[Originally aired 3/2/26] Stand Up For The Truth features Dave Wager teaching solo, walking listeners through what he calls “four old lessons” from the book of Job, anchored by 1 Peter 5:8, the warning to stay alert because the devil prowls like a roaring lion. Dave frames the whole conversation around “principles” versus opinions, perspectives, or methods. Principles do not change, regardless of feelings or culture, and Job’s story is used as a clear example. On this edition of SUFTT – Headlines, Tim and Mary talk about all the ways and means put before us to make choices. Hopefully godly ones, and choices that can make for our peace – or steal it outright. And watching the news generally brings only one of those to fruition every hour of every day. People can of course choose to tune it all out, but then there is the danger of not knowing what or how to choose according to a proper worldview, and understanding more about what NOT to do. It’s complicated in a way, but finding that balance between knowing and not knowing is often very difficult and can steal our joy and energy. Today we look at the idea of free will and why some say that humans are so depraved they can’t choose anything having to do with eternity. We look at the religion of the day: tolerance. And the end game, which is the more the culture becomes tolerant, the more they marginalize Christians who appear to be INtolerant but in reality only point up the intolerance of the culture. We look at the increasing inroads of Islam and the ignition point of Europe today: France. A full hour of headline – choices.

Today is a special teaching from host Dave Wager. He slows down the Christmas story and reads Luke 2:1–21, letting the details land, Caesar’s decree, Joseph and Mary’s trip to Bethlehem, the manger, the angel’s announcement, the sky filled with praise, and the shepherds rushing in to see what God had made known. From there, Dave brings in reflections from V. Raymond Edmond’s 1960 book Wiser Than They Thought, using imagined conversations and scenes to help us picture what it may have felt like for real people to be standing in the middle of something they could not fully explain. The shepherds are shown as working a routine night shift when heaven interrupts it, and Dave uses that to challenge listeners to stop assuming God only works in “big moments.” He can move in the middle of the normal day, if we’re paying attention.
As the program continues, Dave connects the shepherds’ encounter to other “windows into eternity” in Scripture. He points to Luke 15, where Jesus says there is joy before the angels of God over one sinner who repents, and he turns that into a simple, personal appeal: heaven is not bored, and your response to Christ matters. He also leans on Luke 16’s account of Lazarus and the rich man to underline the seriousness of eternity and the hope of being carried home by God’s provision, not by our own goodness. He returns again and again to the heart of Christmas: God does not need us, but He wants us, love invites a real choice, and salvation is a gift purchased by Jesus, the baby in the manger who became the man of the cross. The closing takeaway is clear, Christmas is not a seasonal story, it’s a fact that changes life now, and it calls each listener to respond to Christ with faith and obedience.

In today’s NEW PODCAST, Bible teacher Dave Wager walks through what it really means to give thanks “with all our heart” to the God who provides everything we enjoy. Starting from Psalm 9:1, he explains that true thankfulness needs a Person as its object, not just things. Hope, love, and gratitude all have to be directed somewhere, and for the Christian that “somewhere” is ultimately God. Dave contrasts our American abundance with the deep joy and generosity he witnessed in a poor African village, where believers gladly shared their only meal with him and pointed every ounce of gratitude back to the Lord’s daily provision. Their example forced him to confess how casual and shallow his own thanksgiving had often been, even while living with full cupboards and constant comfort.
From there, Dave draws a line from Scripture to our own Thanksgiving tables, reminding us that it is God who gives life, safety, health, work, family, and even the heritage of our national Thanksgiving celebration. He unpacks passages like 1 Thessalonians 5:16–18 and Philippians 4:6, showing that God’s will for His people is to rejoice always, pray without ceasing, and give thanks in everything, including hardship. Using Job, Habakkuk, and the history of the pilgrims, he shows how trials expose our dependence and highlight God’s faithfulness. Above all, Dave centers the conversation on the gospel, calling listeners to thank God for His “indescribable gift” in Jesus Christ, who died so we could be adopted into God’s family. This Thanksgiving, he urges us to remember that God does not need us, but He wants us, and to respond with lives that gratefully point every good gift back to the Giver.

Of course anyone who affirms God’s one-man-one-woman plan for marriage knows this is progressive mumbo jumbo that discriminates against the truth. We discuss Wisconsin’s voucher plan changes and much more as we look at life, liberty and God’s revealed plan for how a moral society functions best.

One exists in the here-and-now; the other exists in the unknown future and can be a true relationship killer when we presume what we deserve. The opposite of appreciation is insensitivity, disrespect, callousness, and disapproval. We talk about our responsibilities in the area of hard won freedom and also how to pray for our leaders, when often we neglect this responsibility because of the compromise of the politicians. More and more, Christians are allowing politics to shape their worldview and the practices of the church, causing divisions among the brethren. There may come a time that we need to ask ourselves if we have become disciples of a particular political tribe rather than disciples of Christ – at the very least measurable in the amount of time we spend on either.
In his thoughtful article, “Render to God what is God’s: Reflecting Christ in Politics”, James says, “When God’s people take up causes, we run the risk of those causes distorting our vision of God. We run the risk of justifying our pursuit of the cause by making the cause an idol and tying God to it. When this happens, we no longer act as if we believe that His ways are beyond our ways, or that His thoughts are beyond our thoughts. God conforms to us. We then determine how the problems we face must be solved and God no longer directs. He becomes a resource rather than a ruler.” Join us for a timely chat on what it means to count all things loss for the excellence of knowing Christ.

Paul Blair was drafted by the Chicago Bears in 1986 playing under Coach Mike Ditka and alongside Hall of Famers Walter Payton, Dan Hampton, and Mike Singletary. At the age of 37, Paul Blair was called into full-time ministry. His passion is for the salvation of souls and also the restoration of Godly morality and decency in America.
In 2008, Pastor Blair was one of the original 33 pastors that worked with the Alliance Defense Fund on Pulpit Freedom Sunday challenging the constitutionality of the 1954 Johnson Amendment. The number of pastors participating has increased every year since with over 1600 participating in 2012. Following the 2012 Pulpit Freedom Sunday, the IRS admitted that churches are tax exempt and do not require approval or a letter of exemption from the IRS.

Once again using religious language and once again calling evil good, Joe Biden recently suggested that those who want to protect children from transgender surgeries are evil. He said it’s terrible, close to sin, as if he even had a clue about God, sin, and morality.
In response, Florida Governor, Ron DeSantis released a graphic video showing the gruesome effects of trans surgeries – physical, emotional, financial, and psychological damage the Biden administration calls a “right.
What did Ron DeSantis do? After Biden called the governor’s policies ‘cruel,’ he retweeted the Biden video exposing how radical the Left in America has become. DeSantis added:
“It is not ‘sinful’ to prohibit the mutilation of minors. It is not acceptable for the federal government to mandate that procedures like sex change operations be allowed for kids.”
The video showed the tragic scars and side-effects left on girls and boys by butchers and groomers behind the propaganda leading to a huge spike in transgender surgeries. If you promote or celebrate this cultural confusion and delusion, you are part of the problem.
Recently introduced Florida House Bill 1421 states that “a physician may not perform or provide gender clinical interventions to a minor,” including “sex reassignment surgeries or any other surgical procedures that alter primary or secondary sexual characteristics” and “puberty blocking, hormone, and hormone antagonistic therapies.”
In the new approach by the Biden Democrats to reach religious Americans who are ignorant of biblical teachings on sin, it seems clear they are pulling out all the stops in order to target those who oppose their extreme ideologies.
David Closson, with Family Research Council’s Center for Biblical Worldview states:
“Ironically, the Florida bill, not the president’s position, is in line with historic Christian sexual ethics and a biblical understanding of sex and gender,” Closson added. “The very first chapter in the Bible makes it clear that God’s design for His image bearers is that we are born male and female, and that this design is good and ought to be acknowledged and embraced.”
And yet, some could care less about truth, biology, or God’s design. Democrats have drawn a line in the sand, and this should be a campaign issue leading up to the 2024 national elections.
On International Women’s Day last week, First Lady Jill Biden and Secretary of State Antony Blinken gave out “International Women of Courage” awards. You guessed it, they presented one to a man, I mean, a biological male named Alba Rueda, an LGBTQ activist from Argentina.
Biden proudly announced his support for federal legislation requiring states to allow hormone treatments and sex change operations for “transgender kids.” He said access to trans medical procedures should qualify as a basic civil right. This is your government. Democrats, this is your party; own it.
The Stream’s Gary Bauer points out the leader of the free world went on Comedy Central’s The Daily Show recently – at a time when there’s “a banking crisis, a border crisis, a crime crisis, the opioid crisis, an inflation crisis, an environmental disaster in East Palestine, Ohio, and a war spiraling out of control in Europe…”
And what issue is making headlines from that fun time with Democrat comedians? Biden is “really, really, really, very, very opposed” to state laws protecting young children from mutilating, life-changing surgeries.
Bauer writes:
This is a guy who gets up every morning trying to figure out how he can guarantee more dead innocent babies through abortion on demand.
This is a guy who routinely commits the sin of fomenting racial discord.
This is a guy who lies over and over again, even after he’s corrected.
Satan is the father of lies and comes only to kill, steal, and destroy.
Unfortunately for the delusion-driven reprobates on the left, we are now seeing more and more “detransitioners” full of regret and often serious medical or physical complications.
American citizens who voted Democrat are complicit, the education system and many in the media are complicit, and doctors who perform the sex surgeries on healthy young girls and boys are complicit.
As journalist, Christopher Rufo says, the transgender child has become a new totem to the Left. Biden has it backwards because the reality is it is sinful to put kids on the path to permanent medicalization and irreversible surgeries.
Rufo states:
We’re castrating kids in service of a political ideology that uses them as totems to move humanity into the new left-wing metaphysics. It’s something that we’re going to see in the next few years yielding horrific consequences, dystopian consequences, because it’s fundamentally at war with the reality of the universe, the reality of human nature. It cannot stand.
They are in rebellion, at war with the God of Truth. Sadly, for too many Americans it doesn’t matter that the left has gone this far or overplayed their hand. Keep voting for whoever has a “D” in front of their name.
As for the silence of the majority, few seemed to notice or care during the 2020 election cycle when Joe Biden kept implying those on the right were evil, often referring to a country-wide conflict, a “Battle for the Soul of the Nation.”
This epic, intensifying end-times battle is between the forces of darkness and those who stand against the onslaught of evil. Those who claim the name of Christ must resist. Parents must resist. Responsible citizens must resist. We must take this literally: Lives and souls truly are at stake.

The number of pastors participating has increased every year since with over 1600 participating in 2012. Following the 2012 Pulpit Freedom Sunday, the IRS admitted that churches are tax exempt and do not require approval or a letter of exemption from the IRS.

The World Boxing Council is asking transgender boxers to come forward and plans to introduce a transgender category next year.
Group President Mauricio Sulaiman told The Telegraph this week that it’s time for boxing to address issues of “safety and inclusion.”
“We are going to put out a global call for those who are interested in 2023, and we will set up the protocols, start consultation and most likely create a league and a tournament,” Sulaiman said.
Sulaiman also said he and other council members are looking to “enhance” boxing “as well as to protect the health and well-being of all boxers – above any interest.”
However, it’s unclear what the guideline would be for qualifying to compete in such a category, considering Sulaiman also said, “In boxing, a man fighting a woman must never be accepted regardless of gender change.”
He also said: “Woman to man or man to woman transgender change will never be allowed to fight a different gender by birth.”
