Our grief journey is unique to us; we can often feel misunderstood or may not understand why others grieve differently. Our guest, Dr. Chuck Coker, unpacks how understanding our temperaments and mindsets can benefit us and others' grief process. For more than 30 years Chuck has focused his career on people’s development. Chuck's landmark study released in 2012 capped four years of research in the UK about human data management. He founded LifeThrive to help with the human element in business & organizations. He teaches emotional intelligence worldwide & has authored several books.
In this episode:
Quote of the Day: “Psychologists have discovered that anything past 1.5-2 years is based more on what you think about it than what actually happened. In other words ,you don't remember things exactly the way they happened. If the conversation is focused on 'how did this person bless me, make my life better, and what are the things I can contribute to society that was given to me through this person', now you're focused on the right direction. Because the more you communicate that, the more it becomes reality."Discover your personality & mindsets with Dr. Coker's free assessments!

Quote of the Day: “We live in a culture with social media and all this type of thing that it is like, ‘your best life now’ every day. It’s the most glorious food. The best vacations, these events where everyone is happy. Everything is polished. Everything is good. What we do, especially in the western culture, in our materialistic, relatively affluent (especially to other cultures in the world) culture, is we practice avoidance behaviors. These avoidance behaviors are especially characterized by looking away because we don’t know how to deal with the pain people are in. We need to learn how to help others who are going through grief and pain.”
