President of Reach My City- Evangelist Jonny Gaston Hits the mic hard, speaking about spirit led evangelism. Somethings to know about the holy spirit. He was involved in creation. 1. Genesis 1:1-2 In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth. The earth was formless and empty, and darkness covered the deep waters. And the Spirit of God was hovering over the surface of the waters. The moment you trust in Christ as your Lord and Savior you will receive the Holy Spirit. 2. 1 Corinthians 12:13 For by one Spirit are we all baptized into one body, whether we be Jews or Gentiles, whether we be bond or free; and have been all made to drink into one Spirit. 3. Ephesians 1:13-14 When you heard the message of truth, the gospel of your salvation, and when you believed in Him, you were also sealed with the promised Holy Spirit. He is the down payment of our inheritance, for the redemption of the possession, to the praise of His glory. The Helper 4. John 14:15-17 If you love me, keep my commandments. I will ask the Father to give you another Helper, to be with you always. He is the Spirit of truth, whom the world cannot receive, because it neither sees him nor recognizes him. But you recognize him, because he lives with you and will be in you. 5. John 14:26 But the Helper, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in my name, will teach you all things and remind you of everything that I have told you. 6. Romans 8:26 In the same way the Spirit also joins to help in our weakness, because we do not know what to pray for as we should, but the Spirit Himself intercedes for us with unspoken groanings. Gives wisdom 7. Isaiah 11:2 And the Spirit of the Lord shall rest upon him, the Spirit of wisdom and understanding, the Spirit of counsel and might, the Spirit of knowledge and the fear of the Lord. He gives us guidance. 9. Romans 8:14 For all who are led by God’s Spirit are God’s children. 10. Galatians 5:18 But if you are being led by the Spirit, you are not under the Law. He is living inside of believers. 11. 1 Corinthians 3:16-17 Do you not know that you are God’s temple and that God’s Spirit lives in you? If someone destroys God’s temple, God will destroy him. For God’s temple is holy, which is what you are. 12. 1 Corinthians 6:19 What? know ye not that your body is the temple of the Holy Ghost which is in you, which ye have of God, and ye are not your own? Scriptures that show that the Holy Spirit is God. 13. Acts 5:3-5 Peter asked, “Ananias, why has Satan filled your heart so that you should lie to the Holy Spirit and keep back some of the money you got for the land? As long as it remained unsold, wasn’t it your own? And after it was sold, wasn’t the money at your disposal? So how could you have thought of doing what you did? You didn’t lie only to men, but also to God!” When Ananias heard these words, he fell down and died. And great fear seized everyone who heard about it. 14. 2 Corinthians 3:17-18 Now the Lord is the Spirit, and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is freedom. We all, with unveiled faces, are looking as in a mirror at the glory of the Lord and are being transformed into the same image from glory to glory; this is from the Lord who is the Spirit. The Holy Spirit convicts the world. 15. John 16:7-11 But in fact, it is best for you that I go away, because if I don’t, the Advocate won’t come. If I do go away, then I will send him to you. And when he comes, he will convict the world of its sin, and of God’s righteousness, and of the coming judgment. The world’s sin is that it refuses to believe in me. Righteousness is available because I go to the Father, and you will see me no more. Judgment will come because the ruler of this world has already been judged. The Holy Spirit can be grieved. 16. Ephesians 4:30 And don’t grieve God’s Holy Spirit. You were sealed by Him for the day of redemption. "Tears 💦 in your voice"Billy Graham once said"Never let your ministry be bigger then the next person in front of you."I have kept that as a motto personally in vocational ministry as well as street evangelism. 👥 Every person matters, it's easy to fall into the temptation to want a big nice ministry where you preach or speak to hundreds of people at one time and make a huge impact... but 🗣speaking and investing ⏱time in just one person has possibly huge implications. 👉🏻 When I was witnessed to, the guy did not know I would end up preaching the gospel around the 🌎 world, He was just being obedient to the great commission. 📖🗣 When you witness to a person of course you want to share the gospel biblically, using the law 📖 to bring about the knowledge of sin. "Therefore by the deeds of the law there shall no flesh be justified in his sight: for by the law is the knowledge of sin." Rom 3:20 👀 There is also another fundamental principle that should be at work. People should see Jesus in you. Ask yourself while your witnessing; How am I making this person feel? We are Christ ambassador, they are experiencing Christ and hearing the gospel through us. We want to bring about seriousclear instruction that they have violated God's objective moral law, written on their ❤️ heart.But we also want them to sense Love and compassion. "If you can't cry tears, let them hear tears in your voice" 😢pleading with them to get right with God. 👆🏼🔑 One way to do that is to tell them your motives for reaching out is "not to win an argument" 🗣but out of love and concern which is key. "Consider my motives, I risk looking like a fool in your eyes." 👉🏻 If you feel that they are not being receptive 🔒 to the law. Try asking them "can I share my story with you?" That makes sharing the law easier as you tell them of sins you were convicted of and how you responded 🙇🏻 to the gospel.
