Dan Murphy and Pete Thamel of ESPN obtained a draft of the NCAA's notice of allegations and dropped a report on Sunday, which you can find here: https://www.espn.com/college-football/story/_/id/40724577/michigan-football-coach-sherrone-moore-violated-ncaa-rules-noa-draft-says
In the article, they state that in the draft that Sherrone Moore deleted a large text thread between him and Connor Stallions, among other things, and that four former Michigan staffers, including Jim Harbaugh, committed level 1 NCAA violations (these are the most severe), and that the school also committed level 1 offenses by showing "a pattern of non-compliance within the football program."
What does this mean? I react to this, as well as give my thoughts on what it means for the NCAA and other teams in the Big Ten.

Disclaimer: When I recorded the podcast, I didn't realize the rapid rise of prospects like Lukas Van Ness out of Iowa, so I may sound a bit ignorant when it comes to him. But the combine is important when it comes to the NFL Draft, and can really help prospects rise earlier in the draft depending on how they workout in different drills. So we are going to talk about it here, and we end with a discussion with why Anthony Richardson's impressive athleticism shouldn't matter in the long run when it comes to drafting a QB in round 1.

With time running out, I decided to put all the January 2nd bowl games together on one episode. While there isn't much upheaval in the Granddaddy of them all, the same can't be said for the Reliaquest and Citrus Bowls. Three new head coaches, plenty of opt-outs, and the tragedy of Mississippi State Head Coach Mike Leach's passing bring a lot of question marks for those two games. Can Illinois and Purdue get to nine wins with all the question marks in their own programs? Can Penn State cash in by going all-in on Pasadena?

Iowa is down their top two QB's, so they have no shot in this game, right? Except Kentucky's backfield have all opted out as well, including projected 1st round pick Will Levis, and top running back Chris Rodriguez. Who are my picks to be pre-season All Big Ten? Some may be obvious picks, but the tricky thing about these lists is there are often politics, a desire to please people, and the reality that some up and coming stars overshadow everyone else. So we break down my picks for what I think the 1st team All Big-Ten team will look like in December, and I think you may be surprised at some of the selections.

Pat Narduzzi is taking shots at the Big Ten. Joe Tessitore, an ESPN play-by-play man, is taking shots at Ohio State's "joke" schedule. ESPN has traditionally trashed the Big Ten. The newest TV Deal is about to make it a whole lot worse, because the Big Ten is about to make 1.2 Billion dollars to NOT show their product on ESPN.

What is the absolute best case for each Big Ten Team? Worst Case? Could Rutgers surprise? How many wins could Illinois get? What's their floor? This is part 1 of a 7 part series called Best Case/Worst Case, where we look at each team's roster, schedule, strengths and weaknesses, and determine reasonable floors and ceilings for each team in the conference. This week, we look at Rutgers and Illinois, and while Phil Steele rates each of them as the weakest teams in their divisions, there is reason for hope for both programs.

Lots of smoke around Notre Dame potentially being wooed by the Big Ten. However, let's get one thing straight: The Big Ten doesn't NEED Notre Dame. They want them. The same might not be true for Notre Dame, for the sole reason that the sport might be unrecognizable in the coming years.

The NFL Draft should be a national holiday, but it's not. I didn't get to watch much, if any of it, live. But I got to see the aftermath, and it was glorious. Who won? Who lost? The NFL Combine was last week, which means the NFL Draft is almost upon us. The Big Ten was well represented, including players from several teams who are in 1st round consideration. Name, Image, and Likeness has taken college athletics by storm. Between volleyball stars making seven figures for their IG followers, to mediocre QB's showing up in national Dr. Pepper ads, NIL has dramatically impacted the landscape of "amateur" athletics. Alabama Head Coach Nick Saban and Ohio State Athletic Director Gene Smith started addressing the need for regulation for this. Are they saying this because they're scared that their programs can't keep up? Or are they speaking knowing that the rich will keep getting richer in this new College Football World?

When Urban Meyer took over the Jacksonville Jaguars, many thought it would be a big time hire that would propel one of the worst franchises into a competent one. Instead, he was fired before coaching a full season. Between poor results on the field, and controversy off the field, he had one of the worst years ever as an NFL head coach. Caleb Williams is probably a top 5 QB prospect in all of major college football. So imagine the shock when we start seeing all the smoke that he may commit to the power-running offense of the Wisconsin Badgers! Still, could he be Russell Wilson 2.0? Bryce Young won the heisman... also, water is wet. Nobody should be shocked that the Alabama QB won the award, but what about how people voted? Should we feel upset that Will Anderson wasn't invited to New York? Is it weird that Aiden Hutchinson was ahead of another defensive player who had way better stats (Spoiler Alert: No). So, I rant a bit more in this, and I may not be the most clear or well reasoned on this episode. Also, my rankings are probably just as bad as the CFP's, which to me proves that we need a different playoff system, because I DISAGREE WITH MY OWN RANKINGS! But, I promise, there's worthwhile content in the midst of my own absurdity. The Big Ten's round robin quickly approaches, as Ohio State will play Michigan State this weekend. Meanwhile, Wisconsin seems to be waiting in the wings as they seem to be strolling to another Big Ten West Title. In the rest of the College Football World, the three most talent rich states have no good teams to show for it (outside of the SEC). Why? I don't know why, but it's something we talk about. You know the drill: Big Ten Power Rankings, My National Top 10. But this week was a big week. Iowa and Penn State was the first top 5 match up in the Big Ten since 2016, and it ended with an Iowa win on paper, but more questions as to who is truly the best team in the Big Ten. Ohio State looks like who we thought they would be, Michigan State and Michigan keep winning, and the west looks worse than expected. What does it all mean?
Plus, the Alabama loss exposed some really bad takes when it comes to ranking college football teams. Spoiler Alert: I have them ranked 5th, and there's no objective reason why they shouldn't be right now. And that's the problem: rankings, and the sport in general, have less to do with objectivity and more to do with whatever someone values in a team. That's why our playoff system stinks, and someone needs to fix it (DO SOMETHING NCAA!!!)

This week is the first top 5 match up of Big Ten teams since the Ohio State Michigan game back in 2016. If Iowa wins, they might coast into the Big Ten Championship. If Penn State wins, they have bragging rights until they face the gauntlet that is Ohio State, Michigan, and Michigan State in their own division! We dive deep on that game, as well as the other four Big Ten games. Two teams are on major upset alert, and we discuss the chances of Cincinnati making the playoffs after their big win against Notre Dame. One of their biggest problems might end up being another group of 5 team having a BETTER resume than them when the season is over. Does Cincinnati have a BYU problem?
