Colin speaks with Rick Rossi, LICSW, a clinical pastoral counselor and campus minister at BC, and the two discuss the phrase "all healing occurs in the context of relationships." Rick describes the work he does in campus min such as the various grief support groups he oversees, and his clinical work as a pastoral counselor. Liz Hauck is a BC grad, Convocation Speaker for the BC Class of 2026 and the author of Homemade: A Story of Grief, Groceries, Showing Up - and What We Make When We Make Dinner. We invited Liz on the podcast to help us understand how conversations regarding mental health at BC have shifted overtime. On this episode, we talk with Kyleigh Leddy, a former Boston College student and author, whose first book, The Perfect Other: A Memoir of My Sister,highlights her experience of growing up with a sister with a severe mental illness. Kyleigh speaks to the challenges of publicly sharing her vulnerabilities as well as the ways in which her sister's story impacted her while at BC and beyond. We hope that this conversation will continue to reduce stigma around severe mental illness and provide comfort for students at BC who are balancing their own mental health challenges, caregiving responsibilities, and loss.

Tucker, Kayla, and Franny, the Center's three graduate assistants, sit down together to talk about the new season and its focus on Community! We name and define the four key messages that the Center for Student Wellness uses to talk about 'Community' with students, and discuss what this shift means to them, what communities are important for their wellbeing, and, finally, how they hope the four key messages influence their work in the Center this year.

This season's music was written and produced by Nanayaw Appiah-Kubi AKA Nana AK, a Boston College alum! Nana has been making music since his time at BC, and makes up one-half of the music duo, ZeNith, with Zach Patterson, who is also an alum of BC.
