I am truly honored to have this episode as the 100th Episode. This episode closes out Abortion Recovery Awareness Month here on the podcast and I was able to sit with my good friend of over 40 years, Ms. Kimberly Singleton!
Kimberly has come OUT OF HIDING from shame of her abortion history and is sharing her testimony of God's healing grace! Her desire is that other women, especially the Pearls in the Pews, will silence the voice of the enemy and set into their full potential. God is waiting with open arms to heal their hearts, just as He was for Kim, for me, and for so many others.

Welcome back to all of you!!! Beauty Beyond the Ashes Podcast has started its 7th Season and we are excited to come back at this beautiful time of the year!
It's February and it's the month we celebrate Love! But what is it that we are truly celebrating? Do we have a true understanding of Love? In this episode, I jump back in full speed after my sabbatical and share what the focus of this month should be.
1 Peter 4:8 says, "Love covers a multitude of sin." Love is grace in action! And true Love is God! It's through this true Love that Christian women and men are able to find healing from the wound of abortion.

The last episode of Beauty Beyond the Ashes Episode was one that stuck with me so immensely, that I had to do a Part 2 to dissect and digest it with my friend and fellow "Life Matters" advocate, Becky Girola.
The previous episode was the first in a series entitled, "The Voice of a Father," where I am having Beauty Conversations with men who have been abortion-affected.
Nyles Pinckney gave extraordinary details of his abortion experience and what happened before and after. Many are not aware that there is a "crisis mode" before the abortion and an "aftermath" after the aboriton. Nyles did an amazing job detailing the full spectrum.
So much so, I had to have a conversation with Becky, Director of ABC Pregnancy Resource Center, to breakdown the missing components that could very well have helped Nyles and his partner make ABC (A Better Choice) during their crisis pregnancy.

These conversations are much needed to help explore the FACTS surrounding an abortion choice. It's not as cut and dry as many people feel it is and/or should be. Life just doesn't work that way.
Becky does an excellent job of helping open the minds and hearts of the Pro-Life community and explain what needs to be done to "LOVE THEM BOTH!"

Prior to walking into my healing journey from the wounds of abortion, I never thought about how a father might feel after an abortion experience. If I'm honest, I was too broken to deal with anyone else's feelings.
I thank God for the road of healing and the understanding that abortion affects far more than the woman who endures one. I have come to understand that the father is affected far more than I ever thought possible.
I have come to understand...The Voice of a Father!

As we continue to recognize Abortion Recovery Awareness Month, we bring another amazing Beauty Conversation. I have had some amazing conversations with some spectacular women. But this one....my mind is blown!!!

Sylvia shares a bit of her abortion story but the highlight is what God has done with that story for His glory. The Beauty!!! It emanates from deep with Sylvia. I have to ask because sometimes we hold on to the pain for punishment. We hold on to the resentment to hold others to accountability.

How many of us are able to truly live in the Truth of God's Word? How often do we ready God's Word and think, "Yes, I believe this...but for someone else"? How often do we exclude ourselves from the blessings, privileges, and benefits of being a child of God?
Romans 8:1 is a staple Truth in walking in the freedom God offers through accepting His Son, Jesus, as our Savior. However, many of us struggle with this Truth. This hold especially true for women who have experienced an abortion. That choice continues to haunt them, keeping them shackled to shame and living in condemnation.
It's time for us to embrace the Truth God offers in His Word. It's time to EMBRACE IT FOR OURSELVES and...
LIVE IN THE TRUTH!!!

After speaking with a few ladies over the past few weeks since the release of my book, Pearls in the Pews: Bringing Post-Aborting Healing to the Church(ed), I wanted to talk to those who have already started on the healing journey, but find themselves sometimes facing feelings and emotions that they thought were already behind them.
I once did a video and shared this perspective: Healing Does Not Mean the Absence of Feeling.
Healing is NOT the absence of ever feeling an ill-emotion. Healing is not apathy.
Healing is a release from that thing that once held you captive. Healing releases the brokenness and allows the soul to be at peace.
And in that, we are able to express and handle feelings that once may have been scary or overwhelming. God's Word is the rescue in the time of overwhelm with all emotions.
So don't be afraid to feel. Just know... you are no longer hostage to feelings. You have God's truth that you are forgiven and loved!
When we heal, we go on a journey to make peace with the past.

As this 4th Season of Beauty Beyond the Ashes Podcast comes to its end, I am so grateful for what God has done in my life and the lives of those who hear the message.
I have come to realize that "truth" is the impetus to healing. Truth is what opens our hearts. Truth is what moves us towards God. Truth is what transforms our lives. When we bring our truth, "Truth" meets us right where we are. The "Truth" I speak of is God's Word... the living Word of God.
And when we lead with Truth, it brings us to the feet of Christ. We are then forgiven, healed, and set free. We can then RUN FOR Jesus!!!

I am so excited to close out 2024 and walk into the New Year...2025... HERE I COME!!
But before I got ahead of myself, I had to remind myself to do a heart check. In other words, I had to ask myself, "How is your SOUL? Is it well with your soul?"
Not everyone has the heart posture required to prosper in the new year. But we don't often stop to see if our souls are aligned to prosper. And that is a must because as our soul prospereth, so does us and our health.
But what does all of that mean. Hopefully, this episode of Beauty Beyond the Ashes podcast can give you some insight into what that means and how to ensure that your SOUL is positioned to PROSPER.

On this episode of Beauty Beyond the Ashes with Tonya B. Jones, I share about returning to the Father. It is NEVER too late for God to restore His daughters.
During this political season, there has been much talk about abortion. And for that abortion-wounded woman, that can be very triggering. If you have not healed from the wounds and shame of abortion, you could very well find yourself in depression, anxiety, anger, apathy, and a host of other negative-based feelings.
That is why it is so important to have help on your healing journey.

Trauma is, and has always been, real. Thankfully, we are more aware of it and are identifying it within ourselves and our families.
On this episode, I delve a little deeper specifically into the trauma of abortion and how its prevalence within our families. The purpose of this episode is to educate abortion trauma survivors about how generational trauma could have affected their decision to choose abortion. It also shares how generational abortion trauma happens within our family.
However, there is HOPE! As long as we have Jesus, we have HOPE!!!

In this solo episode of Beauty Beyond the Ashes, I dive into a new paradigm shift regarding Pro Life thinking.
After attending the Care Net National Conference a few weeks ago as a breakout session speaker, I came away with a renewed fervor and updated language to move forward in my ministry.
That shift is called Pro ABUNDANT Life ministry. Pro Abundant Life is the vision and mission given to Care Net by its President and CEO, Roland Warren. This mission gave language to the passion of my heart to "love to live" those struggling with the concept of pro-life. For me, it is to show love and compassion as we share the message of life through Jesus. Roland explains in his upcoming book, that that message is the abundant life message of Jesus.
This is profound y'all!!! I truly believe that this movement will be the Roman 12:2 catalyst...transforming by the renewing of the mind.

This Beauty Conversation Blew my mind!!! I sat down with Mrs. Tara Wicker, a fellow Beauty who has found her voice beyond the ashes of her abortion.
Tara, the State Director of Louisiana Black Advocates for Life, has a substantial background in activism, government and advocacy. She and I found common ground as we both stand in the gap to be, what I call, A Restorative Voice for the Voiceless.
Of course this includes the unborn but, in this conversation, I want to emphasize the Voicelessness of those silenced by the shame of abortion.

There are so many Christian women sitting in the pews of the church who are suffering in silence because they feel there is no where to go to share their wounded souls. These God-loving women hide their secret behind the pearls. No one knows that they carry internal wounds from their abortions. The abortion-wounded Christian woman needs to know she is safe within the church body. She needs to have a safe place to bear her wounded soul.

So many times, we count ourselves out thinking that we are not equipped for what God is calling us to do. But if we would just say YES to God, we would discover that He has already provided what we need.

In this episode of Beauty Beyond the Ashes Podcast, I talk about being asked a question that only God the Father could answer. What struck me so deeply was that, at one time, I asked this very question.
It's only now, that I find the solace in not knowing the exact answer. Because in the Word of God, I found something better than an answer. I found that I had made a visit to my Gethsemane and I am GOOD!!!
See, it was in the Garden of Gethsemane that Jesus laid bare His soul to the Father and accepted the will of God that was before Him.
However, it wasn't a smooth ride to that acceptance. In fact, the Bible tells us that "His sweat became like great drops of blood..." It was the agony of the moment that caused such.
There may be something on your heart that you just don't understand. However, if we just do as Jesus did...go into our OWN Gethsemane, and lay it before God. And in doing so, surrender right there to the will of God...even when we don't understand!

But the longing I had to be in purpose for God...to be in His will for my life...to be IN ALIGNMENT WITH MY ASSIGNMENT...I had to do the work. I had to go through the process of seeking God for whatever it was that would lead me to my purpose and assignment.

It is 2024 and Beauty Beyond the Ashes Podcast is in its 3rd SEASON!!! How exciting this is!!! Thank you all for continuing to listen and support the work of forgiveness, restoration, freedom, healing, and wholeness.
Most of us take the time at the beginning of the New Year to envision something new and create something to signify that vision. Most call it a Vision Board or something along those lines.
I felt it was important to not only talk about doing this at the beginning of the year, but to have the tangible evidence of your vision, thoughts and feelings throughout the year. I want us to get into the habit of writing...and I know God has told me on numerous occasions, "WRITE IT DOWN!" This is part of healing work...a very important part!!!

This season has been all about identity....our Identity in Christ!!! It has been a phenomenal season of information, inspiration, instruction, and encouragement. I pray that it has served you well and that you have grown in your identity as a Daughter or Son of the Most High King.

She talks about how we can lose our identity sometimes because of trauma and the losses we suffer. We can get lost in our grief.

Here on Beauty Beyond the Ashespodcast, my goal is to help you heal from the guilt, regret and shame of your past choices. I will be the first to tell you, THIS TAKES WORK!! Healing is a process. And like all processes, there is a beginning place.
For most of us who find ourselves shackled to the shame of the past, it is going to be TRUTH that sets you free! Truth is what will allow you to find the Beauty Beyond the Ashes of your past!
Oftentimes, the truth is UGLY and we don't ever want to see it again. But that ugliness is STILL THERE....so you have to face it to remove it. And that may not be easy. But...it is NECESSARY!

The pain, the hurt, the struggles....How can we make sense of them. Sometimes, we have to look at the soul...the inner part of us that has been broken...left damaged. We have to look at the soul and ask the question...Is my SOUL ok?
Could it be your soul just needs to be HEALED? Could it be that there are some past issues that have left our minds destroyed, our dreams unmentioned, our thoughts struggling, our heart void. Could there be a hole in your soul?

As I was walking through this awakening during my season break, I felt compelled in my spirit to come and chat with you all.
So today, I discuss the awakening of letting go of attachments so that I can make the true connections that I am meant to make. I share how I walked through this struggle of identifying unhealthy attachments and accepting healthy connections in my life...in this particular case...specifically topic attachments on the podcast.
God never leaves us void of wisdom if we just seek Him.
I thank God for His wisdom and truth!

What an amazing day!!! Beauty Beyond the Ashes Podcast with Tonya B. Jones is proud to present EPISODE 40!!!
Yes, I have been sharing with you guys through 40 full episodes. And on this episode, I close out SEASON 1!!!! I am so blessed and excited about what God has done thus far. It has been an exciting beginning and I pray that you all have also been blessed over the last 40 episodes of solo and interview sessions.
Although I am taking a bread to prepare Season 2, that does not mean there is a break from the healing journey!! NO Ma'am...NO Sir!!! So as we await what God is doing in the next season, continue to renew your mind with God's truth...which is His Word. Romans 12:2 says to renew our minds so that we will KNOW what is the good, pleasing and perfect will of God.
God has great things in store for us. But if we are shackled to shame and continuing to condemn ourselves for past mistakes, how can we know the good, the pleasing and the perfectness of God's will!!! Come on y'all!!! Let's meditate on God's Word to get the knowledge and character of God deep within us!

Vulnerability at its peak!!!! From a very heartfelt and vulnerable place in my healing journey, I spoke very candidly about my most recent EMDR therapy session and the revelation of another layer of healing for me.
In this episode of Beauty Beyond the Ashes Podcast with Tonya B. Jones, I share how I realized that there is healing and then there is HEALING WELL! Like an incision or wound to the body, healing of the heart and soul can be done with residual "infection" still underneath. It's important that if we touch the wounds of our past and notice something not quite right, we must to be willing to remove the sutures and look underneath. There might just be something that healed, but didn't HEAL WELL.
I share how I had to "go back in" to reveal some additional truths and "work it out" so that I could not only HEAL but also HEAL WELL!!!

1 John 4:8 tells us that God is Love and we would be hard-pressed to prove differently. However, it is difficult for us to grasp the true depth of God's love for us. Paul says that he prays that we "may be able to comprehend with all the saints, what is the length and width, height and depth of God's love..." (Ephesians 3:18)
We know that God loves us because we see it in His Word. But to receive that Love, we have to meditate on what God says through scripture. It is then that we can remove the separation of shame from our lives and fully commune with God.
Our mistakes can never separate us from the love of God. Therefore, we must stop condemning ourselves for our past choices and allow God to fully penetrate our hearts and lives. It is THEN that God can fully use us for His purpose and His glory.

The Bible is full of scripture that tells us the importance of our thoughts. Romans 12 tells us that we must "renew" our minds. Renewal implies that there is something OLD that needs to be removed for the NEW.
Although undesired and unwanted thoughts may enter our minds, we definitely have the choice what is we NURTURE in our minds. We have the means and the power to combat the lies of the enemy so that we live in the truth of God's Word. Your thoughts are truly your choice!

The AMPC version says "always abounding in the work of the Lord [always being superior, excelling, doing more than enough in the service of the Lord]..."
The abortion experience is a life-altering experience for many who have walked that path. But the grace extended by God will walk you into a God-glorifying life...if you TRUST HIM!!!

In this episode of Beauty Beyond the Ashes, I go into great detail about the pains of my abortion history. In this VERY REAL, VERY RAW episode, I share the ugly truth about my choices and how they affected my life. This was a very difficult episode to present but the decision to tell it was not mine...it was God's.
Even from a place of forgiveness and healing, I feel for the lady who hurt for so long. I feel for the young woman who didn't know the value she possessed. I feel for the woman who longed for validation and searched in all the wrong places.
However, I have such admiration for her resilience and fortitude that she possessed yet didn't realize it. But God placed that within her for the path He knew she would take. He placed that in her to stand the test to bring forth this testimony of redemption.
I am delighted to stand as the woman on the other side of the journey. I am delighted to have been chosen for this Kingdom assignment...to tell my TRUTH!!! I am elated to come each week to share with women who, like me, may not realize that God sees them just as He sees me.....FORGIVEN AND REDEEMED!!!

A woman of Faith can sometimes love God and be on fire for Him. She can understand scripture and know that God is a forgiving God. However, there are times when it's not God who needs to forgive her...It is SHE herself that needs to extend the forgiveness.
We are given the gift of forgiveness but sometimes allow Satan to steal it by holding on to shame and guilt. We live in condemnation for a decision they we have made. Women of faith often struggle with forgiving themselves for their abortion choice. The shame and guilt build a wall between the woman they live as and the life God has purposed for them. Post-abortive healing can be very layered. After God's forgiveness, the first layer is to forgive yourself. There is work that needs to be done in this area.
If you are post-abortive, are you ready to be free of the pangs of guilt that creep up? Are you ready to stop running from your past decision? Are you ready to live in freedom? I believe it's time.

WHOA!!!!! That's how I felt when I went to THE NEXT LEVEL in my healing journey. Although I knew that healing is an ongoing progress, I had a real "spiritual" awakening when God took me to the next level.
My healing journey began with forgiving myself for my painful past decisions that I had never dealt with or resolved. Stepping into and embracing the forgiveness that God had already extended, I found freedom and purpose. But when an event happened that triggered some emotions that were unknown, I used the process I created to navigate those feelings.
In this episode of Beauty Beyond the Ashes, I share how the level of healing I experienced on the other side of that exploration was BEYOND imaginable. God took me to another level of healing and liberation that I didn't even know I needed. I truly began to understand that HEALING IS PROGRESSIVE!!!

Women of Faith often lives lives behind masks, not beaus they feel that they are so wrong or bad, but simply trying to live up to what SOCIETY expects of them.
On this week's episode, Twaneika Crawford, former church First Lady, shares the struggle of living up to society's impression of the role of First Lady. Accepting a life that she felt dishonored her, Twaneika worked fervently "to divorce not just an abusive marriage but dysfunction all together." She shares the process of forgiving herself for accepting the dysfunction for so many years and wishes to help other women of faith realize their true identity in Christ as they heal from brokenness of their past.
On this Thanksgiving week of 2022, Twaneika is living a life healed, whole, and walking in freedom..thankful for the deliverance from emotional, physical, and spiritual bondage of her past.

Revelations 12:11 says that we conquer the accuser by the blood of the Lamb and by the word of our testimony. In this episode of Beauty Beyond the Ashes with Tonya B. Jones, I discuss the importance and power of our testimony. Satan tries to steal, kill, and destroy the plans of God in our lives through our testimony by continually accusing us of our pasts...the very pasts of which God has already forgiven us.
Although everyone may not be called to publicly share their testimony, God will often give us opportunities to share our testimony with even one person to help them in this journey to forgiveness and healing. If we allow Satan to block us with fear and condemnation, we not only allow ourselves to remain in bondage, but also those who are assigned to our stories.
In order to have the power of the word of our testimony, we have to begin to forgive ourselves and heal from those past choices.

As I approach age 52 and God speaks to me more, I believe He is calling me to make a slight shift. As I transition from age 51, the year of abundant discovery and recovery, into the age of 52, I believe God is transitioning me to another level. That means there will be transition in the spaces that I occupy.
NO!!! I am not leaving or going ANYWHERE!!! I gave God my yes and I meant it. However, God has some specific things He has assigned me to do and over the next couple of weeks, that transition will take place.
I will be celebrating and shifting over the next two weeks. But I will return with another full episode of Beauty Beyond the Ashes Podcast on NOVEMBER 9TH!!!

It wasn't until I EXPERIENCED freedom that I actually UNDERSTOOD freedom!!! Freedom is BOLD!!! And BOLDNESS is FREEDOM!!!

On this episode of Beauty Beyond the Ashes with Tonya B. Jones, Tonya discusses how brokenness is not a bad thing. In fact, our brokenness brings us closer to God...IF WE ALLOW IT TO!!!
It was being broken before God that finally allowed Tonya to hear the heart of God regarding her past choices and surrender to allowing Him to heal her heart. She explains how she no longer has wounds from the past, but her scars do remain. To her, scars are a sign of victory over her battles. Her scars show healing. There is no longer bleeding and pain within the wounds, but healed scars that show her battle has been won. It is her scars that show others they, too, can have victory over their strongholds, their past decisions, and over the shackles of shame that exist in their lives.
Psalm 34:18 tells us that "The Lord is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit." Now that should help us to take the wounds of our broken hearts and crushed spirits to God...because He is right there, close to you, waiting to heal you!

2. Self-forgiveness is a process that must be practiced and continued into all areas of our lives. Meditating on scriptures of God's grace will help you to accept God's gracious gift of grace.
- The God of all grace will restore you, establish you, strengthen you, and establish you (1 Peter 5:10). All you have to do is EMBRACE GOD'S GRACE!!!

Sometimes the truth of our story is hard for us to face, especially when we know that some of the pain from our story is of our own doing. But that doesn't matter to God. He's ready to hold you through all of that. But you MUST begin to be honest with YOURSELF about the truths that are hidden deep; the ones that you don't want to address. Luke 4:17-21 (NKJV) tells of Jesus' profession that He is the One sent to "heal the brokenhearted." He has come to be Light to the world and remove us from the darkness (John 12:44-46) of our pasts.
