After being diagnosed with cervical cancer Suzanne was forced into early menopause which pushed her to make some significant lifestyle changes alongside the challenges of a divorce. From all of these lived experiences a real passion was born.

Bea is very open and honest about her experiences with childhood bullying which still effects her to this day. But what is so refreshing is how she has turned that dark place around and used it in her writing and creativity and inevitably made ‘the bullies stop the bullying’.

At Funny Bones Creations Stacey creates Northeast inspired artworks and gifts and it was brilliant to hear her exciting new venture with her planned children's book. You cannot begin to imagine the absolute trauma Emma and her family went through when Lydia fell and ended up in an induced coma.

Thankfully Lydia's recovery was nothing short of a miracle and in turn gave Emma the reality check she needed to crawl out of a really dark hole linked to facebook and social media.

Today was an epic day. Me and the Lounge team of Legends welcomed 7 new lasses to our first ever round of the Level Up Program in an inspiring in person session at Newcastle. The program has been created and worked on for a whole year to make sure it was nailed on!....and boy is it nailed on. We cannot wait to support these amazing business owners and help them reach their business goals over the next 8 months. There was an absolute buzz in the room from the word go as we talked through goal setting, self-belief, vision board magic and did the big reveal of who would be working with who in the team.

Today I'm not lounging at all because today my fella Gaz Dicko get's interviewed by our Ruthos. The only brief I gave him was to be honest - probably a bad idea now that I think back over the years of our crazy lives...but it will be entertaining to say the least. I really wanted to try out getting a perspective of someone living with a business obsessed entrepreneur.

Gary is my absolute best mate and has been there for me and Jake since Jakey boy was 1 year old. We have our ups and downs like any other couple in the world and although Gaz and I can be a tad unpredictable at times, I don't think we could be in a relationship with anyone else. Our crazy works for us. We both have very addictive personalities and it can become quite competitive in our household over stupid things but we understand each other like no-one else could even begin to.

My word this is an episode lasses! Today I am lounging with Lins Brown, queen baker of the Northeast and owner of 'L' of a Bake a local food business renowned for indulgent brownies and tray bakes. Lins talks so honestly and openly today about suicidal thoughts, self-doubt and not wanting to go on. Through all of this Lins managed to turn her feelings around with the help of the lounge community but mainly because of her WHY - her son Ben. Ben has lots of additional needs which Lins talks in detail about today to hopefully reach others in the same situation needing support. Ben is the reason Lins works tirelessly to grow her incredible business for his future and because she has an absolute passion to deliver the best possible products for her customers, she can only go on to great things.

Every monday I am now completing my 'Ta-Da' list thanks to our Sarah-Jane Phelps who has encouraged me to do more reflecting of achievements as I simply was not doing this enough!

These last couple of weeks have seen some epic wins and I wanted talk about a particular one today from our Ruth because it has caused a bit of a ripple effect. Ruth was on BBC Breakfast News, she posted in the lounge about how this has been a journey of confidence growth from a really dark place. That single post in the lounge has encouraged many to speak up about their mental health and has certainly inspired me to realise how powerful The Northern Lass Lounge is and even on weeks where I feel immense overwhelm ....I will go back to posts like Ruth's and remind myself why I am doing this.

I have put this interview off for ages because quite frankly I had no idea what would come out of my best mates gob OR which direction the chat would go in. Jemma Thompson is a fitness instructor who I met through competing in bodybuilding competitions. Jemma has been my absolute rock through many of the personal things we talk about today ....things I rarely talk about. She is also a fantastic inspiration to many many lasses who are members of her fitness groups or who follow her authentic unapologetic self on social media. Lasses, this conversation has a lot so a couple of trigger warnings - self doubt, self sabotage, body dysmorphia, food issues, women's weight and the dark side of body building. The episode superbly ends with of course a good dose of female empowerment which is what Jemma is all about.

Please be also be aware this episode is very sweary, it is marked as explicit for a reason but this is how real Jemma is and how her business is so impactful to the people who she trains...because she is real and calls a spade a spade, and that is why we are best mates.

There are also parts of the audio that have had to be snipped out as Jemma is sat in a field in her car and her son is being a typical 12 year old and is shouting and banging through the window as his rugby practice finished early - the audio is slightly muffled at times or has been edited out.

Today I'm lounging with Kat Paylor-Bent, founder and Chief Seamstress of Seated Sewing. A business she set up after being made disabled 15 years ago. Kat tells us about the challenges she came across when trying to find a job as a disabled person which in turn made her set up business. The way Kat approaches her disability is simply amazing with a boat load of positivity which helps her to embrace the world around her. Kat has recently featured at London Fashion Week as well as taking Seated Sewing into the first adaptive retail space in London. In this interview we chat about how her business is taking off in a new direction where Kat will be providing consultancy for small businesses who need support in making their companies more inclusive.
