Christopher
Christopher is a lay theologian in the Greek Catholic Church of Ukraine. As a layman who has worked on the front lines throughout COVID-19, he offers a unique perspective on living. Join his weekly podcast on the ups and downs of life from someone who served as a first responder and chaplain, and from someone who has graduate degrees in business, education, and theology. Christopher offers a direct, witty, and simple approach to discussing questions and topics we all wonder about. In his weekly show, he talks about life, death, and everything in-between (and after) from his experience as a former atheist and one of America’s bravest. In addition to his weekly show, he will be offering beginner-friendly lecture series on aspects of the Christian worldview. Also, join him for special episodes as he interviews other people with similarly unique life stories.

Welcome to the Ukrainian Fire Chaplain Show ’s series: “The (Ukrainian Catholic) Catechism In (less than) A Year”! This daily study series of the Ukrainian Greek Catholic Church (UGCC)—the largest of all the Eastern Catholic Churches—is scheduled to begin after Easter of 2023.
The 33-Week “Study Plan,” an outline of daily readings schedule for our series, and the FREE PDF of the catechism "Christ Our Pascha" can be found on our website:

In part one of each episode, Christopher will present a short reading (about 10 minutes) from Christ Our Pascha, the Ukrainian Catholic Catechism. In part two of each episode, Christopher will typically share a short explanation (about 10 minutes) of the reading with some practical insights and inspiration.
Our Ukrainian catechism offers answers to the most profound questions about the meaning and purpose of life. It also offers wisdom and perspective on the Catholic Faith, Sacraments, and Morals from a uniquely Eastern Catholic understanding and experience of Christianity.
The study plan will follow the layout of "Christ Our Pascha", which was written in three principal parts:
(1-GREEN) The Faith of the Church,
(2-BLUE) The Prayer of the Church, and
(3-YELLOW) The Life of the Church.
Additionally, there are two other short segments of the series:
(A-ORANGE) an introduction with the study of the Anaphora of St Basil and
(B-GREY) a summary section with key beliefs and specific Byzantine prayers.
We look forward to journeying with you through our catechism!
Christopher is a lay theologian in the St. Josaphat Eparchy of Parma, Ohio. Christopher holds three graduate degrees, including one from Byzantine Catholic Seminary. He also has a cross-trained background in public safety and public safety instruction. He has served as a lay chaplain in a busy ER during COVID-19. He is producing this catechism study series with the support and blessing of the head of the Commission for the Catechism of the Ukrainian Greek-Catholic Church.
