It's Wednesday, and that can only mean one thing! #wednesdaywalk ! Such a simple initiative, but it shows us all four corners of the world, from Jay in Massachusetts to me in Cape Town!

This post is actually inspired by two different people - @whatsup and @donnadavisart 💜

@whatsaup - because we were speaking about my neighbourhood, and she told me how she always thought of Africa previously as dry and dusty, before hearing from a fellow blogger about it.

@donnadavisart - because I saw her do a video of her #wednesdaywalk , and I just thought it was the coolest thing ever

While my video is not narrated or with the beautiful ASMR sounds like Donna's, I did put it to some music and play with the editing.

I've been wanting to figure out how to digitally export videos to a slow frame speed for a while, all on mobile, and I finally did figure it out!

I was going for that jerky, vintagey vibe and was actually quite pleased with how it came out.

This video was taken a few months ago in our cooler months, and I just love how cold and gray it was back then

I live in a very green area of Cape Town, where it is mostly families and older people, and everyone really takes care of their garden.

I just love walking around, seeing the flowers and gardens, and especially in the colder months, smelling the wood smoke and feeling the crunchy leaves

I am also a mad cat lover and have made friends with all the buddies in the hood. Some are so shy, and some a little more adventurous. And some I might just steal cuz they are so cute. They better watch out!

I'd love to see your neighbourhood! Lets all do a neighbourhood walk!!!

What is up, Hive Fam? You know by now that I work in a magical antique shop, where we sell and restore all kinds of beautiful things

One of my absolute favourite things is to see broken, rusted pieces of furniture be transformed into gorgeous, useable beauties!

In this video I made, we take a look at the process of restoring old garden chairs

We first welded and repaired the frames. We then treated the metal with a special anti rust treatment and sealed this with a bronze tinted clear glaze

Then, we cut the boards and foam for the cushions and upholstered them with a special out doors vinyl is this lovely olive green.

I think they came out so well! What do you think?

Hey Hive Fam, What is up! I thought I would share a little video I made for work. We bought a huge staircase on wheels with the intention of having it there if clients would like to see the very high lights up at the top

The view from the top is pretty epic and it's really cool to see the lights from another angle. You can really appreciate the scale and detail on the larger pieces.

I am deathly afraid of heights though, LOL - being up there was okay, but going down those stairs was a bit scary!

What do you think? Would you climb the ladder if you were here?

What is Up, Hive Fam?! 😘 My day job is running and managing a very special antique shop, where we specialise in chandeliers. We also make chandeliers to spec - that is, should you require a certain style or shaped chandelier, we will design and make from scratch... that's right!

This chandelier was specifically designed for a client who had a large space, but a low ceiling. They couldn't have anything too long or dangly, but wanted something glamorous and quite modern.

So, we came up with this design. Modern, elegant and full of crystal

Watch the vid to see it being made and installed in our showroom. Let me know in the comments what you thought of it!

What is up Hive Fam!

Today I want to share with you a little video I made for my vintage clothing Instagram page

I specialise in vintage leather jackets, faux furs and designer bags, but always wanted to get into Doc Martens. I think they are an iconic brand and have always been a fan

I listed a few pairs on my store that I had sourced in my town, and they sold pretty well. While researching a specific style I found a seller who had a huge collection of dead stock (never worn, new in the box) shoes.

And so I bought a few pairs from him, and decided to make a video of myself opening the boxes and checking out the stock.

I hope you enjoy, and let me know if there's any shoe you see that you'd like to know more about!

What is up Hive fam! I've been chilling out hard thepast few weeks, it is Christmas after all, but I have been itching to try 3speak, so I guess, here we are

When I'm not taking care of my vintage clothing business, something I love to do is try new and different recipes. I took some time to visit my fave Korean grocery store and get a few new ingredients, and a delicious Kimbap veggie roll. YUMZZ.

It's the first time I'm trying 3speak, and so I thought I'd use some footage I already had on my phone - so apologies for the vertical angle, I'll work on that next time, creating content strictly for 3speak

hahha, ps, I hope @dswigle doesn't mind me tagging this #marketfriday on a Wednesday, it is that week between Christmas and New Years where no one knows what day it is, after all

Hope you enjoy this little glimpse into my holiday life

A very African Christmas indeed!

So, here in the Southern Hemisphere, we have Christmas in the Summer. It's the best thing ever.

We spend our holidays braaiing (barbequeing), swimming, being outside in the glorious nature, and just having the best time ever.

Christmas holidays are a very special time for me, I love to spend time with my family and friends and just truly relax and enjoy the break.

This Christmas we smoked a gammon on the weber. It was totally EPIC.

It took a total of six hours to smoke, plus another where we glazed and then grilled the ham.

It was sooo juicy and totally and utterly DELICIOUS! We have had leftovers for days now and I have had it in so many ways! I've made a poke bowl, had it on sandwiches, had it for brekkie with eggs, you name it!

What did you do for Christmas, and what did you eat?
