Joel Monk, co-founder of Coaches Rising, and Ellen Waenink, Course Steward, will officially close the Coaching Summit. We will sink in together, explore themes from the summit, meditate, practice embodiment, connect with each other and the collective field of learning that we formed the past weeks.
In this panel we will explore the role coaches can play in our times to help our clients thrive in a way that is trauma informed. We will explore the following questions:
Whatever else presence is it has to include being able to be with what is. One of the skills that master coaches develop is the capacity to be with what is; in the client, in themselves and in the coaching relationship.
Candor begins by being willing to experience what is. Denial and deception are our attempts to not be with reality in ourselves and in others. Once I’m willing to see reality free from my filters the next step is to say what I see. Candor is describing my unarguable experience in this now moment. It includes my internal experience and my experience of the client and our relationship.
Candor is a choice to reveal and not to conceal and the practice of candor brings me instantly into presence and into the possibility of connected relationship with the client. Coaching is, in some ways, an intimacy experience. Intimacy can be described as IN-TO-ME-SEE …. That requires candor.
During times of chaos and upheaval we can easily be caught in the polarities of despair, or frantic activity. In this session we will inquire into the possibilities that an embodied spirit offers us as a sanctuary during tumultuous transitions, and as a place in which we can take wise, compassionate, skillful action. We will engage in practices and distinctions that allow us to cherish the mystery while having our feet firmly on the ground
Our very own Ellen Waenink will lead you through a deeply experiential workshop to help you explore the themes and experiences you’ve been having in the summit, and integrate them into your coaching work.
In this interactive workshop, participants will be introduced to one of the most powerful tools available to deal with everyday tensions everyone faces. These tensions can be best understood as polarities—competing values, interests, goals, or commitments that can lead to conflict and struggle within oneself and with others.
You will learn how you and your clients can develop polarity wisdom to address the complexities of our world today and tomorrow.
Description: in this panel we will explore with leading figures in the field of coaching the following questions:
This exercise is part of of the Episode " Integral Coaching - Coaching from the Field "
In this workshop Due will introduce key distinctions and tools that will support you and your clients to begin rewiring the brain to align and integrate the whole self. In doing so you and your clients will tap into the resilience and compassion that naturally arises when we stop disowning marginalized aspects of ourselves.
The racial reckoning post-George Floyd’s murder has brought race to the forefront of the culture wars in the U.S. On the progressive left, an anti-racist ideology led by the likes of Ibram X. Kendi centers racism and “white supremacy” as the basis of continuing social and economic disparities. On the far right, populist authoritarians gravitate to conspiracy theories and identify enemies from within and without, including those they deem “race” hustlers. On both sides, identity politics override the basis of a liberal democracy grounded in shared civic and cultural principles and practices.

In this panel we will explore the times we are in, making sense of the transition that we are going through, including which ideas we hold about the world that need to be questioned – and the consequences of all this on the work we do as transformational coaches and guides. How are practitioners being invited to adapt so they can serve more deeply in these times?
