Podcasts that help you learn about a specific area such as history or science.

Or real stories that we can relate to like we are talking to a friend or hearing a story that’s happened.

I talk about 4 areas of the podcasting journey that include tech side of things. These are:

Audio technica 2100x

Descript
Libsyn, Podbean, Buzzsprout

Welcome to another episode, today let’s explore the notion of thinking no one would listen to your podcast and the creeping in of impostor syndrome and combatting it.
I talk about what impostor syndrome means, and that even seasoned podcasters also feel a sense of 'Who am I to do this?'
I want you to embrace your unique voice. There is no one in the world like you to share your message.
Don’t go from 0-100, but realistically start small with your podcast and strengthen your ability to reduce the thoughts and feelings of impostor syndrome. And grow from there as your confidence increases with your podcast.
Embrace feedback and take constructive criticism in your stride and make improvements. You’re competing against yourself to be better at the next episode than the last episode and grow as a podcaster.
Celebrate your wins, no matter how small and making a conscious effort to celebrate the win will reinforce your confidence and minimize the impostor syndrome.
Get yourself into a supportive community with people who know what you’re going through in your podcasting journey. This makes a world of difference.
Remember your why and grasp it and use it to remind yourself through the times that impostor syndrome and self-doubt start to creep into your head again. Knowing why you’re doing your podcast show will be what keeps the momentum going.
Hello!! In this episode, I talk about what filler words are and how to minimise their use, so that you can have an effective message each episode of your podcast.
I am a culprit of using the filler words and have been working over the years by becoming conscious of them and trying to use them when necessary.
I share how we can use the power of the pause to make that impact when sharing our side of things when speaking on a podcast as well as other exercises to help with having a concise and impactful episode.

In this episode Rosie shares some ways to get around the thought and belief that you don't have enough time to get your podcast going and keeping that momentum.
Podcasting is nothing as I had imagined it. I initially thought it was plugging a mic in and pressing record and thinking that was it! But as we know there is a but more to it. I used the idea of not having enough time as an excuse, but once I was able to set up a routine to podcast, it became much easier.
Here are some things to help you carve out that time to work on your podcast efficiently as possible.
Statistically 7 episodes in and you can start to have pod fade. Seventy Five per cent of podcasts don't make it past episode 7 and way less make it past episode 21.
So keep up the momentum by implementing the things above to make sure you do have time to podcast.
Welcome to episode 21 about where to include advertising in your podcast, what to look out for and what you can do to strategically include advertising in your podcast episodes.
We talk about the 3 types of advertising you can include and some other ways you can use advertising to create awareness or even sell your podcast or service.

Hello, and welcome to episode number 20. As you saw in the title, the word studio is in air quotes. I want to explain this to you. This is because I have learned and with my students that we don't always go or are able to go into a well padded floor to ceiling studio room with a radio quality mics and have the ability to book that room whenever we want.
And you know what? A lot of podcasters won't have even stepped foot into a traditional studio but have successful podcasts all the same. While don't get me wrong, the sound quality of a podcast is super important when it comes to recording your podcast, but these days, there are ways around that and you can set up your own quotation marks, 'Studio' at home. So let me share a few things with you about that so you can set up your own podcast studio, just like that and get recording sooner!
Different Mics:
Samson Q2
Headphones - Make sure they're plugged into your laptop/mic so you can hear that feedback and gain an edting ear in where to mark and edit faster later on.
Table/desk set up- Try your best to avoid recording in front of a window as outside noise reflects into your room and can be picked up by your mic. Try and set up against a wall. Try to also sit amongst your clothes in your closet or wardrobe for crisper sound.
Record using your laptop, more to do with how you're reading our notes and controlling your papers if youve got your notes handwritten. think of the scrunching and rustling sound of papers and when to avoid sound overlap.
Keep your set up simple. Use the above tips and keep it lean until you can built your 'studio' up.

It's a minor underlying question that is on everyone's mind at one point or another when creating your own podcast episodes.
There are 3 things Rosie will share with you to help you decide on the duration of your podcast episodes.
Think about the editing process. The longer your episode goes for, the longer you'll need to edit the audio. Are you editing yourself or are you outsourcing the editing?
Depending on the genre, topic/subtopic you talk about each episode will determine the length of episode.
If youre sharing about the news 15- 20 minutes would be ideal.
If you’re doing an interview be prepared for at least an hour.
If you’re talking about a specific topic and go into depth something like the 6 steps to getting/making the best cup of coffee you're going in depth with each step so at least 40 mins.
Up to and beyond 60 mins
Comedy
Society and culture,
Business,
True crime,
Sport,
Health/fitness,
Fiction
Relationships podcasts.
3. Is a 5 minute podcast too short?
This is the minimum to share something valuable. Generally speaking. There are podcasts that are 1 min long and are daily episodes, however will mostly be a mantra, saying, motivational tip or teaser. These podcasts exist, however having a longer duration episode will benefit you in the long term.
Exciting News!

Scripting for your podcast can be the bain or saviour of your podcast. The time that goes into scripting can be enough to throw in the mic and not continue as there are a few things to include in your podcast script.
***In this episode, Rosie shares what to include in a script for your episode, if you don't want to use a script and tips to make sure your episodes flow better when you do script.
An Introduction could include:***
A body (meat and potatoes) to include :
Questions to answer:
If you decide to write out your episode word for word, don't think that time will be of waste. You could use it as a blog post down the track. Although, there are transcribing services for your podcast, writing it out can be an option if you're nervous, or konw you will get off track. You never know, it might be your most listened to episode.
Concluding your episode to include:
What if you don't want to script?
This is also a style of podcasting. If you're a natural story teller and know you can keep your audience engaged, go for it! This will cut out a lot of the scripting processes. I say hooray for you!
I just want you to think about the editing process when going completely off script as it can take longer to edit when you do that. Also, think about your listener and if you're keeping them front of mind with what you're sharing and if they are staying engaged, if you've for those two things covered than go off script.
Summary:
1 -Scripting is definitely \ncessary for your podcast episodes - especially when youre ust starting out.
2-Keeping to the point is really important to ensure your listener stays engaged.
3-Make sure you have an introduction that briefly overviews what you’ll be talking about that episode.
.4-Have the meat of the episode succinct, flowing and to the pont and you can have this part of the script written out in long form or with short dot points to remind you.
5-The ending, you can do a summary of the important parts ( remember ive mentioned in previous episodes, listeners tune in and out) thank your audince, and if you’re really keen share a teaser of what the next episode will be about and have your salutation youd use every episode at the end.
