This week I’m joined by the incredible Roberto Hoshieh, exceptional personal trainer, founder of Born Dared and model for the likes of DSQUARED2 and Gymshark.

Roberto told me about his childhood and how he came to England at 11 years old with his family from Transylvania, knowing no English at the time. Since then, Roberto has worked extremely hard to rise through the ranks as a model who works around the world for some of the most reputable clothing brands in the industry.

His real passion however is fitness; Roberto was a keen footballer and had his goals set on a professional career as a youngster. He went on to tell me about how he burned himself out and snapped his ACL, ending his football career. He later found a love for personal training and (in contrast to most other trainers) he told me why he won’t start online coaching. Alongside modelling and personal training Roberto has founded Born Dared, a company aiming to help fitness models secure opportunities and receive coaching.

Due to his busy lifestyle, Roberto admitted it can be hard finding time to pursue a relationship and that he feels he struggles to find the ‘right’ person for him. With this being said, Roberto is a big family man and told me about the immense love he has for his family and those closest to him.

Thank you Roberto for sharing your story with me, I hope you guys love this one…

This week I have the pleasure of talking to Tom Pearson, personal trainer turned online coach and owner of Flip Physiques.

Tom is a true grafter and his current success reflects this massively. At only 22, Tom is an extremely successful online coach and talked to me about having to make a tough decision to drop his commitment to high level golfing in pursuit of his current career.

We also talked about burnout, with Tom telling me that by the age of 19 he suffered from chronic fatigue due to working 12-16 hour days regularly. Knowing things needed to change, and valuing better lifestyle over financial gains, Tom took the plunge into online coaching and things have clearly paid off.

Tom has some insane plans for the future, both for himself and his business and I can’t wait to see him progress even further. This is an absolute must listen for any young people wanting to start a career in personal training.

Thank you Tom for sharing your story with me!

This week I’m joined by Adam Thompson, entrepreneur and owner of Consider Energy.

Given the current cost of living crisis, I’m sure many of you will be interested to know Adam’s take on the situation and how to save money with your energy bills. Aside from being an energy saving expert, Adam had a lot of wisdom to shed about setting up his first business and how it isn’t always smooth sailing.

Adam went to Huddersfield University and talked to me about when he had his first taste of entrepreneurship after opening a pasta shop. Today, Adam owns multiple businesses and has been around the block a few times so had some really great advice for anyone starting out as a young entrepreneur.

I’m sure this podcast will be incredibly useful to any business owners out there who are feeling anxious about the future and the ever rising cost of running a business. I hope you guys love this one as much as I did…

This week I am joined by the fantastic Erika Maybury, entrepreneur and owner of Hollywood Creative Agency.

Despite still being young, Erika has already achieved so much in her career and that could be due to the fact she has been independent and driven since being a teenager. Erika told me about how she attended networking events by herself at age 19 and had no issue with spending time by herself working on her passions while her friends were out partying.

Erika has a lot of wisdom to share around topics like burnout, whether she would hire her friends or not, what activities she does in order to chill out and so much more. We also go on to talk about the importance of logo and branding for businesses and why she doesn’t think you should scrimp when it comes to design work.

I absolutely loved this chat and I felt we had so much more to talk about- so if you guys want a second episode, let me know!

This week I have had the pleasure of sitting down with Kay Dyson A.K.A Miss Magic. Kay is a female magician who has risen through the ranks, appearing on shows such as I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here, Richard & Judy and Lorraine as well as working on cruise ships, festivals and events.

I was so interested in finding out how Kay came to be where she is today. She told me about how she faced some adversity when she was younger being the only female personal trainer for a well known football player, how she joined the circus (yep- you read that right!) and traveled the world before suffering a debilitating injury after falling during one of her performances.

Despite being extremely successful today, it’s not always been easy for Kay. It’s not all glitz and glamour as a career in magic means working anti-social hours and often having to miss out on spending time with friends and family, this is something Kay knows all too well and told me about how she suffered from burn-out to the point that she couldn’t even get out of bed and complete simple tasks. Thankfully, Kay overcame her struggles and gave me some advice on how to prevent burn-out and achieve a better work life balance.

I thoroughly enjoyed having this conversation and I know this will be so useful for anyone who is struggling to find their path in life, struggling with burn-out or even interested in a career in magic!

This week I was fortunate enough to sit down and chat with Ben Wright- local businessman and owner of Waves, an alternative provision group based in Slaithwaite.

Ben (as well as having the same name) is very similar to me as he admitted he often struggles to switch off from work. This has been something Ben has spent a lot of time working on and has now developed strategies to help him switch off and be present in the moment, particularly with his loved ones.

The work Ben does alongside his team at Waves is absolutely fantastic, and I find his work ethic and passion for the job completely inspirational. But as you’ll hear over the course of the podcast, it hasn’t always been easy for Ben and his success has come with many struggles.

Thank you Ben for giving me your time, I hope you guys love this one…

This week I was lucky enough to sit down with fellow podcaster and personal trainer Danny Williams. Those of you who watch Love Island may recognise him from series 5 of the show, broadcasted in 2019.

Danny is from Hull originally and spent his younger years working as a bartender before being scouted by a modelling agency. He then spent a few years modelling before being invited to try out for Love Island. Danny talks to me about how he initially turned down the offer from Love Island, how he had a chaotic arrival onto the show and whether he would do it now as an older, wiser version of himself.

What I absolutely love about Danny is his complete humility. In contrast to some stereotypical views of models or reality TV stars, Danny has clearly spent a lot of time working on himself, his self-worth and self-esteem and developing holistic opinions on topics like work life balance, what success is to him and everything in between. I learned so much from the things Danny said and have been trying to implement it into my day to day life.

I really enjoyed this conversation and I think it will be so useful for anyone struggling to find themselves or their path in life at the moment. Thank you Danny for sitting down and having this conversation with me!

On this week’s podcast, I was lucky enough to sit down with David Lister- a top divorce lawyer and the first person ever to represent both parties in a divorce case.

David opened up to me about having some negative childhood experiences, how he manages to balance a high pressure job and spending time with his family and his new passion project- the local Italian restaurant he owns and runs.

I absolutely loved talking to David and feel as though he shared some wisdom that is relevant to everyone, whether it's parenting, running your own business or doing things you're passionate about. I hope you enjoy this one as much as I did...

I was lucky enough to steal an hour from Jamie’s busy schedule to sit down and talk to him about the rapid growth and success of his business - Elevate Agency, his personal life and plans for the future.

Jamie started his career as a college teacher and although he enjoyed it, realised there was opportunity and money to be made in the fitness industry. Jamie’s brothers- Lewis and Owen Harrison have been renowned fitness figures for many years and Jamie saw an opportunity to work with them and offer online coaching and transformation packages. The trio now work in partnership with fellow fitness influencer Joss Mooney and offer business set ups to other personal trainers.

This has been a whirlwind experience for Jamie, as his business is still relatively young and it has seen major growth and success in the few years it has been running. He talked to me about his reaction to earning five figures in one day, how he’s dealing with the daily stressors of running a business and how he finds working alongside his family.

However, life hasn’t always been easy for Jamie. He opened up to me about the tragic loss of his newborn child and how that has influenced the person he is today.

It was an absolute pleasure having this conversation and I hope you all enjoy it as much as I did…

This week I was lucky enough to sit down and chat with Tyler Kane: Father, personal trainer and owner of Real Life Health and Fitness.

Tyler didn't have the greatest start to life and told me how he could have been led down a very different path if he didn't decide to become a personal trainer in his 20's. Despite this, he is a massive family man and will do anything to look after and provide the people he loves.

Like myself, Tyler now owns two gyms with plans to open a third in the future and has been in the fitness industry long enough to have some pretty strong opinions about personal training, nutrition and coaching.

Tyler's energy and passion for his businesses was contagious and I couldn't think of better first guest to have on this podcast.

I hope you enjoy this one, I certainly did...
