First Team All RMAC ILB 2007
Honorable Mention All RMAC 2006
Welcome to another episode of the asfbpc, I am your host and former player AJ Webb, and in this episode I sit down with Former Inside Linebacker Danny Dyson at his home in Phoenix.
Danny holds a special place in my heart, because he was my host when I took my visit to the glorious dirty mo In January of 2005, From my recruiting trip to the last game on Rex field, Danny was there as a teammate, a coach, and a brother. His work ethic and dedication are burned into my mind when I think of men who represent Adams State Football. His 209 career tackles and multiple all rmac selections speak for themselves, but the 7 career fumble recoveries indicate Danny's hustle on the field.
And now, an Adams State Football Podcast Interview with a six foot 230 pound Mike Backer, from Denver Colorado, a Menace from Mullen High, number 15 Danny Devil Dog Dyson!
I met Chad Hovasse in the fall of 2018, in one of my classes where he very casually mentioned he was a receiver on the football team. Like any dedicated has been I decided I better peep this guy's credentials and spend an inordinate amount of time thinking about what would happen if he tried to crack block me. I checked his stats on grizzly athletics, and was shocked to learn that Chad was an all American, an RMAC player of the year, and a Harlon Hill candidate. Chad would finish his career with several Adams State receiving records as he accumulated 288 receptions, for just shy of 4000 yards and 44 tugs. I sat down with Chad to hear his great story and learned how he went from walk on to one of the best to do it on Rex Field. While chad is physically gifted, his accomplishments should be attributed to his willingness to do whatever it takes to and motivation to earn respect, and a place at the table
And now, and Adams State Football Podcast Interview with a 6’1, 220# Wide Receiver hailing from Colorado Springs, a captain, a record setter, an all American, a harlan hill candidate, one of the best to wear the green black and white for Adams State #81 Chad Hovasse

This man is beloved by many players coaches and friends of Adam State football he is as warm and soft as a teddy bear, and as hard as a coffin nail. Over the past year this man has gone through 10 surgeries, lost his leg, and nearly his life. But he’s back from the dead to tell his great Adam’s state Story.
His mental toughness, and positive attitude helped him get on the road to recovery, but if you ask him he’ll tell you that the love and support of his wife, blood relatives, and his Adam’s State football Family pulled him through the dark days.

What’s up team, this is your host AJ Webb bringing you a very special episode.
Head football Coach Jarrell Harrison (@coachjharrisson on Twitter) sits down and tells his great story. We start out with his origin story of how he and former Adams State Running back Tyree Walton were tearing up the Las Vegas desert, and developing a winning tradition for the Palo Verde Panthers. We talk his recruiting story, his City College of San Francisco juco all American career, and his University of Missouri Tiger career where helped his team earn a 10 win season, an appearance in the Insight Bowl in Tempe Arizona. His play as a safety earned him Big 12 Conference honors. We talk how he made his coaching dream a reality, his first college coaching job as a GA at Adams State, and the lessons he learned coaching some of the most powerful offenses that Adams State has ever fielded. Then we talk about the adversity of COVID and how he stepped up as the interim head coach in January 2021. Just four months later he was named the official head coach, and four months after that his squad took the field after 700 plus days without a game, and several key players in quarantine. After a season of lessons, a Ft. Lewis Victory, and his first off-season under his belt we sat in Plachy hall a few days before players reported for fall camp.
And now, an Adams state football podcast, with a multi time Nevada High school State champion, a juco all American, A big 12 all conference selection, a leader of men, hailing from Las Vegas Nevada Adams State Football Head Coach Jarrell Harrison!!!

Dr.Mark Manzanares
In this episode of the Adams State Football Podcast, I sit down with Dr. Mark Manzanares who is a professor at Adams State University, but back in the late 80s Mark was spending his time carrying the pigskin on Rex Field. Under the Leadership of Coach Jeff Geiser, Mark and his squad had some of the most successful seasons in Adams State history including accomplishments like winning RMAC conference championships, playing the Mexican National Team in the Aztec Bowl, and competing in the 1988 National Championship. Their achievements would ultimately get them inducted into the Adams State Athletics Hall of fame.
Mark shares the events that lead him to Alamosa, then we transition to his playing career. I was on the edge of my seat listening to Mark talk about his teams trials and tribulations, dominance, and national championship campaign. You can find links to the 1988 season in the description of this podcast.
You can expect a part two with Mark, to learn about his post football career, and all of the years as a professor on the Adams State Campus.
I am your host AJ Webb, former Adams State defensive lineman, and I know you will enjoy this episode.

What’s up team, this is your host, former Adams State Defensive Lineman A.J. Webb.
From 2009-2012 Kevin Ashak mauled opponents, and protected the blind side of Trevor Eggleston, helping him to break the completions record once held by Bobby Saiaz, and to Lead Adams State to the best Division 2 record in school history (8 and 3).
After college Ashak played for several Arena Football League teams until he was forced to hang up the cleats due to injury in 2018. You can find Kevin's College and highlight tapes in the description of this podcast.
Since retirement, Ashak returned to school, and is now a Registered Nurse.Ironically he is now taking care of people in the hospital rather than trying to put defensive players in it.
I enjoyed sitting down with my fellow Arizonian to have him tell his great Adams State Football Story, and to listen to all the great advice he has for high school players that want to play in college, and college players that want to play professionally.
