A large percentage of humanity has no clarity regarding God’s purpose for their lives. This is such a critical need, even in a practical way. Notice that even among the elderly, the thing that often enables them to withstand physical and mental challenges is their sense of purpose, of usefulness. Well-meaning caregivers have actually, inadvertently, sometimes crippled those whom they love by taking away all responsibilities. Though the elderly one may need to be “protected” from some functions, if that person who has been the breadwinner, the mover-and-shaker all his or her adult life has a sense of being reduced to child status (at least in his or her estimation), there can be a loss of a sense of dignity and self-image. They have defined themselves by their do-ing all these years. If there is now “nothing to do”, do-ers tend to fade away, physically, psychologically, totally. Wow. Give that person something to continue doing, something that he or she views as significant. It can cause life quantity and quality to be extended.

The fact that many unbelievers AND many believers do NOT have a sense of divine purpose and assignment makes them collectively a “marginalized majority”. Through a lack of “assignment awareness”, too many wander through life never really locking in upon their “why”. Religious indoctrination that most of humanity will be lost and damned in hell has aided in fostering this mentality among the masses. They observe others who seem to be clear, the exceptional ones who are “chosen,” but they see themselves as outsiders, outliers, and thus are effectively marginalized. They comprise a grand quorum of untapped potential, unrealized possibility. This absolutely has to change if we are to make the God-impact to which we are called, both for time and eternity.

In this week’s episode, host Michael Blue continues the series “Knowing Your Assignment” by taking a closer look at “Know Your Successor.” Mentors must acknowledge that there will arise a developmental need that the mentee has – a need that this leader does not have the ability to supply – and that the leader will direct that understudy to another resource or resource person, intentionally. Leaders grant their successors permission to grow beyond the leaders themselves, permission to be-come.
Unbeknown to his followers, John the Baptist is preparing them for a future without him, i.e., without his physical presence. Sometimes a relationship of this kind can be so fulfilling and affirming that we presume that it will “last forever”. However, a wise leader knows better and accepts the solemn truth that they must get successors ready to succeed without their physical support. There is a necessary urgency in preparing the next generation for the next stage of destiny realization.

One of the outcomes of knowing one’s assignment is “satisfaction”. The satisfaction of a man or woman on divine assignment in the professional arena is threefold: 1) the glory of God, 2) the good of people, and 3) the gratification of oneself. When you do what you were created to do professionally, it will accomplish all three of these.
Another major aspect of one’s calling is to prepare the way for “the next”. Why would a leader do such a thing? It is because the development and success of his or her successors means more than his or her own “need to be needed.” This may be uncomfortable for all parties, but it is necessary. Listen to this episode as host Michael Blue explores both of these topics with his live-streaming audience.

Material wealth attainment CANNOT be the goal of the professional because it cannot satisfy the human heart. It must always be a MEANS, but never an END. It is the lowest rung on the ladder of satisfaction. However, it is a legitimate level of satisfaction. God has no problem with material profit as a fruit of the Kingdom Professional performance. It is the hyper-religious who demand a vow of poverty from the people of God. God Himself sets forth the precedence, from the Garden of Eden to His interactions with the patriarch, that it is His pleasure to see His people abound materially. Yet, these resources are not to be hoarded in an idolatrous, covetous grip. The Scriptures instruct the wealthy believer to maintain vigilance, humility, and an attitude of generosity for the good of those who have much less than they do.

In this episode, host Michael Blue describes how God shaped his perspective and has given him a passion to teach the Kingdom of God and to enable believers to understand that God’s intention for us is to “take over” the systems of this world through the power of the Gospel. The takeover that God instigates has nothing to do with natural weapons or warfare. His takeover utilizes Galatians 5:22 and John 13:35, the fruit of the Spirit, I Corinthians 12:8, the gifts of the Spirit, can TAKE OVER in every realm through supernatural excellence in his or her performance and in his or her personality. The Bible says, “His banner over me was love.” Song of Solomon 2:4 He conquered with love. Love – not coercion, not military force, not protest, not oppression, not brutality – it is love that God has used throughout history, and still uses, to overwhelm culture. The world has no defense (and needs none) against the LOVE of God in the lives of his people. It is irresistible! The indwelling Spirit of God empowers the performance and the personality of His representatives to stand out in stark contrast to the darkness of this age. And people, all people, LONG for love. God’s love is the only satisfaction for the human heart. All these things that the world invests millions of dollars attempting to teach, i.e., customer service, civility, high ethics, these things are only fully derived from the Greatest Commandments in their essence: “Love God. Love people.”

God has established a reward system along with the callings that He bestows. If you serve well in that which you are called to do, there is a “paycheck” associated with it. God has given you a gift. That gift is a means by which you are to govern. The outcome of this governing – positively impacting and influencing the world around us – is threefold in this order: the glory of God, the good of people, and the gratification of the gifted one.
Satisfaction does exist in the material wealth realm. However, it is the lowest level of fulfillment. Fulfillment may be the smile of a recovering patient, a sincere thanks from a client, or the achievement of your student: money cannot equate to the pleasure derived from knowing that you had a hand in these matters. As a Kingdom Professional, if you fulfill your assignment, you may expect satisfaction in varying degrees and dimensions. The greatest is the joy of knowing that you have pleased God. But after this is the reward of people’s good, which will also result in your personal gratification. It is God’s Will that His faithful stewards and collaborators shall ultimately and fully be satisfied.

The greatest satisfaction for a Kingdom leader, teacher, or mentor is to know that he or she has pleased God. The second greatest is the success of the follower, the student, or the mentee. Leaders work to make themselves progressively unnecessary in the lives of those whom they lead. If the leader has not continued to grow and evolve, he can see the growth of the follower as a compliment and a threat simultaneously, because he or she is not needed as before. All leaders must continue to individually develop so that their identities are not defined in a transitional function.

In this episode, Michael Blue explores the question, “Whose assignment is dependent upon mine? That is, whose be-coming is contingent upon my obedience to God so that he or she will receive what it takes for success through my life?” Parents, teachers, mentors, pastors, etc.: all of these people are responsible for conducting their assignments with sensitivity to scheduling – we do not have forever to prepare the way for those who will come after us, AND to prepare the individuals themselves who will succeed us. We do not have long. Timing is critical.

Of the nine components that we have identified as integral to knowing one’s assignment, this episode focuses again on knowing one’s schedule. Having a sense of a schedule inclines one to pursue wisdom regarding the time that remains in his or her life, to optimize it for the fulfillment of the assignment. When we juxtapose the life of John the Baptist against the life of Jesus Christ, we see that John’s schedule, and the management thereof, is critical because he is only six months intra-uterine before Jesus’ conception. John has only a limited amount of ministry time to prepare the nation for Him and to present Him as Messiah to the nation.
We should protect that sense of urgency that moves us to DO something NOW. Jesus Himself was sensitive to His schedule. He stated, “I must work the works of Him that sent Me while it is day; the night cometh when no man can work.” The night is coming. Yes, physical death but also, the end of seasons, opportunities, etc. Curtains will fall upon a particular act or scene. Jesus was “straitened” (KJV) regarding His purpose, Luke 12:50. In the Book of Mark, He moves “straightway” and “immediately”, repeatedly, portrayed as the ever-diligent Servant of the Lord in that Gospel. He is preeminently our Example, to be circumspect regarding the management of time.
The significant consequence of finishing the work within the time allotted is satisfaction, the inner fulfillment that comes from the completion of the allotted task. The Scripture says that the desire accomplished is sweet to the soul, Proverbs 13:19. The sweetest taste to the soul is when one has pleased God in the assignment. There is inimitable satisfaction in knowing that one has done his or her best to fulfill divine purpose.

To fulfill one’s assignment, it is essential that he or she would know that the assignment has an associated time constraint, i.e., a schedule. Psalm 90:12 says, “So teach us to number our days that we may apply our hearts to wisdom.” It means that we must ask God to help us properly manage time – a challenge for many professionals.
John’s ministry had to be in place, in full flow, by the time Jesus’ public Ministry was to begin. Shortly after Jesus’ Ministry begins, John’s would start to diminish and finally end. John’s ministry schedule overlapped with Jesus’ schedule. Therefore, John didn’t have long to fulfill his assignment. He had to grasp the importance of his schedule. If we, as Kingdom Professionals, do not manage time, time will master us. We will not achieve all that of which we are capable of. The deeper reality is that time management is self-management. Except for divine intervention, we can do nothing to affect the flow of time itself. Only God can control time. However, wisdom informs us that we may control ourselves and other factors with discipline relative to the passage of time: forethought, planning, and strategy.
We must understand that our assignments have a schedule. What a difference it would make in how we live and how we serve, professionally and wholistically, if we kept the consciousness before us that “I don’t have long.” The quality of our existence would be dramatically impacted if we understood how deeply everything we do is affected by the clock and the calendar.

John the Baptist was sent to the Nation of Israel. Like Jesus Who came after him, there is no Biblical evidence that he did extensive ministry outside his homeland. However, apparently decades after his death, Paul went to Ephesus and found followers of John the Baptist, Acts 19:1. How had a message preached around the Jordan in Palestine made its way to one of the most prominent cities of the ancient world? We do not know for sure, but one thing is certain: the impact that John made on his disciples and others was so profound that it traveled beyond his borders. When one is focused and faithful to the God assignment, there will occur the “Splash-Over Effect.” What is the ”Splash-Over Effect”? It is that phenomenon that occurs when people find out that someone has been consistently and effectively serving in a particular domain and they see the need to study the service model, study the individual, and attempt to emulate it in his or her own sphere. It is virtually impossible to be faithful and focused and not end up having impact beyond one’s initial scope, whether geographical, socio-economic, or other. John’s message went beyond him. Jesus’ Message has gone to the ends of the earth. And the Kingdom professional who fulfills the calling will reach beyond the obvious.

When one is called to a system, one evidence of that calling is an insatiable curiosity about that system, an incessant intrigue regarding it. This leads us back to “Know my SKILLS.” If God calls a person to a work, He gives him or her capacity for that work. There very well may be the need for further training, mentoring, and experience, but the rudimentary abilities already exist. However, if there is no evidence of capacity in an area, year after year, perhaps this area is not one’s assignment. Moreover, one of the primary purposes of a pastor, a mentor, or a coach is to lead a person on the path of discovery of those skills and how those skills converge in the fulfillment of a God-ordained SERVICE.
It is futile to exert energy in envy of someone whose gift set may seem more desirable than one’s own. What is best is to seek to excel in pleasing God in what He has given. Then, it is Biblically consistent to request of God as to whether it is His will to bestow another measure of grace upon you. Nevertheless, the final word rests with Him. It is enough for the Kingdom Professional to use what God has given, in order that the assignment may be completed well. Know that He is the Author of the Kingdom Metanarrative. If there are negatives in your personal story, remember that He is also the Editor of that part of your narrative, causing all things to work together for good.

Before we get to the main topic of “Knowing My Assignment” we have a bit of an ice breaker based on the observance of “Kool-Aid Day” this month. Kool-Aid? It is a brief, humorous, then bittersweet discussion about the power of language, colloquial and dialectal, and how critical it is about how important the management of language is to professional success.
We then resume pointing out the fact that when one does well in life, people become interested and inquire as to his or her origin. John the Baptist’s “know my service” is twofold: he is to prepare the nation for the Christ and to present the Christ to the nation. John the Baptist’s ministry set the stage and prepared the atmosphere for the explosive, earthly ministry of Jesus Christ. By knowing his assignment, John the Baptist provided an essential service in God’s great Redemption Plan.
As this episode rounds out, Michael Blue and his streaming audience explore the idea of prophecy. The most essential dimension of prophecy is the understanding and proclamation of the written word of God, the Bible. Everything true and good is based upon the Bible – otherwise, it is not true or good. Beyond that, the Spirit of God may, witness to the spirit of a child of God concerning the will of God in a particular situation or for a particular person(s). God’s witness may be dramatic, but more often than not, it tends to be very subtle. If one is a Kingdom man or woman, there is a prophetic dimension to whatever his assignment, i.e., he or she may not be an Ephesians 4:11 prophet, but because “the testimony of Jesus Christ is the spirit of prophecy”, Revelation 19:10, the prophetic pervades every aspect of what he or she does. Expect your work and your words to reveal in a clearer way to others. Prepare your heart accordingly. You are a Prophetic Professional.

One of the most important aspects of learning one’s assignment is determining what one’s assignment is NOT. The job market and its electives are so diverse that there is virtually no limit to the possibilities our young people may aspire to. This makes for difficulty in many lives because one’s attention can be spread so thin that it is hard to focus on finding one’s true assignment. How fortunate is the one who is clear on what his or her assignment is not!
It is easy to become enamored with or even envious of what we see in someone else’s life. However, the gifts that God has deposited in you, when they are optimized, are more than adequate for you to fulfill your assignment. You may not be known for a certain manifestation of the Spirit or of God’s wisdom, but if God is present with you, then anything that God does -- He is capable of doing in and through you. Nevertheless, there is a particular area, a particular agenda of God for you. Identifying your gift set can aid you in discovering and fulfilling His calling on you.

In this fourth installment of our series on “Knowing Your Assignment”, we dive deeper into the life, and the assignment, of John the Baptist. John had been told by the Father that the Messiah would be confirmed to him by this sign: the Spirit of God would descend upon Him and remain. When Jesus appeared, John apparently was shocked at Christ’s request to be baptized, and that by John. John was clear that he was unworthy to baptize Jesus. Yet Jesus insisted, “Suffer it to be so now: for thus it becometh us to fulfill all righteousness.” (Matthew 3:13-15) And because he was instructed by his Superior, John complied. John the Baptist was uncomfortable. Yet, for John to disobey the instruction of Jesus, even upon the accurate assessment of his own unworthiness, would have been rebellion.
There will be times when your assignment will put you in a position that is quite uncomfortable. That discomfort may derive from the fact you know there is a lack of qualification for this new placement or demand in life, business, or ministry. When you know you’re not “worthy”, and you know that there are others who know you’re not “worthy”, it can cause grief. Yet, often your superiors will see in you more than you see in yourself: indeed, that is one benefit of having a superior. Moreover, if the task is your divinely appointed assignment, you CAN and you MUST take it in stride. The grace of God will make you able.
This episode also includes an interview with Pastor Anthony A. Dicks. Listen as he talks about his newly published book “Holy Hardship: How Jesus Turns Your Adversity into an Advantage.” Visit www.holyhardship.com or https://aadicksjr.com/ to purchase a copy of Anthony Dicks new book.

Proverbs 14:8 says, “The wisdom of the prudent is to understand his way.” Understanding who you are, and why you are as you are, is priceless information. And the fundamental way that we learn ourselves is by learning God: He is our DESIGN, Genesis 1:26. God IS our Blueprint. And in interpersonal and our most intimate relationships, if people don’t know our divine BLUEPRINT, the quality of our relationships will be limited.
Additionally, Kingdom Professionals must know their SUPERIOR(S). Despite all the grace that was upon John the Baptist's life, he had to know that there was an assignment to which his own assignment was supplementary. John understood that though he was a great prophet, conceived in a miraculous manner, he was not the Messiah. John had to accept that he was to prepare the people for Christ and then he was to present Christ to the people, but that he was not Christ. And as he fulfilled that, Jesus highly complimented John the Baptist, stating that among those born of woman there was none greater than he (Matthew 11:11). Likewise, when you fulfill the assignment that God has allotted to you, there is none greater than you are, for no one can do what called has called YOU to do the way YOU can.

Everyone wants to matter, to be important, to “be somebody to somebody” in some context. This instinct has sometimes been misguided or exploited, but in its purity, it comes from God Himself. All of us were created in His Image and after His Likeness, and though we lost certain aspects of these, God is indeed GREAT; therefore, we are drawn to a sense of greatness ourselves. What a blessing it is when we learn that greatness is only found in Him and derived from Him! One of the ways that He unveils His greatness in us is through our fulfillment of His calling, our divine destiny. Each of us has been placed on the earth for the general purpose of knowing Him and making Him known. But, within the general purpose, there is a special purpose with specificity, an assignment.

In this week’s episode, we continue our emphasis on “God of the Macrocosm”. He is God of the Big Picture: it means that all things in their purity belong to Him. The false dichotomy, the false antipathy between sacred and secular, and between spiritual and natural is a religious construct that has done much damage. In particular, it has hindered the embrace of Kingdom perspective and perception. This is one of the most vital principles for a Kingdom person to embrace.
This episode features an interview with Bishop Noah Rocker, Jr. of Bessemer (greater Birmingham), AL who shares a powerful testimony of the dynamic of Kingdom partnership. Bishop Rocker and his congregation acquired a worship and ministry facility that seemed to be incompatible with their status at the time: providentially, it turns out to have been perfectly appropriate for housing what is becoming a cutting-edge academy specializing in aviation, aeronautics, and other related technological training for young people. What this exciting development in one region in Alabama illustrates for Kingdom people in every region. We are consistently given the opportunity to do what we are called by God to do: to raise up leaders in every sector and every industry of our culture. This is for the glory of God and for the good of people.

Magnify the Lord! Why? It is because He has been diminished in far too many eyes. To magnify Him is not to make Him larger – God is Infinite. Instead, it is to make people’s perception of Him larger, and therefore clearer. To ensure that God is rightly seen, there are some things that are to be settled truths, particularly for the Kingdom Professional, and for Kingdom people in general. In this episode of the Fellowship of Kingdom Professionals, Michael Blue provides six truths that are a part of the basis for the Kingdom Professional to grasp God’s perspective and to augment how God is perceived among those who do not know Him, in the marketplace and in every place.

This week’s episode, recorded on Memorial Day 2022, dives deeper into the topic of spiritual warfare and the Kingdom Professional. You will recall in last week’s episode, Michael Blue discussed how the Kingdom Professional must be aware of the truth that he or she may experience opposition when he or she attempts to do that which is right and good, opposition that may not be mere human resistance but a deeper, spiritual adversity. This week, we continue the conversation on how the Kingdom Professional must be aware of the powers of darkness and become equipped to fight against them.

It has been commonly stated that “there are no ‘big sins’ and ‘little sins’ – they’re all just sin!” Yet, we learn from Scripture that there are some sins that are more egregious than others (See Exodus 32:30-31, John 19:11, Hebrews 10:28-29) In the Ten Commandments, the first prohibition suggests that idolatry is the worst sin: “Thou shalt have no other gods before Me,” Exodus 20:3. Idolatry, the replacement of the true and living God with a false god, is the ultimate transgression. It is so for many reasons, but one of the most poignant is that “idolatry is adultery.”
In this episode, Michael Blue discusses how the Kingdom Professional must be aware of the truth that he or she may experience opposition when he or she attempts to do that which is right and good, opposition that may not be mere human resistance but a deeper, spiritual adversity. Yes, when you are endeavoring to be honest and honorable, to bring about excellent service, and to treat people with dignity, there must be awareness that Satan and his cronies will war against it! This understanding is not designed to make the Kingdom person scared – just prepared. The Lord Jesus Christ said that He has given us power over all the power of the enemy, Luke 10:19. Greater is He that is in the Kingdom Professional, than any opposing power – natural or supernatural - that is in this world.

One interesting observance during this month is “Be A Millionaire Day”. In this episode, host Michael Blue takes the observance as an opportunity to contemplate God’s perspective of material wealth. It is important to do so because one of the prospective and logical outcomes of professional excellence is the acquisition of material wealth. Even more importantly, no honorable profession, vision, or venture on the earth can be fulfilled without the support of material wealth. Would it surprise you to learn that statements such as “Money is the root of all evil,” and “Wealth (or power) corrupts,” represent unscriptural perspectives?

Psalm 34:3 reads, “Oh magnify the Lord with me, and let us exalt His Name together.” To “magnify” is to cause an object to be seen more largely and consequently more clearly. In this episode continue to grapple with the issue that some people, who think that they hate God Himself, actually hate what some of His followers, or purported followers, have presented to them. Misrepresentations of God can be transgenerational, passed down through families and regions. Our view of God is critical because it determines how we see everything else. Our perspective of God determines whether we are racist, sexist, nationalistic, globalist, pro-life or pro-choice, etc. Listen as Michael Blue and his streaming audience discuss how to frame your perspective of God.

An example of a believer allowing the glory of God to shine in the workplace is Mrs. Sonia Marie Johnson, of the DMV. In this episode, a riveting conversation with Mrs. Johnson occurs in which she shares about, having learned the story of Joseph, the eleventh son of the Bible patriarch Jacob. She tells about her startling realization that the trajectory of her life journey parallels the life of Joseph to an amazing extent. She experienced rejection from her family and landed in the arms of a church family with Pastors that received and nurtured her. She has known stark poverty, but she, her husband, and her household have seen God become her ladder as she climbed up and out into a position where now she consults with high-level professionals providing strategies to those who are specialists in their field to build out the business side of their practices and disciplines. “I was taught how to practice medicine, but no one ever showed me how to ‘run a business,” is the kind of sentiment that she hears from many. Consequently, she, like Joseph, is being positioned by “kings” (high-level business owners) to structure their “kingdoms” (corporations, franchises, networks) for the fulfillment of their dreams.
Listen as Michael Blue explains why embracing the Joseph principles is essential for all Kingdom professionals. Though they have dreams of their own, they must prioritize interpreting the dreams of others first --- before their own dreams will be fulfilled. And God is faithful: investments in the divine dreams of others inevitably produce dividends, the rich return of one’s own visions coming to pass.

As a Kingdom Professional, you need a conscious grasp on the power of your story. On a practical level, the resume`, the vitae, bio, or your personal profile can make the difference regarding your movement within the profession: hiring, promotion, and other positive developments. On the personal level, the story of (or stories from) your life is one of your most compelling resources: few things connect one person with another person as effectively. Motivational speakers tend to skillfully utilize their life stories as a bridge into the hearts of their hearers. The Apostle Paul used his story, his testimony, repeatedly, as access to the intrigue of his listeners. It became a platform for his message. He did not make the mistake of making his story his message: no, the Gospel was his message; however, his story was the Gospel’s platform.
The second emphasis goes deeper into the truth that God is Macrocosmic: as pertains to this world and everything in it: it ALL belongs to God! Unfortunately, well-meaning religionists and ignorant cultural commentators have taken whole aspects of the human experience and relegated them to Satan. For example, certain days – or cities – or artistic expressions – have been definitively characterized as “the devil’s stuff.” October 31 (Halloween) has been called the devil’s day. Las Vegas has been labeled “Sin City”! “13” has been called the devil’s number. Wrong! All things were made by God and for God, Colossians 1:16. Every good gift and every perfect gift come from Him, James 1:17: Satan possesses no talents or abilities to give anyone: he owns nothing. Satan is, however, a thief. He steals that which belongs to God and perverts it. As a sad consequence of the abuse of God’s gifts, many past and present believers have denounced these abilities and activities altogether. Listen to this episode as Michael Blue discusses how one determines the right or wrong application of these gifts and how you can navigate what is proper or improper activity for believers.

God is God of the Macrocosm – He is the Artist of the “Big Picture”! There have been instances in which believers have departed from the faith because they have been led to believe that the faith of Christ is too narrow – provincial, primitive – to encompass that which is contemporary or modern. However, the “narrow-ness” of which Jesus spoke as the way to eternal life is a narrowness of focus and priority, not a narrowness of mind. All truth is God’s truth and is therefore universal, macrocosmic.
In the conclusive, powerful interview with Mr. Daniel James II, we are presented with a practical “picture” of how Kingdom principles can impact young lives. In this instance, the God-lens has propelled the young man through an Ivy League education (Cornell University) and has prepared him for world-class graduate work (the prestigious Schwarzman Scholars Program, pursuing studies in Mainland China). This is particularly striking when juxtaposed with the fact that Mr. James originates from within a context that is rural, Southern, impoverished, and African American. Contrary to toxic misconceptions held by far too many people within the Church and outside, a Christian worldview does not “narrow” his aspirations away from greatness: it fuels them! These principles are shown to work favorably, not only for Baby Boomers and Busters, but Millennials and Gen Zs can also find substance for purposeful living within the teachings of the Kingdom of God. Mr. James demonstrates that, rather than rambling around trying to “find oneself,” through the light of Kingdom perspective a person may locate his or her true identity as a world changer --- in Christ. God is not only the Supreme Aesthete in the physical world – He imparts the greater beauty of life-enhancing character and competence from within. With this greater beauty, the Kingdom professional is armed to go forth as a portrait of hope, into all the world.

In a dynamic interview with Mrs. Launa Brown, the proprietor of a well-respected cosmetology business and an events decoration company, “A Beautiful Experience,” she expounds upon how Kingdom principles are the origin and energy of her expanding enterprises. Listen as she explains how she has come to understand that she is “laboring together with God,” I Corinthians 3:9, and that the Kingdom principles, e.g., Genesis 1:26-28, taught in her local church and The Fellowship of Kingdom Professionals (FKP) have become foundational to her success. Despite the fact that she met with detractors and naysayers incredibly early in life, she was able to triumph through the faith instilled by her mother and through applying Biblical precepts. She has embraced a BIG view of God and it has created a BIG view, and manifestation, of His possibility in her. And she is not done because He is not done: she is overcoming by BE-coming, walking out the truth that He is God of the Macrocosm. He’s BIG. And the more we can help people to view Him accurately - BIGGER, (“Oh magnify the Lord with me…” Psalm 34:3), the BETTER all of us will be.

In this week’s episode, we continue with our focus on Hannah, as she arises from the pages of Scripture as a symbol of the individual who has a practical need to be productive, a personal desire to be productive, and yet a prohibition from productivity. As a result, she has fallen into bitterness, a poisonous condition of the heart and mind that can contaminate not only her but also all that she touches. As it turns out, Hannah’s practical and personal desires are still not as lofty as God’s desires for her.
In the second half of the episode, Michael Blue discusses the role of “doers” in the Kingdom of God. Doers are challenged first to operate like God. Then, the streaming audience discusses the need for doers to receive and accept help. Finally, we address the need for doers to remain consistent in their doing.

When we encounter Hannah in I Samuel 1, she is carrying an ever-increasing “bitterness of soul”. There are factors in Hannah’s journey and ours that lead us from the bitter anxieties of unfulfilled dreams to the sweetness of productivity. What becomes apparent is that God’s design for Hannah was infinitely greater than Hannah’s desire. What Hannah wanted was 1) a social safety net and 2) bragging rights. What God wanted was a prophet who would identify and mentor one of the greatest progenitors and prefigures of the Lord Jesus Christ Himself. She wanted to give birth to temporal security. God wanted her to give birth to eternal destiny. Therefore, He shut up her womb until her purpose was submitted to His.
Moreover, God used Hannah’s frustration to bring her around to a place of surrender. She “poured out her soul before the Lord.” In a prayer of consecration, she emptied herself of the bitterness that had filled her earlier. We notice that soon after her soul was emptied of bitterness, her womb was filled with a son. Her desire was accomplished; her soul experienced sweetness. How many professionals are serving in bitterness (toxicity, poison) because they want the right thing but for the wrong reason? God, in His providential mercy, will sometimes cause a delay in success because if the goal were to be achieved in bitterness, the attainment itself would be contaminated and fall short of God’s purpose and the individual’s healthy sense of personal gratification. If you are carrying bitterness within, for whatever reason, just know that God awaits you – He will let you, help you, to pour that poison out in His Presence. Then He will lead you to fulfillment of His Purpose. This is the ultimate sweetness for your soul and for every aspect of your life.

This week’s Kingdom Professionals conversation begins with a bit of an interview with Co-Pastor JaShawna Bellamy as we acknowledge “Social Workers Month”, about her present journey in this profession. Next, we reflect again upon St. Patrick’s identity as a Kingdom man, as differentiated from the frivolity associated with the celebration called “St. Patrick’s Day”.
In the final emphasis of the conversation, Michael Blue discusses DOING. One’s doing is the fruit of his or her BEING. Because we were created in the image and after the likeness of God, and God is a DO-er, DOING is a vital part of our sense of self. God has one two-pronged Work, His Big DOING with which we are called both to collaborate and to emulate: HE MAKES THE WORLD (Genesis 1-2), and then after man falls, HE MAKES THE WORLD BETTER. Even so, every task that we undertake ultimately reflects His Work: we are called – in some distinct way - either to “make a world (system)”, or to “make a world (system) better”.

In this episode, host Michael Blue discusses how culture is the greatest determinant of how people live, love, work, and play. In businesses, culture is critical to morale and productivity among workers, with all the factors that contribute to it. Toxic cultures are to be reformed when possible. If not, they must, like Abram’s, be relinquished and replaced.

Jesus came to restore everything and everyone to God’s original Intention. This was inaugurated with His First Coming and will be consummated with His Second Coming! In this episode, Michael Blue discusses that in the present day, He intends that we – all of His people - would give those who do not know Him the opportunity to “sample” the power of the world, or age, to come.

What would happen to people if we understood that although there are instances in which many of us were deemed by our parents or by society as mistakes, accidents, and undesirables --- God disagrees? What if we understood that what He said to Jeremiah is intended to give insight to all of us? “Before I formed thee in the belly, I knew thee; and before thou camest forth out of the womb, I sanctified thee, and I ordained thee a prophet to the nations.” Jeremiah 1:5 This is what God said specifically to Jeremiah, but the understanding is that it applies to every human: that He foreknew each of us, that He meticulously scripted a plan for each of us, and that He decreed its glorious end before it ever began. God made YOU and ME, and He has never made a mistake!
Another liberating realization for the entire Body of Christ, particularly for Kingdom Professionals, is the truth that the Reformers taught: the “priesthood of all believers.” The fallacious divide between “clergy” and “laity” has rendered the majority of the church’s population officially impotent by feeding non-preachers the idea that their “secular” work is not significant to God. In doing so, in the minds of many, God is relegated to operate in one room, the “sanctuary” of our worship centers. However, Jesus said, “In My Father’s House are many rooms”, John 14:2, RSV And yes, the “rooms” refer to the eternal dwellings of those who are redeemed (commonly referred to as Heaven), but the rooms also refer to “dimensions” in the Kingdom of God. In this episode, Michael Blue discusses how those rooms manifest in this age as cultural influencers, various realms, or spheres of influence. And God desires to place each of us in an optimal place to have optimal impact for His glory and people’s good!

God reveals Himself by the various covenant Names: Jehovah-Jireh (“The Lord will see” or “…will provide”), Jehovah-Rapha (“The Lord heals”), Jehovah-Nissi (“The Lord my banner,” The Lord gives victory”), and others. These Names tell us more about God than what is obvious. They not only tell us what God does: they are names. A name also tells us who a person is. God does not merely give provision: He IS provision. He does not just give healing: He IS healing and health. He doesn’t only give victory: He IS victory. In other words, God’s DOING is the fruit of His BEING. His “Is-ness” is His Business.
Even so, the professional’s DO-ING is the fruit of his or her BE-ING. The doings (the professional behaviors and achievements) attest to the being. Therefore, we must always present with excellence, because the excellence of our doing reveals the excellence of our being. And we need not fear that excellence in presentation is not appropriate in a context where there is no excellence in compensation. In other words, “They don’t pay me enough for that level of excellence!” is an unacceptable excuse for ineptitude among professionals. Two things: first, a lack of quality in my performance does not speak of my employer, aka “they;” it is a commentary on me. Secondly, excellence in presentation can make any vocation lucrative. If “I” (the professional) effectively manage my excellent product/presentation/commodity, no one external to me can limit my profitability. Again, doing is the FRUIT of being, and Jesus said, “By their fruit ye shall know them.” The performance is how you will know THEM – not their boss, not their company, not their salary --- THEM. In this case, THEM is ME. If my doing reflects my being, I must strive to ensure that my work will always convey Kingdom excellence. Like God and for God, “My ‘is-ness,’ and HIS, is revealed in my business.”

This week’s episode was recorded on St. Valentine’s Day. Listen as Michael Blue and his live audience dive into the journey of the Father of Faith from Abram to Abraham. Hear as they explore the idea that Abraham's life is a study in the ongoing theme of “Being, Be-coming, and Doing.” Paul states that this kind of transformation occurs by the renewing of the mind. God sets up a literal journey, a series of encounters, experiences, and movements, by means of which Abram is transformed. The Bible gives us the privilege to sojourn with Abraham through this odyssey of his be-coming, beginning at the end of Genesis Chapter 11 through Chapter 25.
God did this because he had a unique plan for Abram’s life with all its particularities. Abraham is a model for all humans: “… in thee shall ALL the families of the earth be blessed.” Genesis 11:3 This causes us to confront the truth that irrespective of ethnic origin, color, or creed God has a plan for every individual to “be-come” something greater, for the glory of God and for the good of others. And if each of us will obey Him, if we will follow Him on the transformational journey He has tailor-made for our lives, He is going to make something uniquely great of us in every realm of being – be-coming - doing, including the professional!

God places a high premium on work! It is no coincidence that in the inspired Word of God --- the first Book, the first Chapter, and the first Verse --- when we initially encounter Him, it is a workday, His workday. We get to walk with Elohim through His Work Week! How unfortunate it is that so many professionals live only for the weekend, not appreciating that God is God of Monday through Friday, not only God of the worship day! And after completing His daily increments, the Creator reflected upon His work and “saw that it was good”. The week culminates with His seeing that the whole job was “very good”. He was gratified through His accomplishments and through the processes thereof. Accomplishment pleased God. Accomplishment gratifies us as well. In this episode, join Michael Blue and his streaming audience as they explore the idea that you were designed to accomplish, to achieve, to do that which is significant.

Mark Twain is reported to have stated, “I can live on a good compliment for six months.” In this episode, we explore the practical implications of this week’s holiday observance called “Compliment Day”. Dr. Gary Chapman, in his classic book series, The Five Love Languages, teaches that the first means of communicating love – is “Words of Affirmation”. Words, spoken and written, are one of the great tools of great leaders. All people need affirmation in some respect, and words convey affirmation more readily than almost any other means. Listen as Michael Blue examines the power of the understanding that each human being’s sheer existence is a compliment to God.

During this week’s episode, recorded on the national observance of the Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. holiday, we recognize him as a classic example of leadership. Leadership is God’s will for all humankind according to Genesis 1:26-28. Even still, there are mental blocks in popular perspectives that hinder people from seeing themselves as leaders. Listen as Michael Blue explores ideas and dunks conventional thoughts surrounding the role of the leader versus the follower and ultimately provides an answer to the question, ”Are leaders BORN, or are leaders MADE?"

Because we humans were created in the image and likeness of God, we are essentially spirit beings because God is Spirit. Yet, because our domain is the earth, He gave us "houses of earth", i.e., bodies, in order for us to fully interact with the earth. Then, when He housed our spirits within our bodies, we "became" living souls. And ever since, the soul has been the "site of becoming". The soul is technically the psychological aspect of our personhood, sometimes also referred to as the mind. Once a person's spirit has been reconnected to God, the next most important step is to have his or her mind renewed. By doing so, that person can progressively display the invisible, intangible God and His will in this visible, tangible realm called the earth. By changing his or her perspective through the Kingdom lens, a person's "BE-ING", in the eternal plan of God, now "COMES" into time: he or she BE-COMES. You already exist, to God's delight: Satan could not stop you from BEING. His whole agenda now is to stop you from BE-COMING. But you are victorious. By God's ability, you will not be stopped. Listen in as host Michael Blue and the live streaming audience explore these ideas in the context of your place as a professional in God’s Kingdom.

Welcome to The Fellowship of Kingdom Professionals, FKP, the Podcast! How do you see your world? "Seeing" is the greatest determinant of - or deterrent to - purposeful living. Did you know that a barrier in our life perspective can create a blockage in our life performance? Did you know these barriers comprise a toxic, confining, compart-mentalization? One such barrier is the false dichotomy between "secular" and "sacred". Believers and unbelievers alike tend to associate God with Sunday (or Saturday for some) an hour or so of rather mystical activities replete with a steeple, stained-glass, and pews along with singing, sermons, and, of course, offerings. Then, on Monday, we go back to real life. Breaking our reality into pieces has never been God's plan for us. He is the God of Monday through Friday just as much as He is the God of Sunday. As a matter of fact, when we are introduced to God in Genesis, He is not in a cathedral: He is on a construction site, wearing not a "crown", but a "hard hat". It's a workday. In the beginning, God CREATED. And that's what He created you to do - to know and to collaborate with Him. And what is He doing when we meet Him? He is making a world. And then, when His world becomes damaged, He labors to make the world better. That's it! He makes the world; He makes the world better. Think about it - that's what you do every day that you go to work! Every profession, occupation, or job boils down to two elements: make a "world" (produce some product, service, system), or make a world better (invent, explore, innovate). When you become aware of this, you've just begun on your journey of discovery and re-discovery of your true purpose, calling, and destiny! You are not merely called to religious activity for a couple of hours once a week - as fulfilling as that may be! You are summoned to the side of your Father / Creator / King as a Kingdom Professional! Monday through every day, you are His co-regent for your sphere of influence: to make some world, and/or to make that world better. So now it's time for a new perspective, a new way to see: God, ourselves, and our world. Be sure to subscribe today so you never miss an episode. Let's glow, grow, and GO- together!
