God absolutely will uncover our pride because that must be removed if we are to make to the Celestial City. Source
Like King Asa, we can begin with a humble heart and even see God move in great power in our lives, but we can allow ourselves to become so hardened by pride that we stubbornly refuse to seek God, and ultimately die in bitterness. Source

We are just like the Israelites and we will determine, by whether we choose to obey God’s commands, to allow the blessings of God to permeate our lives or the curses will begin to come upon us. Source

We can easily get off track in our walk with Jesus when we focus either on the past or the future, which leads us into taking control of our lives again as we begin once again to believe the lies of the devil. Source

God's heart is to allow this crushing to allow the flowing out to others in self-sacrificing love. Source
