Walker Hornung has been performing his unique style of flamenco-infused rock music for more than 30 years. His band Q South reached great success in the ‘90s, after which he went on to grace the stage alongside many noteworthy musicians. Walker has been very busy recording new music with his band, The Brotherhood of the Grape, and performing at shows all across the globe. We recently caught up for the latest episode of the podcast to discuss some of his musical influences and favorite memories on stage.

The Global Spin Awards were created by Shawn Prez in 2012, with the goal of celebrating the accomplishments of DJs and producers worldwide. For the last six years, the show has continued to grow into a pillar of the music industry, celebrated by such “A-list” celebrities and musicians, including nominees, DJ Khaled, DJ Envy, Marshmello, and The Chainsmokers.
His experience as an industry executive, with both Atlantic Records and Bad Boy Entertainment, helped Prez attain some of the connections necessary to create the first and only award show to give industry recognition just for DJs.

Blue October first started in the mid-to-late ‘90s, when two former high school chums Justin Furstenfeld and Ryan Delahoussaye, set out to create an alternative rock band that has since gone on to have more than eleven Top 40 singles across eight studio albums.
Popularized by their platinum-certified album Foiled (2006), which features the hit singles “Hate Me” and “Into the Ocean,” the group has continued to evolve… shifting from a far more pensive sound to one that is more optimistic and reflective of lead singer/songwriter/guitarist Justin Furstenfeld’s transformation—which will also be the focus of his soon-to-be-released documentary film, I Want It.
Once known for their stormy dynamic and self-destructive tendencies, Blue October couldn’t be more distinct from the band it once was, which is why their forthcoming studio album, I Hope You’re Happy, looks to push the envelope even further with a whole new approach.
Last year, I had an opportunity to speak with Furstenfeld one-on-one before a recent solo performance in New York City to discuss his transformation, the documentary, and the band’s ninth studio album.

Tha Riot Squad was created by four young rappers from the same neighborhood, who linked up in the early 2000s to form a hip-hop supergroup the likes of which could never be duplicated. Unfortunately, the loss of Rayquan “Stack Bundles” Elliot, who was shot and killed in 2007 by an unknown assailant outside of his apartment building, and Lionel “Chinx Drugz” Pickens, who was shot and killed just three months prior to his 2015 debut album, “Welcome to JFK,” was scheduled to be released, further delayed the group’s plans to release a full-length posthumous record that would pay proper tribute to both Stack and Chinx.
