The Adult Survivors Act is a law that creates a “look back period” for sexual assault and abuse victims over 18 to pursue time-barred claims in court. It opens a one-year window for survivors to bring their cases to court against their abusers, or the institutions that enabled the abuse. It’s a chance for victims to get the justice they have so craved, and be heard. It’s expiring November 24, so you’ll need to act quickly to file. A recent Harvard Business Review article looked at the challenges women of all ages face in the workplace: first, they’re too young to be taken seriously, and then they’re too distracted with family needs, until finally they’re too old to be considered for well-deserved leadership positions. Earlier this summer, five women presenters from the BBC made headlines after going public about being taken off air and told to stay home amid a company restructuring. It's a little spoken of word that will, eventually, afflict every woman: menopause.
Whether it's insomnia, irritability, difficulty concentrating, hair loss, (there are about 30 plus symptoms but you get the idea) menopause can completely transform your life. It can make you feel like a lunatic - and feel less at home in the body you've lived in your whole life.
We're here to tell you we understand - and to advocate for talking about it, because it is NATURAL, and WILL happen to every woman.
Surviving it is the hard part, especially when you're expected to show up for your life at home, and at work. We offer some tips on how to do that, as well as encourage you to TALK about it, because it's real, and it's likely happening to you, or a woman you know.
