In the early 20th century, scientists were keen to provide some evidence that would prove the link between early man and apes. In 1912, it seemed the evidence had been found in Piltdown England- when Charles Dawson dug up a human skull with an ape-like jaw. to keep (something) + preposition (location) is way of expressing the normal typical usual location of an item. For example: “I keep my wallet in my pocket” It is a very typical way to talk about the normal placement of an object. We talk about how to use the word "so" in a very interesting way that you have probably never studied in English class or learned from a book and the we practice using it in this new way. The same way "so" is used int he book.

When you use a phrasal verb ending with around, you can usually substitute the word around to the word about and it will mean the same thing. This little trick only works when the word 'around' means. There is no goal purpose or reason for the action. For example Drive around means to drive with no destination. Driving for no special purpose. You can also say drive about and it means the same thing. Walk around means walking just for the reason of walking. Walking for no purpose. You can also say walk about etc.
