This may not be updated quite as often as our other podcasts, but from time to time I will be recording our Friday Bible studies (unless you guys are really interested in hearing more, than I will record more) and putting them up on here, unedited. So if there's questions or comments, be sure to send us a message on Anchor or Facebook and we will talk through them.
In our last chapter, we looked at the first murder in history (which didn’t even take place against an enemy but rather over jealousy and in the same blood related family). We saw the chances for Cain to continuously make the right choice, and his rejection to God’s providence and forgiveness, ultimately leading to his exile and his separation from God. We are then introduced to the salvation lineage of Seth, leaving us with hope for the future generations to come.
In this chapter, we will be reading a lot about the lineage of Adam. Honestly, that is pretty much all this chapter focuses on, so I am going to use this as an opportunity to define the names that are given so we have a clear idea and representation of this lineage coming out of Adam and Eve, and how it leads to the story of salvation through Jesus Christ.
In the last chapter, we spoke heavily on the fall of man, and the first sin ever taking place.
In this chapter we continue to see what life is like after the fall of man...
In our last chapter, we get a really great look at the rest of God (God's rest), a recap of the days of creation, and a look at the creation of man and woman. God was putting everything into perfect places, and everything was in harmony. Nothing was useless. Everything had life, and purpose. Man was one of the last creations of God in these six days, and it was His most precious of all creation. He knew the coming issues that would arise seemingly quickly, and so He's setting things up for that occassion.
In this chapter, we see the first issue of man come into the picture, which is the disobedience of God's command. It's the first sin ever committed, and it is what will be passed down through all the generations of the Earth. Of course, this doesn't throw God off, but it also doesn't make God happy. This will happen, though, ultimately to bring in the Savior!
We will not need to go about stating what happened last time because God actually does this for us in this chapter! Sometimes God does this throughout His Word. Actually, He does this quite often. He explains something simply and plainly, and then turns around and highlights the really important facts that you don’t want to miss. He does this with the law of Moses through the book of Deuteronomy, same with the prophets, and the life of David, and it even continues throughout the New Testament with the 4 gospel accounts.
I am not a scholar by any means (hence the name of this podcast) but I do enjoy reading through scripture and taking down notes to help us take our time and dig deeper into what we are reading.
In this episode, we are starting in the book of Genesis. The hopes and goals are to dive deep into this book of the Bible and encourage others to study it out and grow closer in their personal studies to the Lord. I will be uploading once a month until Genesis is over, and after that I will go into a new book. Hope this is helpful!
We continue through our study of Genesis with the life of Abram. We see in this chapter, Abram and Lot have made a great deal of wealth from Abrams deception. This sin will cause a split between the two, however, and they will be left with a difficult decision to make.

Today we start our study through the first chapter of Revelation. I know this book can be scary to some to go through and understand (because of the amount of symbolism and what-have-you) but it's not a book that we have to worry about going through. All scripture is given by the inspiration of God... so we need to take this with an open heart and mind, and use study notes and scholars notes to learn as much as we can about this amazing prophetic book!
In this Bible Study we go through 1 John 5 in it's entirety, and we learn about how important it is for us to have the right Spirit of God towards those of the faith, and how we are to treat others regardless of their background. We need to rejoice with those that rejoice and weep with those that weep.
We look through the whole chapter of 1 John 4 in this Bible study today on how we should test the spirits to see if they are genuinely God's, and how we should treat our family in Christ with love.

In today's lesson, we go through 1 Peter chapter 1, and I give some thoughts, and some easy Bible information about the time this was written and why!
