"Hashmarks," explores the thinking of today's military, veteran and business leaders who are leading their families, themselves, their team, their market. and their community. All leaders can learn from others successes as well from their not-so successful experiences. We will talk about how we navigate our families, the military and business world. As well as talk about how we navigate the tricky road of transitioning from one job to another.
Aaron is a husband, father, full-time graduate student, full-time worker as well as a Marine veteran who served for twenty years.
Life is tough get a helmet, Chris and I catch up and talk about leadership, transition out of the service, transitioning from job to job and dealing with the ups and downs of life outside of service. Oh yeah we also get a little mushy with each other!
In this episode Jeremias and I talk about how the previous two weeks went for him as well as what does leading with gratitude mean and how we can apply it in our lives.
In this week's episode, I had a good conversation and a little sip with a great friend, Evita Mosqueda Major, USMCR. Be honest, and don't BS your people!
Show Notes: I recorded this episode as part of a school project in the fall of 2021. The audio is not clear, but the message is great!
This episode is the beginning of a series of mine episodes or "minisodes" with my two boys. As their father, I want to not only show them how a leader acts at home but want them to start demonstrating those leadership traits and skills in their school, class, and teams. I'll work with them and my goal are to continue to invest in them to develop them into fine young men in the future. I feel we all do as parents. They also have been wanting to do the podcast so why not have them continue to learn and develop through these minisodes! I think my oldest gives me a compliment in the end...... you decide!
In this week's episode, I caught up with a friend and mentor, John Abbracciamento MGySgt, retired USMC. Leading does not have to always be in the corporate world. John and I talk about guiding, mentoring, and developing outside the Marine Corps.

Imagine with me if you will. You are on your long commute from work and find a new podcast only to realize at the end that you cannot relate to the information or even apply it the next day. I understand exactly how you feel. I have searched for new leadership podcasts that I can use for personal growth and development, only to find that it revolves around the c-suite and executives. Do not get me wrong; my goal is to make it up the corporate ladder eventually. Until then, welcome to "Hashmarks - A Leadership Podcast."
I am your host: Aaron, and I am a husband, father, son, Marine Veteran, full-time graduate student, and full-time employee for a large corporation. When I left the Marine Corps after twenty years of service, I struggled to find a job that matched my Marine skills; on top of that, I left the service just as the covid pandemic hit our country. I quickly realized that I was not qualified for many of the jobs I applied for. I took a humble job load material for a steel company before I decided to go to school and accepted an internship for a manufacturing company. As I began to learn this new career field, I always set myself apart, using it to my advantage. I could lead, develop and build winning teams. While I built rapport with my colleagues, I realized that I could leverage my skills from my time in the Marine Corps to help teach and develop their leadership skills.
Hashmarks is just that! It is a podcast for the everyday leader who has not made it to the executive level and is working their way up the leadership ladder. So I ask you to join me as I have candid conversations with military leaders, those leaders who have left the service and now are conquering the corporate world, and I hope that we can all grow in our personal and professional development!
This is Hashmarks!
