Let’s set the scene: you’re an online coach and it’s been a long @$$ week. All you wanna do is meet up with your biz besties to vent over a margarita and deep bowl of guacamole because SERIOUSLY wtf were you thinking when you decided to build your own business. Yes, you love what you do … but if one more thing changes on social media or if you have to fix another stupid funnel, you’re gonna lose it. That’s “Marketing #Unfiltered" You don’t just learn awesome stuff to help you figure out marketing, you get the BTS scoop of building a business — the hilarious, the traumatic, and the “omg thank god I’m not the only one.” Hi! ✋🏻 I’m Sophia Parra and I’m a social media strategist for coaches. For years I ran an agency where I helped multiple six figure and seven figure coaches create content and strategies that build their following and drive traffic to their offers. I saw clients have 6 figure launches in the DMs, get 116 new email subscribers from one post, create systems for getting clients on social and most importantly — feel SUPER confident about how they show up online. I then took all those tested and refined strategies and put it into my my membership, www.whatthehecktopost.comBut — just like you — social media is only part of my business. I’m also a business owner who’s trying to figure out how to get it all done.In other words, the same bullsh*t you go through, I go through. I need strategies that don’t just work, but that keep me sane. The best part? My guests feel the same way. They’re here to swap biz horror stories AND share notes around the strategies that took things to the next level. So if you’re craving a podcast that feels like the perfect mix of biz talk with a coach and a catch up with your friends; grab a margarita and pull up a chair. I’ve got painfully relatable stories to make you laugh (or cry 🤣), and strategies to help you take ish to the next level.
This is Part 2 of a special two-part visibility series.
Part 1 is over on Holly Marie Haynes' podcast, Crush the Rush, which is also linked below.
That’s where Sophia shares her framework for becoming known through visibility, authority, and hosted experiences.
In Part 2, Holly flips the script and shares the strategy that's quietly grown her business for the last six years, without relying on social media.
We dive into why people are searching instead of scrolling, how AI is changing the way experts get discovered, and why creating long-form, searchable content is becoming one of the smartest ways to build trust and attract clients.
If you've been wondering how to get recommended by AI, create content that compounds over time, and build a business that doesn't depend on constantly posting to social media... this episode is for you.

In this episode, I'm sharing the hunch I've been sitting on: that we're moving out of the attention economy and into what I'm calling the evidence economy. And if I'm right, it changes everything about how we approach marketing, visibility, and becoming known.
Information is everywhere, and AI has made it even more accessible. That's why attention alone isn't enough to build trust anymore. Tune in to learn the three experiences that will help you build trust faster, stand out from the crowd, and become the obvious choice for your ideal clients.
Here's What We Cover:
Why we're entering the Evidence Economy—and why visibility alone isn't enough
The 3 experiences people need before they trust—and hire—you
Why your content isn't creating clients
How to become known before you need to sell
Build a visibility ecosystem that does the heavy lifting

In this episode, I'm joined by Meagan Williamson, a Pinterest strategist who's been in this space since the early beta days and has built her entire business around the platform that most business owners are completely sleeping on. We're breaking down what Pinterest actually is (spoiler: it's a search engine, not a social media platform), why it works so differently from Instagram, what kind of content performs well, what a realistic timeline looks like, and how to build a funnel that converts cold Pinterest traffic into actual clients, including one of Megan's clients who makes between $300K and $600K in direct Pinterest sales in a single month.

In this episode, I'm sharing one of the strategies I've been implementing in my business this year— something I'm calling the Low-Lift offer. Not a membership. Not a mini course. Not another content hamster wheel. A simple, paid container designed for one purpose: conversation. And it's been one of the most powerful sales strategies I've built in years. Better yet, my clients are seeing incredible results with it too.

Welcome to part two of my Back on the Map series.
In part one, I talked about the biggest mistake I've made in business and what it's cost me.
Part 2 is the next layer of that conversation. Because once you get clearer on what you want to be known for, you also have to start changing how you operate—how you build your visibility and authority, how you approach growth, how you structure your business.

This week’s episode is a follow-up to my recent conversation with Kelly Chase in episode 213.
We talked about something I don't think enough people are discussing: what happens when your business gets more visibility than it's actually built to handle.
The truth? More visibility doesn't automatically grow your business like we think it does. Sometimes it actually breaks it.
In this episode, I'm breaking down the three pieces you need in place before chasing more visibility—because if these aren't solid, more eyes on your work won't grow your business. It'll just amplify the gaps.
Here's what I discussed:
1. Why more visibility won't fix unclear messaging
2. The difference between getting attention and holding attention
3. Visibility for the sake of being seen vs. visibility that builds authority
4. What happens after someone finds you?
5. The infrastructure piece most people skip
And so much more…

What’s actually killing your profit: undercharging, overdelivering, messy team spending, and “bank balance” decision-making

Build a Brand Foundation That Supports Your Next Level with Tiffany Neuman
Tiffany Neuman is a brand strategist who works with thought leaders to build what she calls a "brand operating system." And here's the truth: most of us are operating with some version of a Frankenstein brand. We built the plane while flying it, added layers as we went, and now we're looking around, wondering why our next level feels harder than it should.
In this episode we're breaking down what actually makes up a brand (it's way more than logos and colors), and how to start refining your brand so it actually supports where you're going next.
If your business has grown but your brand hasn't quite caught up, this is for you.
Here’s what we cover:
What a brand actually is — your entire business ecosystem, not just visuals
The Frankenstein brand problem — too many pivots and layers, leaving your brand disjointed and unfocused
The core elements of a strong brand foundation — voice, offers, story, ideal client, and more
The overlooked piece: your client journey — how people are nurtured, supported, and moved into what’s next
The brand shift that costs nothing — stop selling, start inviting

Are you a coach who has had “write a book” sitting in the back of your mind for… months? Years? And not just any book—but one that actually helps you get clients?
Most people either get stuck staring at a blank page or end up creating something that sounds like everyone else because they’re relying on generic AI or no structure at all.
Ashley’s approach is different. She’s been helping people write strategic, marketable books in as little as 30 days—before AI was even part of the conversation. And now, she’s built that method into AI Super Author so you can validate your idea, structure your content, and actually write your book faster (without losing your voice).
If you’ve had “write a book” sitting in the back of your mind… this is your sign.

This is episode one of a new series called Back on the Map, where I'm taking you behind the scenes of what it looks like to rebuild after losing your way.
This one's vulnerable. And honestly? A little maddening.
Because the mistake I made was so basic, so fundamental, that it's almost embarrassing to admit. And I didn't just do it for a second—I did it for years.
In this episode, I'm walking you through what happened when I went from being "the social media girl" to trying to become "the marketing girl"—and why that shift didn't just create a messaging headache. It created systemic problems that affected everything from my energy to my team to my positioning in the industry.
Here's What We Cover:
The “I can help with everything” trap that’s keeping you invisible
What happens when you stop niching (beyond the messaging headache)
The red flag that your messaging is too vague… and costing you sales
Why "switching gears constantly" is draining you faster than you think
How unclear positioning is quietly blocking bigger opportunities
And so much more…

Ash Chow is a launch copywriter and sales page expert, and in this episode she's breaking down exactly what needs to be on your sales page, in what order, and why most people are missing the most important sections entirely.
This isn't theory. This is the structure, the messaging principles, and the nitty-gritty details you need to actually write (or rewrite) your sales page so it converts without feeling pushy.
If your sales page feels like a block of text that no one's reading or worse, you're getting traffic but no conversions, this episode is for you.
Here’s What We Cover:
Why the sales page should come before your launch emails (and how it makes messaging 10x easier)
The 4 core sections every high-converting sales page needs
The missing section most sales pages skip that quietly tanks conversions
How to make your messaging hyper-specific instead of vague so it actually resonates

In this episode with brand voice and messaging strategist Jen Liddy, we're diving into the layers of messaging that most people completely miss. This isn't about being louder or showing up more. It's about letting the parts of YOU that make you different actually show up in your content.
You know your audience's pain points. You're using their words. You're talking about feelings and potential. But something's still missing. Your messaging feels flat and generic, like every other coach in your space. Here's what nobody tells you: The floor of messaging (knowing your audience) is essential. But the nuance, the voice, the personality, and the positioning are what actually make people choose YOU.
Here's What We Cover:
…and the deeper work that turns good messaging into magnetic messaging.

You know that panicky moment when you realize you need sales NOW but you don't have a giant audience to sell to? Yeah, that one.
Maybe renewals didn't come through. Maybe a launch underperformed. Maybe life got busy and audience growth just... didn't happen. And now you're stuck thinking: "Should I focus on growth or sales? How do I do BOTH without losing my mind?"
Here's the truth: When you need revenue sooner rather than later, proximity beats popularity. Every time.
In this episode, Sophia will be breaking down the exact 3-bucket framework for making sales when your audience feels too small without waiting months for visibility to build. These are the fastest paths to revenue that don't require more followers, more content, or more time.
Here's What We Cover:

If your audience feels quiet right now, like the DMs are slow, the energy is flat, and you're showing up but nobody's really responding, this episode is for you.
Here's the truth: A quiet audience is almost never a content problem. It's not a follower count problem either. It's a connection problem, a follow-up problem, and an "I'm not creating engagement strategically" problem.
In this solo episode, Sophia will break down the exact 3-layer framework she uses to create engagement on demand, the kind that actually leads to conversations, relationships, and sales. Not viral moments. Not vanity metrics. Real, meaningful engagement that converts.

Jenna Kutcher is pausing The Goal Digger Podcast. Amy Porterfield is retiring Digital Course Academy. And the internet is doing what the internet does, panicking and asking if this means podcasts are dead, courses don't work, and online business as we know it is over. Sophia is here to slow that narrative WAY down. Because what's actually happening isn't that these formats are broken, it's that two massive business owners are intentionally closing chapters they've been in for nearly a decade. There's a huge difference between "this format no longer works" and "this format no longer fits where I am." In this episode, Sophia breaks down the real industry shifts happening (spoiler: they happen every 5-10 years), why a big fish feeling a shift doesn't mean the pond dried up, and gives you three concrete actions to take instead of panicking or standing still.
Here's What We Cover:
...and what to focus on when the industry feels loud, chaotic, and unclear.

Six months ago (literally the week Sophia gave birth), she and her husband, Bradley, a Peloton instructor with a built-in community, launched a podcast that got thousands of downloads immediately. No warming up. No convincing. People just showed up. It was such a stark contrast to launching Marketing Unfiltered years earlier without an audience, and it crystallized something Sophia sees coaches mess up constantly: they spend a year perfecting their program while completely forgetting to grow their community. Then they launch a webinar and ask, "who am I promoting this to?" and realize... there's no one there. This episode is Sophia's wake-up call that audience growth can't be an afterthought anymore, it needs seasons, strategy, and to happen alongside (or before) building your offers. Because if you want to be a big deal in 2026, you can't wait until your program is perfect to start growing your audience.

Kelly Sinclair took the entire summer off social media and had her highest-income summer in four years. How? By redefining visibility as a daily habit that has nothing to do with performative posting and everything to do with building actual relationships. In this refreshingly honest episode, Kelly shares why she declared 2025 "the year of only if it's a hell yes," how she got a client while working at a bookstore with a messy hair bun, and why visibility is about taking one strategic action every single day, not checking off boxes to feel productive. From building custom AI tools to help you take messy action to the reality of cycling back to "I don't know what I'm selling" eight years into business, this episode is permission to let it be easy.

If you're carrying around everything in your business like it's all on you—feeling guilty about delegating, worried no one will do it right, or just stuck doing it all yourself—this episode is for you.

If you've ever thought "it's just easier to do it myself" or felt guilty asking your team to take things off your plate, this conversation will shift how you think about delegation entirely.

✨ The secret to niching down without boxing yourself in (hint: it’s about your audience’s experience, not their job title)
✨ How to turn those audience “experiences” into endless content + clear calls to action
Whether you’ve ghosted your email list, feel stuck with too many calls-to-action, or worry your niche is too broad, this episode will help you simplify your strategy and start taking confident action again.

Tired of watching potential clients slip through your fingers because they need 83 touch points before they trust you enough to buy? What if you could speed up that journey while building genuine relationships that lead to incredible retention rates?
This is part two of a special cross-over episode! Make sure you listen to part one on Polly's podcast "Make More Money Without Selling Your Soul" where we dive into our business origin stories and the mistakes that taught us everything.
Welcome to Marketing Unfiltered, where host Sophia explores authentic marketing strategies for entrepreneurs who want to build genuine connections with their audience.
In this episode, Sophia continues her conversation with evergreen funnel expert Polly Lavarello to tackle one of the biggest challenges facing entrepreneurs today: how to build trust and make sales in an increasingly skeptical market where people need more touch points than ever before.
We cover:
➡️ How low ticket offers are replacing webinars as the new "trust builder" (and why charging $50-$500 upfront gets better results than free)
➡️ The truth about touch points: why it's gone from 7 to 83 touch points before someone buys (and how to make this work FOR you, not against you)
➡️ Why retention should be 50%+ of your marketing focus (and how one client renewed for the FOURTH year in a row)
➡️ The biggest mistake entrepreneurs make: building fancy funnels before validating their offer actually sells
➡️ How to create a "body of work" with your content so new people can quickly understand what you do and why you're different
➡️ Why your business should be "the most boring thing about you" (and how simplicity builds trust faster than complexity)
➡️ The psychology behind why people say "that was so helpful!" but never actually implement what you taught them
➡️ How to reverse engineer everything from your high ticket offer (including list growth strategies that actually convert)
➡️ Why ads are becoming non-negotiable for sustainable growth (even if you start with just a small budget)
Whether you're struggling with low conversion rates, dealing with tire-kickers, or wondering why your "perfect" funnel isn't working, this episode gives you the roadmap to build systems that actually convert prospects into long-term, high-value clients.

Tired of the same old sales strategies? There’s another way.
We tend to think the only way to sell is through webinar launches, sales calls, 5-day challenges, or maybe an evergreen funnel if we’re feeling fancy.
They all work—but they’re not the only way to sell, no matter what some online guru says.
That’s why I loved this convo with Nicki Krawczyk. She created the Circuit Sales System—a genius hybrid of live launching and evergreen that takes the best parts of both. It’s also how she 40X’d her revenue in under two years. (Yeah. Forty.)
We cover:
If your sales process feels stuck or stale, this episode might be exactly what you need to shake things up.

In the spirit of the holiday, I felt called to reshare this episode.
This story STILL gives me chills one year later.

Jessica Buchanan is an American woman from Ohio who was kidnapped on October 25th, 2011.
She was abducted by Somali parities and held for ransom for 93 days before Seal Team 6 rescued her on January 5th, 2012.
This is a story about knowing who you are; speaking up when something doesn’t feel right; the tremendous courage it takes to experience a worst case scenario and still try to make something good come out of it; healing; and using your voice to help others do the same.
After 10 years since her abduction, Jessica supports women in writing their manuscript through her and putting their story out into the world.
In this episode Jessica also shares why she helps people like you get their book out into the world and the practical — as well as emotional — benefits of doing so.

Google and Yahoo are making updates to how they deliver emails for the first time in 20 years and you absolutely must make these three very simple changes if you want your emails to be delivered to your email list.
If you think I’m being dramatic, I’m not.
Let’s break this down.
Here’s how it currently works (in super simple terms):
➡️ You grow your list using a CRM platform (ie. Kajabi, ConvertKit, etc.)
➡️ Every time you send your weekly email to your list, your email knocks on Google and Yahoo’s door asking to be let through to the inboxes of your community.
➡️ And Google / Yahoo let you in because they know your CRM.
But starting February 1st, things are changing.
You will now be allowed in (or not allowed in) based on YOUR OWN reputation and online identity.
And Cheryl is going to break this down in WAY more detail on today’s episode.
We’re gonna cover:
1️⃣Three super simple steps that you must do in order to be let into people’s inboxes after February 1st.
(Think: actual code to put on your website so you essentially have an online ID that Google / Yahoo can recognize.)
2️⃣Strategies for strengthening your relationship with your list to increase deliverability over time
3️⃣ALL the details so you know what’s going on, the timeline, and what you can do before February 1st, by February 1st, and after February 1st.
And more…
So if you are a business owner, this is an absolute MUST listen to.

This is part 2 in our 2024 prep series!
Last week we talked about 4 ways we can prep ourselves for more clients in 2024, now let’s talk about how to use last year’s data to create content that performs even better next year.
There’s a little change of pace on today’s show.
This isn’t an episode about marketing advice today — it’s more a conversation about healing from heartbreak, falling in love with yourself, and how devastation can open you up to your greatest power.
Thirteen: One Woman’s Sacred Journey to Discovering Her Greatest Power opens with Nikol about to be reunited with her husband, who she has been having a long distance marriage with.
And she is over the moon excited.
She’s getting his favorite foods.
And cleaning her apartment.
And fantasizing about what it’s going to be like when she introduces him to all of her friends.
But their reunion is not what she is expecting.
In fact, he tells her he doesn’t love her anymore.
13 is a book about her heartbreak and healing, falling in love with herself, and with her current partner.
But the truth is, we ALL have our own Thirteen (or utter devastation moment where your entire world feels like it’s falling apart.)
In this episode I ask her questions about…
➡️ …the story she tells within her book
➡️…what she would say to anyone currently navigating a “thirteen.”
➡️…her favorite tools for healing.
And so much more.

Today we have Lindsay Maloney on the show!
We’re talking about how to build a 6 figure business in 5 hours a week.
Now, as a total over-worker … I have absolutely been a skeptic of this concept.
But I love how Lindsay breaks it down.
We’ll talk about:
Plus we get clear on Lindsay’s business and what she has set up behind the scenes to make this happen.
My favorite part is every assumption I made about what you need and don’t need to make this happen is essentially false!
I just can’t get my own stories out of my head about how much you can get done in a day 😆
So I freaking love Lindsay’s approach and how SIMPLE she has made things.

Aimee Cerka is a real life wonder woman.
She is the mother of 4 kids including a 10 month old, wife to someone who works away from home 5 or so days a week, a business owner, AND she homeschools all of her children.
She has also navigated some MAJOR medical experiences in the past 10-ish years that has made her an expert – not just in helping you create money systems that support your business – but in the country’s money systems.
For that reason, she can speak extensively on navigating insurance (in fact, her background is in insurance!), paying off medical debt (after a child landed in NICU for 52 days and her husband was found unresponsive, she knows a thing or two about this!), and budgeting in a way that feels expansive and not limiting.
She also supports women in unlocking their cashflow so they can make more money thanks to methodical and simple systems that clearly educate you on what’s working and not working, so you can focus on the stuff that actually matters.

This might surprise you, but most of us don’t know what we’re selling.
We think we’re selling a course or a group coaching package or a mastermind group… but we’re actually selling feelings.
People don’t buy cars, they buy status.
People don’t buy alarm systems, they buy peace of mind.
You may or may not have heard this advice before, but have you put it into action?
In this episode, I walk you through 3 ways to use this advice in your content.
Today we’re changing the pace a little bit.
My husband is on the show today. For those of you who don’t know him, my husband is Bradley Rose and he’s an instructor at Peloton.
Something we get asked about ALL the time is his stroke:
We also take questions from the audience which lead us into a conversation about managing anxiety and creating content with confidence.
Comin’ to you from mid-launch.
Most would find this coo-coo-cray-cray that I’m talking about my launch while I’m in it. But this podcast is “unfiltered” and I’ll always keep my word around that.
So I’m taking you behind the scenes of my most recent launch.
It did not go to plan.
But we turned some things around thanks to these 3 steps and I’m gonna walk you through ‘em so you’ve got them in your back pocket for your next launch.

Today we’re talking about my childhood 👀
Don’t worry, I won't get weird on you. But I have a [money 💰] gift and it requires a back story.
(scroll to the bottom if you just want the gift. I got you!🔥)
I don’t know about you, but I have an irrational fear about losing everything I have.
And I think it stems back to this moment, leaving the airport in Dhaka, Bangladesh for the first time, where I’d live for the next 4 years.
Backstory:
I lived in Southeast Asia for 18 years so was no stranger to this part of the world, but the emotional impact of experiencing so much desperation in this moment stayed with me....forever. And going home to Dhaka last month (for the first time in almost 20 years) reminded me of it.
In dissecting this moment, I can see how it affected my ongoing relationship with work AND money for years to come.
So, why share about my childhood?
1️⃣ To inspire you around where to look for your own money story [hint: It's probably hiding in your childhood). Releasing it is key to your next level of ANYTHING (money, business, relationships, etc.) and I learned this the hard way.
2️⃣And because I was invited by Kate Northrup to take part in her Money Breakthrough Report.
It's this JUICY report jam packed full of women I admire and their money tips, breakthroughs, and stories.
In this highly uncertain, volatile period of our lives, I hope that it will bring you comfort, direction, and some inspo for your next big money move.

Today I have a bubbly treat for you.
Kelsey Kurtis is on the show talking about BRANDING.
But… not in the way you’re probably used to talking about it. (Logos, fonts, and colors!)
She talks about how branding isn’t just about what things look like, it’s about how you’re making people feel and the relationships you’re building. So of course – as the self proclaimed relationship queen – you already know I got alllll into that!
But then she’s ALSO insanely knowledgeable about the aesthetic piece.
For instance, ever heard about color psychology and what the colors you choose actually mean??
Me neither. This part BLEW my mind!
Here are other things we talked about:
➡️What exactly her connection method is
➡️Step one for getting started with defining your brand — I absolutely love this tip
➡️What brand colors mean and a little behind the scenes on the mistakes I’ve made with my colors. Like I said, I was amazed with this part!
➡️How often you should have brand photo shoots and some tips of the trade from Kelsey
➡️Her personal social media strategy
➡️And a ton more.
Plus, at the very end, she shares an AWESOME homework assignment that I seriously recommend you do.

Today we’ve got our first installment of our FLY ON THE WALL series, where you can be a fly on the wall of a group coaching session inside of the Go-To Coach Club.
I’m doing this for a couple of reasons:
We’re getting ready to close doors to the club so you can only join 3 times a year which means it’s the last chance to join the Go-To Coach club for a while in the next few weeks and I want you to have a sense of what happens here!
Our Problem Solving Calls are where coaches sign up for the hot-seat when they have something that is keeping them stuck in their marketing.
We have one a month and we tackle allllll kinds of issues.
From the more foundational pieces like messaging or even technology hiccups.
To the more advanced issues like selling in the DMs and building a signature talk.
Today you’ll hear from…
➡️Ronni who is an Eating Disorder Recovery coach.
She wants to reach out and re-engage the women she supported 3-4 years ago and let them know that she’s opened a coaching business, without coming off like a slimy salesperson.
➡️Emily, who is a Sundance award winner and a coach for actors.
She wants to talk about pitching to collaborators for joint IG lives to grow her audience.
➡️Jess, who is a corporate trainer and a stress + burnout life coach.
She wants help creating content that promotes her quiz.
➡️And also Tal who is a breakup recovery coach.
She wants to talk about making the most out of the podcast interviews that she’s appearing on.
Tune in to hear our coaching session and also hear me recap the tips so you can apply them to your own business.

Today I’m sharing three Instagram Stories that…
➡️ Create your go-to coach factor
➡️ Make it super clear what you do
➡️ Creates engagement
➡️ Tells stories
➡️ And make sales
Stories are the most BINGED piece of content on Instagram.
(Yep, more then reels.)
People tend to not care that much about them because their main benefit is NOT growth. But the truth is, who cares if you grow if you’re not nurturing your audience?
Growth without solid nurturing systems and content will do NOTHING.
So if you’re looking for some structure around how to show up on Instagram stories to nurture your existing audience so that you actually see a conversion, this will help.

Haley Burkhead knocked my socks off in this conversation.
If you think creating wealth just means making more money in your business – you need to listen to this.
If you think creating wealth means investing in stocks – you need to listen to this.
If you think creating wealth requires you to basically have a whole new job outside of all the things you already do – you need to listen to this.
Haley shows us that creating wealth is absolutely possible regardless of your background, education, or how much money you currently have.
In fact, one of the things that blew my mind is her approach to creating wealth WITHOUT putting any money down at all.
We cover…
☑️…motherhood (a sensitive topic for me!) and why we need to be open to paving our own path and having our journey
☑️…the 3 stages of wealth
☑️…how to create wealth systems without spending any money
☑️…different kinds of money makers (that actually have nothing to do with your business)
☑️…why putting wealth systems in your life does NOT add as much extra time as you think (hint: Haley works and manages her wealth in 3-4 hours a day, the rest of her time is totally free to spend with her family or however she sees fit)
And more. WAY more.
She is a WEALTH of information, no pun intended 🤣

Today we have Christie Miller on the show!
Christie was diagnosed with breast cancer last year and has been SUCH an inspiration to me.
Actually, her mindset has ALWAYS inspired me.
She’s one of those women who will put her mind to something and absolutely achieve it.
In fact, she has won THREE cars in her life.
One of them was a Porsche, and the other was a Tesla!!!
And in all 3 instances, she visualized herself winning, journaled, and really paid attention to her thoughts.
So when she was diagnosed with cancer – something that would send most people into a spiral – she used all of her go-to mindset techniques to beat it without traditional treatment.
I am enormously inspired by this woman, who is a former client and now a dear friend.
Listen in to hear about:
➡️Her diagnoses
➡️How Cancer changed her life and business for the better
➡️Mindset techniques she swears by during her launches
Then, at the end, I have an extra treat for you.
Christie is actually an expert on free 5-Day challenges, so while we spent most of our time talking about her resilient mindset, I also designed a game of sorts to help her share her unique approach to 5-day challenges so you can have an extra tool in your toolbox!

Today, we’re takin’ a trip through my DMs.
I got a great question from “Jamie.”
She understands the importance of speaking to strangers on the internet if you want to create collaborative relationships and grow in a nurtured way on Instagram.
But… she’s the kinda gal who sits alone at a party counting down the hours until she can leave instead of trying to meet friends.
So … HOW does this happen for someone who’s not a social butterfly?
The truth is, this will be difficult for someone who doesn’t go out of their way to speak to people.
But – it WILL get easier when you show up just to be human and stop over-thinking it.
And just to prove my point, I took a gander through my DMs and read my last 5 DMs to strangers along with the context around why I was messaging them.
I hope you see that – in this stage of messaging – the only objective is to create a genuine connection.
I’m not approaching this with a step 1, step 2 or step 3 strategy.
I’m not trying to trick people into talking to me so that I can sell them something.
I’m doing what social media was designed for, being social.
And when you see these DM examples, I hope you’ll see that this does not have to be complicated AT ALL. In fact, it can be the easiest and most effective thing you do for your business.

We’ve got a question from a listener!
“Alexa” did some bot work back in the day so she’s got several thousand followers … but they’re very untargeted.
She wants to know if she should start her account over.
This is a hard one to answer, because it depends!
So I walk through some pros + cons to consider so you can come up with the best answer for you.
FYI: Consider this a part 2 to episode 30 where we talk about whether or not you should have a separate account for your business.

In my last episode I said something like…
“If you’re not growing your email list, you’re not growing your business.”
People got a little alarmed when I said that.
They said things like, “But I am trying to grow my email list… but it’s not working!”
So I wanted to do an episode covering the biggest mistakes I see when people are sharing their lead magnets and doing “all” the things but… it’s not working.
Now of course, your lead magnet must be something your audience wants.
That’s THE most important part of all of this.
But outside of that, these 5 mistakes can also make a HUGE difference and – so often – I see people don’t even consider them.
So let’s dive in!

Today we’re gettin’ real. At the risk of sounding like a broken record, this is for you if you get stuck thinking, “WTF am I doing wrong?? I post everyday but don’t get results!”
Let’s break this down.
There are three objectives that we typically have:
➡️an objective to GROW
➡️an objective to NURTURE
➡️an objective to SELL
And whatever big picture strategy you have for each of these things, social media needs to be PART of it, it can’t be the full thing.
So I share what I’m doing behind the social media for each of these things in this episode.
And then ask you a real talk question at the end to bring it all together.

Today I’m doing another episode of Good Boss / Bad Boss.
I’m sharing some behind the scenes of our most recent launch and how I realized that some unhealed stuff was sneaking back into my world.
That was disappointing…
I’ll share some questions to ask yourself so you can make sure the same isn’t happening to you.
And then we move into my good boss moment.
I’m proud of the growth I’ve made with my micro-managing tendencies, but man this journey is still hard! I share some behind the scenes of our tech issue over the Christmas holiday – how I handled it (or how I did NOT), what happened, and the questions I asked myself to help myself LET GO.
I create these episodes to normalize the roller coaster that is building an online business.
I didn’t have that, but I always wanted it.
So if that’s something you crave, too, this is for you!
Allison is a mama boss.
She works 20 hours a week but has a six figure business.
She spends lots of time with her kids but she has a very successful podcast.
She works out consistently but still makes sales almost daily!
How does she do this?
Very. Clear. Systems and funnels.
So today, that’s what we’re talking about.
We’ll cover:
What actually is an email funnel
How to not be salesy in your emails
What resources she uses to build out her email funnels (simply)
Why you should be sharing videos in your emails
And more…
We also play a game called “connect the dots” where she shares how each piece of content that she creates fits into her system.

I am OBSESSED with this rule.
It reminds us to keep things relatable.
So if you’re looking for a chuckle and a very valuable content lesson, this episode is for you.
Especially if your content isn’t getting engagement and you’re not sure why.
Real talk: Statistically speaking, this year will be average at best.
And that’s not to bring you down or make you feel like shit.
It’s the opposite in fact.
So … yeah. I’ve got a message not everyone will want to hear but I actually think it’s the one we all need.

One year ago I completely changed my business.
Many of you know that story.
But this has actually been a journey that’s been going on for a few years.
So I rewind a bit to give you the full scope of what was going on internally for me, and then move into the two biggest lessons I’ve learned to help you not hate your business (now or later).
Have you ever noticed that – when you travel / take time off / do something fun – you get way more reach on your content?
[Probably because this is SOCIAL media but we’ll talk about that another time!]
Given it’s the holiday season, you might be feeling like you want to take time off, but the marketing / business owner side of you feels like you can’t do that.
Maybe you’ve spent all of 2022 building the consistency muscle and you don’t want to fall off the bandwagon.
Or you just want to leverage the holiday reach that naturally happens when you take time off and post fun stuff.
Either way, this episode is for you.
We’ll talk about 4 tips to help you holiday prep your content so that you are NOT spending extra bandwidth on content but still bringing all that extra holiday traffic back to your business.
Tip 1: My handy caption tip
Tip 2: What to do with your emails so you’re turning ‘em into content + growing your list
Tip 3: How to reel prep so you’re spending 10 years looking for an idea
Tip 4: Repurpose, repurpose, repurpose.
My first business coach is on the show today!
And this is special for a few reasons… not just because Dallas knows her sh*t, but because she is super transparent about the roller coaster that is online business.
She also knows WAY too much about me so we had some fun looking back at the last 6 years!
In addition to hearing a little bit about what I was like as a newbie social media manager (hint: Trying hard to prove my worth!) we also talk about…
The thing that makes her feel self-doubt in her business. I loved this because it is SO relatable!
Her step by step referral marketing process and how it works
Why you probably have NOT created a referral marketing funnel, even if you think you have.
How and why this is awesome for people with a small network.
The best way to follow up after you’ve made a referral request but haven’t heard back yet
And a lot more. Dallas is full of mic drops!

We got a lot of response to our recent Good Boss / Bad Boss episode.
Including from one listener, who we’ll call Leona, who shared her “bad boss” moment:
“My low this week was spiraling over this one potential client who decided to go to someone with a shiny neon sign because they've been in business way longer. But I know for a fact that she doesn't have the skills I do, and that person's choice made me feel like I could never have a successful business.”
This highlighted to me a skill that took me years to learn, but was a game changer when I did.
And that’s making the problem the solution.
Tune in so I can walk you through it.

She’s not just one helluva conversion copywriter, she’s a business owner who knows her sh*t and is VERY open about the highs and lows she went through to get here.
We talk about:
We also play a little “game” which I call Ashlyn’s Holiday Gift Guide — that’s where she shared the biggest biz building lessons that she thinks you need to take into 2023 with you.
It’s juicy y’all.

I’m gonna say something a little controversial here…
And whether you agree with me or not, I hope this conversation helps you see the importance of clarity.
First, we’re gonna dive into the belief that pain points are manipulative.
And then I’m gonna share an example of two of the same messages – but one shared without tapping into pain points, and the other shared with tapping into pain points – can’t wait to hear which one resonates with you.

Just like the title suggests, there are 5 BS beliefs (that I hear again, and again, and again!) that are stopping you from getting clients.
Let’s walk through each one and talk about why they are total bullsh*t.
The moral of the story: If we don’t get clear on the ACTUAL problem, you’ll get yourself stuck.
Question your beliefs. Especially these five.

If you have been dreaming about starting a membership you are going to learn a ton about how to put one out into the world successfully.

Lovedddd this conversation with Jamie!
Jamie is a Money Mindset Coach who went from $140k - $500k in one year – not from working harder, but from applying everything she knows and coaches about thinking differently about money.
This episode is for you if you…
➡️…want to create more money but are feeling STUCK
➡️…want to identify a money block that may be holding you back
➡️…have money beliefs that you’re fully aware of but don’t know what the heck to do about them.
This conversation is FULL of practical tips for shifting your relationship with money so you can pave the way to create more of it.
We’ll answer questions like:
We also played a game called MONEY BLOCK TO MONEY MATCH where we addressed how to overcome 5 money beliefs shared by our audience:
➡️”There’s never enough money.”
➡️”What if I'm not a good enough coach to make the amount of money that I want?”
➡️”Making money is hard work.”
➡️”Losing my money is inevitable.”
➡️”I don't have time to manifest money. I need money ASAP.”
In other words, this hour and 15 minutes is jam packed.

We’re in the middle of the growth challenge right now.
That’s where my community is creating a list of podcasts to pitch to so they can get in front of new audiences.
And a question comes up every time I support someone through a pitching process: Should I pitch to people who might see me as a competitor?
From where I stand… yes.
I’m not saying they’re your first pitch.
But they shouldn’t not be on the list just because they’re a competitor.
Because the truth is even the competitors aren’t really competitors.
But now the question becomes… HOW do you do that so it makes sense for both of you.
We’ll cover that in this episode!

When people ask you what you do, what do you say?
I’m gonna bet you mumble through something super vague … and you probably do it really quickly because you think no one’s gonna understand what the heck an online coach even is.
Amiright?
You would be STUNNED how many people have entered my world because of a clear “what I do” statement.
People will often respond with, “Oh my gosh! My sister is a coach! I should send her your way.”
Or months later I’ll get an email saying, “Sophia I was just speaking to a friend of a friend and she’s really struggling with social media. Are you taking clients? If so, I’d love to connect her with you.”
Why did they think of me all that time later?
Because…
Now – in their mind – I’m the first person they’ll think of when someone in their world expresses the pain point I solve.
In this episode I share a story about this playing out recently and I also walk you through some templates you can steal so you can stop missing out on this super easy visibility strategy.
In today’s episode we talk about the biggest problem you have with your social media: your unrealistic expectations!
I take you through an engagement equation to help you uncover what kind of engagement you should actually expect for the size of your following.
Now you know if you should stop obsessing over “low” engagement so you can use that energy for something productive, or if your concerns are valid.
Either way, it will help you uncover your next step.
Trigger warning: I also tell you the story about that time I couldn’t fit into my pants and I was very hard on myself but realized it was actually a crazy story I was telling myself because of unrealistic expectations.
Hint-hint: yes, you’re doing the same with your engagement.
If your top value is showing up authentically online, you want to listen to this.
Especially if you feel like strategies make you feel inauthentic.
I share 3 truths that I hope will help you see strategies in a different light.
Especially if you have trouble…
Consider this my love letter to the people who do NOT want to feel icky online and are afraid of being judged as inauthentic.

In this episode I’ll help you identify your “belief content” to help you cut the noise and jump off the page.
Tips and tricks and all that has a place … but getting clear on what you believe and what your ideal clients need to believe to be a perfect fit client for you is what’s going to make your content pop off the page and help us see you as the expert you are.

Does sharing personal content feel …… icky?
I get it.
Why does anyone need to know this stuff, right?
Here’s the thing … personal content isn’t about sharing your lunch or your deepest darkest secrets. There’s actually a very clear, strategic reason for sharing personal content and I’m about to share with you what that is.
My hope is that after this episode, you feel clear around the purpose of personal content and how to share it so that it doesn’t feel weird.

Yes, engagement matters.
But if you think engagement means “likes” and “comments,” you need to listen to this episode.
The algorithm considers WAY more than “likes” and “comments” engagement.
And when you understand this, you can be more strategic with your content so it’s seen by more people.
(You’ll also stop getting insecure about your crappy engagement…)
Plus, I’ll share about 14 CTAs to get you started on content that leverages the algorithm!
Are you not growing on social media? Or worse … are you not getting clients on social media?
