Each week Bro. Charlie Winters, Pastor of Cedar Heights Baptist Church in North Little Rock, discusses the state of child slavery within the United States. Partners Against Trafficking Humans (PATH) Director Louise Allison and other guests offer insight into the world of human trafficking. The segment is broadcast each Sunday at 1pm on FaithTalk 99.5FM as well as The Answer 96.5FM in Little Rock, Ar.

Today we get to hear from a pod cast that TAT (Truckers Against Trafficking) did announcing their 2020 trucker of the year. This award is titled the Harriet Tubman award for Harriet Tubman, who was an abolitionist who rescued unknown numbers of slaves.
Today we highlight the song, God Of This City, by Bluetree. This has the in and out music that we use for our program and I thought we might like to know the story behind the song. It was written while the band was playing a concert in a brothel in Thailand at the owner's invitation, he just asked them to buy cokes. The leader of the band was inspired to write the song as they were playing. Quite a story!

Today's story came out Nov 25th on CNN. The headline was that child sex trafficking may not be what we think it is. The focus is that far more children are trying to escape a bad situation than those that are being abducted or kidnapped by someone they have never seen before.
Today's program is about a first in American history. In October the White House announced a first ever directive to unite our Nation's agencies in the battle against human trafficking. God is at work.
Today we get to finish up the interviews that the Attorney General of Ohio had with several different agency leaders about a massive human trafficking sting operation that was recently conducted in Ohio. This was an amazing achievement and we are praying to soon hear of one like this in Arkansas!!!
Today we are going to hear more from the Zoom meeting a couple of weeks ago between the Attorney General of Ohio and several law enforcement agencies. We will also hear today from a rescue ministry in Ohio that is much like our own PATH here in Arkansas.
Today we get to hear from Ohio about a massive, multi-agency sting operation to arrest traffickers, buyers, and rescue victims of human trafficking! Over 50 agencies working together under the direction of the State's Attorney General.
We follow up today with more news about the movie on Netflix, "Cuties." It is now being reported that the backlash, #CancelNetflix has brought about some 600,000 cancellations and costing the company some 8 Billion dollars because of the lost revenue!
And now a story out of Nevada where 3 ladies have filed a law suite against the State. The suite states that Nevada is in violation of the 13th Amendment of the United States Constitution which forbids any form or forced servitude, arguing that having legalized prostitution opens the door for sex trafficking or the sex slave industry to thrive.
Rather surprising news story today! The State of Texas has filed a law suit against Netflix for showing the movie "Cuties" charging that they are airing child pornography.
Today's news is about a University Of Texas, Arlington, who teaches that laws should be changed to allow men to have sex with boys. Unfortunately I did not misstate that.
Today we have a "Newsweek" story about a YouTube site that openly promotes child abuse, child sexual abuse and is degrading toward women. A petition has been circulating to try and get the FBI to investigate the site. The name of the actual site is not mentioned by "Newsweek" out of revulsion over it's content.
Our program today is from the United Nations where Dr. Mofokeng has been elevated to the top position of UN Special Rapporteur on the Right to Health. She has historically advocated for not only the legalization of prostitution, but also has historically encouraged minors to consider prostitution as a lifestyle and a profession.
Today's story is about a "funny" video produced for the "Adult Swim" channel about hurting and trafficking children. Disgusting.
The program today is about a Netflix feature called "Cuties." It sexualizes 11 year old girls. The author said her goal is to draw attention to girls being sexualized over the internet. I'm going ... Right. (smirk)
The news story today is out of the St Louis area. The FBI and other agencies have arrested several people trying to meet up with children for sex. All contacting was over the internet. Another warning to parents about what their children are viewing.
Today we have a story out of the Philippines about how children are being forced to perform sex acts ... live ... over the internet ... and their traffickers are taking orders from the viewing people about what acts to force the children to do, or have done to them. The average age of a child has been found to be only 11 years of age. 8% of the children are only 3 years old or younger. The study is from the International Justice Mission. They are trying to find ways to address this and to end it. Also IJM notes that just because their 3 years long study was done in the Philippines doesn't mean it is not happening in other nations on our planet. Also, 84% of those doing the trafficking are either parents or close relatives.
Today we have a news story out of Las Vegas. We have been told over and over that if we would just legalize prostitution it would do away with sex trafficking. What a croc. Here are some hard numbers out of the "legal" Las Vegas. Turns out that it has the HIGHEST numbers of forced sex trafficking, especially that of trafficking minors, in our nation!
Today's story is about how effective the Truckers Against Trafficking's training is for Law Enforcement and over the road truck drivers on how to spot a trafficking situation.
Today we have a story out of San Antonio, Texas. The story is about how the pandemic has made children even more vulnerable to human traffickers.

We have two news stories today. One out of Los Angeles, California where over 500 were arrested last week in a week long human trafficking effort. The other is out of Jonesboro, Arkansas, where 13 were arrested for trafficking as well.
Today with Super Bowl awareness I get to share several of the "signs" that someone may be being trafficked. It's good for all of us to go over again in our awareness. I also get to share a recent "happenstance" meeting I had with the director of a local crisis pregnancy type ministry that shared how the training that PATH had done for them actually helped them identify a trafficker that brought a girl in to get tested to see is she was pregnant! They called the police and the police took the man away!
Today we share a story out of the Miami area about preparations governing authorities are taking to fight trafficking around the upcoming Super Bowl next week.

We also encourage folks to take a serious look at our own PATH to see how each one can be involved in fighting human trafficking right here at our door steps.

We ring in the new year with a new effort to repeal the law passed last year to criminalize web sites that knowingly facilitated sex trafficking. Now some legislators are arguing that the law is forcing sex work back underground and sex workers are less safe. You can't make this kind of stuff up folks.

Today we get to share about a new Federal law suit filed against 6 major hotel chains by a trafficked victim. The law suit claims that the hotels knowingly rented rooms knowing that she was being sold for sex. This is another new development in the fight against human trafficking in our nation.
I also get to share a new 30 second Pubic Service Announcement that our Executive Director and one of our survivors recorded for the holidays to be shared on different radio stations.

Today we look at an amazing city counsel discussion this past Thursday in our Nation's Capitol, Washington DC. What was the discussion about? Legalizing prostitution in our Nation's Capitol. Yup.
First is the current story out of Little Rock that is making national news. The former owners of a Quality Inns in Little Rock are being sued by a lady who was trafficked out of the hotel for over 3 months.The entire 4th floor was rented out the entire time for the purpose of selling her and others.
Second we get to announce the upcoming benefit evening on the 24th of October for Path.
Today we finish up the news story about new technology that can help to fight trafficking over the internet. We also begin a two week interview with Ms Louise Allison, Executive Director of PATH, about some of the difficult impacts on trauma counselors and ministries dealing with the victims and their trauma.
Today we share a current local story out of North Little Rock where a trucking company owner has been arrested on trafficking charges. We also continue with the story about how new technology is being used to combat trafficking online.
Two important stories today.
First, out of Searcy, Arkansas. The Searcy Police Department and national investigators are asking for anyone that has been sexually used or abused by a John Ord, to call the Searcy Police Department. He is currently locked up and they are trying to gain information from other victims, not just for the trial but also to give his victims help.
The second story is pretty amazing. A new technology is available to get the phone numbers from web sites selling sex, that will then send text messages to those victims offering help! This could be a game changer! The article is written by a former IBM vice president. We will have to continue the story next week with more of the details on how this technology works.
We have two stories today. The first is a harrowing story out of Washington State. A woman and a man showed up at a mother's house at 7:30 the other morning. They were posing as agents of Child Protective Services. They announced they were there to take the mother's 4 year old son. They were fake. They did not get the mother's child. They have not been located yet. This is a heads up story.
The other is from National Review. It is a story about the on going battle in our nation's states to stop treating children caught up in trafficking as though they were criminals.
In today's program we finish up Shared Hope International's investigation into the sex trafficking dangers of several popular apps for cell phones and I pad's.

I am praying for more concrete information about this issue in days ahead.
Today we take a break from our interview with Dr Cindy Mikael about trauma counseling with survivors. With so much of the Epstein story in the news I thought it might be good to see how this story highlights the current movement of God to address sex trafficking in our nation.
Today we get to talk to Dr Mikael about what the trauma counselor must do to keep from becoming negatively impacted by all the trauma they deal with in the lives of the ones they are helping. Dr Mikael also shares some of what is necessary for a victim to be able to truly recover from what they have experienced.
Today we talk some more with Dr Mikael about the connection between porn and trafficking and how someone addicted to porn can get help getting free. We also get to ask Dr Mikael how she was introduced to PATH and how her service with PATH has grown.

Today we continue with the Polaris Project report about the "States Report Card" dealing with how well States are, or are not, dealing with victims of human trafficking with criminal records. Our story today is from CBS News about the arrest of Robert Kraft, owner of the Super Bowl champions, for soliciting prostitution in Florida. This story is drawing national attention to the human trafficking issue in our nation.
Today we finish last weeks story about how Facebook has conducted it's 3rd "hackathon" to find ways on the internet to track down child sex traffickers and to get the children rescued.
Today's program is actually a "thumbs up" for Facebook and a few other online sites that recently held a "hackathon" at Facebooks's headquarters. The two day event was intended to bring the brightest internet designers together to "think-tank" how to better identify missing children that might be being sold over the internet in order for law enforcement to rescue them. This was their 3rd such "hackathon."
Today's program is out of Atlanta, Georgia. It has to do with a ministry whose focus there is to rescue minor children out of sex trafficking in the Atlanta area. There is also a report about arrests made during and around the Super Bowl, of men trying to by children for sex.
Today our news story is out of Los Angeles. A major trafficking sting operation has resulted in over 400 arrests and some 84 victims rescued. This took place in just 3 days last week!
Today we have two stories. First is a story out of Atlanta, Georgia. At the start of school after the Christmas break they had several dozen school buses with decals the entire length of the bus with an anti-child sex trafficking message on them. This was endorsed by the Governor and law enforcement. Next we have the local story of a rescue just last week of a minor child here in Central Arkansas that PATH was able to make! The story comes from PATH's Facebook page.
A story from last week where YouTube apologized for removing a video taken of a Planned Parenthood worker advising a trafficker of a teen aged girl where to take the girl for an abortion and how to lie about her age. This apology came only hours after the video was taken down when people began a push-back against YouTube for taking it down ... only hours ... the same day! We also share a report about a gaming app that is being used to lure teens into sex trafficking. Who knows what others may also being used.
Today we have both a heartbreaking, yet a thrilling news report! This story happened this last Monday. It comes out of Nashville, Tennessee. It involves a lady that has been locked up for 15 years for killing a man, but when she killed him she feared for her life. When she killed him she was only a 16 year old girl. She was a victim of human trafficking, yet she was convicted as an adult and received a life time sentence.
Last Monday the Governor of Tennessee commuted her sentence, and this coming August she will be released from prison. This is a part of the awakening our nation is coming to grips with in this dreadful reality of human trafficking. And we praise God to see this day.

Wow! Today I get to have an interview with Louise and one of the new workers at PATH. The new worker got to be involved in a recent rescue of a lady in another state that called for help, an urgent call, she had a baby with her. When they arrived after a six and a half hour journey, in the middle of the night, they found the lady, her baby, and her trafficker in the hotel room together!!! You have to listen to this interview!!!
Today I share a little Christmas parable about the coming of the Son of God into our world and the wonder of our reality. It is a debate between an Earthling and a Martian. The debate is about which are more advanced in their development, Earthlings or Martians? I also remind us about the opportunity to give to PATH here at the end of the year.

Today I get to report about our trip to El Salvador the past two weeks. I found out that in El Salvador there is no "safe-harbor" provision for women and children being rescued out of human trafficking in El Salvador, they are just prosecuted as prostitutes when caught. I met some folks that became interested in their nation legislating such a law, and by the grace of God in the coming months we may be able to help that nation get a safe-harbor law into effect! This story is our program today.
Today's program is out of Florida where it is being reported that children are recruiting children, and that often on social media sites.
Today we have a research report out of the University Of Toledo that rebuts the Professor from Notre Dame from last week's program. Our study today verifies that which we instinctively knew, the internet in NOT a safe place for sex slaves to be sold, quite the contrary.
Wow! Today's program goes back to March of this year when our Congress and President signed into law the FOSTA Act, Fight Online Sex Trafficking Act. I've found a story from that time where a Professor Levi of Notre Dame University actually took the position that FOSTA was a bad law, and would make sex workers subject to more danger because they would have to go back to the street corner instead of the safety of the internet!!! You can't make this kind of insanity up!!!
Today I get to share about an online sting operation conducted in Dallas County, Arkansas! The Dallas County Sheriff's Department did their own sting operation using social media. The Sheriff and one deputy posed online as a teen aged girl for just 7 days ... and then made 12 arrests of men trying to meet up with the girl! Way to go there in Dallas County! I also get to share what many agencies are calling the 6 most dangerous apps for teens to be using, as well as 3 apps for parents to use in helping to track their kids online activities!

PATH has responded and the young lady is now safe in the loving care of our great PATH team having been rescued from another state! I also share a great report from PATH about the great help of Cornerstone Clinic for our survivors! I also get to share how receptive UAMS (University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences) to the teaching and training of Louise Allison and Glenn Ballard about how to recognize and how to respond to victims of human trafficking when they come in for urgent treatment. And lastly I get to share more information about the upcoming "Pumpkins and Pearls" fund/fun raiser in support of PATH!
A quick news story that caught my attention where a county in California is hosting a county wide forum on sex trafficking in their county! I thought, we need to do that here in Pulaski County! Then we move to the full interview we had with Louise and Casonia about the upcoming "Pumpkins and Pearls" Fun/Fund raising even on October 27 in support of PATH.
We have a news story out of Sacramento, California today of a 16 year old girl that was trafficked for 3 months and was rescued by a US Postal worker on his route. Encouraging story about the growing awareness in our nation about this plague in our land. We also continue with our story about the effort to legalize child prostitution in our country.
We have 2 new stories in the news this week. One about a bust of a human trafficking ring in the DFW area, and a story out of Colorado about a girl that was trafficked from the age on one year old until she was 14.

Today we get to the part of our story where the leader of "Rewire," a group advocating the legalization of prostitution, is interviewed by the Christian Post. She shares some of the reasons why they think legalizing prostitution is a human rights issue.
We continue with our story about the effort to legalize child prostitution in the United States. Today we even have quotes from the World Health Organization in 2014 that takes the position that making it illegal to sell minors in the sex industry makes the working conditions of minors in the sex industry less safe. You can't make this up friends!
Two news stories today. One out of South Carolina about minors there being rescued out of sex trafficking. The other about a Sex Trafficker in Forth Worth, Texas who has been given a life sentence for sex trafficking.
Today we cover a local news report about the arrest of a Little Rock man trafficking a minor girl here in our capitol city. We also cover a little more of the story of an effort to legalize minor's being sold as sex slaves here in the United States.
On today's program we get to interview an intern with PATH whose teen-aged sister was trafficked right out of their home for nearly 2 years ... and nobody knew until the sister tried to end her life! And this is a real life story out of Little Rock.
This week we pick back up on our breaking story about the drive to legalize minors being sold in the sex industry ... in the United States of America.
Our program today is a focus on PATH's Day Services Programs. What some of the programs are and how folks can be directly involved in helping survivors.
Our program today focuses on what is going on at PATH, about the growing awareness about human trafficking in our nation, and about an upcoming "Victims Services Training" that PATH will be conducting in September at a church in Little Rock.
This week we cover a breaking story out of Atlanta, Georgia. 160 children have been rescued from sex traffickers as of the end of June this summer. One child as young as 3 years old! You probably haven't heard much about this on your local or national news. We also share about July being Freedom Month and some of the ministry that PATH does, with an encouragement to consider making a donation to PATH this July.
Today we continue with our breaking news story about a major effort in our United States to legalize child prostitution.
Today we get to finish up our interview with Casonia and Glenn of PATH about the impact of the recent yard sale.
Today's program is a follow up report about the PATH yard sale from a week or so ago. It also includes some amazing service that PATH performs in actually, physically rescuing victims right off the streets when they call for help!

You read that correctly, she objected to minor children being legal to buy for sex ... so she was fired. She also exposes how this is a driving point in a part of our nation's political process, whether we are aware of it or not ... and she shares why it is. Stay tuned.
This week we follow a story about how Twitter is starting to try and enforce and establish rules about abusive and pornographic content on their site.
This week, getting ready for the PATH Community Sale, I get to have an on the spot conversation with leaders of PATH about the upcoming sale, and the opportunity for all of us to participate and help PATH in the process!

We then get to share reactions from survivors to those denouncing our new national law to hold websites accountable for selling sex services on their web sites.
Today's program is a follow up to last week's reporting about the passing of SESTA and it's signing by the President. That followed by the subsequent shutting of Backpage by the FBI and the arresting of 5 of it's leaders. Today we tell about a group called "Women'sMarch" and their disgust with the passing of the SESTA bill, and their demand that women should have the right to sell themselves and children to men for prostitution purposes. That's right, they say that the sex slave industry should be "protected" and considered as a "right" of women.
WOW!!!! What a week this past week has been!!! Amazing events in our nation and the world in God's move to bring justice to the millions that have been used and sold in the sex slave industry! 1) This past week President Trump signed into law the "Stop Enabling Sex Trafficking Act!" 2) The FBI raided and shut down Backpage.com world wide and has confiscated all it's data! This is a permanent shut down!!! 3) Then The CEO of the infamous Backpage.com, the leader in selling sex over the internet was arrested and has plead guilty of his crimes and his part in selling sex over the internet via his site.
What an amazing week, and a week that has happened because of the prayers and hard work of many to see this week happen. And I want to thank you all for your prayers, they have made a difference.
Today's program highlights a new bill in Nebraska that if passed will allow victims of sex trafficking to have their court records cleared of charges that were made against them as victims of sex trafficking. We also report a news story that was in Newsweek Magazine last week about the growth of sex trafficking over the internet and how many of the sex trafficking victims are actually a part of our nation's Foster Care System. We plan on following up more on this in the weeks ahead.
I have two things to share this Easter Sunday.
First I have a news story from MSN this past Tuesday. It was about a Planned Parenthood group that started tweeting a demand that Disney Corporation develop a Princess that had had an abortion! The news story will speak for itself.
That brings me to an interview I had with PATH's director, Louise Allison a couple of months ago that I've been waiting to share. In this interview Louise she shares about having been forced to get 4 abortions as an older teenager. This is one part of the human trafficking story that I have been waiting to bring to light, the sex slave industry and forced abortions on the ladies. I hope to explore this issue more in the days and weeks ahead.
We get to announce today the passage of SESTA, the "Stop Enabling Sex Trafficking Act" this past week by both chambers of Congress! This is a historic act that holds web sites accountable for allowing the selling of victims on their sites as sex trafficking victims. We also have a story from our State Attorney General about a dangerous app on kids phones that parents need to be aware of.
I get to share today about an exciting testimony that is going to be shared live on March 19, 2018 in Sherwood, Arkansas, by a survivor! The news story this week is about training for law enforcement officers to recognize children being trafficked. Also, be in prayer because the SESTA (Stop Enabling Sex Trafficking Act) may be voted on by the Senate tomorrow!
Today we get to hear from one person that thinks it would be terrible to try to stop selling children over the internet as sex slaves. No kidding. We also get to hear from Senator Portman, sponsor of the Stop Enabling Sex Traffickers Act, as he shares how close we are now in the Senate to getting this historic piece of legislation passed to bring online sex traffickers to justice. We also get to share that the White House has stated they they are firmly in favor of this bill and will sign it as soon as the Senate passes it. God is moving, friends.
Goodness! Today we have 3 stories! One out of Jonesboro Arkansas where a man was arrested for trying to have sex with what he thought was a minor girl he had made contact with on social media. She turned out to be law enforcement officers and when he showed up, boom, to jail he went, and in jail he now is. Next we have 2 stories out of Washington DC about resolutions we have been following for months and months. They will enable minors being trafficked on web sites to sue the web sites, and the other is to require training for health care providers to recognize trafficking victims and how they can report and how they can help them. Both resolutions passed the House of Representatives last week and are now headed to the Senate. We will continue to follow these issues in the days ahead. God is at work!
This week we have a great report from CNN about the need to pass the SESTA (Stop Enabling Sex Trafficking Act) that is before the US Congress now, and has been since August of 2017. Heart warming to see such a passionate story about ending the sex slave industry from CNN!
Today's story is about how some alert citizens last week led to the rescue of a 4 year old girl that had been kidnapped after her mother was brutally beaten. The perpetrator is now in jail.
Today we have 2 news stories from our nation's FBI web site about 2 recent FBI actions in the last two weeks. These actions were busts concerning perpetrators of girls and women in the area of what the web site calls ... sextortion.
Today we get to listen to a recent segment of the Today Show's story about human trafficking, the sex slave industry, here in America! I thought how wonderful that our major news networks are starting to pay attention to, and report on the scourge of human trafficking here in America.

The news story broke last week about 3 ladies being arrested at a massage parlor in Sherwood really grieved me. I wondered if they were forced to do what they do? They are from the far East some where, some other nation. I wanted to go ask them, "Were you forced into this?"

The test is to see how much we might know about the illicit "massage" industry in America. Now, there certainly are very legitimate massage businesses, but it is pretty amazing to find how many illicit massage places there are. We also get to learn some of the warning signs that a massage business might be part of the human trafficking evil.
For our first program of 2018 we share the audio of a great documentary produced by PBS about human trafficking. The program aired first a couple of years ago. ABC News later did a program using the documentary, "A Path Appears."

We have a very disappointing news story for Christmas Eve this year. The "Stop Enabling Sex Trafficking Act" that looked so promising just a few weeks ago has been ... gutted. Today, girls can be sold on web sites illegally, and they have no protection and no recourse against the sites that sell them. This is NOT what I hoped to have for our Christmas Eve program.
Our program today is about some of what the airline industry is doing to combat human trafficking by training their employees as well as travelers how to recognize the signs of someone being trafficked.
Today we get to share this month's news letter from PATH which we haven't talked about before. We also help listeners know how to go to PATH's web site to sign up to receive the newsletter themselves, something we haven't talked about before either.
OK, I get to have a little rant today! It's about the horrible fact that our state of Arkansas is still one of 27 states that do NOT have a way to take care of minor children that are the victims of human trafficking. Pray for PATH as they try to take this on with our state legislature to come up with a law, and a way, to have a recognized and state funded facility to help these desperate child victims. I also share a brief news story out of Oklahoma where one of their state legislators was sentenced to prison for trafficking of minors ... himself.
This Thanksgiving weekend we get to share a news story where a man in Colorado was sentenced last week to 472 years in prison for trafficking minor girls and women as well. This is the largest sentencing in American history for human trafficking! We also share an interview with a young lady that started being raped by her father as a 12 year old, then was taken into trafficking at the age of 15. Her story is one of remarkable strength to come back from that to now having a productive and meaningful life of helping others.
Today we finish up our interview with Mr Glenn Ballard of PATH. Glenn shares some of the dreams going on at PATH as well as some legal issues facing our state of Arkansas dealing with minor children that have been trafficked.
News story is about the drama in Washington where congress is wrangling over SESTA. (Stop Enabling Sex Trafficking Act) The bill finally got out of committee last week after some amendments, only to now be put on hold by a Senator as of last Friday! We will keep us posted! We then get to have Mr Glenn Ballard of PATH share about the Victims Services Training as well as the Day Training that is available for ladies coming out of the sex slave industry.
This week we have a news update about the effectiveness of the National Human Trafficking Hotline. It has had over a ten fold increase in it's use over the past nine years. The word is getting out! We also continue with our interview with Glenn Ballard and this week Glenn talks about the impact of trauma on the victims of Human Trafficking.
Today we get to interview Mr. Glenn Ballard who works with Louise Allison and PATH. We find out some of the services Glenn provides for PATH and some of the powerful ministries that PATH provides to the survivors of Human Trafficking. We will also get to hear from Glenn for the next couple of weeks as well!
Our news story today is about the latest nation wide FBI human trafficking sting called "Operation Cross Country." During this nation wide sting there were 84 children rescued out of human trafficking. The average age of those rescued was just 15 years of age. The youngest was a 3 year old girl. That young age has rightfully shocked many, therefore we get to share at the end of the program the part of an interview I had about a year ago with Debra where she shared that her story of abuse started as a 3 year old girl.
Today's news story is a follow-up to last weeks groundbreaking story about Backpage setting out-of-court with a law firm in Seattle, Washington, on behalf of 3 minor children that were knowingly sold for sex on Backpage's web site.
We have exciting news today to report!!! The website, Backpage.com, that has been a focus of websites selling people for sex, has for the first time settled with three plaintiffs out of court! The three plaintiffs were under aged girls when sold for sex on the web site. Up until now there has not been a court that has been willing to hear a case ... until this past Tuesday, October 3rd. There are about two more weeks of this breaking event that we will be following on PATH Saves!
We continue today with the rather dramatic political process taking place in Washington DC concerning a bill to make internet giants accountable for sex trafficking content contained on their web sites.
The program today is a follow up about our United States Congress' bill to make internet web sites that allow sex traffickers to post adds on their sites liable for doing so. This is a very important issue going on in our nation with major ramifications about the "freedoms" of internet sites. The bill would also allow individual states to pass their own laws allowing victims to sue sites that hosted adds to sell them on their web sites! God is moving right in front of our eyes and we at PATH Saves don't want us to miss what we are seeing!
This weeks story is about a teen aged girl that wanted to do something. She learned about human trafficking at a Christian Ladies retreat and asked God what she could actually do? She felt led to go on a 300 mile long walk to raise awareness about human trafficking! From her home in Illinois to Nashville, Tennessee, she walked to raise awareness and to raise money to help in the fight! The result was some $38,000 raised!
Our news story today is a follow up to last week's story. It is about how an effort in Congress to amend an act in order to prosecute sites like "backpage" is now shaking up the entire tech industry.
Today's news has Backpage back in the headlines. 2 Congressmen have introduced a new bill in Congress in an attempt to legally hold Backpage liable for the sex trafficking adds that they have profited from for years. As much as 80% of all money made by selling women and girls over the internet has been made by Backpage. I also share a recent report out of our own Clinton, Arkansas about a woman trying to lure a girl at a school bus stop into her truck. Parents, beware.
This weeks news story is about how a rather high profile model was kidnapped by a human trafficking ring. She was able to escape but the news story highlights the dangers of being on social media sites like Instagram. Predators use sites like this to lure victims into their dark web in the sex slave industry.
Our program today is about a state that is now requiring their EMT personnel to go through training to recognize the signs of a human trafficked victim. As of now we don't have this requirement in Arkansas.
Our top news story today is about an arrest last Sunday in Conway, Arkansas. A 30 something year old man was selling a minor girl for sex and is currently awaiting trial on multiple drug charges as well as human trafficking charges.
We also get to finish the 3 part news series about the growing awareness in our health care industry about recognizing trafficked victims. As of today there are only 60 hospitals out of some 6,000 hospitals in our nation that are trained or equipped to recognize a trafficked victim that comes in for medial care ... much less to be able to help them with their trafficked condition. But, awareness is growing.
In today's program we get to share a clip from the Christian Broadcasting Network about a new initiative to combat Human Trafficking. They are now impounding the vehicles of johns and increasing the fine for a first offense to $5,000! Next we get to share about a new law passed this year here in Arkansas dealing with the impounding of vehicles of those caught trying to purchase sex. An interesting twist about our law is that along with the other fees and penalty's there is an additional $500 charge that will go to a new state fund called the "Human Trafficking Victim Support Fund." The moneys in this new fund will be used to help the victims of human trafficking here in Arkansas, and to help train educators to recognize victims of Human Trafficking. Today we have a breaking story out of Washington DC, out of our Congress, that Backpage.com is back in Congressional cross hairs! Congress has received evidence that Backpage has been directly involved in soliciting sex ads as well as coaching advertisers on how to best post their ads. Backpage has tried to paint themselves as only a 3rd party to the ads and not directly involved in creating the ads.
Today's news story is out of Chicago. A human trafficker is behind bars today after his 16 year old female slave was slaughtered on Christmas eve. This is another example of how God is working to bring to justice those profiting from the sex slave industry. We also get to hear an audio clip of the slaughtered girls Mother as she shares about the need to bring these perpetrators to justice.
Today starts a 3 week news story about how God is working in the health care industry to bring awareness to health care providers about human trafficking. While I was gone to El Salvador I met a young lady that had been abused and trafficked as a young girl. She had never told anyone before. I got to see God do some great healing in her life! In the program today I have Louise Allison share some important information that she had shared with me that was very helpful for the young lady in El Salvador.
Today's news story is out of Alaska! It is about a "barefoot mile" that survivors and concerned individuals walk each year to raise awareness as well as raise money in the fight against the sex-slave industry in Alaska. Last week the event raised $200,000 to support the fight in Alaska! We also share some insight from our PATH Executive Director, Louise Allison, about what happens in a child's mind that is trafficked at a young age. I share this because one of the girls in the news story was sold sexually as a 3 year old until she was 6.
Today's program is again about what part we call all play in bringing an end to the sex slave industry in America.
This weeks program is about a fund raising idea called "Freedom Friday." The idea is to take a Friday evening, and instead of going out, stay home and estimate how much you would have spent for entertainment and send that money to PATH to help in the effort of setting captives free! A pretty neat idea! We have set the date for June 23rd. Let's all join in and help make a difference!
The news story today is about a health care group called Dignity Health, that is working to train and educate health care providers to recognize and respond when they come across trafficked victims in the health care setting. I also get to thank PATH for coming this past Thursday to our church's Sheriff's Prayer Breakfast to share with our Sheriff's Department about human trafficking.
Today we get to share a part of a clip from the White House in Washington DC! Ivanka Trump last week held a news conference in the White House, along with members of Congress, about new legislation and financing that Congress is dealing with right now to address Human Trafficking in America. Congress has 8 Human Trafficking bills on it's table right now. We get to make the point that this is evidence of a major movement of God, right before our eyes, in this our day! We also get to share some of the news story that broke last week about the massive drug bust in Little Rock last week! The point of this news story is that any time we see this level of "drug trafficking" we can be assured that there is a comparable amount of Human Trafficking that goes along with the drug trafficking, and that right here in the Little Rock area.
Our program today is out of Arizona. The owner/operator of a local radio station has been airing a Public Service Announcement for two years that he put together. The announcement tells those who save child pornography on how to hide the stuff on their computer so that it can't be found. He says it is free speech to do so. He has made the announcement because he disagrees with Arizona's "tough" laws against possessing child pornography. There is a backlash taking place.
On today's program we open with a prayer for Mother's who have children that are caught up in Human Trafficking. :( We also have two news stories. One is about a start-up company in St Louis by victims of Human Trafficking. They sell products with the hope of empowering victims of trafficking as well as being a part of the victims training to reenter life, with a life. The second story is about a new comic book that has been published by a government agency in New York City whose intended audience is children. The purpose of the comic book is to help children be aware of the dangers of human trafficking, what to look for in case someone is trying to groom them, and how to get help in case they are a target. This is a sad commentary on the reality of our day, that children need to become aware of such a horrible crime, and that they might be a target to become the next victim of the sex slave industry in America.

We have a news story about a conviction right out of Little Rock this past week of a man trafficking minors for 3 years in the Little Rock area. We also have a story out of Tampa, Florida about a mural on the wall of a bus terminal there encouraging trafficked victims to reach out for help. And lastly, we have more of the interview with Deborah. In this part of the interview she shares some of the rather heart breaking responses she has had from some churches when she has tried to share some of her story.
Two news stories today, both out of Arkansas! First is about a new law passed last week here in Arkansas that requires Class A licensed truck drivers to complete training about human trafficking and the ways to recognize it. Then we have a story with Arkansas connections about six arrested who were trafficking Arkansas minor aged girls in Louisiana.

One out of Ohio where two pastors have been charged with trafficking minor girls, the other a follow up story out of our Nation's Capitol where some of the missing girls have been found and the effort is on to find more. We close with some more of our interview with Deborah about her thoughts of the impact of PTSD on trafficked survivors.

We feature a news story this week about how a medical doctor started a world wide initiative to both network and educate medical doctors about recognizing the signs of human trafficking and ways for doctors to help treat trafficked victims. The entire program today is concerning a news story about how the web site, backpage.com, is getting around it's litigation for posting sex services. In the report we learn that 80% of all their earnings were from sex ads!
We get to hear part of an audio news story out of Florida today. A 12 year old is sold into the sex slave industry and kept in a cage for some 14 years! She had a baby girl and then made a daring escape, her trafficker shot her in the head but she survived and is now telling her story.
I also get to share a current story out of Pennsylvania. A state law passed there in 2013 is allowing sex trafficking victims to sue hotels and motels that knowingly let them be trafficked in their hotel/motel place of business! I haven't been able to find out if Arkansas has a similar statute but I am working on it! The story states that only a "handful" of states have this kind of law and I want to know if Arkansas in one of the handful, and if not, what do we need to do to become one.
On today's program we get to share an amazing story out of Kansas City where they have discovered that over 1,000 men a day are trying to buy sex over the internet! In just Kansas City alone! I get to also share a news story out of our White House where President Trump has called on our leaders to focus on, and provide more national resources, in the fight against Human Trafficking here in America. We also get to have some more of the interview with the young lady, Marie, who was being groomed as a minor to get caught up in the web of human trafficking.
One our program today we get to finish up the testimony of Ashton Kutcher before Congress about what he and his group "Thorn" are doing to fight human trafficking. We also get to share a news report out of Los Angeles, California about what law enforcement is doing there to fight human trafficking and how the group "Saving Innocence" is working with them in rescuing minor children from the sex slave industry there in LA!
Our news story today is out of Los Angeles, California, where legislators are trying to reduce trafficking by improving the "physical features" of a street where pimping is rampant. We continue with the recent testimony of Ashton Kutcher before Congress, about the use of technology to help eliminate sex trafficking. We also have part of the interview with "Marie" about being groomed to become a trafficking victim.
We have two stories today. The first is out of Tulsa, Oklahoma where a trafficker was pimping minor girls right out of their own homes without the parents being aware of what was happening to their daughters! This is something we haven't talked about yet, therefore this story from this past week is important for parents to be aware of. Then, we get to share some of the United States Congressional Testimony that the well known actor, Ashton Kutcher, gave before Congress this past week about human trafficking. He shares with Congress what he is doing to bring traffickers to justice, and to rescue minor girls out of the control of these barbarians.
In today's program we get to share a news story from the University of Texas, Austin. They have conducted a 2 year long study to find actual empirical data, numbers, on the magnitude of the sex slave trade just in Texas. The numbers they have come up with are astounding. We also get to report the current news story about the airline stewardess that spotted and reported a victim on a flight she was on, and when they landed the perpetrator was arrested. And, finally we get to share about the Uber driver that made a call to police about two women that were trafficking a minor girl and were transporting the girl in his vehicle.
Our program today deals with a recent human trafficking sting operation in Memphis this past week. We also make the point that where big events like today's Super Bowl get a lot of public attention about human trafficking during these events, the day-to-day operations of our law enforcement agencies are actually getting greater results. The point is to not get complacent, thinking that trafficking mainly happens during these big national sporting events.
Today we feature a news story about a new documentary coming out next month titled, "I Am Jane Doe." It is the story of girls being trafficked over the internet, and that being mainly Backpage.com. We will be wanting to keep our eyes open for this one! We take another step in our interview with "Marie" about what it was like in her family when her parents discovered that she was being groomed to become a trafficked victim!
In today's program we share part of an interview with a former Planned Parenthood manager who was shocked to find that there were trafficked, minor victims, that had been brought in for abortions ... and the response of Planned Parenthood was to train workers how to recognize if they were being filmed secretly! She quit Planned Parenthood. We continue in our interview with Marie about being "groomed" for trafficking by a man, and what that was like. We also get to announce that next week we should be able to share from a few of our PATH ladies about their experience of having had abortions through Planned Parenthood while they were trafficked victims!
This week we get to share about the pressure our Congress in Washington is putting on a website to take down it's "adult" section where girls are being sold online. We also get to introduce "Marie" who was brought to us as a 17 year old being groomed to be taken into human trafficking. She was only days away from being gone when her parents brought her to me!
On today's program we actually have the Christmas wishes from the staff of PATH! Our programs became a little confused over the holidays and I really want everyone to hear PATH's staff Christmas wishes! At the end of the program I get to announce that next week I will be sharing an interview I was able to conduct with a young minor that was being groomed to be taken into the trafficking industry. Her parents brought her to me a little over 2 years ago when they discovered what had been going on on her "social" media sites! You won't want to miss hearing this precious young ladies testimony of being rescued and whisked away before her desired traffickers were able to get to her! This radio program was the key ingredient to her parents understanding about what was happening to their daughter, and we praise God for this testimony!!!

Today's program is about a new initiative to give youth a voice in the fight against Human Trafficking. It is called the "NO Project." The tool for youth to use is their own creativity in using their artistic skills to create awareness in other youth about the dangers of human trafficking. Youth are often the unsuspecting targets of this evil. Through dance, drawing, film, writing and other forms of art, youth are encouraged to shed the light with other youth about this pervasive danger.
Today's program is a news story out of the Dayton, Ohio area. It is about a human trafficking victim that has led an effort to bring material and information into the schools about Human Trafficking! This has been put together with the help of Ohio's Attorney General! The victim, Theresa, was trafficked for two years beginning at the age of 15. She wants to do all she can to help keep other kids from falling into the same fate. So far around 12 schools have opened their doors. I am wondering what we might do to have something similar here in Arkansas! Any ideas?
Today's program comes out of Canada! A child pornography ring working out of Toronto has been blown open. Operating in some 50 nations including the United States! Some 400 children rescued and hundreds of perpetrators arrested. The scope of this operation and the resulting law enforcement bust is staggering! Many of the perpetrators were doctors, teachers, pastors and foster home providers. God is moving to set captives free!
This Thanksgiving weekend we have two stories that I think are worthy of giving thanks! First is a news story out of St Louis about a new business venture that started up last week by a rescue ministry similar to our PATH ministry! The ladies in that program are working at the new business as apart of their gaining a new life. The second story is about how our federal government is bringing wounded military warriors on board with our Homeland Security efforts to combat child trafficking here in the USA. The wounded warriors are using the skills they learned in the military to track down and bring to justice those using online methods to sell kids over the internet.
On PATH Saves today I share a story out of Iraq about a group of ladies that have formed their own militia to liberate ISIS held sex slaves of mainly Christian minority groups! These ladies are hunting down these perpetrators with weapons! I share the story not to recommend vigilante movements against our American Human Traffickers, but to rather encourage all our listeners to perhaps be more intentional in our awareness of and willingness to be more involved here on our home front against the sex slave industry here. We also share today in our interview with "Deborah" a question, can a lady that has been sold on the streets or over the internet ever come to a place of "closure?"

Last week during Kutcher’s interview on the "Today" show took an unexpected turn when co-host Kathy Lee Gifford asked how they could be praying for him.Without hesitation Kutcher replied, “You know what you can pray for me about? This week we have a story out of "Ebony" magazine. It is part of an interview that Ebony did with Jada Pinkett Smith, the wife of actor Will Smith. Jada shares with Ebony how she became aware of human trafficking through here 11 year old daughter, Willow. She shares about her involvement now to help educate and bring human trafficking to an end. Also, she shares a good bit about how she talks to her daughter about the difficult topic of human trafficking and what she does to help protect her own daughter. I think this is some necessary information for all of us to hear and apply with our loved ones!
We start today with a follow-up on last weeks national Cross Country FBI anti-trafficking sting operation. This follow-up is about our agencies in Arkansas were involved and our State's results! We then conclude our interview with Art and Christie of New Hope Ministries, a start up ministry hoping to be able to house minor's being rescued out of the sex slave industry. Concluding today's program is a brief interview I had with a young lady that died and had an incredible experience in the presence of our Lord. I ask her to share with any trafficked victims what she would share with them if she could.
Our program today is a news story from the United States FBI. Last Sunday ended the FBI's 10th "Operation Cross Country." This has become an annual initiative to rescue women and minors that are being sold in the sex slave industry here in America. Thousands of pimps arrested and hundreds of minors rescued. Well done!
Today's program highlights first a heart warming story coming out of PATH! It is a report from PATH about a young lady that had been through their program, fell back into her former life style, but now has returned. She is now married, has had twins just a couple of weeks ago, and she and her family are basking in the love of PATH and the people of God! Then, we continue with our interview with Art and Christie of New Hope Ministries about the remarkable need for housing minor children being rescued out of the sex slave industry! In our entire nation there are only some 200 beds available for minors being rescued, and there is not 1 (ONE) in the entire state of Arkansas.
Our news story today is out of Dallas, Texas, where the Attorney General's Office has arrested the CEO of the notorious Backpage.com for exploiting women and minors on their web site! I ask Christie of New Hope Ministries to lead us in a prayer for trafficked victims, and for us as we try to help rescue and restore. I also get to share an exciting announcement about a PATH Survivor/Overcomer, Valery, who had twins, a boy and a girl, this past Thursday!
Our program today is a news story about how "gangs" are increasingly using trafficking to support their activities. The story also gives indicators to look for in minors to tell if they are being groomed into becoming a victim of a gang or a trafficker.
Our news story today is about the discovery in 20 states of Latinas being trafficked in cantinas in the Southwest part of our nation. Many of these trafficked victims are minors and are being trafficked under great duress. I also get to share about a very special baby shower our church gave for a trafficked survivor that PATH has played a significant part in her recovery. In our interview with Art of "New Hope" ministry out of Russellville, I ask Art to offer up a prayer for our trafficked victims and for our awareness of this issue.

They are sometimes actually being used and manipulated while far from home and unable to help themselves. At the end of the program there is a way to offer them help if they need help.

The news story today is out of Saint Louis where a new app has been developed called TraffickCam that is to help law enforcement catch traffickers. This is also something that everyone with a phone or android with a camera can do to help capture human traffickers! And the app is free! We introduce Christie today from New Hope ministries in Russellville, Arkansas. This is a new start up ministry whose goal is to be able to rescue minor children that are the victims of human trafficking. Our interview today is with Debra again. This part of the interview is about a certain way her father was abusive to her when she was 7 years old.
This week we have a wild story out of Pennsylvania where a man held hostage 12 minor girls for years, and even fathered two children by one of them. He is in prison now. We get introduced to a start up ministry called "New Hope" that's goal is to be able to house minor girls that have been trafficked. Amazing that in our state of Arkansas there is not a single safe house for minors being rescued out of trafficking! We close with a portion of our interview with Deborah where I ask her if there were any good memories of her dad.
Our news story today is out of Nebraska where that state is just now creating laws to deal with human trafficking. This demonstrates how new this issue is in our nation today. We return to our interview with Debra as she is given back to her father as a 7 year old. She shares in this segment how she is just now realizing the sexual nature of the abuse from him.

We conclude our interview with Dr. Viser, trauma counselor, as he shares his desire for all of us to have more concern and awareness about trafficking and it's victims. The news story this week is out of California about a 15 year old girl that was kidnapped off the streets and then trafficked. After her escape it took several months of counseling before she could even talk to investigators about what had happened to her. In the interview section with Dr. Bill Viser, he shares the importance of professional post-trauma counseling for survivors of sex trafficking. Eve shares the difficulties of gaining a normal life and her need for counseling that she received through PATH.

This story is the journey of the first safe house for minor boys in our entire nation, and it is set to open toward the end of this year, 2016.
