In this conversation we let fear take a back seat and we allow Love and authenticity to jump in the passengers seat to co pilot.

We do not loose sight of the fact that we are driving at each moment.

Dr Paris Williams is a Psycologist, an Ecologist and a world champion hand glider and coach. In this conversation Dan and Jono have a conversation with Dr Paris Williams and dive deep into his thoughts about the Covid 19 response in New Zealand and how fear shapes our behavior and the way we think and how the world occurs for us.

Its an authentic look at the governments response and its affects on the people in NZ.

This is not a comfortable conversation and may be confronting for some.

The conversation ends with looking at how we can break through this right and wrong, us and them mentality and allow for all of everyone's needs to be met and for everyone to be heard.

This is an incredibly honest, real, and authentic conversation grounded in research and science while being deeply connected to love, acceptance and empathy.

In this episode Dan and Jono have a super fun chat with Findal Proebst from Lincoln University and Terra Levo.
Starting life in a biodynamic and organic family and with a hunger for learning (and a dislike of Palmerston North) Findal found himself at Lincoln University studying all things soil.

Once deep into his studies, Findal had learned all about chemistry and Physics but very little about biology.

With his upbringing allowing him to understand complex living systems, Findal wanted more from his studies.

He started to focus more on the questions than the answers.

He learned that learning was so much more than accolades and qualifications, it was to him about letting go of ego and embracing the un known.

Findal has a passion for redefining research, science and culture.

We are sure you will enjoy this one!

In this episode Jono catches up with Jon Lundgren from Blue Dasher Farm and Ecdysis.

Jon is an exceptional communicator and is doing great things in the world of bringing science to the farming communities of the world.

Jon realized that in order to do this he needed to put himself in the farmers shoes.

Jon was a scientist for the USDA for over a decade and all the time he was there conducting science around risk assessment and how to control insect pests with chemicals, he believed there must be a better way.

Although Jons heart was telling him this, he had no idea of how to do things differently because he had not put himself in the farmers shoes, and that what he was doing was simply standard best practice and all he knew.

Jon attended some local no till field days and discovered that the no till farmers had no insect pest issues. This was a turning point for Jon.

He realized that these farmers were creating ecosystems with such biodiversity that if any pest insect came into the picture they would be devoured by the many beneficial predators.

Jon became fascinated with Regenerative Agriculture and started to discover that this now more complex way if thinking needed a different scientific approach.

When he left the USDA after discovering the link between Neonicatinoid seed treatments and the decline of butterfly and bee population, Jon decided to become a farmer himself and conduct the research through a different lens.

Blue Dasher and Ecdysis was born.

Jon mentions how there is a sense of urgency right now, and that "its not so easy to jump back onto a cliff"

This is a very powerful conversation, one for all to benefit from.

Please share far and wide.

We hope you enjoy!

Many people across NZ are demanding hard data and science with regards to what we call regenerative agriculture, and in a NZ context.

Distinguished Professor Steve Wratten from Lincoln University talks about his career researching, documenting and teaching just that.

In this episode Steve talks about his extraordinary career as an agro ecologist.

From fascinating facts on the economic value of various ecosystem services, to Steve's thoughts on some of the challenges our agricultural sector faces with a business as usual approach.

I just love Steve's approach and the way he educates.

Using great analogies, humor and even song so the information really lands with her students.

Having supervised nearly 100 PhD students, and lectured thousands more
Steve has made a massive contribution to New Zealand agriculture and has impacted many peoples lives for the better.

He continues to do so from lecture halls to his office high up in the Burns building at Lincoln University.

Tune in for this wonderful conversation with an extraordinary man.

Nicki and her husband Roger Beattie farm on Banks Peninsula.

They are organically certified and have a diverse range of income streams based on and around the farm.

From their Wyld Lamb and wool products, to NZ Kelp even growing blue pearls in Paua shells, its safe to say Nicki lives a full life!

In this episode Nicki talks about her fascinating experience treating patients and the changes in best medical practice over her time spent as a doctor.

From Margarine to Butter.
Fat is bad to fat is good.
From antibiotics being the answer to a focus on nutrition and diversifying the gut biome.

From little to no allergies to now where we see allergies everywhere, her journey in the medical world is very similar the treating of symptoms in farming we have observed over the last 50 years.

Nicki has been a qualified medical doctor for 40 years and has a very deep understanding of the importance of nutrition and mindset with regards to your physical and mental health.

This understanding made it challenging for Nicki to follow the generic "protocol" of giving out synthetic treatments to cover up symptoms in patients during her time as a practitioner when she knew a lot of these problems could be prevented by addressing the root cause with nutrition and mindset.

Tune in to this fascinating conversation about human health.

This is the first episode after a fatal car crash in which Jono and his 2 children were seriously injured.

After weeks in hospital nursing 15 broken bones and some new titanium hardware Jono had plenty of time to reflect on how grateful he was that his children were OK, how miraculous it was that they had survived and just how precious life is, Jono thought it would be a good idea to do an episode of TPASP on his journey so far.

Jono had also been thinking about having his younger brother Ben on the show to talk about all that he was up to and so Jono thought, why not have a chat with him and make an episode on the two of them seeing as they had each witnessed most of each others journeys and transformation.

Jono and Ben discuss how childhood experiences can have such a profound impact on how our lives turn out, especially when we do not identify and get complete with these experiences.

The Bwos also talk about being victims in life and in relationships and what it took for each of them to break out of that mentality and take responsibility their being in the world.

This is a lengthy discussion full of gold nuggets and really tells some great story's of two boys developing and growing from small comfortable lives to stepping way out into the skinny branches of discomfort and building on integrity, authenticity and ability to make a difference for others and the world with lots of hurdles and challenges in the middle!!

Grab a coffee, chuck on your headphones and enjoy :)
