This video was taken last April 8, 2025, when I went home after work. On my way to our village, I just noticed that the hue of the sky is very enchanting and the view of Mt. Makiling on our left side entices me to see its beauty around the beautiful color of the golden time. That moment before the sun set down I hurriedly changed and got my drone to document this scenic view of sunset and the beauty of Mt. Makiling.

I only captured this outside our village. Honestly, this is an unplanned drone practice, and Im grateful I've done this. Look at the view. Beautiful right? The First one is the Mt. Makiling that I've been talking about. It is one of the Iconic mountains in the Philippines. It is being written all over the books during our grade school time. Seeing its beauty 14.8 kilometers away from Lipa, Batangas, already awes me, and this time it shows us how majestic this creation is.

Plus, this golden time around Batangas, this is one of the things I love about this place, the sunset and color of the sky when dusk comes, it is very fascinating to the eyes. Is it right? The color combination of the sky is just like a painting, and on the other side, there is the Mt. Makiling, which greets you with its beauty when you are roaming around the Batangas Area, especially in Lipa, where we currently live.

Why is this Iconic?Mt. Makiling is associated with a folk tale about Maria Makiling. She is said to be a beautiful, mysterious, and kind-hearted guardian spirit who lives inside the Mountain of Makiling, which is located in the province of Laguna, Philippines. This story is about the connection between the environment and people who live around the mountain. As I said earlier, this story is written in one of our books in grade school. That's why at an early age I knew about the Mountain.

Aside from this folk tale, this mountain is also known for being one of the oldest forest reserves of the Philippines. It is one of the Ecological hotspots in the Philippines where you can find different species of plants and animals. It is used for Environmental and scientific research by the University of the Philippines, Los BaΓ±os (UPLB) is located on the mountain foothills.

Open for Recreational ActivitiesMt. Makiling is also a famous destination for hiking, trekking, and eco-tourism. You can experience the dense tropical forest of the mountain. Where you can explore the mountain under the big trees and witness the scenic view of Batangas and Laguna when you reach the peak. The folk tale about the mountain, the ecological facts, and the beautiful views of Mt. Makiling make you decide to visit and explore the mountain.

From 14.8 Km to 0 Km AwayYes, you read it right. Last Sunday, May 25, I set foot and explored the Mt. Makiling Trail. Together with one of my colleagues, we booked a Joiner tour on Mt. Makiling and discovered how enchanted it is. I will just give you a summary cause I want to create another story about our full trail on this mountain

I just say that my experience on Mt. Makiling is magnificent and satisfying. The feeling that you are surrounded by tall and big trees and you will hear the sound of nature, like insects, birds chirping, and the trees whispering. Imagine that one while you are walking on the sm, all paths covered with different plants, all you can see are greens around you. The climbing difficulty is mixed with excitement to discover the deeper view of the mountain, and that's the best feeling I discovered on this trail.

This video above indeed entices me successfully to visit Mt. Makiling, and Im very grateful that I listened to myself to visit it. For the full story experience of Mt. Makiling, just check out my next blog.

For now, just enjoy the video. I hope you like it, and it entices you somehow to visit the enchanted Mt. Makiling. Thank you for joining me on this blog. This is @intoy.bugoy! See you in my next Hiventure πŸ˜‰

Today, March 30, I just want to share a mouth-watering video that will make you hungry. On this video, Im grilling pork liempo for my lunch.

Early in the morning, I already defrosted this pork in the fridge. It's only 1/4 kls then when the meat is already defrosted I seasoned it and marinated it for almost 30 minutes with salt, black pepper, oister sauce and a small part of soysauce.

While it's absorbing the marinated sauce, I prepare the broiled, the charcoal, and set already the fire. After seven minutes, I get the meat and start grilling; exactly its almost thirty minutes after marinating.

After a few minutes, I already smell the aroma and its appetizing smell. It makes me excited to taste it, and every time I am grilling, I am drooling as well πŸ˜….

I'm just happy and satisfied at the same time that at this part of my life, I can now cook a food that I'm craving to eat. Im not from a wealthy family that can provide and afford food like this. We don't have a choice but to eat what is on the table, and we can't crave sumptuous food cause we can't afford it. Now, I can, somehow, though it's too far from what we want but we can now afford to buy food like this. And it makes me strive more for the success we are aiming.

Okay, enough life reflection, let's go back to the food. After twenty minutes of grilling, the meat is already cooked. so I tooked it straight from the grill. It's too much for me, so I call my other colleague in the girl's house to have lunch. Perfect timing; she hasn't eaten yet.

Glad she like it, she like the marination and the taste of the meat. For the sauce, we just partner it with the soy sauce and lime jauce. It's a perfect combo for grilled meat. How about you guys? What is your sauce for grilled pork?.

We are full and satisfied with the food we have in our lunch. More Lam-lam Diary soon. That's it for this food blog. Hoping you like it and it makes your stomach growl somehow πŸ˜‚.

This is @intoy.bugoy! See you in my next Hiventure πŸ˜‰

Dear Hiver,

Hope this message finds you well. As the summer 2025 season is approaching, we are inviting you to explore one of the pristine beaches in the Philippines called Kota Beach. The beach is considered one of the top tourist destinations on the Island of Bantayan, Cebu and waiting for you to discover. Hope you will consider this place in your bucket list and visit this coming summer season.

Thank you and see you πŸ˜‰

Regard,

Intoy.Bugoy
Certified Lakwatsero

It's indeed summer season. Im day daydreaming again about visiting a pristine beach like this one πŸ˜…. How I wish there were an email invitation pop-up in my inbox for exploring this beautiful Kota Beach on Bantayan Island. If there is, of course, I will not let it pass. Who am I to reject it, right?

Even if I have work, I will schedule and file a vacation leave for this. Sorry, team, visiting this beach is much important than working in the graveyard πŸ˜…. Just kidding; I have a lot of tummies to feed. Wright now, the least we can do is just have a throwback and scroll down our gallery regarding our previous travel adventures. That's why I found this video that I will share with you.

This video was taken last April 16, 2022. It's almost 3 years, and I still remember our experience on this pristine beach. As I remember, it was holy week when we were invited to visit the island by one of our colleagues who happened be residing there. And this Kota Beach is on the beautiful tourist spot in the Island we've visited. It's my second time around on this place, and I think it's not the last one, hoping πŸ˜….

Of course, I still hope to be back in this place. I already pinned my heart on this Island, and I will never get tired of going back and seeing a beauty like this. There are places that Ive visited already that I'm okay not to back, but Bantayan Island is different from those; something there's an aura pulling me back to this place. You will experience it when you visit the Island.

Kota Beach is known for having a wide strip of fine white sand along the coastline of Sta. Fe. It has a Sandbar that everyone loves to see. Its ambiance is so picturesque and perfect for your Insta wall, from the crystal clear water and the tropical vibe of the resorts around.

You can do a lot of activities here on the beach, from sunbathing in the fine white sand to exploring its marine life. Its crystal clear water is perfect for you to dive in and witness the beauty of corals and other marine life. You can also play beach volleyball with other tourists. Skimboarding with the other locals, Jetsi and Kayak riding. At night, you will enjoy the active nightlife in the beach and enjoy partying with different tourists. Ofcourse interms of food don't miss out the seafoods.

To tell you, this place is worth it to visit. From the moment you set foot on the pier, you will be in awe of what you will see. From the color of the water and the enticing beach on the shoreline. Plus the sunset you will never forget.

So, are you now interested in this invitation?

How to reach Kota Beach? If you are now decided to explore Bantayan Island and experience Kota Beach, You can reach it from several ways.

Private Transportation: You can rent a Van or Taxi bound to Hagnaya Port. it will take you 3 and a half hours of travel, depending on the traffic. The cost is 3500 pesos, depending on the package. Then, take a ferry bound to Sta. Fe. It is one and a half hours of travel, and the fare is 400 pesos. Then, from the Pier, you will ride a tricycle going to the Proper of Sta. Fe where Kota beach is suited.

Bus: You can also ride a Bus From Cebu North Bus Terminal bound to Hagnaya port. It will take you four hours of travel and cost you 300 pesos for the fair. Then, ride a ferry bound to Bantayan Island.

If you want a fast trip to reach the Island, there's a flight already from Mactan Island to Bantayan Island every Friday and Sunday. It will only take you for 25 minutes of travel and gues what its only 888 pesos per trip. This is my recommended way to reach the Island. Just a reminder, there's only a flight twice a week, and only 72 passengers are accommodated, so make sure to book ahead to reserve your seat.

Travel Tips* Check the Weather; Always check the weather before heading to the island. * Schedule and book your accommodation ahead. Choose an accommodation at Sta. Fe, so you are near Kota Beach * Bring your necessities. Don't forget your swimwear and sun protection. The Island is so hot, especially during the summer season. * Bring Extra Money, as few ATM's are available in the area * Respect Local rules and the Environment. Dont destroy this paradise and be mindful with your trash.

That's it for this blog. hoping I'll give you another place to visit this coming summer season. Im excited to see your Experience in Kota Beach. Thank you for joining me in my #LakwatsaniIntoy Diary (MyTravelStory).

Hello Everyone. I hope you're doing great today. For today's blog, I will share with you a video of a beautiful Landscape captured using my DJI Flip drone during our Mt. Ulap Trail in Itogon Benguet, Philippines.

We are at Gungal Peak, the second peak of the Mt. Ulap Trail, when I start flying off my drone and take this video. That time, my heart was pumping so fast. I am afraid and shaking about what may possibly happen to this new buddy of mine. Funny, because I just bought this 3 days before this hiking and to tell you this is the second time around I will Operate this drone πŸ˜…. Yeah, I just took my courage and gut feeling to operate this. And praying nothing bad will happen to my Drone.

It's scary and exciting at the same time. I was scared to lose this one instantly; however, the beauty of this place in front of me pushed me to push myself and convinced me to have an aerial shoot, and this is what I got. A beautiful landscape is seen above.

Im glad, and it's satisfying when I saw the view above in my RC Screen. I just smiling after I took this video. it's a kind of feeling that you succeed at something, even just small things like this.

On this video, you will find the stunning mountain range of Mt. Ulap. You also find the famous Gungal Rock formation that is one celebrity in this trail. Travelers line up and wait their turn to have a picturesque photo on the Gungal cliff area. We waited for thirty minutes for our turn to have pictures taken in this area. Yeah, this one is kind of a blockbuster; you need to line up.

You will also find the overlooking view of Baguio City, one of the tourist destinations in the Philippines. What you see in this video is just a small glimpse of how beautiful the place is. This trail is indeed recommendable to explore. For the one asking its difficulty level, it is just 3/9. But make sure to prepare your body and endurance, it's a long trail, It took us 6 hours to finish it.

How to reach this Place? If you plan to witness this beautiful landscape with your naked eye, I suggest you join some trails by different Hiking companies/agencies offering a Mt. Ulap Trail, They are the one who will manage everything, from the tour guides, transportation, food, entrance, and other things.

This is the one we did, and it was hassle-free on our part. But if you want to DIY or travel solo. You can follow this guide: From Manila, ride a Bus going to Baguio City; it is a 5-6 hour ride, and it will cost you 746 Pesos for the fair price. Then, ride a Jeepney bound to Barangay Ampucao in Itogon, Benguet. It will cost you 50 pesos for the fair and it is 45 minutes travel time. Then register for the Environmental Fee in the Tourism office so they can assist you with the tour guide.

Travel Tips* Start early to avoid the heat and witness the sea of clouds * Be careful at Gungal Rock; it is safe but needs presence of mind. * Bring snacks, water, and other light food that can fill up your tummy * Have proper hiking gear to be safe and comfortable at the same time. * Always respect local rules and be mindful with your trash.

Stunning Landscape above Gungal Peak in Itogon Benguet Philippines: Drone Discovery

That's it for now; expect for more aerial video soon. Thank you for joining me on this blog and checking out this video.

Hello fellow builders in Hive. Im just sharing a video regarding a slab on grade that I inspected at our project site. This was taken yesterday, February 27, 2024. this is a housing project and I inspected a three storey townhouse unit.

Preparation and Inspection NeededFor slab-on-grade structures, first, you need to secure the soil stability and compaction. During the backfilling you need to compact the soil layer by layer. The maximum elevation is 30 cm, then compact and backfill again for another layer until the last layer. In the last layer, you need to conduct a Field Density Test (FDT) to verify the compaction of the soil. The acceptable percentage of soil compaction is 95% and above.

If the FDT passes, you can now move to the next activity, which is to apply a soil poisoning for termites and other pest control. Then, layer the subgrade. In this part, the subgrade should be five centimeters thick. It is advisable to use 3/4 to 1 inch diameter in size. After attaining the right elevation, you can start installing the rebar reinforcement. For the rebar, we use 10 mm diameter in size, and the spacing both sides should be 40 cm. The spacing and size of rebar depend on the structural design.

Make sure of the proper spacing and the proper concrete cover. It is important also to check this thing. The thickness of our Slab on grade is only 10 cm, this will be the structural finish in the ground floor. Always ensure that the elevation is from the survey team that monitors the exact data and elevation.

Another thing to check is the sanitary line and water line provisions. They should be in the exact location and free from defects. This is one of the things neglected during the preparation of the structure; be mindful of this one. Also, make sure all testing, like sanitary line leak test, flow test, and pressure test for this pipes are all conducted and passed already to avoid demolation during failures.

After checking and securing that the earth works, civil works, and electrical and Plumbing works are passed, you can now commence the concrete pouring of the slab on grade structure. On this part, you need to make sure that you order or mix the right strength of concrete and conduct the slump and flow test for the concrete before pouring to check the concrete quality.

Caring is ImportantThe next day, if the concrete has already hardened, pour water all over its surface for curing purposes to avoid cracks and make the concrete healthy. Do it for the span of seven Days. That's it. You already cast and care a slab on grade structure.

That's it for this blog. hoping I give you another Idea about construction. Thank you for joining me on this blog.

This is @intoy.bugoy! See you in my next Hiventure πŸ˜‰

I already made a blog about this place you can visit this link. I just want to share this video with you guys to remind you that the summer season is approaching and this stunning spot in Tabuelan Cebu is waiting for you to discover and explore with your loved ones.

In this video, we are just roaming around the beach of Maravilla, It is so hot at that time but we still enjoy it, from the view and the people around, it's worth it to explore. After 45 minutes of walking around, we head back to our cottage to take our lunch by the beach.

Having food with this beautiful view is very satisfying, Our stomachs are full, and also our eyes with this stunning view. Have you tried a meal at the Beach? How thus it feel?

How to reach Maravilla Beach? If you plan to visit this place, from Cebu Cty you just ride a bus in the Cebu Noth Bus Terminal bound to Tabueln, It will take you 3 to reach the municipality. Bus fare is only $4, drop off in the Tabuelan Market, then ride a motorcycle going to Barangay Hall of Maravilla for 5 minutes. Just negotiate the fare with the driver, and then a few meters you will find this Paradise.

I captured this video last February 3, 2025. It's Monday and it's my day off from my corporate world. So Instead of staying at home, I decided to go out and practice my skills in controlling my first new drone DJI Flip. And this is what I discover, The Unexpected Scenic View Above Lipa Batangas.

It was already 3:00 pm when I went out of the house, then I went to a bypass road in Lipa Batangas. It is just fifteen minutes away from my house. It is a wide-open area and perfect for practicing my drone as a newbie operator.

Im excitedly tried the different features of this drone specifically the AI commands. It's fascinating and it's a bit handy for me to drive even though Im just a newbie and relying on some tutorials on DJI Web. Its easy to control and navigate the features. I just fly it short elevation cause Im still afraid to try its maximum altitude.

500 meters is the maximum altitude of my drone to reach. At first, I was hesitant to max it but when I saw the screen with this view Im got excited to unfold the scenic view above Lipa Batangas.

From this elevation, you will see the astonishing view of Taal Lake and the Taal Volcano. I was amazed when I saw this I never expected to capture this view from Lipa Batangas. Also, this video highlights the beautiful mountains of Mt. Makiling and Mt. Manabu of Sto. Tomas Batangas. The mountains stand beautifully with green fields covering its all area. In this video also you see the aerial view of the booming City of Lipa. The city is not yet congested but I hope it will not, you will observe a lot of greens are still covering the area of Lipa.

This video simply astonishing, its Highlights the amazing nature that surrounds the Lipa Batangas and the beautiful heu of the sky during the golden time. Im glad I went out that day and captured this amazing view of nature. Im excited to capture more beautiful landscapes above together with this new friend of mine, DJI Flip.

That's it for now, expect for more aerial video soon. Thank you for joining me on this blog and checking out this video.

Hello Hivers around the world, Hoping you all did great today where ever you are now and whatever circumstances you are in this time always remember that all of this is just a task for you to be prepared for a big storm to come in your life. And when that time will come you can face it Boldly and Ease.

Anyway, this time I will share with you a short video clip that can relax and make you calm to face your current task in life. This is just a simple short video but I'm sure it will heal you mentally and make you at peace.

This video clip I've taken was when I visited a friend's place in Danao Cebu Philippines, Called Bali-ang. The place is suited to the top of the mountains. Their house is built on the downhill side of the mountain where you will be amazed by the view.

This mountain view in front of me is indeed refreshing, and relaxing and makes your mind at peace. I was glaring at this view for almost 30 minutes I think. I don't know while looking at this a lot of realizations coming up in my head slowly and make me smile silently imagining how beautiful the world is.

I'm always amazed by how nature makes us reflect on the past of our life, the failures, the obstacles, and the small wins along the way of the journey. It makes us think about the struggles we overcome to become who we are today and reminds us that we are far already and strong enough to fight a storm that will come in our life.

Photos are taken as screenshot on my VideoNature is indeed the best medicine we could have in our life. It just simply heals us and boosts our spirit to continue moving towards our goal. Discovering the beauty of nature like this is one of the greatest gifts I always received in life.

Hoping we all protect this kind of gift just like what this gift give us protection.

This is @intoy.bugoy! See you in my next Hiventure πŸ˜‰

Heyaaah Hiveeers, How are you? For today's blog, I will share with you another Travel Story in Bantayan Island. This time I will show you our road trip adventure from a Historical Church of Bantayan into the beautiful beach of Sta. Fe.

Our story on this island is not yet over, hoping you're not getting tired of reading about this place because I will not be tired also sharing with you how beautiful this Island is.

Last April a Holy week as I mentioned in my previous blog, we stayed here to experience the kind of holy week they have that has been a buzz in the Philippines because the way they celebrate it is different from the usual celebration. You can visit my previous blog below to know more about why.

The Heart of Bantayan Island : #LakwatsaniIntoy Diary 037

This time, I will share with you the day when everyone in the world should be celebrating, because it is the day Jesus Christ was resurrected. As a Christian, for us to celebrate this special day my colleague together with his childhood friends decided to have a road trip and visit a beach in Sta. Fe. We're getting excited about this, knowing this island has a lot of beautiful places to explore especially in the municipality of Sta. Fe.

St. pauls and church is our rendezvous point. A church in the proper of Bantayan tells you the history of this island during the Spaniard colonization. You can visit my blog about this church to know more about its history.

Visiting One of the Oldest Church in the Philippines | #LakwatsaniIntoy Diary 028

I and my colleague arrived first in the rendezvous area in front of the church and while waiting for his friends, I can’t help to take a lot of pictures of this Heritage Church. The history of the church will not only amaze you but also the structure itself, outside and especially inside architectural design is fascinating that makes you not forget about it.

It's already 11:00 am when everyone is already in the meeting area and we start heading to our destination point in Sta.Fe using the motorcycles And this part is getting exciting because you know the feeling of Countryside Vibe? you will feel on this part, the energy of a province and the nature that surrounds you, it really feels good and light. Especially when we route on the diversion road where you will pass the tropical vibes of coconut trees, the view and its energy will help your spirit rejuvenate and ease the heat of the weather on the island. It is a refreshing view indeed.

We stop here for 5 minutes to have some rest, it's already 15 minutes after we depart from the Church and along this time we also pass the OBO-OB MANGROVE ECO- PARK which is one of the tourist destinations we visited during my first time on this island. You can visit my blog below about my experience at Obo-Ob Mangrove Eco-Park.

Witnessing the Calmness Of Paradise Beach in Sta. Fe Bantayan Island, Cebu Philippines β›±πŸ | #LakwatsaniIntoy Diary 017

Afterward, we continue to our heading point, along the way we also pass the road going to Paradise Beach that I also never forget, It is the most beautiful beach I’ve visited on Bantayan Island. It is so calm the sand is so fine and the water is so pristine. We also pass the ruins near the cliff where you can jump during high tide, The Ruins here are photogenic, and the paints on the wall add up color and are vibrant to your pictures. Funny on this side we almost hit a Car by eyeing a lady on the cliff hahaha Glad the brake of the motorcycle is strong which makes us stop before hitting the Car.

Ruin and Cliff Diving Area. Five minutes away from the ruins, we also pass by the Ogtong Cave on the island that we also visited during the first visit I also created a blog on this you can visit the link below. Then ten minutes later we reach our destination Sugar Beach, one of the beautiful beaches of Sta. Fe Bantayan that most tourists want also to explore. I've created already a blog about this beach you can visit also the link below.

The Undeniable Beauty of Sugar Beach at Sta. Fe Bantayan Island Cebu, Philippines| #LakwatsaniIntoy Diary 031

Entrance Of Ogtong Cave Resort.

We traveled for 30 minutes from the Bantayan Church to this stunning beach where we spent the remaining hour of the day until 7:00 pm, we enjoy this amazing view and explore its nearby area and enjoy the activities on the beach.

Crowd in the beach area. This road trip to the island is one of the experienced I will never forget, we visited different places and tourist destinations even for a short period of time. But the views and memories of those places are already marked on my head and I can say Bantayan Island is Indeed Beautiful.

By the way, I want to shout out my driver here β€œ Mark ” who became our friend on this travel journey, and my instant tour guide who tell me information and history about the places we've visited. I'm glad I learned that information from local residents of the Island.

That’s it Hivers in our Road Trip adventure on the Island Of Bantayan. Hoping you enjoyed this travel story and learned something from my blogs. Thank you for dropping by.

" Mini Forest and Cliff Diving Area " Heyaaah Hivers !!! How are you? Hoping you have a good day today cause this time is another Travel story about our discovery of the mini forest and Cliff diving area of Virgin Island. Come Join me on this Discovery.

Recently, I published a travel story highlighting the Pristine Beach Of Virgin Island in my #LakwatsaniIntoyDiary035 during our visit last June 13, 2021. Our experience on the island beach is superb and very satisfying. You can visit on here to know more about the beach. At this time in my #LakwatsaniIntoy Diary 038, I will show you the unexpected discovery we have on the Island.

Talking about the island before we arrive on its ground, we only expect the beautiful beach and crystal clear water it has. There are rumors about the island we heard that make us excited to visit it. When we are on the island and start exploring it we saw this signage about the cliff side of the island. At first, we are hesitated to enter it, cause it just like a private passage that doesn't allow everyone to enter. My friends even joked that maybe it was a Wrong Turn like in the Movie πŸ˜…. We ask someone and they say that it is open to everyone. So we start exploring it and enter this Mini Forest of the Island.

Inside the Forest, we just feel relaxed and cool down. Diving on the beach at that time is hot and entering this mini forest helps us reduce our temperature and feel at ease. This small passage is photogenic, my phone camera loves it and it has an instagramable vibrant. So I take a lot of pictures together with my friends. You will hear the sound of the insect and the birds in this forest.

In 5 minute's walk, you will pass this cliff side of the island where you can take a pose and have a picture with it then you will enter again another forest and walk for another 5 minutes. Inside this mini forest feels like you you're in the middle of the jungle, The second forest is a little darker and makes you feel scared because there is the possibility that anytime there is a wild animal jumping in on you πŸ˜….

But the exciting part is not in the forest, At the end of the passage of the forest, you will see a structure beside the Cliff, It's like a lighthouse where you can jump and dive. Yes! your right this exciting activity of cliff diving can be experienced on the Virgin Islands. The height is almost 10 meters, not an extreme height but it will take courage to jump in πŸ˜….

We have fun Cliff diving, I think I jump for 10 times, I remember my childhood time in our province I used to jump on a bridge in our river. The enjoyment I feel and the moment with my friends is also the same as this. It's so genuine and I've missed the feeling of being a child.

Before Entering the Forest This exploration on the island is not just about discovering and being amazed at the places we found out, It also brings us back to happy memories we have in our childhood just like mine. Hoping to experience again this kind of adventure because this kind of exploration is unforgettable.

That's it Hivers in my #LakwatsaniIntoy Diary 038 | Discovery Inside of Virgin Island in Bantayan Cebu Philippines. Hoping you also discover a place to explore in my blog. Thank you for joining me in this Travel story 😊.

Today in my travel story I will bring you to one amazing beach area on the island. This is not actually the last part of this exploration because we visit a lot of beautiful places that you deserve to know. But this time let me bring you to the stunning KOTA BEACH πŸ–.

Kota Beach is one of the beautiful beaches on Bantayan island located in the municipality of Sta. Fe. It is near the proper of the town and only 10 minutes away from the guesthouse we stay in. Some of the highlights of the beach are the stretch curve white sand shoreline that becomes a sand bar during high tide, a beautiful sunset during the dusk time, and a crystal clear ocean that makes you love to dive in. This beach becomes more popular when most of the scenes of a trending ROM-COM movie "CAMP SAWI" were done in this area which shows off the beautiful view of "KOTA BEACH".

Kota Beach

  • HOW TO REACH KOTA BEACH

If you are already on the island, you can reach the beach in a few minutes. The beach lies in the shoreline of Sta.Fe. You may ride it through tricycle/Habal-habal it is 10 minutes away from the proper of Sta. Fe so its too far. It may cost you 30 pesos for the ride or you may rent out Bicycle. Some of the tourist just walk it from thier villa since walking around the island is also fun and exciting.

This point is the last part of our Day 1 adventure in Bantayan. We arrive at Kota Beach around 4:00 in the afternoon and left the area by 6:00 PM. We are amazed by the beauty it has when we step in at the beach area. The white wide shoreline welcomes us with a sparkling clear ocean. It is low tide when we arrive at the beach but it is so beautiful though.

We stay here for more than two hours, we swim, explore the beach and had fun staying on this wonderful beach. We love the water that time it is warm and it made us relax after a long day roaming on the island. A lot of tourists are on Kota beach walking around and the others setting on the sand and looking at the calm clear ocean of Bantayan.

  • ACTIVITIES ON KOTA BEACH

A lot of fun activities I've seen on Kota beach that you would love to experience like Parasailing, Riding a Jetski, these two that time I really want to experience but we don't have a budget for it πŸ˜…, maybe next time I should try it. You will also love Snorkeling on its clear ocean to witness the wonder of marine life on the beach. Sunbathing is also perfect in the area, (so bring your best swimwear once you visit). Beach Camping is also allowed in the area just bring your own tent and you can assemble it on the wide shoreline and more activities you will find on this amazing beach of Bantayan. You will have fun for sure once you visited the island.

This beach becomes one of my favorite beaches I've traveled here in Cebu. The stunning view it has gives you a good vibe and feels like your energy is generated in this place. The moment with my friends here is unforgettable, we really had fun and had a great time even this cutie puppy named Hunter of my friend Bret is joining us in this unforgettable moment.

Definitely, I will go back to this place once I visited again the island cause I miss to witness this beautiful sunset of the island and I want to see it on my own eyes πŸ˜…. I believe it has a lot to offer that I didn't know yet. So wanna join me in discovering it? Just dm me and we will schedule it 😊.

That's it Hivers in my #LakwatsaniIntoy Diary 024 | Exploring Kota Beach at Bantayan Island, Cebu Philippines. Hoping you had a great time reading in my blog. Thank you for joining me in this time Travel story 😊.

Do you miss the beach, sound of the ocean and the breeze of waves that covers your skin? I know you are bored and stressed out their staying at home due to this pandemic. am I right?

Well, to ease some of your boredom. I will share to you my quick getaway last July 4, 2021 (sunday) in an Island that make all Bisaya folks laughed when hearing it's name 🀣.

Hello Hivers !! welcome to

LakwatsaniIntoy Diary 004

a Quick Getaway in CAOHAGAN ISLAND, Cebu Philippines πŸ– 🏝

This island is located in Lapu-lapu, Cebu. Aside from Olango, this island is also one of the favorites for island hopping destination. The island is about four hectares and have an estimated population of 270 residents.

As I learned, Caohagan Island is a private island owned by a Japanese man. The Japanese owner and its wife is so generous to let the locals stay in the island after they bought it. In fact they also created programs for the community to sustain their life in the Island. Like :Quilting- a source of income, Solid Waste Management, Health Care and Population Management, and Educational Scholarship for the children. Click here for more information. This couple are really an angel to the folks of Caohagan island πŸ˜‡.

This stunning beach welcomes you when you visit the island. The crystal clear and the wide sand bar thats peeking out during low tide will invite you to swim and explore the bay of Caohagan Island.

ACTIVITIES TO ENJOY IN CAOHAGAN ISLAND

β€’ SNORKELING

The Island not only offers the beauty of the beach it has; it will also give you an underwater experience. You get to see up close the beautiful underwater creatures using your snorkel mask.

Don't forget to bring with you an underwater camera to document your unforgettable experience here. I'm blessed I have a travel mate like Cristopher David who has a Go Pro that we used in documenting our underwater adventure 😊.

β€’ KAYAKING

A fun activity that you will also enjoy together with your friends. You can explore the island by paddling along the beautiful shoreline of the island. Renting the kayak will cost you 200 pesos.

β€’ SWIMMING AND SUNBATHING

Having a fine white sand and a crystal clear water, Im sure you will enjoy the swimming and sunbathing activity. You will love to laydown and close your eyes, listen the sound of the waves and feel the fine sand that embraced your body. The island is a place to relax and take a deep breath. Releasing the stress and forgetting the problems even in a short period of time.

Look how Chris is floating at the top of the water. Look how he is relaxed and ease doing this, even if he doesn't know how to swim πŸ˜‚. Doing this is like you become part of the water. Going with the flow of water feels like flying in the clouds and just being free. Do you feel the same?

HOW TO REACH CAOHAGAN ISLAND

From Cebu City, it takes 1 hour and 30 minutes to reach the island. 1 hour from Cebu City to Lapu-Lapu, Cebu and 30 minutes from the port to the Island. You can take Bus or Taxi going to Lapu- Lapu then rent a boat that will guide you to the island.

We used the Car of Madam CCRB (one of our subcontractor from Manila who also like to explore Cebu) to reach Cordova Port in Lapu-Lapu. From there, we rented a boat that will bring us to the island. (4,500 Pesos is the rental of the boat)

One of us is my colleague , Joseph (Suveyor in project site) who invited us in this Island. He is resident in the nearby island and cousin of the owner of the boat we rented. He became our tour guide for the rest of the day.

This treasure in Caohagan Island is worth to visit. Hoping this will be preserved and protected from the abused of mankind. Having this beautiful nature is truly a gift of God.

WHY THE ISLAND'S NAME FUNNY TO BISAYAN FOLKS? 🀣 🀣

Actually, at first I didn't mind its name. I really don't know the meaning about it 🀣, Beacause I'm Waraynon. But when I saw my Bisayan colleagues smiled and laughed, I got a bit curious why why they laughed? so I ask them, then in a minute I laughed hahaha 🀣.

To tell you, its a Perverted word that you don't wish to say in public area where Bisayan folks are living 🀣.

(To all the bisaya out there I know what are you thinking sorry, but that's the name of the island. I didn't mean to put some dirty thoughts in your mind, ok? πŸ˜†πŸ˜†).

Ending my #LakwatsaniIntoy Diary 004 with this Stunning photo I captured in the island. Beautiful picture right? This picture inspired me to explore more and roam the world to see the beautiful nature out there 😍.

That's it Hivers! Hopping you enjoyed my blog. Thank you for visiting in my little hive room. This is @intoy.bugoy! See you in my next Hiventure πŸ˜‰.

If you have a picture of place you've visited that inspired your Life. You can drop it in the comment section to bridge this inspiration around the world, I think it's really worth to share πŸ˜‰ .

Hello Hivers welcome to another #LakwatsaniIntoy Diary 004

Last July 4, 2021, One of my colleague (Joseph) invited us to visit in one of the islands in Lapu-Lapu, Cebu Philippines, the Caohagan island 😊.

(To all the bisaya out there I know what are you thinking sorry, but that's the name of the island. I didn't mean to put some dirty thoughts in your mind, ok? πŸ˜†πŸ˜† ).

Together with me are Christopher David my travel mate who loves beach, even thought he didn't know how to swim πŸ˜‚. One of the owners of a new subcontractor of our project site also joins us (CCRB). They are from Manila who also want to explore the beauty of Cebu.

The place is perfect for those who want a quick vacation because the place is near only in the city. You can travel for 1hour and 30 minuets from the city.

On the island, we explore more in the bottom of the sea. We dive into different places even without a proper gear just to see what the island to offer.

We see a group of fish and different kind of starfish. The ocean welcome us with this beautiful creature.

It is my firs time to swim and join with a group of fish. This one is unforgetable moment ever been in my travel so far. The fish and beauty of the ocean really mesmerize me. We enjoy a lot in this travel, we do a lot of crazy things.

Sorry for the not clear photos and videos, it is because of the strong current of the sea. But so far I got some interesting picture. Did I?😊

I think that's it for now. Please watch out for the full video. Sorry, this is just a sneak peak. I just excited to share what I see and discover in this Island. See you in my next post in Discovering Caohagan island 😊.

EXPLORING THE STUNNING MALAPASCUA ISLAND. πŸŒŠπŸπŸ–

EXPLORING THE STUNNING MALAPASCUA ISLAND

Have you been here?

Malapascua is one of the most beautiful Island Of Cebu Philippines. It is approximately 7 kilometres from the northernmost tip of Cebu Island. The island is part of Logon, Daanbantayan, Cebu Philippines. Malapascua is a small island, only about 2.5 by 1 kilometer.

HOW TO REACH MALAPASCUA ISLAND?

From Cebu City you will travel 3 hrs and 20 minutes to Maya port in Daanbantayan Cebu Philippines. We rented a 12 sitter van which costs us 273 pesos each. Then you will ride a boat for about 40 minutes to reach Malapascua Island which is already included on our payment for the tour package.

We rented a boat that could accommodate 12 pax. We rented it for 1 and half days. Part of the boat rental were the island hopping, cliff diving, and transportation back and forth to Maya Port. (this cost us 450 pesos each).

Upon the arrival in Maya port, we first registered at their tourism desk afterwhich we lighted some candles at the Malapascua church for a safe exploration of the group. We then headed straight to GUANNA GUEST HOUSE. This will be our Home for 1 day.

Boy's Room

Girl's Room

These rooms were perfect for large group travelers like us. They had good service and were very accommodating. However they have problems with the water supply. But over all the guesthouse was great. I love their free breakfast promo. I love the food they served and the place is vibrant. ( the guest house cost us 500 pesos each with free breakfast😊)

WHERE DID WE GO?

After a minutes of break, the exploration begins!!!

First Point

The adventure starts under the sea. We dive and explore the bottom of the ocean even without proper gears πŸ˜‚. This is one of the unforgettable activities we've done in Malapascua. We enjoyed so much in this activity even their is a kantil or steep drop around the area that cause a change in pressure of the water, we just continued diving and ignoring the risk 🀣.

What do we look like? hahaha I know what you thinking hahaha. Sorry to disappoint you. We don't have beach body that add to your appetite 🀣. (These pictures were captured by @sirenprincess11 her Instagram account.)

Look at these gorgeous ladies. Jiezel and Izza done amazing poses in these picture. They can be the next Miss Malapascua or Miss Earth in the future 😊.

Second Point

This Rocky Mountain should be our next point but due to windy condition of the area and changes of water current that makes unsafe to us, we decided not to continue the cliff jumping. Maybe during our next visit 😊. " SAFETY FIRST"

Third Point

We headed straight to this stunning beach. This place is really awesome. Wow! is the only word I could say.

This couple enjoyed the moment even thought they did'nt know how to swim 🀣.

Look how amazing the water. You can't say no in this clean and crystal clear ocean.

We stayed longer in this place. We enjoyed the moment, the vibe of the ocean and the energy of the beach that makes us crazyπŸ˜‚.

Fourth Point

Captured moment of this lovely couple Ace and Mich. The Ruins!! The scenic view in this area will mesmerize you. That feeling when you are in the ruins and looked around it, it gives you goose bumps. Magical views will be captured by your eyes that you can't believe you've actually seen it.

This is the best point we have explored in Malapascua 😊.

Beside the ruins, there is a secluded area at the beach where few tourist came over. We continued enjoying the place and of course showing of our seductive body hahaha just kidding.

We just sat down and enjoyed the view captured by our eyes. (Don't mind my friend he just taking a killer post for his gram πŸ˜‚)

Fifth Point

The overlooking view. This instagramable view makes you love the island. It shows you the the stunning Malpascua Island against its crystal clear water. It makes you decide to come back in this island.

Making crazy stunts and group pictures are our favourite part.

What are you pointing at sir Chris? πŸ˜…

After the amazing exploration of the coastal view of Malapascua, We rest in the this beach near the central place of Malapascua island.

We just sat in bay, taking our snack and talking about this beautiful island of Malapascua. We wait until dawn to see this stunning changing color of the environment.

And that's the end of our day exploration and we are all excited what is the Night life of the island πŸ˜‚.

NIGHT LIFE IN MALAPASCUA

As millennial, Night Life is one of the exciting time we were looking forward when traveling in one place. But of course that is before pandemic time hahahaha. Since pandemic is still hre, we did not expect too much in what we call "happy hour".

We roamed around in the central of Malapascua to see what the island to offer.

As expected, few places are open for night activities. They limit their costumers and time due to protocols that needs to be followed in this pandemic period. We did not drink in these places. To avoid the crowd and for our safety, we had our drinking session at our guest house.

I think the night life in Malapascua is so alive if we were in a normal condition. This reason is added on my list why I should come back to this stunning island.

HOW MUCH DID IT COST ME IN THIS TRAVEL?

| Transportation from Cebu City to Maya Port | 273 | | --- | --- | | Registration Fee | 75 | | Boat Package | 450 | | Lunch | 100 | | Guest House | 500 | | Snacks | 50 | | Dinner | 100 | | Transportation From Maya Port to Cebu City | 250 | | Dinner | 150 | | TOTAL COST | 1948 |

My total cost for this travel was in my budget (2000). Thanks to the sponsors of our drinks for that night it did not cost me so much hahaha.

To end this adventure, I would like to drop this last picture - a navigation or direction sign. Looking at this sign inspired me more to travel and explore the world. It reminds me the purpose of life, to roam around the world and learn from all my experiences.

This also tells me to pursue what I want or where I would like to go. Even if your not so prepared or don't have enough tools to successfully do it, you must go. Because along the way in your journey, you will earn knowledge and learn a lot of information on how to deal with it and that will make you a stronger and bolder person in the future.

Thats it Hivers. That is how we did our PENNY PINCHING TRAVELπŸ˜‰. Thank you for joining in my Hiventure.πŸ˜‰ This is @intoy.bugoy! See you in my next blog Hivers....

- PADJI ISLAND SLAPPED ME -

Have you experience when you travel into an island and at your first glance when you approaching the area, it did not sustain your expectation? But when you are in the island, it gave you a surprise; a stunning and unforgettable view?. Well , it happened to me in PADJI ISLAND.

Hello Hiver's welcome to my #LakwatsaniIntoy Diary 002 | Discovering the sheltered beauty of Padji Island.

*DID YOU KNOW PADJI ISLAND? Padji island*, also known as Chocolate Hills island, is one of the underrated island in Cebu Philippines. It is an isolated private island located in Daanbantayan Cebu.

Have you been here?

HOW TO REACH PADJI ISLAND?

From Maya Port Daanbantayan Cebu Philippines you will ride a boat (the cost will depend on the size of boat you will rent). In just 10 minutes you will arrive in the island. (Even in the Port you will see already the island).

In Maya Port Tourism Office you need first to list your name and pay for Tourism fee for 75 pesos only.

WHY SHELTERED BEAUTY?

As I said earlier, my first glance did not sustain my expectation. I critique at early time even without knowing what is in the island.(in my mind; ok another mountain island in the middle of the sea πŸ˜…). Honestly , Yes..... "I judge the book by its cover". But I didn't pinned that judgement unless I know everything. (I think it's normal to have first impression ? πŸ™ƒ).

Going to Padji Island actually is not part of our itinerary for our travel in MALAPASCUA ISLAND.( which you also need to watch out on my next #LakwatsaniIntoy Diary).

We were just passing by the Padji island en route to Malapascua last May 2021. Its like normal Mountain island in the sea, not so attractive nor inviting to by passers to come over. So I'm not expecting so much when we did this side trip.

That thought really slapped me when I arrived in the island (hahaha). Just looked at the stunning pictures below. The Hidden stunning view of the island will really amaze you.

THE PERIMETER VIEW This time the slapped in my face start hitting me when we are in the perimeter of the island. And the only word in my head is just WOW! WOW! WOW!.

My crazyness to the island got higher when we climbed up and look downed were we start.

ENTRANCE VIEW This view really captured me and made me love the island. The tropical vibe and the clear water of the ocean made me crazy hahaha. The image to my eyes is pinned to my mind that I will never forget.

It is stunning right?

I did not expect they have this one. I did not know what they called it, but I think it is really nice to have a morning coffe in this area.

Camping on this island seemed great. What do you think?

CLIFF SIDE Look at the view were the sky and the ocean meet each other. It really amazing right?

The cliff is located in the northern part of the island. Me and my friends enjoyed this area. The cliff make another world in the island.

The side trip had a limited time only. We didn't explore throughly the island, we are just in the other side of it. We did not go to the highest part of the mountain where the light house is located. (I really want to go in the light house maybe in my next visit I definitely go their)

After exploring the island, we just soaked and enjoy the clear water first before heading home.

The island is under development. I think they will open it to travellers soon when the development was finished. (glad we came before it finished, because they don't put an entrance fee yet.... Yes it's free.)

I think even it has an entrance fee. The scenic view make it worth it.

The stunning beauty of Padji Island slapped me with my wrong thought's. It teach me not to judge and put conclusion on something, unless you know everything about it.

That's it for my #LakwatsaniIntoy Diary 002. Hoping you like it and learn something. Thank you for dropping by and following my Hiventure.

*HOME SWEET HOME*

Hi everyone welcome to my #LakwatsaniIntoy Diary 001 (MyTravelstories). I would like to start my diary in a place that considered as β€œMY PLACE”. Actually, it’s a kind of continuation of my self-introduction.

Note: "The place is not too Instagramable but the Moment and Stories of this Place are Unforgettable 😊"

β€œUMA NI PEDRO” – the name of our little Farm in San Fernando, Villareal Samar Philippines. It is named after our mighty grand father Pedro Sadullo (which my good looking face came fromπŸ˜„).

The place is almost two hectares. There is a mountain side which we plant root crops like Cassava and Taro (in waray-waray dialect they are called Bilanghoy and Gaway). The taste is like potato but its a little bit sweet especially the taro (which is my favorite one πŸ˜‹)

Who tried this kind of root crop's already?.

We have vegetables like okra, eggplant and beans. There's a pond where we do an Aquaculture. We breed Mud Crab πŸ¦€πŸ¦€ and Milk fish. There are also wild shrimps 🦐🦐 trapped in the pond during height tide. We also do poultry like raising Native Chicken.

WHY THIS PLACE IS UNFORGETTABLE?

This Farm made my family close to each other. Farming became our bonding time during weekend and a happy pill to one of us . The one we love the most is feeding the milk fish and mud crabs πŸ¦€πŸ¦€.

You know, the felling of excitement when we feed them is really superb. Just when you got on the boat, the fish start coming at you. When you get their food and put it on your hand and place it the top of the water, the fish start jumping at you. (this moment is really my best part... uuuhhhhh !!!... that's really awesome, I'm sure you will always smile when you experience it ).

You can touch the fish while feeding them?. Yes you can !! Amazing right ? But of course you can't do that to mud crabs πŸ¦€πŸ¦€ (hahaha). Their two big cheliped with sharp claws is always ready to grip you in an instant once you attempt to touch them. Fortunately, I didn't experience it yet and I'm not hopping it to happen. hahaha (the professional one can easily grab them. How about me? Well I'm not a pro but I can handle them πŸ˜„).

MISSING MY PLACE

The man in the picture is my older brother (my mortal enemy). He always send pictures flexing his catch. He always message me

"Hey brother, looked what I've got! Fresh wild shrimp from the pond", or

"Hey brother I just harvested the root crops in the mountainside", and

"Hey brother, we just harvested the milk fish".

He always send messages to me with pictures flexing everything . He think I will be jealous!? me jealous?, Of course..... I am hahahaha.

These pictures make me crave the taste of Taro, the taste of fresh wild shrimp and makes me reminisce moments with my family. Especially when he sent that big mud crab πŸ¦€!. When I saw it, the taste of its meat quickly pop in my head. The juiciness and tenderness of its meat makes me crazy!! UUUHHH!!! What the f... I really miss "MY PLACE". ( I think I will decide to go home because of these photos..πŸ˜†πŸ˜†)

MY QUICK VACATION

Yes!!.. I had a short vacation last April 2021. My two weeks leave had been approved by my supervisor.

Its almost two years since my last visit in Samar. This is due to restriction of visitors coming from other islands because of the pandemic. And when the restriction lifted up, I grab the opportunity to book a ticket for my quick vacation. (Actually one factor why I decided to go home, are the pictures that my brother sent me πŸ˜†)

In my video, you will see the iconic Sanjuanico Bridge. It connects the island of Leyte and Samar. It is 2,164 meter in length and constructed during the President Marcos administration.

Upon my arrival, I needed to stay first in our Farm (Uma ni Pedro) for the meantime (which also I like). This scenic view welcome med. The fresh air, the silence around me, the sound of birds, and the calmness of the water whispering in my ear saying Welcome Home.

This green water of the stream calling me when I arrived. So after 20 minutes of rest, I quickly dive and felt again the warm water of the stream. ( hopping their is no crocodile in the area hahaha).

The next day, this beautiful sunrise gave me wonderful greetings while taking my morning Coffee.

I felt relax when I'm in the hearer. I really feel the sound of the province, the sound of "MY PLACE".

I suddenly slept at that moment... but a loud voice woke me up. They were shouting my name "INTOY! INTOY! INTOY! WHERE ARE YOU?! I needed to wake up to see who were coming cause I'm really not familiar with their voices anymore and when they were approaching Ooooooohhhhh Shh.....t. I got some STUPID Visitors hahahaha (just kidding). They are my lost brothers from another mother hahaha... my childhood friends and relatives.

They brought 2 gallons of "TUBA" that surely made us drunk! hahaha (suddenly the glass of wine start running out). (Tuba is a red wine, a waray-waray term. It is made of coconut juice and "barrok" the additive one to make it red.)

We start asking each other what we were doing now in life, what are our plans. We also reminisce the memories we had in the past (of course talking girls is part of our agenda hahaha).

EATING FRIED FROG

One of the unforgettable thing we did that time is we tripping to catch frogs hahaha.. yes we did and make it as viand for our dinner hahaha. It is my first time to do it and eat an exotic food. I'm excited and also nervous because I know there are some frog that are poisonous.

Because of our craziness... it happened. Look at the pictures, we enjoyed the moment like the old days.

Actually I hesitated to eat first but when I finish my first bite I couldn't stop eating until the last one hahaha... yeah like Oh my God.. How it become delicious like this?! can we get more?

The taste is really delightful. You can't think it's a Frog.. hahahaHow about you? Do you eat frog?!

(Reminder: not all frogs are edible. Most of them are poisonous. Make sure to know it first.)

KINDOT ISLAND

The fun with this crazy people is not yet done. They joined me until my last day of this quick vacation in Samar. After that unforgettable exotic frog last night we decided to unwind in deserted Kindot Island. It is located in Villareal Samar Philippines.

We brought more crazy people with us. We ate seafood in the area and do a little bit of photoshoot. We do some stunts and jump shoot.

(Actually when I saw the output of the pictures, I don't know if I will be amazed or just laugh hahahah.. because I imagined the frog we ate last night with their poses hahaha)

What do you think about the pictures? Which one is your favorite?

I would like to end this blog with my realization in my quick vacation.

"That wherever you go, working in another place and building your self for the future; We will always keep looking for the place we call HOME. The place that you love with genuine crazy people."

And that's my |#LakwatsaniIntoy Diary 001|. Thank you for dropping in my little Hive room.
