We start at Galatians 5:1 and go through 5:10.
Pauls tells us that it is "For freedom that Christ set us free". We discuss what this used to mean to us and how Grace revealed this passages true meaning.
We then talk through the idea that if we decide we have to fololow any of the law, we must follow the whole law. We also discuss "The only thing that counts is faith expressing itself through love."
GALATIANS 5:1-10
1 It is for freedom that Christ has set us free. Stand firm, then, and do not let yourselves be burdened again by a yoke of slavery.
2 Mark my words! I, Paul, tell you that if you let yourselves be circumcised, Christ will be of no value to you at all. 3 Again I declare to every man who lets himself be circumcised that he is obligated to obey the whole law. 4 You who are trying to be justified by the law have been alienated from Christ; you have fallen away from grace. 5 For through the Spirit we eagerly await by faith the righteousness for which we hope. 6 For in Christ Jesus neither circumcision nor uncircumcision has any value. The only thing that counts is faith expressing itself through love.
7 You were running a good race. Who cut in on you to keep you from obeying the truth? 8 That kind of persuasion does not come from the one who calls you. 9 “A little yeast works through the whole batch of dough.” 10 I am confident in the Lord that you will take no other view. The one who is throwing you into confusion, whoever that may be, will have to pay the penalty.

Here, Paul uses an allegory to explain the difference between living under the law and living under grace.
Paul is teaching that we are not saved by our works or by following the law, but by God's grace through faith in Jesus Christ.
Galatians 4:21-31Hagar and Sarah21 Tell me, you who want to be under the law, are you not aware of what the law says? 22 For it is written that Abraham had two sons, one by the slave woman and the other by the free woman. 23 His son by the slave woman was born according to the flesh, but his son by the free woman was born as the result of a divine promise.
24 These things are being taken figuratively: The women represent two covenants. One covenant is from Mount Sinai and bears children who are to be slaves: This is Hagar. 25 Now Hagar stands for Mount Sinai in Arabia and corresponds to the present city of Jerusalem, because she is in slavery with her children. 26 But the Jerusalem that is above is free, and she is our mother. 27 For it is written:
“Be glad, barren woman,
you who never bore a child;
shout for joy and cry aloud,
you who were never in labor;
because more are the children of the desolate woman
than of her who has a husband.”[e]
28 Now you, brothers and sisters, like Isaac, are children of promise. 29 At that time the son born according to the flesh persecuted the son born by the power of the Spirit. It is the same now. 30 But what does Scripture say? “Get rid of the slave woman and her son, for the slave woman’s son will never share in the inheritance with the free woman’s son.”[f] 31 Therefore, brothers and sisters, we are not children of the slave woman, but of the free woman.
In this Episode,Ajai, Mark, and Tim discuss Galatians 4:1-20.
Paul opens this section of his letter to the Galatians with an example to show that they have been redeemed and adopted as children of God through faith in Jesus. He then goes on to urge the Galatians to embrace their new identity as children of God and not return to their former ways of living under the law. Finally, Paul urges the Galatians to return to the spirit of love and faithfulness.

Speaker 1 00:00:23 Hello, and welcome back to the unveiling with your hosts. AJ, mark, and Tim. This is episode 25. And for those of you who listened last week and heard at the end, me proclaiming that episode 25, that was my mistake. This is actually our 25th and we are still in our series on the holy spirit today. I'm gonna say, AJ, we haven't heard you kick off a show in a while, and I think you have a topic that you wanna talk about as far as what the spirit does with, to, and for us. Why don't you take it from there?
Speaker 2 00:00:59 Yeah. Thank you, Tim. And it's good to see you both as always. So today, uh, one of the truths that we want to discuss is, uh, holy spirit was given to glorify our Lord Jesus Christed. So I'm going to read from John chapter 16 from verse 12 to 15. And after that, you know, we can, uh, go a little deeper into that. Uh, John chapter 16 from verse 12 to six 15, I still have many things to say to you, but you cannot bear them now. However, when the spirit of truth has come, he will guide you into all truth for, he will not speak on his own authority, but whatever he hears he will speak and he will tell you the things to come. He will glorify me for. He will take off what is mine and declare it to you. All things that the father has are mind.
Speaker 2 00:01:50 Therefore, I said, he will take off mine and declare it to you. So here we see that holy spirit came to glorify our Lord Jesus Christed. It says he will glorify me. So before going into how he glorifies the Lord, Jesus Christed, I would like to kind of, uh, go into the scriptures and see how the holy spirit, uh, his role in the scriptures. You know, even from the beginning, he is present in types and shadows, even the old Testament. In fact, you know, many, there are some parables and there are also some stories in the old Testament that point to the holy spirit. One of the passages that I would like to go to is, uh, Genesis chapter 24, Abraham was old and he was well advanced in age. And the Bible says, Lord blessed him in all things. And so Abraham said to the old servant of his house who ruled over all that he had, he tells him, you know, go find a bride for Isaac, right?
Speaker 2 00:02:54 Many men of God say that here, the servant represents the holy spirit and Abraham is God, the father and the bride is a church. So from the beginning, the holy Spirit's role is to actually unite the bride with the bride groom, who is our Lord Jesus Christ. So in this example, we see that the whole servant, you know, he goes, and we know the story, right? He goes to the land of the fathers and then he finds Rebecca and he brings back. And then, you know, of course, Isaac marries Rebecca. So here, the type and typology is Abraham is got the father and Isaac is the son. And the bride is a church. And the old servant is the, uh, holy spirit. And we also see holy spirit coming in, uh, other parables. We know the parable of the, um, great supper, right in Luke chapter 14, 16 to 21, it says, then he said to them, a certain man gave a great supper and invited many.
Speaker 2 00:03:57 And he sent his servant at supper time to say to those who are invited, come for all things already again here, the picture is, you know, the holy spirit is going out to find the bride for Christ, right? From among us. He's going out, preaching the gospel so that, you know, church can be built. And then this whole thing is a preparation for the great day of, uh, the marriage feast in heaven, even it's in revelation. It says on the great day of the marriage feast the bride, the church, the

Hello and welcome. Or welcome back to the unveiling with your hosts. Hij Mark and Tim three guys just discussing the one true gospel. Well, we are still in the middle of our holy spirit series. This will be the fourth episode in this series, and we've got a couple new topics to bring up tonight. And I think I'm gonna go ahead and Mark, I think I'm gonna let you start off tonight with the holy spirit introduces us to, or teaches us about the parent child relationship that we have once we're saved with our heavenly father.
Mark 00:00:55 Yeah, I think that's, uh, thanks, Tim and AJAI Uh, I think that's such an important role of his and our life this year. I've had a theme in my life. Some of you probably know that just from listening to the podcast, those who have, and just how important the gift that God gave us of reasoning of being able to think I've mentioned it many times. And as you're reading scripture, if you just watch, watch how many words that the apostles use, uh, that are words for thinking reasoning, pondering, reflecting on meditating, uh, contemplating as we use that gift, it brings us understanding. And through that understanding is where our transformation comes. It's where joy comes from and our deep knowledge of the father, our son, and holy spirit. Um, it's where love comes from. It's just, it's just such a revolutionary thing to understand. In fact, God's given us his spirit for that reason.
Mark 00:01:54 He tells us, uh, so that we would freely understand everything he's given us. And one of the things he wants us to and are all the things Christ has done for us on the cross. It's a lack of knowledge of these that I think really differentiates believers. It's why the people that are still trying to live under the law are afraid to trust in the grace and love of God alone and rely on Christ completely it's cuz they don't understand as AJ's put it. Everything that happens to us at the moment of our salvation. It's not that we're saved to neutral and God just took our sins away. It's he's made us new creations. Christ himself has come to inhabit. He's made us the righteousness of God. He's taken us out from under that old system of doing it ourselves of trying harder and just putting our focus on Christ, contemplating him and being transformed into his image with ever increasing glory as our understanding of who he is and who we are a good pastor, a friend of mine once said this.
Mark 00:03:08 He said it's of utmost important that every believer understands their identity in Christ, but he said, it's just as equally important. They understand who Christ is in them. And, and so we're gonna start the discussion now on just the holy Spirit's role of teaching us, you know, and you I'm gonna start with who we were before we come, came to Christ and then just show the high state to which Christ is he's purchased for us. And he's called us too. And he calls us now, this is what God calls us. And we need to choose to believe who God thinks we are not who we think we are, who our broken past, tell us we are who other, maybe well-meaning Christians tell us we are, but what does God say about us and is spirits the wanna reveals that? Tim 00:00:23 Welcome to the unveiling with your hosts, AJAI and Mark, and Tim. Now last episode, we started a conversation about the holy spirit, and I think we talked about the introduction of the spirit basically to the Christians in, in the new Testament. But we also expos that the holy spirit has been, you know, part of the Trinity of the Godhead for, for eternity. And we showed that he was throughout the Bible from Genesis to revelations. So today we're going to take a slight pivot. And I think we're going to start talking about the mission, the, the job of the holy spirit, so, so to speak. And some of that is tied up in the names of the holy spirit. So we, we may refer back and forth to them because like I mentioned, in Hebrew, a name is very important because it is considered a descriptor of the person who holds that name. But I don't want us to go ahead and dive right in. And so unlike last week, I am not going to start us off. I'm going to pitch this on over, and I'm going to say, AJAI, good evening. How are you doing? What have you got to bring to the bring to us today?
Ajai 00:01:31 Hey, good evening, Mark and Tim. It's so good to see you again as always. Yeah. So we are going to continue our, um, discussion for lack of better word of the holy spirit. And last time we talked about the person of the holy spirit, mostly. So now we want to, uh, talk a little bit about the work of the holy spirit or the ministry of the holy spirit or the role of the holy spirit in our life. So we've been talking about law and grace, the whole covenant and new covenant, um, for a long time on this, uh, podcast. And we know the two covenants, right? The old covenant and the new covenant. It's also called the law and grace and many a time. Uh, people think, you know, about the holy spirit. They relate the spirit more to the law, just like the law about do this.
Ajai 00:02:24 And don't do this obey the law. You'll be blessed. And if you just obey the law, you'll be cursed. They basically, um, put holy spirit also in the same light, you know, holy spirit, this person, or the holy spirit tells me if I obey the holy spirit, I'll be blessed. And if I don't obey the holy spirit, I'll be cursed. But you know, I want to bring to light that, you know, actually the holy spirit is not in the law. In fact, we talked about it several times. You know, if you are under the law in Galatians, it says you cannot be led by the holy spirit. So in fact, holy spirit on the side of grace, and in fact, we could not know grace or the new covenant, unless the holy spirit actually revealed it to us.
