This is the final episode of 2022 as we wrap up the 2nd full year of the podcast. I really can’t put in words how thankful I am for each person listening and supporting my show. To send out 2022 with a bang, I sat down to interview the CEO of Professional Hair Labs, Ryan Margolin.

Ryan set out on a journey to help create the world leading product in cosmetic bonding when his mother was poisoned by the harmful chemicals in the hair adhesive products commonly used in the industry. Inspired to keep the same thing from happening to anybody else, his family dove into the research and created their first hair care product free of harmful substances. Now, nearly 20 years later, Ryan is an international business leader and an entrepreneur who works in more than 15 different countries. There, he helps create sustainable services and products in industries full of subpar and even harmful options.

With the help of Ryan’s expertise in effectively taking concepts and formulating strategies for success in multiple different industries, as well as his flexibility, clarity, and dedication to putting people first, Professional Hair Labs has expanded its manufacturing tenfold. The company has also become one of the 500 fastest-growing companies in the US over the last 5 years and has sold more than $50 million in product globally.

Happy New Year! I hope 2023 brings so much success and happiness!

Today I’ve got a quick BONUS episode for you! While I was attending VeeCon in Minneapolis last May, I had an incredible opportunity to meet AJ Vaynerchuk, the brother of Gary Vaynerchuk. I was walking around with some new friends at the Massive Minnesota Meetup Party, which kicked off the start of VeeCon 2022, when we spotted AJ helping out with an entrepreneurial pitch contest. There was a small line of people waiting to say hi to him before the next set of entrepreneurs were set to compete. As we got in line, my friends and I started talking about what we should say to AJ. We all wanted to snap a pic with him, but what should we ask him? I was thinking about saying hi, welcoming him to Minnesota, and then asking him a core question of my podcast: what is your definition of success? I also thought maybe, just maybe, I could hand him one of my podcast business cards and invite him on to the show for an interview in the future. Immediately one of my newfound VeeFriends said, why don’t you just interview him right now? The light bulb went off. That is a perfect idea! I am so thankful that my friend proposed this plan, and now I have a memorable, 5-minute video clip interviewing AJ Vaynerchuk with not one, but three core questions of The Eric Mueller Show. The full video is available on my Instagram (@ericmuellershow) and YouTube.

AJ’s Success Portfolio:

· Work ethic

· Lack of ego

· Effort and willingness to do what is required

What are you curious about? Where does your expertise connect with your curiosity? Today’s guest Allyson Brennan worked full-time as a pharmacist for 15 years before creating a skincare company from the ground up. She saw a need for simpler, purer products with a much greater transparency about ingredients that were safe and effective for everyone. Today’s episode will lay the framework for crafting your own strategic narrative. You’re likely wondering what exactly is a strategic narrative and why do I need one? Enter my guest, Guillaume Wiatr, the Founder of MetaHelm; a consulting firm focused on building strategic narratives for established companies.

As a strategy consultant and leadership coach, he guides CEOs and Founders to align people and accelerate innovation adoption. For Guillaume, traditional business storytelling is dead. Innovation happens when you build a new narrative instead. As he says, "people will pay for a story, but they will die for a narrative." After helping to save a 20M euro venture during the dot-com boom, Guillaume went on a mission to turn every company into a source of inspiration that few can resist.

Since then, he’s been working with startup founders as well as senior executives of companies like Google, Microsoft, Alaska Airlines, The Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation, AIG, L'Oréal, Spencer Stuart, GAP, and the US and French governments. His commitment to education led him to become an instructor and a mentor to young entrepreneurs at the University of Washington, the School of Visual Concepts in Seattle, and Emlyon international business school in France. Guillaume also publishes daily insights in his newsletter–The Next Narrative–where you can find a canvas he designed to get you started with your strategic narrative.

Highlights of the episode:

· The BIG difference between a story and a narrative

· How to frontload value creation in your life & business

Do you love to work out? Do you love to dance? If you answered yes to either of those questions, you are going to love my guest today.

Joseph Corella started dance at the age of seven with extensive training in jazz, tap, contemporary, and ballet. At thirteen, he became a member of famed choreographer Marguerite Derricks’ prestigious dance company, Tremaine Teen Company, and shortly thereafter appeared in Disney’s Geppetto alongside pop superstar Usher. Using his dance, theatre, and fitness background, Joseph has traveled the globe, spreading his love and understanding of the importance of movement and the incredible benefits dancing it out can provide for your body and mind.

Janice Lintz is a passionate, accomplished hearing loss consultant and advocate. She is the CEO of Hearing Access & Innovations, the leading company dedicated to helping the world’s businesses, cultural and entertainment institutions, government agencies, and mass transit organizations improve their accessibility for people with hearing loss. Since 2002, Janice has become the global “go-to” person on all matters related to access for people who are deaf or hard of hearing. Equipped with an undergraduate degree in business, a law degree, and experience as a successful litigator, Janice leverages her broad background to articulate compelling business cases for organizations in both the for-profit and not-for-profit worlds to improve hearing access for customers with hearing loss.

A culture lover, Janice felt her heart sink whenever her daughter – diagnosed with hearing loss at 2 ½ – struggled to understand museum guides and actors on stage, even with hearing aids. Not one to wait, Janice plunged into the research and learned that cultural venues could provide better hearing access with relatively standard technology, such as the induction loop, a coil placed around a room that wirelessly transmits amplified sound to a hearing aid.

Janice works with domestic and international organizations to benchmark best practices and helps clients leverage the most effective solutions for their situations. Working with multiple organizations, she helped the NYC Transit recommend that induction loops be included in all NYC subway information booths and call boxes as part of President Obama’s $13.5 million Stimulus Package. She also worked with the NYC Taxi and Limousine Commission to implement this same technology in all taxis. New York City is the first United States city to offer this technology in its transit systems.

The New York City resident and mother of two is a 2023 Harvard Kennedy School MC/MPA Candidate, 2021 Tell Her She Can’t Changemaker, and 2018 The Points Guy + Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation Goalkeepers Partnership Travel Grant Recipient.

Janice is also a Consumer Education/Travel/Food writer. Thrive Global, The Outdoor Journal, Forbes/Lifestyle, Forbes Woman Africa, Yahoo Travel, Huffington Post, Johnny Jet, and Consumer Mojo published her articles.

She has traveled to 139+3 UN countries and 194 Travelers’ Century Club destinations and is on a quest to visit every country in the world.
