Art saved my life 6 years ago when I got back behind the lens and out of the whiskey bottle. The need to create and express and the unbridled inner artist is apart of our DNA. This ain't no sobriety podcast, but it is dripping in self awareness and the journey , back slide and relearning in real time the emotional maturity and courageous vulnerability that reenforces that most of the time we are in our own way and it's not about you. Black Lives Matter. Trans rights are human rights. The future is female. https://billiewonka.com/linkinbio
I’m back! The old blonde mare, she ain’t what she used to be I’m a horse of a different color….red to be exact. Been bathing in a mixture of my insecurities, a dash of the blood of my enemies and the tears of all my uteran and maginilaized freedom fighters that I navigate these new waters of sufferage that we find our selves in these days. A stampede of stallions with the wrong ideas can be led to water, but you can’t make them drink the kool-aid.
Lots has changed, more than just my vermillion hair color. I am a Jaquiline of all trades on the open road to freelancing freedom and I know now that this untamed cart can not be tied to one outpost.
Some surprises on the horizon and the worst of the Texas heat is still ahead. Power grid is unstable and the patients are running the asylum in the once great state, but I lead my days with optimistic nihilism and do my best to leave this potato shaped rock in better condition that I found it.
This week we talk procrastination and getting back on the horse.

Reflecting on my past self, preparing for a new chapter and some tragedies amongst my orbit and a re-write was necessary this week. With all that uncertainty, I lean into my fears and dig into the concept of Imposter Syndrome. Please leave me a voicemail, I want to read or play your messages the air. * A swift recovery for Jake Ames and my good pal Alan who I’m so fucking grateful to not have lost and both having been in accidents recently. * RIP Daniel Sahad and Gilbert Gottfired, two larger than life voices that will be missed. This episode is brought to you by my diminishing insecurities and the letter R for “Really?”
Yes, really.

Previously published with tracks from Spotify, this episode is a collection of recordings from Jan of this year until now as I was quitting my job in live music, detoxing from the environment and people that no longer served me. Rediscovering who I am as a creative and the future I was chasing before I took a left turn into the job and eventual catalyst for my indefinite exodus from that unstable landscape. Thanks for listening and please subscribe as that button smash helps me keep doing the thing. Leave me a voice message and I will shout it out on a future episode.
A Disclaimer: This is my personal recount of events and how they made me feel. The names of the guilty and innocent aren't protected because they aren't mentioned....they don't matter to the story other than I had feelings of heartbreak and loss as a result of an incorrect impression I felt about what I meant to them. This isn't about them as I am sure any frustrations from them aren't about me.

Ep. Description Copy I recently reached six years without drinking. Pretty big accomplishment, but I still don’t give myself enough credit. I’m keeping this series separate as to prevent anyone from being subjected to this sort of “rhetoric“ if they are uninterested or not ready. In this first episode in an ongoing series, I talk about my head and where it is at at this point in time regarding plans to move forward. The next episode is all about the things that you can stand to lose if you decide to take the plunge and the third is about ways I succeeded quitting in the first place. Here’s a link to keep up with me on all the things: https://billiewonka.com/linkinbio
