In this episode, we discussed about the Gerson Therapy. It’s a type of treatment that was devised by Dr. Max Gerson in early 20th century. The therapy was basically based on a plant-based diet. He claimed to have received significant success rate in his trials with his patients through change in their diet plans. The Gerson therapy is supposed to cure patients by switching their diet to more fruits and vegetables based including juices. Gerson therapy has also been claimed to treat cancer patients. There have been cases reported where Cancer patients have recovered through this therapy. Like Gerson Therapy, Ayurveda has also strong principles around our food intake. Ayurveda also suggests that human body can be cured through dietary discipline. What we are and what we become is basis what we eat, suggests Dr, Kanika Verma. Here it all from her.

In this episode, we discussed about the curability in Ayurveda. Disorders have been broadly classified into three as per Ayurveda, Saadhya (the ones that can be cured), Yapya (the ones that can be managed through measures or medicine) & Asadhya (the ones that can’t be cured). Some diseases are also said to change their curability factor over a period. There are diseases like Vitiligo, which if not cured in a timely manner, can move into the category of becoming incurable, says Ayurveda. Also, placebo has been identified as a primary treatment in Ayurveda. There are cases of patients suffering from Cancer, autoimmune diseases who have cured themselves through placebo. In today’s times, curability can be redefined, and things can be given fresh look, says Dr. Kanika Verma, here it all and more from her.

In this episode, we discussed about the natural urges of human body like sneezing, yawning, urinating, hunger, thirst etc. These natural urges play a key role in maintaining our metabolism. Usually, urges are split among two segments, input, and excretion. In today’s times, we are getting more cultured towards supressing our natural urges to suit our so-called social etiquettes which is leading to severe disorders. Urges can also be defined as body based and mental. It is strongly recommended to not to hold your natural body urges like urge to urinate, yawn sneeze etc. but we should try to control our unhealthy mental urges which can be something as basic as over-eating or eating unhealthily, etc. Hear it all and more from Dr. Kanika Verma
