However, we've been told that somebody on that Alliance team is secretly working for the Federation. Time flies when you're having fun, and we're cruising through the end of 1988 in the World Wrestling Federation with Saturday Night's Main Event 18, a show that aired two days after our last one, Survivor Series.
Two titles are up for grabs in this one. In his first Intercontinental Title defense, the Ultimate Warrior takes on the mysterious Super Ninja, and Andre the Giant gets a shot at Macho Man Randy Savage's World Heavyweight Championship.

As we plunge forward into fall, the guys got together to talk about notable falls from grace in the wrestling world. These are guys that had all the hype and the talent and but managed to squander their opportunity in one way or another.
You only thought the Get Off My Lawn special was Spicy…wait until you get a load (ugh yeah) of Episode 60! Hear as the boys exercise the demons, review the Jakks BCA Bad Blood 4-pack, and go through weekly trophies!
In a first event of its kind, every match on this card is contested inside the six sides of steel cage. At least that's what was advertised. However, there is not one standard cage match in the bunch. Instead, we have a tag team match inside of a cage where you have to make tags, a tables match inside of a cage that looks goofy as hell, a strap match inside the cage that neither straps the guys together nor keeps the guys in the cage, a Lethal Lockdown match where team captain Kevin Nash can't participate on Team Nash due to an infection, and a fuckin Prince of Darkness Death Match in a cage. A little too much bullshit in this one, but there are a couple of standout contests between AJ Styles and Abyss for the number one contendership, and Triple X exploding for the X Division title as Fallen Angel Christopher Daniels takes on former partner Elix Skipper.

As we plow through the first year of TNA monthly pay per views, we have a contender for not only the worst show this season, but possibly the worst one that we've ever covered.
It's TNA Destination X 2005, and bullshit is everywhere on this card, with each contest featuring outside interference, incompetent officiating, and not one, but two guys in masks who arrive to save the day. This was a tough watch.
In the main event, Double J takes on DDP, effectively continuing their rivalry from the last year of WCW that we covered. This one is contested in a Ringside Revenge (not Lumberjack) Match.
Elsewhere, we have an the Ultimate X Challenge for the belt featuring three matches in one. We got Abyss taking on Jeff Hardy once again, as well as Raven and The Lone Star Dustin Rhodes.
Finally it appears as if the battle to become Dusty Rhodes' assistant will come to its conclusion as Trinity and Traci send their tag teams into action.
This one was bad, and we really hope that things turn around or else this might be quite the chore moving forward.

The Year of Duke and Rogue is back with a new season and we are beyond thrilled to be done with WCW. We conducted a poll, and the results are in. This time around the guys go where they've never gone before : Total Nonstop Action Wrestling. TNA began a little over a year after the demise of WCW, and during its first two years in existence, they held weekly pay per view events, 111 in total. In the fall of 2004 the company secured a weekly TV deal and started doing a pay per view extravaganza each month, and we will be covering the first 12 of these beginning at Victory Road 2004. Join us on this special preview episode as we make some predictions about the year to come.

Ever since the late Pat Patterson allegedly defeated the future Million Dollar Man Ted Dibiase in a South American tournament back in 1979, the title has been worn by some of the greatest grapplers ever to lace up the boots and today we're going to count down our favorites.We usually try to keep it to a top five when making a list, but there were way too many deserving contenders, so we expanded it to the top ten. Well folks, we finally made it through the last chapter of World Championship Wrestling.
In this episode we'll be covering the final Nitro which took place on March 26, 2001. A few days prior to the event, Vince McMahon bought the company and this final episode of Nitro starts with him talking about how the future of WCW is in his hands. This surreal episode took place six days before WrestleMania X-Seven and officially wrapped up the Monday Night Wars
On the card dubbed the Night of Champions, every WCW title is on the line, and we also get a match between Shawn Stasiak and Bam Bam Bigelow for no apparent reason. The Nature Boy Ric Flair kicks off matters with a promo and finishes out the final WCW broadcast against the Stinger.
The run is mercifully done as we tackled the final sixteen pay per views produced by WCW, sixteen of the worst pay per views of all time.
We want to thank you for joining us during these trying times and difficult shows. We promise the next batch of episodes will be less depressing, but this was a historic run that we couldn't say no to covering.

Finally, after subjecting ourselves to over a dozen of the worst professional wrestling shows ever made, The Year of Duke and Rogue Podcast is back and we're covering Greed, the final ever WCW pay per view.
The Nature Boy Ric Flair is still running the company on air, and on this show he'll be teaming up with The Chosen One Jeff Jarrett to take on the father-son combo of The American Dream Dusty Rhodes and The Artist Formerly Known As Goldust in a "Loser Has to Kiss the Winner's Ass" match. Dusty's been loading up on the burritos backstage, so the masters of the figure four leglock better watch out. Elsewhere, there's some brand new championships just in time for the last big show as WCW introduces the Cruiserweight Tag Team Titles. Backstage Buff Daddy's been roaming around with a camera guy getting all the great takes from the back as a mystery assailant causes trouble for the Magnificent Seven. In the main event Scott Steiner defends the WCW World Heavyweight Championship against DDP while his brother Rick defends the United States Title against Booker T. There's some decent action in this one, but there's a lot of throwaway material as well.
Within a week of this broadcast, a decision was made to discontinue Nitro and Thunder on Ted Turner's networks. Anyone familiar with the story knows that Vince McMahon swooped in and bought out his competition, effectively ending the Monday Night War, though it hadn't been much of a war in recent times.
We'll be covering the final week of WCW on our season finale next time around, followed by a recap episode where we attempt to make sense of the most nonsensical chapter of professional wrestling probably ever. We'll also be previewing where we're going next, and it's with great joy and a sense of relief that we're finally moving on to something different.

The special fiftieth episode of the TOTS Pod is here and it features a special Gigantic "Get Off My Lawn" section from you the listeners! The boys read them off and pick the grand prize winner for a huge prize pack!
As we head into the final couple of months of World Championship Wrestling, the Nature Boy Ric Flair and his Magnificent 7" faction have been running roughshod on the roster. The group of veterans was supposed to form at the end of the Sin pay per view, but their debut was botched on account of Sid's broken leg.
Adding some intrigue these days are the mysterious surveillance cameras capturing things in the back. In the ring, we have Big Poppa Pump, along with his freak and his big pole, defending that world title against Kevin Nash. Flair is ringside to make up the rules as they go along. The commissionership is on the line because of course it is, as Lance Storm takes on the Cat. The Dog Faced Gremlin Rick Steiner emerged from pay per view purgatory to defend his newly won United States championship against Dustin Rhodes, and DDP pulls double duty taking on Kanyon and then Double J.
This is not the worst show of all time, but it's a little too little too late for the struggling promotion as we near the end of our trek through the final year and change of the company.

To the surprise of no one, we have another contender for worst show of the year.
For the first time ever, we have a bunkhouse brawl street fight that miraculously transforms into a standard tag match about halfway through. Goldberg puts his career on the line once again against The Total Package. We get Kronik having a steam in a sauna. Meanwhile, chair shots and nards plows are real cheap, we get an ambulance match and a six man ladder match for a shot at the Cruiserweight title which for no good reason at all starts as a traditional tag team match.
Elsewhere, Scotty Steiner defends that world title against the Millennium Man Sid Vicious while certified bonehead Mark Madden declares that this is one of the greatest Starrcades of all time.

Since our last show, Vince Russo has won and relinquished the world title, and Booker T regained the gold in the infamous San Francisco 49ers match. He takes on the loaded sex pistol Scotty Steiner for the world title. Elsewhere, the Stinger takes on Double J in a match that sounds decent on paper. However, this is WCW in the year 2000. The amount of bullshit in that contest is incredible. Finally, we get a main event with Goldberg taking on Kronik.

It's Fall Brawl, but the War Games are nowhere to be found. In place of the classic match, we get a caged heat match for the world title. It sounds fancy, but it's just a regular old cage match. We also get a scaffold match, a first blood chain match, and Mike Tennay visits David Flair at home to see how he feels about being stabbed in the back right in front of his face by his former flame, Ms. Hancock.
Titles are on the line and we get a survivor series type affair between the Filthy Animals and the Natural Born Thrillers that features a surprise guest that nobody sees coming. I wouldn't go as far to say that this it's a good show, but it might be the best one so far in our journey through the final year of WCW.

We're back in Canada for WCW New Blood Rising. This event took place after the New Blood faction was disbanded, and that's just the beginning of a confusing event that pushes the bullshit level to new heights.
We have a double ladder match for a recording contract, a couple of gals rolling around in the mud, the Disco Inferno officiating a match, and a four corners match for the tag team titles. Elsewhere the Stinger takes on the Demon and Tank Abbott has cut out the nipple spots on his t shirt. The co main event includes bullshit that rivals and probably exceeds the bullshit that happened when JJ laid down for the Hulkster at last month's Bash at the Beach.

Four years following the formation of the New World Order, WCW returned to the Daytona Beach Center to host Bash at the Beach 2000, a show that is for all intents and purposes, the incredibly unsatisfying final act of one of the best stories in professional wrestling history.

The reigning champ going in is David Arquette, perhaps best known for his role in the Scream movies, as well as being the husband of one of the stars of Friends. The actor is the star of the WCW produced film Ready to Rumble, and somehow got himself involved in the title picture, won the belt, then even had a successful title defense against Tank Abbott. This is considered one of the low points in WCW's history, and we're here to call it as we see it. Arquette defends the title against Double J and DDP inside that triple cage.
Elsewhere, the Hulkster is still fixing to quench his thirst against Billy Kidman, this time with former friend and now foe Eric Bischoff as the guest referee.

We're back for the sixth and final WCW Uncensored as we move along through the final year of the company at a snail's pace. This was the lowest attended, least purchased, and overall biggest money pit of a Pay Per View in WCW's history, though the action is a slight improvement from the last couple flaming piles of garbage that we've reviewed.
This is the Taskmaster's last show with the book before a couple of familiar faces are reeled back in to reboot the product in a couple of weeks. But in the meantime, the gang's all here. Well, all except for the guys advertised on the flyer for the show.
We got Hulkster and Flair in a Yapapi Strap Match and Sting and Luger face off for the last time in a Lumberjack Match surrounded by guys with casts on their arms. Elsewhere, TAFKAPI defends his gold against a maskless Psychosis. This one gets borderline X Rated on the outside of the ring as their two managers go at it passionately. We got a falls count anywhere match that ends up spilling all the way to the bathrooms and The Wall continues to do the wrong thing, much to the chagrin of his mentor, Bam Bam Bigelow.
Last but not least, in place of that mysterious door from SuperBrawl, we have a mysterious limousine outside for this one. Who's in there? Will we ever know? Tune in to the Year of Duke and Rogue and we'll find out together.

Duke and Rogue are back to take you through the second show of the new millennium as the quality of the product continues to freefall at breakneck speeds. The show is lackluster from top to bottom as a locked door plays a leading role in the sad tale that is SuperBrawl 2000.
The card is headlined by a match that had no business being as bad as it was, as The Millennium Man, The Bad Guy, and The Chosen One compete for the big gold belt in one of many sloppy melees on the night.
Elsewhere, in what we have to believe is a first of its kind, we get two terrible wrestlers competing in a leather jacket on a pole match that ends up looking like a dark crime scene.
For weeks, "The Cat" Ernest Miller has been promising to produce his close personal friend, The Godfather of Soul James Brown, live on WCW. Will The Cat bring the goods? We tune in to find out in a segment that is longer than the longest match on the card.
We get a Sicilian Stretcher Match and a guy named TAFKAPI gets a taste of some gold. The Hulkster makes his Pay Per View return donning the red and yellow with a broken arm, courtesy of The Total Package Lex Luger. "The Nature Boy" Ric Flair squares off with Terry Funk in a deathmatch, while Flair's son tarnishes the family legacy in tag competition.

Elsewhere we have a couple of football players taking on Flair and the Enforcer, the biggest man in the world defending his world title against the Total Package, and the debut of Rey Mysterio Jr. This is the last stop on the way to the Bash at the Beach and business is picking up.
"We gonna have a tag team match!"
In what is probably Teddy Long's favorite show of all time, but objectively one of the worst collections of wrestling matches you'll likely ever see, we get not one, not two, but 12 tag team matches, as the stars of WCW are paired at random in a tag team tournament in which the winners of the first two rounds get placed in an unconventional battle royal to determine the Lord of the Ring and secure a title shot at the next big pay per view. In the main event we have the Giant continuing his championship reign of terror against the Man Called Sting. In what might be the low point of an already dismal series of shows, this also happens to be the longest Duke and Rogue, so strap in for a wild ride down the road to mediocrity that is WCW's Slamboree 1996!
The infamous three tiered Doomsday Cage match headlines this ill-fated trip down memory lane. The match features The Hulkster and The Macho Man taking on The Alliance to End Hulkamania, a team of at least eight bad guys with one mission in mind. Elsewhere, we get a truly spellbinding affair between The Giant and the 700 pound Loch Ness, a man versus woman match for the ages, the debut of the damn Booty Man, and a match that ends in disqualification....AT UNCENSORED! Strap in folks, it's going to be a bumpy ride.
Just when we thought that things were looking up, WCW shovelled out this pile of garbage. While things have not yet hit rock bottom in the land where the big boys play, the pain train is barrelling off the tracks at a decent speed courtesy of the Dungeon of Doom, Ric Flair's ass, and a whole lotta plunder.
We are happy to debut a new theme song with this latest episode of The Year of Duke and Rogue. As far as the action goes, this Clash of the Champions features an unforgettable Ric Flair promo, a wedding with a twist , and a tag team cage match with an ass spot for the ages.
Here is the first episode from series three, as we take a swift turn away from Attitude Era WWF to cover WCW in 1996, from Starrcade to Starrcade.
It's WCW vs. NJPW in a best of seven for the World Cup of Wrestling. No Hulkster, no tag team matches. We do get a triangle match, so that's something.
The entertainment factor is not near on par with the ridiculous shit that we just covered, so unfortunately just straight wrestling seems a little stale after that, but there's some good stuff to be had in this unique show.

In series three we tackle WCW beginning in December of 1995 at Starrcade with the World Cup of Wrestling where WCW takes on NJPW in a best of 7 series, all the way through the birth of the NWO and the endless melees that ensue, before wrapping up at the end of 1996 with another Starrcade, this one headlined by Hollywood Hogan vs. Rowdy Roddy Piper in a steel cage.
