folks were reading these an listening to my episodes, I would up my positivity quite a bit LOL

Hey folks, enjoy your Sunday, wherever you are and whatever you are doing, try to carve out a little time for yourselves..

Good day listeners,

Welcome to episode  1, on what I plan to make a wonderful musical  journey. Yes, there are many DJ's out there, weaving their own tapestry of musical samples for you to taste, I am nowhere as experienced as them not will I  stand out as anything special.

However, I do have this zest, this desire to  share music that I like, its like I just cannot keep it to myself, its an old term called "being turned on" to a song by a friend. I am bursting at the seams wanting to share my music, and got tired of sharing links to individuals who did not respond when I sent them songs, so I figured that they did not want to bothered.

So now there is a forum here, I am not annoying anyone, especially if nobody is listening LOL ("Is there anybody out there"?-Pink Floyd)  and I am going to have a lot of fun doing this.

Do enjoy if you tune in.

Thanks
