The Bible states that "...God has not given us a spiritof timidity, but of power and love and -->self-discipline.<-- (2Ti 1:7 LSB). In Week 5 of Discipleship 103 we continued our series discussing "Spiritual Disciplines."
Spiritual disciplines are practices we do regularly that with the power and grace of the Holy Spirit, can help us change our sinful habits into good habits that make us more like Christ and connect us closer to God. They are life patterns that direct us to God and disciple us more fully into thelikeness of Jesus Christ

In Week 4 of Discipleship 103 we continued our series with a discussion on the "Fruit of the Spirit." This fruit (âproduct, result, gain, outcome, harvest) is the manifest evidence one may expect from a life in which the Spirit of God is living and reigning. These qualities are to be found in believers because of the change the Spirit of God has made in them. The word fruit indicates that the issue in this matter is not what man can do. A fruit is not something that is made or done. The âfruit of the Spiritâ are not human products but the result of Godâs Spirit dwelling within men.
The singular - "fruit" of the Spirit, shows that the nine virtues mentioned are not different jewels, but are different facets of the same jewel. All of these qualities are found in every believer who is led by the Spirit. For more information please contact us at greaterworksdiscipleship@gmail.com. Then he proceeded to discuss the Christian presence in North Africa which spread to West Africa even before the slave trade began. Finally, we looked at several key African figures and their contribution to Christianity and even read the slave narratives showing how they understood the distinction between the God of the Bible and the God of the slave master. For more information please visit www.greaterworksdiscipleship.com or e-mail us at greaterworksdiscipleship@gmail.com

Today, Greater Works begins a new 6-week teaching series on Systematic Theology for the Kingdom Fellowship of Interdependent Ministries (KFIM). Systematic Theology is the collecting, scientifically arranging, comparing, exhibiting, and defending of all facts from any and every source concerning God and His works.
We begin our series by discussing the "Prolegomena" = things that are said before. It comes from the Greek word for âbeforeâ and âto say.â It deals with our presuppositions. Prolegomena is the introduction to the study of theology because it comes first and gives direction to the formation of oneâs belief. Just as the blueprints will determine the shape of the building to be constructed, so your attitude and principles of studying will determine your doctrinal position.
Please join us for this exciting new series. For more information or to obtain a copy of the presentation, please visit us at www.greaterworksdiscipleship.com or e-mail us at greaterworksdiscipleship@gmail.com

Apologetics is the art and science of commending and defending the gospel of Jesus Christ. The word "apologetics" derives from the Greek word apologia, which was originally used as a speech of defense. In ancient Athens it referred to a defense made in the courtroom as part of the normal judicial procedure. After the accusation, the defendant was allowed to refute the charges with the defense (apologia). Â Â Â
