Healing is (or should be) a straight forward thing. At least it is in New Testament writings. Jesus healed the sick in a simple non spooky manner. He healed fever, opened blind eyes, cured reproductive excretions, raised the dead. It wasn't controversial. At least not when the question of 'could he do it' was posed.

Jesus matter of factly delegated the authority to heal to all who believe in Him.

“These are some of the signs that will accompany believers: They will throw out demons in my name, they will speak in new tongues, they will take snakes in their hands, they will drink poison and not be hurt, they will lay hands on the sick and make them well.” Mark 16v17-18 MSG

In the Old Testament( Covenant), God's chosen people( The Jews) could legitimately pray "Give us our daily bread" and God would oblige. The non Jewish people in the other nations of the world had no right to God's blessings because they were not party to the agreement that made God's provision their inheritance.

"Christ redeemed us from the curse of the law by becoming a curse for us (because it is written, “Cursed is everyone who hangs on a tree”) in order that in Christ Jesus the blessing of Abraham would come to the Gentiles, so that we could receive the promise of the Spirit by faith". Galatians 3v13-14 NET
