In a world where everyones advice is to follow your heart, can you really trust it? 

This week we explore the Word of God about the heart and why it is deceitful above all things and desperately wicked. Your heart can mislead you in more ways than you could imagine. 

Jeremiah 17:9-10 “The heart is deceitful above all things, and desperately wicked: who can know it? I the LORD search the heart, I try the reins, even to give every man according to his ways, and according to the fruit of his doings.”

Proverbs 3:5-7 “Trust in the LORD with all thine heart;

and lean not unto thine own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge him, And he shall direct thy paths.”

Matthew 15:19-21 “For out of the heart proceed evil thoughts, murders, adulteries, fornications, thefts, false witness, blasphemies: These are the things which defile a man: but to eat with unwashen hands defileth not a man. Then Jesus went thence, and departed into the coasts of Tyre and Sidon.”

This week we discuss seasons and trials and where they come from, why they have to happen, what do we do during them and what to expect after them!

Going through a season in the wilderness can be a major challenge, especially if you don’t understand what’s happening. Jesus even told Peter before he entered his season, I have prayed for you during your time in the wilderness, not that it doesn’t happen, but that your faith doesn’t fail.

We must all be reminded that God often allows these seasons and trials, not to sit back and laugh at us, but to see what is in our hearts and to strengthen us. When you are weak, he is strong.

James 1:2-3 Consider it pure joy, my brothers and sisters,[a] whenever you face trials of many kinds, 3 because you know that the testing of your faith produces perseverance.

1 Cor 10:13 No temptation has overtaken you except what is common to mankind. And God is faithful; he will not let you be tempted[b] beyond what you can bear. But when you are tempted,[c] he will also provide a way out so that you can endure it.

Luke 22:31-32 “And the Lord said, Simon, Simon, behold, Satan hath desired to have you, that he may sift you as wheat: but I have prayed for thee, that thy faith fail not: and when thou art converted, strengthen thy brethren.”

Join us for another discussion about forgiveness and specifically forgiving ourselves. 

Just because you forgive others, doesn’t mean you have forgiven yourself. 

Sometimes we condemn ourselves and render ourselves unworthy of forgiveness. But God says differently. Bring your faults and flaws to God, allow him to forgive you and heal you, then 

forgive yourself and be free from bondage!

In world with such instant gratification, anything we want to consume is right at our fingertips. 

We must excel in self control, deciding against things that hurt God or make us "drunk" in pleasure. 

Stop and ask the Lord, is it ok that I am consuming this? 

1 Corinthians 10:23 "All things are permitted, but not all things are profitable. All things are permitted, but not all things build up."
