Host Liz Lawless shares a Distribution Secret to Publishing Success … Churches. Approaching a church differs from approaching a bookstore, library, or corporation. Again, your audience is critical when talking to churches. Is your book for children, youth, adults, women, men, or a mixed audience? There are different levels of leadership in a church (big churches have staff). Then, you also have different denominations, and they all handle things differently. So, when you contact a denomination, you need to know something about them before calling, so be sure to do your research if you don’t have personal experience.

Host Russ Johns will share some Summer Marketing Secrets. We are halfway through the year. Have you evaluated your marketing strategies for the next six months? You need to be thinking about Christmas promotions now.
Host Liz Lawless will interview Author Rev. Dr. Fran Tilton Shelton about her books No Winter Lasts Forever: A Memoir of Loving Bob and Loathing Alzhemier’s and The Spirituality of Grief: 10 Practices for Those Who Remain.
No Winter Lasts Forever is a first-hand account of loving and living with Alzheimer’s. It shares the shock, disbelief, anger, pain, joy, humor, grief, and finally letting go. It is the story of trusting in God and living in the moment while being grateful for every day.
The Spirituality of Grief honors the complex nature of grief and offers simple comfort: we are not alone, and there is no one right way to grieve. A spiritual director, pastor, and co-founder of a grief non-profit walks us through the questions gathered after a loved one's death.
Fran is the matriarch of her blended family of four children and their spouses and five grandchildren. She's got the courage to take deep finesses in duplicate bridge, stamina to be a member of four book clubs, and a spirit for life that sparks contagious laughter. She facilitates bereavement workshops and spiritual retreats, preaches, and teaches in congregations and at conferences. For over twenty-five years, she served PC(USA) congregations in Texas, primarily in pastoral care. She is an Austin Presbyterian Theological Seminary graduate (MDiv 1993 and DMin 2007).

Hosts Liz Lawless and Russ Johns welcome Christian Fiction Author Carol S. Lacey.
Host Russ Johns will share a Marketing Secret. Any author can create a simple Newsletter to capture emails, build community, and support ongoing publishing activities.
Host Liz Lawless will interview Author Carol S. Lacey about her second book in The Snare of the Fowler Series: Whom The Son Sets Free, launching this week on Amazon and other platforms. Listen to Episode 10 to get the scoop about Book 1, Ensnared by Evil, based on Acts 16. The Series follows the heroine, Daphne, a young Greek girl destined to follow in her family’s legacy of Apollo Temple Worship. Still, she’s beginning to hear about a new religion with a more benevolent God and a son named Jesus. When her father dies, her family is sold into slavery, and she enters a new world. In Book 2, she is taken on a ship from Delphi to Philippi, where she must learn to be a fortune teller or risk terrifying consequences. Check out Whom The Son Sets Free and follow Daphne as she meets friends and foes in this new life as a slave. Book 3, Free Indeed, will debut in Fall 2023.
It’s easy to forget people mentioned in the Bible were real people with a back story just as real as ours. Her account covers only a few verses in Acts, but the outcome that followed was enough to make me wonder what brought her to this sad condition. Did she have a family? How did she become a slave? The work is fiction, but commentaries agree she had an evil spirit of Apollo or Apollonian, a spirit of divination. Research led me to begin her life in Delphi, Greece, where kings and ordinary people sought wisdom for generations in Apollo’s most prestigious temple known for its divination. After that, I let my imagination free, and the muse led me to Philippi, where she encountered the Apostle Paul and his followers. Book 3 is the final book, where Daphne will risk it all to share her new hope with the people of her homeland.
Carol lives in South-West Michigan, where when she’s not blogging or writing, she loves to spend time with her children and grandchildren or walk, play golf, quilt, or read. She developed and taught Bible studies for women for years and has been published in many Christian magazines. She loves to travel. An extended trip to Greece included Delphi and its Apollo temple, Athens, where the Parthenon overshadowed the ancient city, and Philippi, where the ruins of the Roman stronghold and Paul’s prison brought depth to the series she has written.

Josay learns to navigate this dangerous and challenging landscape by risk-taking and using talents she never knew she possessed. Hosts Liz Lawless and Russ Johns will be talking football and America’s team as they welcome co-authors Burk Murchinson and Michael Granberry, who wrote Hole In The Roof: The Dallas Cowboys, Clint Murchinson Jr., & the Stadium That Changed American Sports Forever. Hole in the Roof chronicles Murchison’s founding of an extraordinary sports franchise and his battles to build the stadium he wanted. Along the way, this book provides not only a sweeping biography of Clint Jr., a history of the Cowboys from before their inception in 1960 until now (including Jerry Jones), and a history of Texas Stadium, but also a critical look at how Clint's original concept of the stadium has been corrupted—by greed and avarice.

Hosts Liz Lawless and Russ Johns welcome Horror Author Brian Moreland just in time for Halloween.
Host Russ Johns will share an Online Marketing Secret … choose your social media carefully based on your audience.
Host Liz Lawless will interview Author Brian Moreland about his numerous books, which include Shadows in the Mist, Dead of Winter, The Seekers, Darkness Rising, The Witching House, Tomb of Gods, The Devil’s Woods, and Savage Island.
Brian has been writing suspenseful fiction for over 30 years. His passion for horror developed at a young age while watching classic monster movies like Dracula, Frankenstein, The Wolfman, and The Creature from the Black Lagoon. He read comic books, too, but preferred Tales from the Crypt and Swamp Thing. Then he discovered the thrill of seeing deeply terrifying movies at the theater; he discovered horror novels Stephen King's Night Shift and Clive Barker's Books of Blood.
During college, he wrote his first novel, but it took hundreds of rejections and 18 years to publish it, Shadows in the Mist. With each rejection, he maintained his optimism that he would eventually get published. He ended up self-publishing his first book, Shadows, but the success of that book landed him a literary agent and mass market book deal with Berkley-Penguin and foreign rights with a German publisher. After that, he had successful years with other publishers.
Brian writes with a cinematic style. Because of his perfectionism (writing over 100 drafts) and extensive research, some books have taken over two years to write. After years of writing and research, Brian's historical Egyptian archaeology adventure novel Tomb of Gods came out in 2020, and his newest novella, Savage Island, was released in June 2021. His alien-monster short story "Incident on Saddle Road" was released in the anthology Midnight from Beyond the Stars in September 2021. Hosts Liz Lawless and Russ Johns welcome Romance Author Jean Maxwell.
Host Liz Lawless will share a Marketing Secret. What kind of collateral materials still work exceptionally well? Liz will be sharing the three key collaterals that every author needs.
Host Russ Johns will interview Author Jean Maxwell about her book Spanish Seduction Series …
Jean Maxwell writes contemporary romance novels and is a true artist at heart. She believes she came out of the womb with a pencil in hand and began drawing very early. A Northern Alberta Institute of Technology graduate in Engineering Design and MacEwan University's Design Arts program, she switched from draftsman to graphic artist in her early career. But the muses would not keep silent, eventually coercing her to write her first romantic suspense novel, El Mirador, which launched her Spanish Seduction Series. Spanish Seduction Series … A multi-generational saga of passion, vision, and the legacy of a family business. Engineer Tristan Flynn meets and marries young Marlena Sanchez while traveling through Spain as a backpacking undergrad, eventually establishing Flynn Enterprises, a multi-billion dollar engineering firm. The series follows the lives and loves of their offspring, colleagues, and descendants, each bringing their passions to the Flynn dynasty, crisscrossing oceans, continents, and racial boundaries. This 3-book volume includes El Mirador, El Precio: The Price of Passion, and the prequel Incendio: The Flames of Passion.

Hosts Liz Lawless and Russ Johns welcome Christian Fiction Author Carol S. Lacey.
Host Russ Johns will share a Launching Secret. Any author can create a simple Book Launch Funnel to help support their book launch, and today, Russ will tell you how to do just that.
Host Liz Lawless will interview Author Carol S. Lacey about her new Christian fiction series The Snare of the Fowler and Book 1 release Ensnared By Evil, based on the story of the Sorceress and the Apostle Paul in Acts 16.
The first book in the Series introduces you to the sometimes-frenzied world of Daphne, the demon-possessed slave girl. It’s easy to forget people mentioned in the Bible were real people with a back story just as real as ours. Her account covers only a few verses, but the outcome that followed was enough to make me wonder what brought her to this sad condition.
Carol lives in southwest Michigan, where she loves to spend time with her children and grandchildren, walk, play golf, quilt, or read when she's not blogging or writing. She developed and taught Bible studies for women for years and has been published in many Christian magazines. She loves to travel. An extended trip to Greece included Delphi and its Apollo temple, Athens, where the Parthenon overshadowed the ancient city, and to Philippi, where the ruins of the Roman stronghold and Paul’s prison brought depth to the series she has written.

What will she do when she finds out who Adam is? Hosts Liz Lawless and Russ Johns welcome Author Sara Sewell

Today Host Russ Johns will share 2 Types of Writing and the Secret that is critical to one of them. This is a secret that Best-Selling Authors know that many potential authors do not know or consider until later in their publishing journey:
* Writing for Fun * Writing for Profit

Writing Secret ... Writing for Fun or Writing for Profit? Writing for fun is fine and a worthwhile exercise for creativity, skill building and at times personal healing. Writing for Profit on the other hand demands different decisions and Best-Selling Authors know the secret that if you want to be a successful author you must approach it as a business by creating a budget and investing time, energy and yes ... money. Saving can be done while you are writing.

Host Liz Lawless will interview Author Sara Sewell about her new book “Because No One Asked … Healing Through Telling” launching October 2nd. By suppressing her memories, Sara survived childhood trauma to go on and create a successful life but the rules she decided on as a child had a profound effect on her adult decisions which she did not realize until she experienced panic attacks, which led to therapy which revealed her trauma and led to here becoming aware of why she made certain choices both good and bad.
