This podcast explores the ways we interweave all of the parts in the middle chapters of our journeys as women. Through story and conversation, we want to celebrate, support, and embrace it all. We believe in the power of connection, that we have the right to understand our bodies, and that we can change the narrative of middle life.

Fertility is personal, layered, and rarely linear. In this introduction to WOVXN Fertility, Rebecca — a board-certified reproductive acupuncturist with nearly twenty years in fertility care — opens the series with a look at what's ahead: weekly conversations on the questions, the emotions, and the relationships that shape how women understand their reproductive health. Drawing from years in practice, expert voices, and real stories along the way, the series makes space for wherever you are in the journey — trying to conceive, planning ahead, supporting someone you love, or simply learning more about your body.

Most, if not all, mothers carry some version of uncertainty at some point, whether it is in babyhood, toddlerhood, preteen/teenage years, or when our children have moved away and are moving into adulthood. She shares how uncertainty in motherhood is a connector and can be a place of healing and lightening the load when we share ours with other mothers.

In this episode, Tara talks about how we can get proactive with our breast care through understanding our breasts as living tissue that responds to how we care for our bodies. That it is a dynamic relationship and it changes over time. Long term breast health is based in proactive care. She asks the questions: What is creating an environment in the body where breast cancer can develop? How are we supporting the liver, is there chronic inflammation, what is going on the skin that is being absorbed, what are our genetics, food choices, hormonal components, and more. Tara sets up this series to be a tool of empowerment in our breast care.

In today's episode, Interwovxn welcomes Suzanne Spencer. Suzanneknows a thing or two about when the script of life changes. She spent a decade as a TV news reporter and anchor in Milwaukee — someone used to delivering the story. Then in 2021, she was diagnosed with a brain tumor and became the story. She’d go on to have brain surgery while becoming a first-time mom. She went from the delivery room, to the operating room, and came out on the other side with a new perspective on what it means to keep going. Now, Suzanne delivers keynotes to audiences across the country helping them move forward when the script changes by turning setbacks into growth and possibility. Today, Suzanne brings that same energy to us, walking us through why mindset matters, and gives us one practical trick to check — and shift — our own.

In this episode, Theresa talks about one of her favorite topics, emotional dissonance. It's how we experience two seemingly contradictory emotions at the same time and motherhood is full of those moments. It's how mothers feel one way but work to show the world outside of them a different version. It's loving your child and motherhood but grieving parts of your former life. We are giving each other permission to feel all of the feelings.

In today's episode, Theresa shares her perspective on what motherhood support is versus what it could be. How instead of frontloading support before and immediately following birth we can look for more ways to provide continued support throughout motherhood. That there is a need for building community and resources that extend far beyond the fourth trimester.

In today's episode Clara Healing Institute founder and clinical director Kristin Belkofer hosts a group of women to talk about life with ADHD. Kristin breaks down the diagnosis and the experience lived by many women, easing the stigma through greater understanding. She frames ADHD as a spectrum that can change with support over a lifetime and not a deficit or disorder, that it is about modulation and regulating, and a type of brain structure. Our circle of women shares what ADHD means to them as mothers, entrepreneurs, and women in middle life. They talk about the process of unmasking ADHD, how it is often missed in women, how it presents differently in men vs. women, the relationship to anxiety and depression, diagnosis later in life, and what they label means to them.

In this episode, Theresa is joined by a circle of moms we love (Element, Krista, and Meagan) and Alie Kriofske Mainella, a counselor specializing in sexual health education and psychology who leads educational sessions in schools. Together, they engage in a thoughtful and honest conversation about how they’re talking with their kids about their bodies and sexual health. This is a sensitive and sometimes uncomfortable topic, but one the group explores with curiosity, vulnerability, and mutual respect.

Alie offers professional insight into how she approaches these conversations with kids, focusing on body awareness, personal safety, and keeping open lines of communication. The moms share their own experiences, questions, and challenges, creating a rich dialogue that touches on age-appropriate language, why using correct anatomical terms matters, how gender is nuanced, and how to move through common parental fears. They also offer ideas for feeling more prepared—and less awkward—when navigating these essential conversations.

This episode is intended for adult listeners only.

In today’s episode, we’re diving into the unique challenges faced by highly sensitive women navigating the emotional complexities of parenthood and divorce. Sue Bruckner, a licensed professional counselor and relationship coach for highly sensitive women talks with us about the importance of identifying our values, establishing self-compassion, and creating change from a place of love. Being highly sensitive often means feeling deeply, processing emotions with intensity, and having a heightened awareness of others' feelings—traits that can make a difficult life transition even more overwhelming. But despite the challenges, sensitivity can also be a powerful tool for healing and self-discovery. Today, we’ll discuss the emotional demands of divorce, how sensitivity impacts the process, and ways to embrace your emotional landscape during this transformative time. Whether you’re currently going through a divorce, have been through one, or just want to understand how to support someone who is, this episode is for you.

Today's episode wraps up our season in a special way: In October, we had the privilege of attending Renaissance Theater Works' production of "The How and the Why", by Sarah Treem. The play is perceptive, intimate, and puts front and center the difficult dilemmas faced by women of every generation. It dives deep into the confluences of nature vs nurture, science and destiny, evolution and emotions throughout the two female scientists
interactions, eventually revealing their complex and mysterious connection. We asked women in the audience to share a thought on what they love about their bodies, what they love about being a woman, and set their responses to the amazing music of Colleen Webb of Casual Vocals.
