I had a unique perspective as a Military wife and led to my desire in helping spouses, military members, first responders and veterans. I also gained experience working with clients from young children as a teacher and school counselor onward in play therapy, couples therapy, family therapy, domestic violence and group therapy. I provided counseling services in nursing homes and personal experience with care giving, grief and burnout. During my student internship I was at the Glick House at Texas Wesleyan University.

Jeremy Edge, LPC, IGDC is the owner and founder of the counseling practice, Escapingthe.com, PLLC. Jeremy is an International Gaming Disorder Certified counselor which is the leading certification for working with people with Gaming Disorder. He's also obtained the Digital Wellness Certificate through the Digital Wellness Institute. He provides counseling services to help clients experience balanced, healthy screen use.

After personally experiencing the negative effects of problematic gaming, Jeremy devoted his work to helping those recover from problematic and disordered screen use. In addition to problematic screen use, Jeremy works well with men of all ages and his team works with teens, young adults, adults, and families.

He received his Master’s degree in Community Counseling at UT San Antonio and Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from UT Tyler.

In this episode of "What the Feels", we are talking about the Disney Pixar film, "Monsters, Inc." with friend and fellow therapist, Shayna Hill.

Shayna is a trained multicultural counselor who honors diversity and broaches it therapeutically. We are all dealt a special hand that shapes how we experience the world and how the world sees us. She affirms the identities that are important to clients (race, gender, sexuality, religion, culture, nationality, etc.) and uses it as needed in the healing process.

Shayna earned her Master of Arts in Professional Counseling with an emphasis on multiculturalism from the University of Colorado in Denver. She also received a bachelor's degree from the University of Texas in Austin in 2010. While in Colorado, Shayna interned at the Gender Identity Center of Colorado and the Counseling Center at the University of Colorado Denver. In Texas, she has worked in the private practice setting and at eating disorder facilities in the PHP and IOP level of care.

Shayna is a native Texan and loves music, cats/animals, singing, rain showers, and spending time with family.

In this episode of "What the Feels", we are talking about the characters of the Harry Potter Franchise with friend and fellow therapist, Kelsey D'Amore.

Kelsey is passionate about supporting children, teens, and adults in the North Texas area. She works with clients of all ages, from as young as three through late adulthood. She is very familiar with competitive sports community in North Texas, playing soccer throughout her entire life on club teams, high school teams, and all four years in her time at Austin College. She enjoys working with clients that play competitive sports and struggle with performance anxiety. ​

When Kelsey is not working, she enjoys traveling, working out, spending time outside, spending time with her dogs, family, and friends, and attending one of her many book clubs. She continues to play sports and makes sure to find time to sweat each day. Kelsey is passionate about Harry Potter, dogs, and all things mental health.

In this episode, we will be discussing Disney's "Frozen 2" with Niki Paulhus. As our second movie in the month of November, which is National Child Grief Awareness Month, we continue on Anna and Elsa's journey of grief and self discovery.

Niki is a Dallas native and is an amazing engineer...and one of Bryna's best friends! She graduated from Southern Methodist University in 2014 with a BS in Mechanical Engineering and Mathematics. Niki currently works as an engineer at Southwest Airlines helping with repairs on planes that are brought in for scheduled maintenance.

In her spare time, Niki volunteers at an organization called Journey of Hope. She helps facilitate a grief support group for families and primarily works with high school students. As Niki's mom died right before she started high school, she tries to pay it forward with the kids at Journey of Hope to show them there are adults out there who do understand what they are going through.
