While experience in European competition often wins, which is what the gunner squad is carries, that can be in our favor if we apply ourselves aptly.
There wasn't much exciting highlights, but Arsenal showed grit to endure an overbearing Porto. Give the squad and missing players, I think we did well enough in terms of match up. I don't remember such domination that included goal-scoring heroes from both center-backs. It was a scoring party that was spectacular and unbelievable. Arsenal played with such dominance that looked deceiving - not in the element of surprise. But dismantling of game tactics.

Arsenal gave Liverpool and Jurgen Klopp a deserving send off when they visited the Emirates. This was a matchup that was overdue a good outcome for Arsenal. Even the stats backed up the narratives of the game. The attack while missing a key player in Jesus did not miss a beat. And a rewarding appearance for Jorginho to drive the team with top class technical quality. It was not an easy game despite the performances. The intangibles from the home crowd and mental resilience by the players played a huge factor in staying up in the game.

Arsenal stormed in their first premier league game of the year with a bang! They hosted Crystal Palace at the Emirates and it rained goals. It was an impressive win that represented the type of wins we had hoped for in previous matches. I was surprised in this game starting from the lineup change to set piece formation and goal heroes.
Given the freshness the team had benefited during their break, I was looking forward to the updated game style and strength in certain areas. Arsenal closed out 2023 calendar season with a miserable dud of a loss against Fulham. Hoping to bounce back from previous loss, the team had a poor outing. Lacking energy and fight, they could not keep their early lead in the game; neither could they maintain their defensive identity. Very hard to understand this funk and what could have triggered the counter game engagement.

Arsenal hit with slide of bad luck and misfortune at the Emirates. A game many expected to be a victory was anything but. Even with one missing starting player, this wasn't the Gunners day in terms of goal impacts. It seemed there was a funky aura that didn't allow the game to flow as it should have. It was an abundance of frustration - especially for the players who were worn down by the number of efforts to get on the score board; but were denied. VAR and more unfortunate moments like giving away penalty in the dying minutes killed the game for us.
While I had to give credit to a few, there were handful of Arsenal players worthy for the odd player. But I had to recognize the ones that were a bit above the rest. Arsenal went to Anfield. One of the toughest match up of the season. The game ended in a 1-1 draw which felt like a fair result for Arsenal than the home team. We were rewarded with a fast start but it unable to gain another scoring opportunity that had us closer to a second goal. Meanwhile Liverpool came back storming to score and would have easily won this game. We had luck on our side.
We can claim this as a Christmas gift as we continue to fight off the rest of the other good teams to claim the top spot. While I had my top 3, there were 4 contenders for the odd 1 in this game. Arsenal returned to winning form beating Brighton 2-nil. It was a total domination by Arsenal. A bit unfortunate the game score didn't represent the level of domination. It was a different level of play from the Gunners that took away Brighton's element - for the first half and most of the second. A complete attacking performance that would rep benefits when we go up against notable coached teams.

The final group match of the Champions League group stage was concluded with a 1-1 draw. While many were anticipating some appearances from any of the academy kids, the reality was not there to make everything align for them. Arsenal fielded most of the available fringe players mixed with the steady defensive starters and a competition debut for Ramsdale. Given the lack of chemistry between the fringe players, it showed in the game as it took a while to grow and gain momentum. So much disjointed flow going forward while enduring most of the game's minutes defending and absorbing PSV's pressure.
I expected a bit more flashes from other player who had some recent game rotations. Yet they did not make it to my top 3 performance - including my odd 1. Nevertheless the team should be proud in their achievement so far with a game to spare. This was a game with less pressure and minimal complains. So listen and enjoy. Well done boys! Up the Arsenal!
Arsenal's big match up against Aston Villa ended in a 1-nil defeat. Besides a couple of bad VAR calls, Arsenal had the rest of the game's outcome to their own fate. They had less of their attacking prowess throughout the game. Despite earnest attempts, Arsenal couldn't convert the scoring opportunities missing crucial open chances to possible victory. The frustration built on even as we had the dominating advantage to score increase. Yet the struggles lingered. Aston Vila had a bit of luck keep them as the winner but the blame was with Arsenal's performances.

We got another last minute thriller win against Luton Town with the exact same final score as Bournemouth last season. Arsenal almost suffered an unexpected shock in the match against Luton. We were plagued by uncharacteristic mistakes and physical challenged to knock us off our rhythm. In some fashion, it worked but not the way most would see it. As the saying goes winning cures all. But it still shocking on VAR calls and absurd booking - for celebration!

Arsenal beat Wolves at the Emirates. But it was a weird one. Match commentary, stats and field tilt would have one wonder why the final score looked like we an upset was within minutes of the final whistle. Certainly it looked like that was a bit of the summary overshadowing how brilliant Arsenal were throughout the game.

Champions League Matchday 5 was all Arsenal. While there were different shades of drama in different matchup games, Arsenal has the most game worthy in highlights and special mention. It was a revenge-statement game - at the Emirates. Lens were demolished with a few more goals left on the pitch. This game was especially a delight because Kai was man-of-the-match like with his goal, pre-assists and impact. So much of his intelligence broke out in addition to the attacking brilliance of Jesus, Saka & Martinelli.

First game back from the International break - thanksgiving weekend. Arsenal visited Brentford. A team we have come to fully understand is difficult to breakdown. It was a late victory for the gunners. One that the team completely appreciates given how close or unlucky Brentford were to not have been 2 goals up in the game. The most notable chance for them from Ramsdale's error could have seen us lose the game. Thankfully, some individual brilliance were alert to save us and provide a clean-sheet.

An entertaining home game against Sheffield United. Arsenal has a spectacular performance in their 5-0 victory. The gunners with a few startling line up changes still brought an excitement. Arsenal fans were delighted to witness Eddie Nketiah's show with this first-ever hat-trick display. We also enjoyed good performances from the other young talents - Saka, Martinelli & Smith Rowe. In another memorable event Tomiyasu netted his first goal in the Arsenal shirt. A lovely moment for him and for Vieira's penalty goal to celebrate his personal excitement. Arsenal remain dominant and control the game throughout. It was an excellent display of cohesion, great passing and intelligent positioning. The effects in the middle orchestrated the game dictating the attacking tempo and holding rock solid poise in defense.

Arsenal visted Sevilla at their ground. A deserving 2-1 victory but not with a lot of sweat and cringy situations. The brilliance of the first half was from our 2 Gabi's. That followed on in the second. But wasn't all told because Sevilla come back fighting and the home crowd pushed them on. It was a good defensive display by Arsenal. The best comfort holding on to the lead was knowing we had arguably the best defensive duo standing firm.

Big 6 matchup. Coming back from International break, this was one of the most anticipated game in Matchweek 9. Arsenal were dealt with a tough battle against Chelsea. The main positive was coming away with a draw. It felt like one of less impressive outings for the team - especially, away. Most of our good games have been away. We ate humble pie with our sloppiness and lack of attacking prowess. One commendable element was the fight and belief the team had, which lead them to get a result.

Our biggest rival came to our house and this time we took care of business. Even without our Starboy, we managed to break the losing streak and voodoo of misfortunes against this City team. There wasn't much of Arsenal pretty plays until much later in the game. I doubt that was the emphasis. This chess match required high technical I.Q and awareness. We got lucky in a number of situations.
I picked out my top 3 players and struggled to decide the odd 1. This game, to me, was one where we got the best out of our impact players starting with Jorginho and Tomiyasu, creating the chain for the only goal in the game. It really mattered in this match and that gives more confidence to the squad - I think. Now more needs to be said about the lack of goal-threat and finishes within the box. I don't expect that to go away until the numbers and effects turn in the right direction. For now, this win is in the history books and will carry the team forward. Arsenal faced their first loss of the season to Lens. A physical battle in this game till the end. The game started looking like we got control of it until a second of an event turned it on it's head. The gunners were able to endure much of the pressure and duels until fatigue and a bit of out-of-sync got to the team.
While this team are no strangers to chasing a lead, the physicality and lack of offensive spark saw our chances much singular in approach. However, the spark did come with a number of subs that perhaps would have been needed much earlier. An away game at the Vitality Stadium against Bournemouth. Arsenal secured the victory in a combination of good plays, feel-good moment and an unreal atmosphere. Despite the lack of flashy plays, the Gunners were efficient and tight-nit in defending. The win was mainly attributed from tight margins of plays and effective out of possession play, which in turn gave Arsenal the opportunity to capitalize with great quality plays; creating a number of goal-scoring chances. Their discipline paid off as well as eliminating the momentum for Bournemouth to grab something meaningful

It has finally been broken. Arsenal's victory at Goodison Park, has lifted a painful burden we have carried for quite some time - 6 years to be exact. A welcome change in goal with Raya - Ramsdale is very much in the picture. While it may be described as the less pleasing game with the scoreboard, there's much to appreciate that ensure the one of the intangible factor in confidence was muted to a very decent controlled measure. Arsenal edge Nottingham Forest in thrilling opener. Playing at the Emirates, the Gunners got their Premier League season off to a winning start with a 2-1 victory over Nottingham Forest. Eddie Nketiah and Bukayo Saka scored the goals for the Gunners.
Arsenal dominated for most of the game, but had to deal with a late surge from Forest. The visitors pulled one back in the 83rd minute through Johnson, but Arsenal held on for the win.
Nketiah opened the scoring in the 13th minute with a close-range finish. Saka doubled Arsenal's lead in the 32nd minute with a stunning strike from outside the box.
Forest pulled one back through Awoniyi in the 82nd minute, but Arsenal held on for the win. It was a thrilling opener to the Premier League season. Although Arsenal left with game with a bigger worry with Jurrien Timber's injury.

It was very clear the Arsenal team had not gotten over their slump from the previous game loss, because it carried over to this match against Nottingham Forest. While we know the situation to our title chance was already concluded, it was not a reason to display such flat performance. Another disappointing outing by the players - heavily affected by the lack in depth at certain positions to resemble our attacking power. With such strong line-up albeit not all in natural positions, there was no energy to fight in this game. Certainly there is so much we will learn from these losses but the players should change the mood for these last games regardless of short-coming. On this pod I was very conscious not to pile on the bad mood and bitter feeling of loss. One more game to go. We deserve a win that is appreciative to the collective drive and success this season. A shocking and devastating loss that was more than just, at the Emirates. Brighton got an easy opening to take control and ultimately the fortunes of this game. No one would have expected this capitulation after seeing the first half performance. It only takes one event to change the script. Well there was more than one to consider. I wonder if there has been emphasis with raising our level of execution and decision-making in final shots scenarios in training? It would have been a different conversation some of that happened. In this game Arsenal were outplayed in the entire second half and managed better, than our quality players. We have won with more mistakes in other games than this albeit luck and players. A humbling loss to City at the Eithad Stadium. In what should have been a good statement in performance, the original Arsenal team we saw all season long were subdued by Manchester City's dominance in tactics and collective brilliance. It appears the traces of bone-headed mistakes and low standards had not come of a number of the players which affected the rest. It was really difficult to enjoy the team fight while going through the stretch of disappointment most of the game. Nevertheless the positives are evident why the team have been successful. Now we have no buffer to maintain our lead. We all know the next game amounts to so much conclusion. Another painful draw reminiscent of our game at Anfield. Strong start and early goals but we let the Hammers back into the game. Arsenal were not short on chances to put the game away but we just kept giving blunt responses after our early goals. We needed experience and cool heads to turn things but it was a fight to retain a point more than regain confidence. There were stand out players but not enough to get us back into a lead. As more of the games roll on we cannot allow any silliness or build up of mistakes define our entire season. We must all look on to the beliefs and positives that we create for the team to carry on. One of the toughest games of the season - Arsenal visited Liverpool at Anfield. So many used this game as the qualifier to winning the league title. I considered this another big test for Arsenal. The 2-2 draw was a result I would live with; a lot to be proud of, yet disappointed. We got a chance to experience an interesting match up. Something that was not a consideration Arsenal winning for quite some time. But the league leaders had the quality to manage to put things in better situation. Arsenal bounced back with a commanding 4-1 victory after our Europa league exit. The match was worrisome but we had luck on our side starting with the first shot from Crystal Palace. Our attack continued it's fine from to get the game on their side. While there wasn't a challenging pressure in the middle of the park, Arsenal had to deal with Crystal Palace's counter. Ramsdale deserves a lot of credit to keep out the goals. Unfortunately, not enough for the clean sheet. I talked about my top 3 players and some others for this game. The return leg of Europa league knockout versus Sporting. And that we were. A tough early exit in the knockout rounds. Very reminiscent of our 2019 heartbreaker against Olympiakos. Very good chances to close out the game but a lot of misfortunes and injuries made a dreadful impact. Arsenal didn't look like their usual self in the early minutes of the first half especially for a team well known in ball dominance in possession - quite the opposite. The team found themselves but against a very tough opponent in Sporting, we couldn't even get some shred of luck to win. My top 3 players deserved their call out. I just didn't have the same sentiment with the other guy today. So much to be expected out of him. We have to deal with this loss in an important way on Sunday. Arsenal took a trip to Caven Cottage. There were concerns leading up to this game due to absentees with injuries. But we had 2 surprise welcome in the lineup and bench. Trossard leading the attack literally in this game. So many notables to take away from an amazing win. First club in league history on 5 away games on clean-sheets; Arteta's 100th win and the return of Gabriel Jesus. And…awesome hattrick of an assist in a game. I came away really impressed in the teams' performance and the confidence seeing Jesus show us what we may have forgotten about his qualities. I talked about the atmosphere in the game, the style Arsenal played and my top 3 performers. Lots of excitement in the game with an emphatic early 3-nil lead & victory. The return of Europa League. Arsenal vs Sporting Portugal in Lisbon. An entertaining 2-2 draw with a lot of not so good display in the early part of the game. A lot of deficiency due to the 6 man shuffle to Arsenal's starting line up in the game. A number of open chances on both sides to take the game. Perhaps there was some understanding from the changes in the squad. Though missing key attacking players in Odegaard, Eddie & Trossard leaves you with minimal assurance in quality. It was good to see the team fight back to settle the score and eventually manage the game. On the show I highlighted my standout players and that one player who disappointed. There's a lot to take away from the draw especially for Turner and our defending composure. And other positives to note in the game as well. Most early predictions and expectations were the feelings of business as usual. But Arsenal was fighting for their life, for each other from an embarrassment of a close draw or a draw. This game could have easily been stolen from us having an incompetent VAR overlooking this game. This Arsenal team, did something historic - crawling back from a 2-0 nil score, the players and unexpected heroes came to do something special. There is much to learn from our defensive lapse in concentration. Arsenal's game in hand and revenge game was here; and it delivered! Arsenal return game against an Everton team we played less than 25 days ago was a different story - albeit some scary situations in our on box. Interesting first half and hour or so. Then the Starboy doing star things, broke open the lull of the game in the closing minutes of the first half! There was so many magical moments in this game that will remain as one of the best games of the season. Ramsdale was brilliant as well! In addition, this game made history as the 100th win against a team - Everton. Safe to say historic and Arsenal are often synonymous. With unchanged line up we saw a vibrant team that grew into confidence in all of second half. Trossard, Zinchenko and the rest of the team were in good light. Great quality of players on the bounce this game. A welcome sight for Emile-Smith Rowe on the pitch. Arsenal's visit to King's Stadium was a good match victory;1-nil to the Arsenal! First start for Trossard which looked quite good link up with Martinelli; which ultimately produced the only allowed goal in this game. I expect Eddie and Martinelli to take notice in this deficiency. Unusual refereeing call in Trossard's beautiful goal even after several replays. Arsenal played a dominant game but with blunt goal attempts from our front 4. Much has been said about decisive actions in the opponent's box. Now it's all about consistency. We have the quality players to do such - especially without G.Jesus. This game left us with confidence in the attack, displaying several passing options and defensive unison by the team. Good game management overall; thankfully a few important players got extra rest whilst contributing for this game. On the pod, I highlight the standout performers and who was lacking. Nothing is ever what it seems and we all witnessed it in this game against Aston Villa. An exhilarating 4-2 victory at Villa park. The stars did align for us to snatch this victory. Every indication until the 90 plus minute saw leaving with a draw or easily a loss. We weren't our usual Arsenal in the attacking department. We missed so much chances including sitters. It was unbelievable. Thanks to our unlikely heroes in the team to kick up our spirit in the game. I believe this has turned things around back in our favor and the course we have been charting at the top. Truly a mark of a championship-looking team to hold onto that belief till the literal end is remarkable and rewarding. An undoubtedly deserved win and crucial to rebuild our run. Although that should not take away the defensive concerns and lapses we showed. I would not put it on sole replacement of Partey but it's a factor nonetheless. It the biggest matchup this season. A game we all have been looking forward to and perhaps validate our standards against this team - Man City. The defending champions came to the Emirates and displayed their above class quality. A deflating loss with mistakes and shades of individuals on the pitch as supposed to team play within the box. It is great to see Saka continue to display a lot of strength - physically when bumping shoulders with defenders and mentally when you see no fear in this penalty kicks. I just can't wait to see him get comfortable with his right in the opponent's box. I hope the players rebound from this series of "downs" quick and respond with strength and togetherness. Fans like myself will always encourage the Arsenal players because we have come this far, this place at the top. It will take all of us to remain there. So, there is room for more to join. Coming into this game at the back of Arsenal loss in Matchweek 22, the gunners come away with an disappointing yet controversial 1-1 draw at the Emirates. The result could have gone either way; more towards a loss from very close chances by Brentford in this match. Arsenal showed a great sense of hunger and fight in this match. But there were a number of odd series of events that thankfully did not turn into real consequences of a moment's mistakes. I like the gameplay in some cases and others just felt weird. This result calls for more layered answers when the team is restricted - as seen recently to certain playing option into contingencies that will continue to make us a huge problem. Glad to see our squad depth providing much needed response in the game. We will count on that a lot more. I'd be lying if I said my thoughts aren't in this big upcoming big game. Arsenal against Everton at Goodison park is all but nothing short of the disappointment and still the undefeated streak of losing at that ground. League standings had no bearing on this game except for the new coach with an attempt to revive their fight against premier league relegation. It was mission accomplished for Everton. Arsenal suffered a 1-nil defeat after the team struggled to generate their usual intensity and goal threats in this game. Lots of possession on the ball yielding to flat and empty opportunities at the opponent's box. A number of Arsenal starting XI did not perform to the expected standards which ultimately resulted in the loss. Now we put this game behind us and we join the ranks to rally the team - as always. One of the most anticipated games of the season - Arsenal vs Man U. A classic matchup! So much hype, lots of nerves, lots of drama, yet an Arsenal 3-2 victory. Not the usual game domination we would expect from Arsenal but we still show a lot of domination especially in the second half. Twice we responded after conceding a goal. That's where this team is, not settling for draw or holding out based on something. A number of our players stepped up big time. Their extra push and fight got us this victory not to mention the support the fans where giving them. Just impressive. Lots of positives to take from this game and more importantly a lot of pride. I couldn't debate with anyone on the player they liked most in this game because it was a complete squad performance. Ramsdale had a statement game in their ground - one that will stay in recent memory for a while. I'm convinced when we discuss prospective players to join this Arsenal team, high-quality and dynamism is a must-have because that's what these players displayed throughout the match. There are still things to correct but I'm glad we got this victory considering the widely dramatic transfer-market series of event this past week. First game of the New Year Arsenal vs Newcastle at the Emirates. One of the most nervous games till date. Playing against the most defensive team is tough task which Arsenal was ready for. But the nil-nil draw was not without it's own misfortunes. Arsenal attack was not in its most efficient performance starting with the captain. This was a very intense game with so much emotion (maybe from recent memory against Newcastle) albeit different circumstance. Good to see a better outing for the defense - a sense of calm was needed; maybe much more in goal-attempts. Amongst other blessings to be counted, neither of our yellow card suspension candidates got into the books. Now we look on to the next - NLD. Up the Arsenal!
New Year's Eve match against Brighton at Amex Stadium was an interesting match! Full of brilliant plays, performances and nervous moments - vantage VAR. Arsenal quick starts in game goal scoring is becoming a signature if not already. Four goal by our 4 front players is really rewarding by their fine form and growing confidence heading into the New Year. Odegaard's elite performance helped Arsenal subdue the pressure against this quality team and uneasy ground - given our previous visits. We had lucky moments with missed goal chances by Brighton and VAR offside ruling against a 3rd goal. Arsenal's defense has to step-up in quality. The next game is here. C'mon Arsenal!
First game premier league game post World Cup! Boxing day match. Arsenal host West Ham at the Emirates. With Eddie at the start striker, there's a lot to live up to or at least contribute for a win. Thankfully, he delivered; Arsenal with a 3-1 victory picked up where we left off before the break. Even with the rest of the starting players intact, there was some doubt among the fans given Jesus's absence. But this is another message the team is sending about who they are and why we should continue believing. Arsenal home fans were outstanding. Our youngsters were on brilliant display and more importantly, full of confidence. I'm sure we will stay hungry for each battle. Glad to pick up another 3 points. We move on to the next game away. The final game before World Cup break, Arsenal face Wolves. The 1st team in the premier league against the bottom last had several versions of excitement. But the better excitement was the win plus City's loss per league points. Losing Xhaka at the start of the game didn't rattle our game-plan. And what a welcome showing of Vieira linking up with Odegaard in the attack. There was a lot of grit, excitement in the ball passing and movement to break the defensive stance by Wolves in the second half. Let this win count as one where a bench player was crucial in the game. There were a few others worthy of top honors in the game and one outlier. A good sendoff till the festivities and "special" tournament. Until then…up the Arsenal!
Arsenal visit Chelsea at Stamford Bridge. A lot of build up to this game including "special" message from Auba. I certainly hope he doesn't take it the 1-nil loss personally. It was a high intense game and there was much to love in the game. Arteta's tactics for this match was solid and the players raised their levels. There were a number of underwhelming performances based on the starting line-up for the game. Also hoping the levels from our last home game would carry on albeit second-team squad. We had a few eerie moments in the game and sadly that didn't spark the needed reaction. Credit to the team on the win and my top players in the game. Europa League return leg at PSV. A bad loss. Arsenal were outplayed in the game. There wasn't a glimpse of spark in either half. My disappointments are strongly aimed at the senior players. Subs and change in formation didn't do much to lift the players. It is no secret how good PSV have been so far this season. But the minimum is to compete and match the same level of intensity; yet it was not found. I picked out a few bright spots considering the overall mediocre showing. Arsenal visit St Mary's - memories of the past linger. Points shared with 1-1 draw. Such letdown by the players displaying a flat performance and missing out chances to hand onto a win. Not much excitement in the game by the players. Levels have to raised. A few standout players in my top 3 and surprising other player having a not so great output. It is clearly a feeling of loss - much work to be done. On to the next!
PSV at the Emirates - awaited game that was rescheduled. PSV high flying team in the group battle for the top place in Europa league group games. I expected a high scoring game based on their potential. Arteta fielded a different line-up up top. Another 1-nil victory, gives us the claim of the top of the group. Although this was an even matched game. PSV showed up in certain moments. Satisfactory job done by the boys. I pick out my top 3 & 1 players. On to the next. C'mon you gunners!
A trip to Elland road did not disappoint with series of unusual events - from power outage, TV coverage loss to temporary match suspension. This game was riddled with bad vibes all around. But what remains is Arsenal's victory against Leeds. Everything else was tactically poor. A scrap to get away with this win. I applaud the few players which I discuss. These wins are just as crucial as the "big" games - especially when this eerie type of game occur. Credit to the resilience of the team, we go again!
Europa league return leg. Arsenal away at Bodo\Glimt. The boys held onto a 1-nil victory; certainly not an easy game. Heading into a 14-home game win streak for Bodo/Glimt, we had to work much harder in this game coupled with a series of lucky moments that saved us, the game. My top 3 performers did the most to account for the victory. We learned more about our second team players and do expect more from them. Happy with the win. I hope for better Europa game performance. They came, they saw us, and we conquered them! Riding on high with a 3-2 victory, Arsenal showed a lot resilience and fight. So much to be proud of. Lots of drama and a couple of scary moments.
