Callie’s Ma Ma is on the podcast this week! Happy Mother’s Day to all of the wonderful women of influence around the world. Don’t forget to tell the special ladies around you that they are special to you and why they are special to you.

Mia has built her life around being a mother and a grandmother. So many people call her mom and it is a testament to how she has executed the art of giving love.

Two things we missed sharing on this recording:

  1. Her babies are her best friends-she feels like her children come with built-in friendships
  2. She is Callie’s biggest cheerleader. If you want one snippet of how powerful she has been in Callie’s life, listen to one of the first podcast episodes, Leap of Faith, from back when the podcast was titled "Successfully Unstuck, with Jo Jo". She fully participates in any activities related to the Facebook group or the podcast and is the reason the group is back to thriving and engaging today! Join our Facebook community, be encouraged and see her wonderful thoughts.

You won’t be able to tell how shy she is in this interview, but you will be able to tell she is a gift. Enjoy the warm fuzzies as we enjoy Mother’s Day together.

This episode is a reflection of how you climb up from a rock bottom situation. Callie shares how hitting her rock bottom brought on a time of this reflection and allowing people to care for her.

Life can improve after hitting what feels like rock bottom. It is a sign from life that you can’t move forward in your current situation. You may not even label it "rock bottom" until you look back later at how your perspectives and actions in life changed.

Many are well past this stage in life but it can hit at anytime. Creating community is so important because the community you create is who will lift you up. Allow the support. Are you coming out from a rock bottom situation and want more support? Follow Callie and be on the look out for opportunities to participate in events that will motivate and support you.

Callie shares about how deep self-reflection helped her let go of limiting beliefs that were stopping her from moving towards future goals.

It is hard to let go when something seems unfair, like waiting for an explanation or an apology. Life teaches us lessons in many ways and sometimes it is the lesson of moving on without the resolution we want.

This episode lays out how overcoming the feeling of being treated unfairly freed Callie from pursuing future goals because she realized she also needed to acknowledge her own responsibilities. Your present mindset has to align with your future desires in order for you to move forward.

There will be more opportunities to connect with Callie and receive support coming up in the future. Follow and connect on Youtube, Facebook or Instagram. Take advantage of seeing Callie live as she is one of the dynamic speakers at the "I Am What’s Possible" conference in Nashville, TN in August 2025. You will leave changed.

In Episode 42, "Shaping a Life You Love," Jo Jo turns several small (but powerful) actions into questions you can ask yourself. You can shape a life you love, and just like a relationship, that love can grow. Shaping a life you love does not mean you aren't content now, it is just an opportunity to fine-tune, grow, and demonstrate taking action to yourself and those around you.

Shaping a Life You Love

  1. Be true to yourself
  2. Heal
  3. Know your motivation
  4. Know your potential
  5. Know your ideal schedule
  6. Manage your finances
  7. Be generous
  8. Ask for help
  9. Prepare for the life you want
  10. Expect opportunities

In this episode, Jo Jo shares about how she deals with disappointment and what she learned about herself from a week of repeated disappointments. Disappointment is temporary, and sometimes you are the one doing the disappointing. But it doesn’t have to stay that way. You can reposition your time and your perspective on situations, so that you can show up for yourself and for those who matter most around you.

Disappointment is not the end, just an opportunity to reflect. It is a part of reality that we have to have a plan for and be aware of what disappointment is telling us about ourselves, our goals, and the people we interact with. Be sure to share how you reflected on a disappointing moment and readjusted or turned it into a win.

In “Who Are You, Really?” Jo Jo takes the time to share how she emotionally balances being a parent and pursuing her dreams. There is no balancing act because she loves being a parent and her children reflect back what she has poured in to them.

It isn’t the same for every person and that is okay. In a world where we are told we aren’t enough in many ways such as careers, relationships and parenting, Jo Jo is sharing how you don’t have to miss out on who you really are, not matter how you identify first.

It is so important to live in the "now" with loved ones and your community. In this episode Jo Jo talks about how she and her family have worked together to center themselves, so that life feels like the holidays more often. Setting the intention to live and love is so important.

The most important goal of the year is spreading the love and community support that is shown around the Christmas season all year round. One idea is “Christmas in June” where the world could ramp up the joy, love and giving in the middle of the year, and not wait a full 12 months. People are always in need.

With these priorities, there are so many successes, large and small. Jo Jo invites you to share your successes via email info@jojosdance.com, Instagram @jojos.dance or connect on her personal Facebook Page: Callie Rich Neal or @jojosdancestudio

The pay off of being adventurous. My experience in Colombia was not just an attempt at passing my resume, but to grow artistically and culturally.

I have always had a love for Spanish speakers and the Spanish language, so it was only fitting that I took my sense of exploration down to South America for three months.

This week will conclude an interview with one of my now dearest friends, Camilo Calderon. What a wonderful time of questions and answers about our cultures, thoughts and education.

I will be forever grateful for Camilo’s enthusiastic willingness to help me set up people to interview so that I could compile what I learned and saw into a documentary about dance in the community.

What I heard most through these interviews was about the space people create to make room for dance in their lives, which actually makes room for stress relief and community connections!

I know you will enjoy this interview as much as I did!
